11 pointsThought the collective might enjoy my perforation project... I bought this tractor a couple months ago and turning it into a nice "user"... Won't be a perfect restoration, just a nice addition to my old Toyota 4x4. Rich

8 pointsI used an old trailer to transport Norman’s deck for loading. The new loading dock was very helpful this year!
-
7 pointsI can’t tell you how many times that has happened to me. I look at a tractor I haven’t used in a while and think I should sell it. Then I use it for whatever reason and think no, I like this tractor, I don’t want to sell it!!
-
6 pointsI haven’t made a video in over a month…. I need to get on that some time soon.

6 pointsDug these old girls out of the weeds today for a couple hundred bucks. To my surprise the 520 actually started with some make shift gas line but the 314-8 which reads to be an 02 model is in tough shape with everything seized and locked up sadly it only has 200 hours on it with a like new 42” deck.

6 pointsYesterday Eloise and Cylvia went camping! Our friend’s pusher “Cylvia” has the 8.3 Cummins that I longed for so badly. Eloise has the 7.2 3126 CAT. Accelerating to highway speeds, or off highway, I felt very light on the throttle. When we arrived to the campground about an hour and a half away, he mentioned how he could not keep up with me on take offs. Once again, the 100 hp lesser engine has impressed me! Happy 250th Independence Day, America!

5 pointsI knew it was wrong, then spelled it another way, then auto correct brought me to that. I kind of shrugged my shoulders and sent it!

5 pointsThis is my in line project. I pick this up this spring.bought it at the right time. Going through it front to back. It is dirty from mowing from mowing it,s hole life. So tearing it down to rolling frame. It is on a dolly now. I was lucky to have Dockwheelhorse as a friend that had the original front tire. Here are a few picks.

5 pointsLittle red tractors brought us all to Red Square; but it is the people who keep me coming back for more.

4 pointsAssembly tools are underrated because they are uncommon outside of production lines. A couple years ago @ri702bill made me a manufacturer-spec tool for pressing in the bearings and seals during my gear mowing deck rebuild. Worked so well I was a bit disappointed at how quickly I finished the job!

4 pointsTook out the annoying Push button start button and push/pull kill switch..and added all new wires, switches and black plug to fill the huge hole in dash.
-
4 pointsThank you for everyone's help. I need to remove the carburetor and inspect it further. Luckily I work in a machine shop and can make the bushing if only the top is required. This is my first Wheel Horse and it amazes me how strong it is. I pulled a rock about 500 lbs on a makeshift skid with it. I really did not have high hopes for it working and expected the rear lawn tires to dig in and lift the front end. Instead using 1st gear Low range, I did not even realize the rock was back there. I also have a 1956 International Cub Lo Boy from my parents. I am 61 years old and learned to drive on it in the late 60s. It is still and amazing tractor for hauling logs out of the woods and plowing. Once again thank you.

4 pointsThere was a good amount of young people attending this year. Thanks for capturing that. They're the future owners of our herds

3 pointsShow dates July 9-11 in Portage Wisconsin. Great show with garden tractors of all makes. Who's going?
-
3 pointsOver 100*F in the pole barn today. Good day to clean up and paint some snow plow blades in the cool basement shop.
-
3 pointsThanks for the suggestions. Amazon did a “free” overnight delivery. Got here a few minutes ago. I will still tape it ,but like the cover and its pockets.

3 pointsVery nice setup Mike. That can hold a lot of brush or what ever you have to move.
-
3 pointsIt’s like getting a tattoo that says no regrets, but it was spelled wrong. No regerts is an often used term around the Pullstart household!
-
3 pointsAnd what evidence do you have to the contrary? Can’t it be rotating in both directions as the same time?

3 pointsAs you go through this project please keep in mind that we have all learned from other members of Red Square. Ask your questions BEFORE you make a valiant attempt that ends up poorly. We are here to help and most of us have already made the mistake before so you don't have to repeat it. Use a generous amount of penetrating oil (not WD-40) on anything you plan to remove, several applications over several days should be your plan of action.

3 pointsI didn’t know 701 day was a thing! I will have to mark the calendar next year. Nice tractors everyone! 701 is my favorite model. This is mine that just bought at the big show. I love the patina on this thing!

3 pointsPretty sure I went over budget. Nice 48" deck from @c-series don Running k91 from K&B Not at the show, but picked this project up on the way home: Package deal, 1055 with pull toys. Father and son were restoring, Father passed, son lost interest. The tractor is fairly complete, tins are in great condition, mostly painted. Fender pan and hood are still original. So far, all I can identify as missing are the flywheel nut/ washer and coil. The engine and carburetor have been rebuilt, probably give both a going through before I try to get it running. Bonus!
-
3 pointsSo... you must have been going about 45 if @Pullstart flew by you doing 55-60...
-
2 pointsLooks good. One minor detail, the belt cover goes over top of the lip on the foot board.
-
2 pointsWe have a Freightliner medium duty that has a Cummins 4 cylinder. That engine can't consistently communicate with the truck computer. Quite often, it throws a code because one of the two computers firmly believes that the engine is rotating backwards.
-
2 pointsThose cables are junk. A starter gen takes about 60 amps to start turning the engine. And you need clean grounds including where the gen and gen bracket mounts.
-
2 pointsI'd start with checking all your grounds and redoing the battery cables. That positive cable looks like it needed replaced 20 years ago.
-
2 pointsLast week I replaced both rear axle seals and the brake shaft seal on my 1986 312-8. Next I am going to try to fix my worn out Carter carburetor. the housing where the throttle shaft goes into the carburetor is worn out. I am going to look at making a bushing in the machine shop to repair it as long as it is only the top that is worn out. Tractor runs ok like it is however it is running to lean.

2 pointsI would clean up the area and get a rubber grommet to fit that. I bet it would look almost factory. I just welded up a hood that had holes every where from hood ornament to lights.

2 pointsI had a small shopping list for this years show. Already had an 867 coming from Jim, so didn’t have to shop the show for a short frame start/gen machine, but was also on the lookout for a C-81. Not a super desirable model but I really wanted one. Last year there were no C-81’s for sale. Found this one on Thursday morning. It’s a 1978 and its in real nice shape! The story is that it was a Phil Bowling (I hope I got his name right!) tractor and after he passed it ended up in someone else’s hands. And this year it went up for sale to reduce someone’s collection. Grabbed a show shirt, 8 speed drive belt and a pair of rear wheels/tires…and that’s it.

2 pointsI go to partstree.com or toro online and look up the diagrams for various models of attachments like mower decks, or use the manuals here on Red Square to download...and print those pages for future use that I need regularly...that way issues like your correct washers are easily referenced. Good luck
-
2 pointsAwesome pictures! I saw your truck fly by me on the highway on the way home. I tried catching up to see who it was but you had the hammer down!😂. Now I know who it was. 👍
-
2 points@Natejc_98 Tell us a little about your self and your use/plans for your Horse. Are you planning a complete nut and bolt frame on the ground restoration, or just a cosmetic one? Some like the patina look and use Flood Penetrol to give it a mat finish. Does it run? It not you might want to get it running to Ck out engine and transmission before much disassembly. Share some pictures of rusted out areas to help us guide you.
