10 pointsWell you guys asked so I finally took some pictures tonight. Dad and I have been working on this for months. It was a mess. Pump and cylinder was missing. Rockshaft also. Totally jacked up steering column that was. Belt covers were missing and flimsy tin ones were added. Your typical gas tank and battery location swap so underneath seat was hacked out. Toolbox was hacked and rusted. Big mess but it was grandpas. He purchased tractor jacked up. Motor was swapped with a Briggs at some point. Well here it is today. I have made and fabricated a lot on this tractor so far.

5 pointsLooking good. I dont ever seem to see really nice 953s or 1054s at shows. Glad to see another one be a "shiny" tractor. Also, being your grandpas tractor means so much too. Seems like they were mostly worked. Im thankful to Buckeyes for selling me such a nice 953 at such a fair price.

5 pointsHere are my non-scientific results. The oil sat from 9:37a.m. Sunday until 1:43p.m. today. I attempted to poured the oil from the glass pitcher back into the original container through a funnel lined with a paper coffee filter. The oil was too thick to go through the filter. So I got a fine mesh brass coffee filter and poured through that. It was very slow, but all the oil went through. There was absolutely ZERO sediment left in the glass pitcher, and surprisingly, no sediment in the filter. Bottom of pitcher Bottom of filter Conclusion: The old oil had no sediment, and I am not hesitant to use it.

5 pointsIf he’s willing to patient, it might be worth filling the transmission up completely with diesel or kerosene, and letting it sit a while. I had a stuck engine a while back, and filled every part of it with used engine oil. I put it away for one year and managed to free it up enough to fire it!

4 pointsNational Egg Day on June 3 finds eggs finally breaking out of their shell. Eggs had some tough years as health experts fretted about the high cholesterol content. But after a revision of the American Heart Association’s guidelines in 2000, the health benefits of eggs seemed to outweigh the concerns. The AHA says healthy adults can enjoy an egg per day and easily remain within the daily cholesterol limit. Also, a single egg has only 75 calories, which is great for those looking to lose weight. And the seven grams of protein in an average egg almost makes this a superfood with a great calorie-to-protein ratio. So those of us who are big fans of poached, scrambled, over easy, hard-boiled, fried, sunny-side-up, or soft-boiled eggs can feel free to use National Egg Day to utter that timeless phrase, “How do you want your eggs?” And it doesn’t matter if it’s 7am, 7pm, or somewhere in between. Eggs are great to eat anytime … or any day, for that matter.

4 pointsMy 1977 B-100 (same rims as the B-80) were an off-white. When the tires were removed, the inside of the rims were color matched to a powder-coat color called Oyster White, RAL-1013. Here is a picture of them back on 2010.

4 pointsThey would have been gloss white from the factory, they have just faded to a semi-gloss. International Harvester off white is a pretty close match.

4 pointsLettuce Wayne & your .22 pistol Sounds like a personal problem ... I know damned well you support the second amendment ... One got in the neighbor's garage & 1500 worth of damage to a car. Chewed on a wiring harness. I got it and she baked me some cookies!

3 pointsSo... one question - did the coffee filters work for the morning coffee after their oil separation duties?
-
3 pointsSee now that's what we're talking about... RC driven, chickens trained to move with the unit, spinners for special effects... @Pullstart you best get the indoor plumbing or something else cool on yours or @AlexR gonna have your chicks flocking to his pad...

3 pointsI'll have to try your batter. I always roasted my raccoons and they get a bit greasy. I can't wait to try batter dipped and deep fried.
-
3 pointsYep. Mine are Silverstone (a close copy) And no accident that in the ad the '63 FORD is moving and the ’63 CHEVY is stuck. Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone were good friends and did a lot of business together.
-
3 pointsAnd here was my grandson Mason, modeling the linen beige hat back then. If you would like an updated hat model, just send me one and I'll put it on the same Mason now.
-
3 pointsThat's good to know. RR176. About 10 bucks cheaper than a OEM Kohler.

3 points@8ntruck I’ll see you in the bumps and bruises pal! I went through the 13 pages of buy sell trade and made a list of what I committed to. Forgot about most of it!

3 pointsThe amount of condensation inside a tranny is surprising and after 15 years of widely variable temps and humidity who knows what rusted in place
-
3 pointsTough decision. This picture is perfect for the compare. I really like the white kinda matching the decal white. I also want to keep it somewhat factory but it is a worker. Thanks everyone for the help. I will post a picture when I get done. I will have many sets to do as I have about 4 sets of rear wheels now. I guess I could mix it up for fun. Steve
-
3 points"Need a condenser for a 1964 Chevy Bel-air with a strait 6cyl engine." This statement will get you a condenser that will work with battery ignition from most auto parts stores. Might have to extend the wire at worst.

3 pointsHere is a picture of my two tractors painted Rust-Oleum one is navajo white now cottage white the other is just regular plain white. I have since painted the plain white one the cottage white color I like it better.

3 pointsYes I used that International Harvester off white on my B080 Dan1. But Rustoleum Antigue White is not too far off !

3 pointsStrange My parts manual for KT Series 2 doesn't show this spec number. Went to the Rehlko (that is what Kohler calls it self now) site that shows the Spec number as being made for Toro but the no longer seems to show parts breakouts for KT series engines. They still do parts break out for K singles. Parts Tree doesn't recognize the Spec number either.. Based on previous searches the thrust bearing was very rarely used in KTs and Magnum twins. I know of no way to tell from an external look. Guess you better stick with electric PTO

3 pointsGroundhog cocaine! When the Amish bought the farm beside me to raise sweet corn and cantaloupe , the groundhogs needed to be exterminated. I trapped over twenty each spring for three years to get them under control. His oldest son Danny is now seven and took over the groundhog control. In addition to destroying the produce, the holes pose a real danger to the horses.

3 pointsThat engine looks familiar. FYI, it's going to need a fuel pump.
-
3 pointshi oldworkhorse, where did you get the muffler shields for the stacks? they look great! regards mike

3 pointsFirst after work I took the front angled bracket off the C 141. I had to take the hood, and its bracket off, and the front axle, but I eventually got it. I also bolted the engine to the frame so its 100+ pound self, wouldn’t squash me when putting the new drive pulley on. ‘I got some Hydro parts from @ebinmaine so I started to figure out where they went. I eventually figured out where they went with EB’s help. I painted the drive pulley for the C141 and tried a trick where you put grease where you don’t want paint to go it worked kinda well. Just a little touch up once I wiped off the grease and the pulley should work well.
-
3 pointsLooks ok from a few feet away. I'm struggling with paint lately... But the light looks pretty good, if I do say so!

3 pointsI woke EJ the 8N up from his winter hibernation. Did a little brush hogging, and moved some limestone blocks around with a strong arm. Had a bit of an oopsie, though. Found myself rolling backwards down a hill in neutral with marginal brakes. Took an unexpected ride into the puckerbrush before I ended up against a tree. Got lucky - nothing damaged, no injuries. I've really got to at least get the brakes cleaned - pretty sure the axle seals are kaput.

2 pointsReally what it comes down to is this. IT'S YOUR TRACTOR. Have fun. Be safe. Enjoy the machines in whatever way you can. Trina and I have done five full frame off restorations and several mechanical only ones as well. ALL of ours are workers. They get cleaned up and painted right. Then they get scratched up and repainted later. It's all good. I'm not generally a fan of dark colored wheels on anything at all but @Sparky has done several sets in a sort of battleship grey. They look sharp too.
-
2 pointsYeah, got one of them too. Volquartson 2# trigger. Not the drop in. WAY too expensive! Bought the parts and rolled my own. Extended mag release, not the big paddle. Bolt hold open on the last round. A sweet shooter.
-
2 pointsHey Teddy, it's been a long time since you have been on here. Good to hear from you. Pull the shifter and look in there and see what it looks like (see pick above). I would think nothing is broke, just surface rust keeping things form moving. I would not try to start it with the drive belt on. You could fill it up with diesel and keep trying to move the shifter once in a while. But, you know, the best thing is to drop the trans and open it up. You will probably only need the case gasket and a wire brush. BTW...How are you doing these days???
-
2 pointsI did drain the cooling water out last winter. Mag drain plug & refill. Gets along well with the rest of the herd and motor sure does run good. Best come get it before it grows roots!

2 pointsThe Wheelhorse spindles are the 1" taller pieces from 300 Series. I use those for extra ground clearance on our rough terrain. The trailer spindles I've had for several years. I bought those before I read that a hub could be held on using spacers or even use a bearing set with 3/4" I.D. I have another setup with identical parts to modify one more tractor.
-
2 pointsYep flywheel or starter has to come off. A Briggs vert I had it was easier to take the flywheel off or it was the wheel had to come off to get the starter out I CRS. Regardless I go for the fly wheel to inspect the stator and clean back there. Plastic but I think that's the way they all are. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0032R6ILS?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

2 pointsHmmm, I was self employed so those benefits weren't part of my package. However, if a fellow is self motivated, self employment has other advantages. Now that I'm retired after 52 years, it's pretty nice.
