8 pointsAll loaded up for a trip to western Massachusetts tomorrow. Two tractors for the Big Show via @wallfish. Couple mowing decks and some other variousitems for another Redsquare Supporter. Swap trade drive blab & stare out the Pilot windows for a couple days.

7 pointsSet a camera up on the cat food what to see was eating it and got this ... Well the nice thing about trail cameras is this horse pic ... Moved the trail cam to the asparagus patch to see if deer were eating that ... It was what they call a bluebird day.

5 pointsSad day... Had to put our lab Denali down today... the cancer caught up with him this afternoon. Labored to breath, seizures, etc. He was a great dog. RIP buddy...
-
5 pointsToday, I worked on pulling parts off an old mowing deck I got from @ebinmaine I also pulled the mowing deck off the 312 as it was making enough noise to drown out the tractor. The idler was bad on that deck so as luck would have it, the idler I took off the other deck was a direct match. Now to put everything back on and try it out.

5 pointsPerfect for mounting predator motors to C series tractors... exact height needed for the belt guard...

5 pointsMay 7, 1998, the German automobile company Daimler-Benz—maker of the world-famous luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz—announces a $36 billion merger with the United States-based Chrysler Corporation. The purchase of Chrysler, America’s third-largest car company, by the Stuttgart-based Daimler-Benz marked the biggest acquisition by a foreign buyer of any U.S. company in history.

4 pointsGot home from work and the kids wanted to play outside. After a bit my youngest decided to go to the barn because he wanted a tractor ride. He picked out the C120 and we did a few laps. Then my oldest decided she wanted to try and drive it. So I let her try but seat set up was too tall for her to fully reach the clutch and brake pedals so I grabbed the 10-8 since it’s just the one pedal and seat straight on the fender and she fit it pretty good. While she drove around I grabbed the gorilla cart and put the two youngest in that attached to the 120. Great way to end a long work day.

4 points@76c12091520h has these pulleys and they are BETTER THAN FACTORY!!!!! ( clutch disc is better too!!!)
-
4 pointsI cut the angle holding the two pieces. Spread it open far enough to get the 3/4" shaft in.

4 pointsGarbage in = garbage out was the computer norm. Add AI to the picture where it selects the more prominent information regardless of its validity and it becomes Garbage in = Gospel out. Special interests have always been able to make multiple internet entries promoting their point of view and thereby suppressing any alternate information, truthful or not. If you took the time and scrolled through enough PR garbage you could find what they were hiding. AI seems to doing the same but totally discounting alternative information. OK, now I will get back down off my soap box and get back to Wheel Horse talk.
-
4 pointsYep a Fairbanks ... I had one that just gave me fits too. Yours even has the original handle. Yep been feeding her the barn cat food the cats won't eat. Goes to show how much corn is in it.
-
4 pointsPicked up a new (to me) WH hauler today! They sure are proud that it is made in MI!

3 pointsNo puller required Wedge the flywheel from the back against the plate but not super tight. I use 2 large screwdrivers spaced apart on each side. Loosen the nut so it's at the edge of the threads plus a tad tp protect the threads. Smack the nut with a brass hammer and viola. the flywheel is off. A piece of hardwood and any old hammer will wok if you don't have a brass hammer. I've yet to have a flywheel that didn't come off doing it this way
-
3 pointsAnd they're cheap...although the phillips tend to be stronger on the better ones. Great for 3/8" sockets but the phillips driver tips on these are priceless IMO.
-
3 pointsI've had issues in the past with the #3 phillips for the screen on the flywheel. I've soaked these for a few days and hit them with the manual impact. Four for 4

3 pointsI have a lot of different treads but no ribs...yet. Love the look.

3 pointsHis 9th birthday is tomorrow... He flopped into my daughters lap when we picked him up as a puppy, he flopped into her lap when he breathed his last... poetry...

3 pointsNot much “horsein” around time today but did get the front wheels running straight with steering wheel on the 520H, kind a pet pev of mine, I like um straight!

3 pointsThe military does have its own “sorting hat” doesn’t it? My Dad joined the Navy to “get into the fight” (WWII). After a battery of tests the powers that be assigned him as a diesel mechanics instructor at Great Lakes. He wasn’t thrilled, but he claimed it had two big upsides. It motivated him to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering on the GI Bill. And he met my Mom while on a weekend pass.

3 pointsThe pulley from Brian is really impressive. It's not stamped tin like the original

3 points@peter lena pete trying to get side shields off started this hole thing ,buggerd up shield, bearng was good, not any more. @razorback I'm going to bearing distributors, called and they have them. So when I get some information I'll let you know. @ri702bill I'll see if I can get some 5-40 button head screws .
-
3 pointsI agree... I mill off the heads of the rivets and drive the body of the rivets out. Replace the sealed bearing with a new one. Buff the halves on a wire wheel before assembly. I use #5-40 Button head screws - 1/4" or 5/15" long with a dab of blue Loctite on the threads and then the hexnut. This way, they are easily rebuildable later on instead of riveting. a light coat of Rusty metal Primer and a spritz of red - better than new...

3 pointsI don't have a K341 to comment on, but on my Bronco's K321 (same crank), the increase in vibration was not nearly as bad as I feared it would be. It's definitely there, but knowing my engine is now safe from window making is easily worth it. I won't install another Kohler with the balance gears still in there. I like these old engines too much to take the chance.

3 pointsNeeds a good bit of attention elsewhere, to be expected being a '73 with no records and not much known about its history. Someone has been pumping grease into it but the fuel pump leaks, most of the wiring is original, I can't tell yet if the head has ever been pulled and doubt that the valves are in adjustment by the way it runs...stuff to do I'd like to pull the balance gears but I've got other priorities and no tasks in mind for this one. We'll see how things shake out, it might be worth a couple hours to go ahead and do that while I'm this far in.

3 pointsI was considering not hauling my rather large toyhauler and get 8-10 mpg but what the hell we only live once. If it means having to sell a few parts to make up the extra few bucks in fuel so be it. I am probably going to haul it down a few days early and stay at a campground in Gettysburg area and do the battlefield tours.

3 pointsSome work on new steel box for WH trailer (dump trailer). Undercarriage needed some work, but that is the base for new "dump box" , aside original platform for hauling wood (2 in 1). Materials: old 2 wheel wheelbarrow, old bed frame, scrap metal and some new metal pieces. Fit for wooden pallet 120x80 cm. My original modified patform for hauling wood, hay, grass, branches etc

2 pointsI was given a 12 ton HFT press back in 2019. The first thing that I thought was I can't wait until I have the next stuck steering wheel. So, seven years later here we are. Grandson Mason picked up a 69 Raider 12 at the show last year. Two weeks ago he brought me his steering wheel with the dash still attached. First thing we did was get the roll pin out, then cut the locking collar off from under the dash. Next I discovered that you can't get the whole assembly into the press because the gap in the apron (as they call it) is fixed and too narrow. So I removed it and replaced it with a 4x4 on either side. See picture.. Okay. One would think that this would be easy-peasy. Nope. I have been soaking this with PB Blaster now for a week. The shaft has not budged at all. The other problem is that as I add pressure, the 4x4's are compressing (denting) where they sit on the pins that are supposed to hold the steel apron. This problem is probably turning 12 tons of pressure into about 4 tons. Because I can't use heat due to the plastic steering wheel, my next step will be to cut the support that hold the two sides of the apron together, spread it apart to get the steering shaft in, then clamp it back together, to get a non-moving apron. More to follow...

2 pointsThanks I have a set of the V61's on this 520 and a C160 and tri ribs on just about everything else. I like the looks and the way they perform.

2 pointsComparing 1967 to 2026 USA average gasoline price and USA average income, both increased just over 13 times. It's all relative folks.
-
2 pointsJust wondering if a piece of fuel line could be split and put around the opening?

2 pointsWhen I went for pre enlistment testing (1963) one test was a Morse Code test which I did very well on. I didn't know Morse Code then and never learned it but I did know how to take a test. It consisted of a 33 1/3 recording of the code with only three letters being used. I selected a letter and each time it came up I would mark it and leave all the others blank. When the recording finished I chose on of the other letters and marked all of the blanks with that letter. I got a 71% on the test which qualified me to attend Radioman A School. Fortunately I scored even better on the electrical and electronics test and was able to become an Electronics Technician, I would have made a terrible radioman.

2 pointsMy daughter asked me once why I talk to myself so much. I told her my grandpaw always said only take advice from the smarter folks... so I talk to the smartest fella around me at the time.
