9 pointsEarly model Crescent, modernized from overhead line shaft operation to electric with safety features. Built late eighteen hundreds, runs on Babbitt can accommodate blades up to two inches wide, currently fitted with 1.250" Crescent Machine Company was founded in Leetonia, Ohio in 1893. It manufactured a line of industrial woodworking machinery, particularly band saws. In 1940, it was bought by Pittsburgh Equitable Meter and Manufacturing Company, which became the Rockwell Manufacturing Company in 1946. Leaving in the morning to bring her home.

5 pointsI had to move some tractor around this afternoon to allow an electrician to look at a spot in my little shop area in the garage for a new breaker box we need installed. It started me thinking g about the three RJ’s i moved and their rear tires! The first is a set of original Goodyear 6/12s on a later RJ. The second set is a Wards Riverside set (Pullstart keeps wanting to buy these from me) that has a little more unique tread. The third set is a Carlisle Tru-Power set i bought about seven years ago. I also see i must have a leaking axle sedl on that one!

5 pointsGiven the businesses mentioned and its unique design, this is an antique ice pick or ice chipper, specifically a promotional one for an ice company. Identity & Function The "cage" handle is a practical design for an ice tool. It is often referred to as a "cool handle" or spring handle, designed to provide a secure grip even when your hands or the tool are wet and cold, while also dissipating the chill so the metal doesn't freeze to your hand. B. Cooper & Co. / Bond & Turney: These names confirm its use. B. Cooper and G. F. Bond were partners in the B. Cooper Ice Company of Troy, NY. They harvested natural ice from the Hudson River and local lakes, delivering it to residents for their "iceboxes" before electric refrigeration existed. Telephone 784: This was the direct line to the ice house to request a delivery. The Pointed Tip: Used to chip off specific-sized blocks of ice from a larger slab to fit a home icebox. Why the Unusual Shape? The scalloped, fan-like end (where the business names are stamped) likely doubled as a scraper or a small cleaver for smoothing the surface of an ice block or breaking off chunks, making it a "multi-tool" for the ice man or homeowner.

5 pointsI do grease them, but the older I get it is getting harder to get on the floor to grease them. I should say It’s harder to get up off the floor.

4 pointsI've have a Senior Lifetime Pass that allows me and up to three other adults free or discount access to several National sites. I carry my credit card type pass in my billfold and have concerns that I might loose it, or it becomes unreadable. I was perusing a camping website and found the follow information so I was able to link my physical pass to a digital pass. I printed out the digital pass--you know--just in case. Thanks to whoever provided the following information: I'm usually the last to discover anything new, so my apologies if this has already been posted or is common knowledge. I just learned that it is possible to link my America the Beautiful Senior Lifetime Pass to the app, eliminating the need to have the actual card with you to make a reservation or enter a park. It also allows printing and/or downloading the Pass. Great feature if you forget or lose your card, so now I have a printed copy in the toad and the MH, in case there is no cell service at an entry gate, etc. To link your Pass: Log in to your account at rec.gov, select passes from one of the top right 3 lines, select America the Beautiful Senior Lifetime Pass and enter your pass number. I did this on my laptop, and confirmed that it automatically worked on the app. This can be done thru the app, too.

4 pointsYou might want to look at the inside of those rear tires, they probably could be saved with tubes. Love the old Silvertowns. Try searching for 23 X 600-12, you will get lots of hits on that size, if you want to go wider you could get 8.50 that will fit your rims OK.

4 pointsI thought he said "I sell propane and propane accessories". Seriously though, I love that song. Also, what's the cut-off for being a "whippersnapper"?

4 pointsI would say small moves all the way around the caps or moons. A long screw driver or small prybar. Send up a picture of them if you can. How do you like the 856? This one came from the big show a few years back. I like it.
-
4 pointsWrong @ebinmaine. It is a blue plastic tray - similar to cafeteria trays. Oh. The rusty thing - maybe a portable boot scraper. Stick the pointy end in the ground and use the flat side to scrape your boot. Maybe a marlin spike thingy to help linemen with splices?

4 pointsTelephone dart... used to play the telephone game back before lawyers... Discontinued after a few too many head punctures...

3 pointsNow come on Kevin !!! Not only does it look like a Chevy engine, it says Chevrolet right on it. There is no way that engine came out of a Dodge Dart.

3 pointsI'm going with it being an ICE PICK advertising promotional that would be handed out at the County Fair or other large gatherings in Troy NY. Don't think it would have been given out at the airport, TSA would say that is a no no.

3 pointsJeff asked some questions about this engine I’ve got in the shop to do some cleaning up on. Is this a Dart block?
-
3 pointsWhen driven into a pole, the end with the three notches is used as a separator to run multi lines so the tech could clip in easily. Sounds like a good like of BS. lol

3 pointsIts a WWII era missile that apparently was a dud. This is clearly a very dangerous item that would be very valuable to the right person on pawn stars

3 pointsIt is time to replace the tires on my ugly orange '72 Chevy C10. My kids named this vehicle 'Big Nasty' years ago when they were still in high school. I've decided to replace the wheels as well. Got some Wheel Ventquies 15x7 OEM style steel wheels that will go better with the tires I am planning on. Shot a couple coats of Rustoleum +2 gloss white on them today. The robotics team also got the trailer back from the shop with a new wrap applied.

2 pointsHi all. I bought a '99 Wheelhorse 15-38HXL three years ago. I've been retired now for 3 years. There doesn't appear to be a lot of posts here regarding the unit I have, so maybe I can help others who might also have one.

2 pointsWelcome to the Forum True, not a lot of posts about these lawn tractors--lots of members here prefer the older stuff! I did some work on one of these a while back and was impressed at the sturdy construction. Hope you continue to enjoy it!

2 pointsAround here I believe anybody under 60 years old 😂😂 cause some of these old coots are gittin along in years!! 🤣 still love ya Ed 😂

2 pointsHere are some rear tire options for you. https://www.millertire.com/categories/lawn-garden-tires/6-12/ Do a search on 6-12 tractor tires for more options The 8" rims that you posted will not work at all, they are designed to be mounted on a drive axle that rotates. Like for a walk behind tiller or snow blower. Some front tire options. https://www.millertire.com/categories/lawn-garden-tires/4-80-8/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/332299155258 If the exhaust port on your engine is threaded, then you can use water pipe to get it out from under the hood and add a pepper box muffler. Example https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/maxpower-engine-muffler-for-1-in-pipe-replaces-briggs-stratton-299477-299477s-334140-2089646

2 pointsthose look like matching BFG Silvertowns (real good snow tire IMO) and look like they have plenty of tread left, is there anyway you might be able to put tubes in? I have also "fixed" some pretty bad tires by using the stringy/Kevlar tire sealant, have some that's stayed up for at least 7yr. As far as muffler goes, there is a bunch of different opyions out there just match the threads, I try to get the quietest I can find in my old age.. to RED SQUARE

2 pointsBrand doesn't matter much, I use batteries made by East Penn which are sold under various brand names. If you care at all about battery life they must be kept fully charged using a quality small charger. I use Battery Tender brand chargers and charge 2 or 3 days per month and get about 6 to 8 years from each battery. You didn't read the heading in this topic, it is for battery powered tractors.

2 pointsit is welded in. Never seen one break off, I wonder if someone removed it on purpose for some reason. Unless you have access to a welder it may be easier to just replace the cam as there should be some of them around. I guess you could use a shoulder bolt. I will get you the dimensions tomorrow.

2 pointsPut my deposit on a new shop. Picked out a 30x30 metal building. Hopefully it will be done before hurricane season. The possibilities of a NC meet n greet are shaping up. Can’t wait to have somewhere to work.

2 pointsFor pulling telephone wires? Tie a light pull string to it and throw at a pole then pull the wire up with the string?
-
2 pointsHi all, I made a simple rig to lift my tractor. Stuff I had laying around. Then use my chain host. Hooks to tach o matic front plate.
-
2 pointsSo this past weekend finally got around to working on this tractor again. Installed new throttle cable, and the carb kit. Also replaced the screws that hood on the air filter assembly. And we are now running beautifully! But wait. This tractor still isn’t finished yet. I have the starter gen light I got from @WHX?? and some new shoes to put on it! IMG_1904.mov
