I've posted a few pics of Trina's latest woodstove restoration project. This'n is a Timberline. It's now located in the new basement apartment for her momma. Here's a before during and after pic set.

Storage container finally got delivered. I also found a metal cabinet for my drill press to set on.

Joe Papke, the Schnacke Guru says I will need to harden these hex nuts so that will also be done on this project. I know the right blacksmiths with the right furnaces!

Since I retired, I started organizing hardware myself. The gray drawers are standard nuts and bolts. The tan drawers are all metric nuts and bolts with standard machine screws and nuts on the bottom. All are organized by diameter and thread pitch. I actually started organizing a few years before retiring but reorganized a little better afterwards.

Some times God takes your breath away at sunrise.

Which has constantly been on every collector's mind... I have several that I wouldn't mind letting go. Or at least I tell myself so.

Good Ole Rusty’s repower is 90% complete. Today we put the muffler on and welded it. And was able to drive it around for the first time in 4 years. Tommorow going to put the original saw tooth tires on it. And sometime soon hook the charging system back up, and make a 2” receiver hitch for it. We still don’t know how much horse power this engine is since there’s no tag or stamp on the block. Is there anyway else to tell? IMG_2027.mov

There fixed it!

Owner of the local mower shop dropped off a Brinly box blade for me to redo. He didn’t have time to mess with it. He got it for nothing during a pickup/delivery. The P.O. had left it sitting out on its back. The blade was corroded and the pivot pin was froze up. A lot of liquid wrench and a BFH finally disassembled everything.Got it cleaned and repainted . This going to his 14 year old son to use so I wouldn’t charge him anything. He gives me a break at his shop so it’s payback.

First time in a month that I mowed the whole lawn. Been spot mowing every now and then. We haven't had much rain this summer and now the weather has cooled, we are getting some.

i did the same thing today! I had one already painted and measured it to fit and got it all ready to install snd it didn't fit! It was probably a C model hood and i had a B.80. So I ended up painting the B-80.

I'm 25 yrs into my current one (Betsy, the love of my life) after losing #1 after 18 yrs. to Mr. and Mrs. K.

Many have a casting just over the PTO shaft, but many 10 and 12hp have "K301" because both used the same casting. Not sure if K321 have anything that absolutely identifies them or not- other than the previously mentioned "Kxxx" casting. 16hp engines have an extra head bolt. Otherwise, you have to remove the head to verify.

I did change the fluid, it has such a horrendous leak that it had next to no fluid in it. Anyway ya look at it, I gotta take it apart.

Hope the concrete finishers can stay inside the lines, unlike you.

Do consider adding two Heim Ends on the angling rod. Gives smooth action with no play. A bonus if you seperate the frame from the moldboard for storage as I do... Leave the rod end bolted to the quadrant & unscrew the rod. No more fishing the washers & cotter pin.

While I had this blade here I made templates to replicate it using two 42” Craftsman snow blades. The snow blades were cut to height and welded together with both backing plates. Everything else was made with heavier material. When finished it was put on the back of my 1277.

I am going to have some new Schnacke Nuts made for Kohler K 90 and 91 motors! I acquired a Schnacke with my latest RJ purchase and the 1 1/2 inch HEX Nut was already rounded which explained why the Schnacke was off the motor and the rope pull was being used! McMaster Carr sells 7/8 HEX rod in different lengths. I bought 12 inches which should make 7 good ones 1 1/2 long. I am also going to have the 7/16 x 20 threads placed on each end so the Kohler HEX Nut can be reversed and used on the other end after wear

I heard on one of them sciency-stuff podcastamajigs earlier this year that the way medical science is going if you make it through the next 5 years your chances of living to 100 are going to increase dramatically.

The last 6/8 weeks a rain gauge is useless here. More like needing a rain drop counter. Spring was super wet and then it just shut off. Sounds like EB needs to break out his pumpkin spice flannels.

I want to keep the unit as close to factory configuration as possible, but having eyes on the hours, oil, and volts are pretty important for a daily driver in my opinion so I'm good with some slight mods there. The voltage regulator will be removed, as the CH13 has its own regulator mounted on the engine shroud. If i can get away without chopping into the dash tower sheet metal for gauges, that would be preferred.

Looks great! I think I've decided to toss the plastic panel and work with the steel plate, modify it to fit a low oil pressure indicator for the CH13, and possibly make accommodations for an hour meter and voltmeter.

I think that should work fine.

That’s a bolt action exotic wood custom from one of my father inlaw’s coworkers.

This afternoon we moved Trina's latest stove restoration project from barn to basement apartment.

Found the drain plug under the parts 520H with a little help. Got the front end up and the transmission draining.

I just made my own out of aluminum. It was a bit of a PITA cutting, bending and fitting but it turned out great.

Started putting the tower together for the parts machine 512H. Really did not want to take it apart but it need rust removed and paint. Pro tip......leave all the bolts loose until all the pieces are in place then tighten.
