21 pointsFirst my apologies to have sort of disappeared and to those who contacted me some I think without a response. Life has thrown quite a few obstacles in front of us and we have been stumbling, tripping and trying to get up for some time now. It’s been event after event and time has just flown over our heads during all of it. Finally little by little we are achieving some sort of normality if one can call it that. As I learned at a young age from a great man, “ you don’t make plans for your life, life will make them for you. I miss not having being here, sometimes having attempted but all the preoccupations taking always over and preventing that and many other things which were part of my daily life. Hopefully now I can get some of it on track starting with attending our beloved show later this week. Looking forward to see everyone.

8 pointsI was just wondering how many other Work Horses will be coming to the show. I’m really hoping that we can make a good showing. Being the very proud original owner of my GT-1800 I am happy that the Work Horse has been chosen for this year. I think I heard something about the guy on the left being there as well 😂 I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!

5 pointsGood running C-160 Hydro for sale! AS PICTURED since the videos, this has been cleaned, seat swapped, and rear fender changed out as well. Brand new battery today, 42” SD deck cuts well, hydro lift and low back Wheel Horse branded seat. $650. I’ve got it on the trailer and I don’t plan to bring it home! I have a solid spare brake pedal zip ties to this as well. I just ran out of time to swap it. IMG_1377.mov IMG_1378.mov IMG_1371.mov

5 pointsThat is why I use Sta-Bil Storage additive in every drop of non-ethanol gas I buy for the Wheel Horses and always maintain a full fuel tank. After I had my stroke everything sat unused for a year or more and ran like it never happened.

5 pointsI don't think it will ever stop raining. My yard looks like an uncut interstate highway median... I am not complaining about the rain. Maybe just the intensity, duration, and number of times it's come in the past 10 days... Oh well, it gave me time to paint my wheels. I stole @Sparky Mike's wheel paint color and I like it! None of my wheel weights will fit the fronts, so I ran the valve stems on the outside. And for any who are curious, Rustoleum crystal clear works fine over Krylon. Sprayed it on immediately just as you would over Rustoleum.

4 pointsWith the BIG SHOW coming up and family coming into town Sunday for my wife's birthday I took a swing at the "Honey-do-list." The list was too long to accomplish in a couple of days so I asked my wife to prioritize the tasks she hoped to have done. I managed to complete tasks 1, 3, 5, and 7 today. She asked why I hadn't done jobs 2, 4, and 6 I told her I only do ODD JOBS! Looking forward to seeing everybody at the show.

4 pointsAll these wheel horse tractors all shined up. I wish I could go this year but most likely it will be next year for me. Maybe I’ll have mine shined up by then. New tread and painted wheels go on this weekend. Getting front tires mounted tonight and then I will finish painting them. steve

4 pointsFresh Veggies Day on June 16 is celebrated to commemorate the nutritional value of fresh vegetables and their importance to human health. Fresh vegetables are the best sources of micronutrients that are vital for metabolism, growth, development, and disease prevention. The natural fiber content in vegetables helps prevent constipation, hemorrhoids, and colon cancer. According to “Food & Wine” magazine, there is no such thing as a bad vegetable. Some may need extra work to remove an outer shell or be peeled, and some fare better when cooked. However, there is no reason not to eat fresh vegetables every day.

4 pointsWE ARE SO CLOSE!! Today got ALOT done. Ran the wires for the front and rear lights and mounted and wired in the rear lights. Re hooked up the battery. Mounted the fenders. Painted the final heat shields and mounted those. Also tidied up around the tractor and flipped the tractor around and swept the floor underneath it s8hce there was a lot of junk and leaves. FINAL 4 things to do 1. Paint the red in the hood 2. Put the decals on the tractor 3. Put on the grippy stuff for the floor boards 4. Put the seat on. And that is it! The finish line is in sight!!

3 pointsHere is the new to me 1975 Simplicity 7016 I did some trading with my neighbor. It was his Dad's who passed away last year who was our neighbor as well, that we were pretty close to for the amount of time we lived here. So it has some sentimental value as well. Especially for his son who lives there now, knowing it's being taken care and close by. It has the tiller, a front blade, and a deck which probably to far gone to save. Also some wheel weights I did wash it before the photos. The sticker is not right I did check the model number on the tractor and it is a 7016. I did check the bevel gearbox and it doesn't have to much slop it's still within acceptable range. After checking this tractor out I can really appreciate the simplicity of the Wheelhorse tractors (pun not intended haha) That said I do love the look of the tractor with this particular hood and the light pods on the side.

3 points551 Suburban, as seen in the pictures! Hub caps, original front tires, cast foot rests and all. Older repaint, runs and drives well. $750 SOLD! I’ll be hauling this to the show regardless.

3 pointsSame here. When I fill up my cans the first couple of gallons go in the car. This flushes any ethanol out of the pipes.

3 pointsI got the first 4 sections of dock into the lake yesterday. These weren't too bad, as they connect end to end. Got the last three in today. Not quite so easy, though. These 8 foot sections connect side to side - a bit more work to fit together. Working in deeper water, too. Good workout, though. Wading in waist deep water and lifting and manuvering the dock sections into place. At one point I pulled my 3/4" combo wrench out of my pocket and heard a splash behind me. The 9/16" wrench also in in that pocket came out as well. Nope, I didn't find it. Have to find a 'fishing' magnet now. Probably a 'lake tool' I'd ought to have anyhow. Scooped some leaves out of the lake at the shoreline, leaving some cart work for Morgan, the 14-8 tomorrow.

3 pointsBefore going to that extent I have an alternate suggestion, not that rebuilding the carb isn't a good idea. But a short term fix may be to simply drop the carb sediment bowl and clean it out. Also the long fuel line from the fuel tank may need replacing. Of course you'll know when you do as @Ed Kennell suggested. Those strainers in the bottom of the tank are known to rust completely shut. But anyways, my old Magnum engine powered 310-8 was notorious for getting accumulated condensation in the sediment bowl (or sucked up from the tank on the first start) after a winter nap. It's a southern thing I guess with the crazy humid climate.
-
3 pointsI used the 316-8 and home made equipment to remove the grass, This is what it looks like now. Didn't get any befor pictures, but it was getting bad along the edges, and starting to take over the center. Used this ripper along the edges and down the center and the prlveriser over the rest of it.

2 pointsWhile using a brush saw on our Ky. property recently, I decided that a garden tractor sized sickle bar would make that chore much easier. Last night, I stumbled on to a YouTube video of a guy using a Sthil shaft trimmer with a hedge trimmer head on it to clear underbrush. I'll have to look into that to see if it will fit my Sthil trimmer. Today, while walking the dog, I got to wondering if that Sthil hedge trimmer attachment could be adapted to a Wheel Horse for use as a light duty sickle mower? Might be an alternative to the relatively rare sickle mower attachment.

2 pointsGet ready to greet old friends and make some new ones Wednesday. We will gather at the breakfast bar area of the Quality Inn, 1435 Doron Drive (Exit 20 from I-81) around 6:00pm, Wednesday, June 18 to swap stories and eat some vittles of your choosin'. This eliminates the need to unhook trailers, figure out who has an extra seat for a ride to the restaurant, and we can stay as long as we wish. The majority seem to be most enthusiastic about the meet and greet with a meal being a secondary consideration. Meals can be ordered for delivery. I have a small list of places you may want to check out or you can Door Dash, Uber Eats, or brown bag as you wish. Little Vince's has a good variety on the menu and they deliver, there is a $ 3.00 delivery fee. https://www.littlevincespizza.com/order CM Pigout was suggested by @wallfish, Not sure if they do individual orders or not. https://www.cmpigoutcatering.com/menu.html Italian Village has to-go meals, they deliver though there was no fee disclosed https://order.toasttab.com/online/italian-village Hickory Ridge has to-go meals but doesn't list a delivery service. https://order.toasttab.com/online/hickory-ridge-restaurant-chambersburg#!/ So far @squonk, @rjg854, @Pullstart, @clueless, @Handy Don, @wallfish, @stevebo, @fast88pu, @Horse Newbie, @whtractors24, @evanloock, @adsm08, @hcminis, and @953 nut have responded. @sqrlgtr has requested a doggie bag be brought to the show for him on Thursday, we'll have to see what we can do. There is always room for more, how bout it @Jrblanke, @Wheel-N-It, @857 horse and any others who would like to come. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Have a safe trip.

2 pointsI’m the guy with the 416-H with the 60” deck and 6” front wheels. Once I got lazy and set up some blocks then drove over the deck to put it on. I will never do that again, for various reasons. If you were able to get it under your Work Horse you definitely would not be able to steer very much, and it would be a lot of work just to move the deck. I see you have a back rack, but that will be a lot of weight cantilevered off the back of the tractor. Steering may become a problem with that as well. A little pull behind cart may be your best option, or a small front end loader to carry it.

2 pointsLast night/today after work, and Father’s Day festivities. I got the C141 ready to get the frame ends welded up at some point this week. Once that’s done, it’s more grinding on the throttle slot, and running that cable to the carb. Then a battery, etc….
-
2 pointsWe can get it under the tractor. Don’t you worry about that!
-
2 pointsI’ll have this fairly nice 1642 at the show. I’d like to have $750.00 for it. Runs and drives good. New carburetor and fuel pump. Make a reasonable offer. Least I can say is no. Could be open for round hood trades as well
-
2 pointsI guess I’ll take it anyway Lane. It may be useful as a template to build my own as well!

2 pointsHi all. As an ex police crash investigation officer I was very interested to watch Pile Up on TV this evening. It was a programme created by a British university to study a multi vehicle motorway collision in real time using remote controlled full size vehicles driven on a section of simulated motorway at speeds up to 85mph (our speed limit is 70 mph). They used 8 moving vehicles driven in all three lanes which approached two vehicles stationary on the hard shoulder. A close coupled large goods vehicle and trailer then pulled across all three lanes blocking the carriageway with only 200m to go for the lead vehicle in the pack. The result was predictably carnage, with no vehicle escaping unscathed and at least two sustaining fatal casualties. Four of the remote drivers were untrained members of the motoring public with no idea that a crash had been set up. They thought they were helping with auto driving technology. It was a fascinating programme, exceptionally well planned and filmed so that all aspects of the crash were captured. They then released a crash investigation officer onto the scene to try and make sense of the pile up, he had not seen the crash prior to examining the scene. This was to test an actual investigation based on the mass of data they had about it. He managed to decipher every mark and transfer to explain how the crash unfolded, an incident that took less than a second. I told my wife what I deduced before his explanation and I was bang on, she was suitably impressed. It was a truly international effort too. Vehicles from the USA were included and investigators from there were on the team. It's well worth watching if you can get access to it. Some pretty sobering conclusions for anyone else who gets into a vehicle and puts their life on the line. https://www.cranfield.ac.uk/press/news-2025/inside-the-worlds-biggest-crash-test This is the universities Web page about the experiment.
