11 pointsSome guy @nylyon was looking for a tractor and some other guy (me ) had one to sell that belonged to a co-worker. We struck up a deal on a nice 310 with a 36”RD and Karl picked it up this morning. In that last pic he’s looking deeeeeeep into his wallet wondering where all his $$$ went…and I’m smiling all the way to the bank ! Always good to see ya Karl!

5 pointsNational Sea Monkey Day falls on May 16 every year to celebrate these little creatures. Sea Monkeys were created in a lab many years ago but since then they’ve become a common household pet. Many of us have happy memories of awaiting the delivery of our first Sea Monkeys in the mail. They are really popular with children and adults alike and, at one point, they were even heavily marketed by comic books.
-
5 pointsAh, now I see. How about I cover you for becoming a supporter then? I'd prefer you put the money have into your tractor. We need young members as most of us are all old farts.

5 pointsNew York revenue boys have tagged this thread to insure the applicable combined 110% taxes are paid... @Sparky actually lost $79.00 and @nylyon will be getting a visit shortly to reassess his personal property taxes... should only increase about $375 / year or so...

3 pointsThis has been offered as a trade to a Blazer I have on Marketplace. Any thoughts on value, attachments, etc? It would be fun to add to the Pond family, even if it’s on the other side of the family feud

3 pointsTwo Wheel Horses came from old Homer's backyard. I restored the C-125 but the 77 C-120 I dragged out of the weeds sat in the shed for when one of the boys could use it and that time has come. I had already gone through the engine and trans and the 42 RD deck was rebuilt. Still, the oil was so old (had not run). Drained it. Chinesium pump useless. Installed a vac pump. Front tires don't hold air for more than a few hours. Amazon had a $69 deal for two on rims! Rears are still the original hard as a rock Carlisles. Charged the battery and some hardware here and there and she's ready. She'll mow a 1 acre meadow on a flood plain with a running brook and catfish pond. Nice to give her a good home and I know she'll be well taken care of.

3 pointsYou can write off a trip to Arruba if you happen to leave a Business Card on the counter at the Airport!!

3 pointsPlus drive it around and heat up the hydro first. I have seen those do a decent job with cool oil and then slow as the warm up a bit.

3 pointsHis gasket sets are top quality. Much better than any other I've found anywhere online. Also his ring sets, valves and pistons have been excellent.

3 pointsLooking for that magic bullet. I've been putting this off for a while, but finally decided it was time. I dug into the motion control linkage on my C-160, and got as far as the cam plate. The retaining screws are mounted solid. It looks like someone else has had their way with them, with no luck. To wit, they apparently applied gobs of copper metallic grease to everything. I cleaned most of it out, and hit the screws with a generous amount of pb blaster, still won't budge. Lather, rinse, repeat for now.
-
3 pointsThanks Oliver for the advice. Yes, it has the hydro transmission and the decals were on it when we looked at it. I agree it could use a new paint job. I will go back and look at it again with your suggestions. I was thinking of offering $500-$550.

3 pointsLooks great original, but you will have to repaint those rear rims. Poor horse is probable feeling abused with that yellow paint.

3 pointsMy dump cart releases every time a cat passes wind. Reticfied it with some weld on the edge of the release handle and a heavier spring from my stash of Power King parts.

2 pointsDid some maintenance on 654. Put a new muffler on so its quieter now. Took steering components apart & made some repairs. Steering was getting really sloppy. Made a huge improvement after repaired.

2 pointsYUP ! Sold, your name is now red so your storage should make it easier to post pics and videos. We mostly upload videos to Youtube and then link them here as videos can suck up a lot of storage space.

2 pointsI have brakes! I removed the band and deglazed the drum with a 4" high speed sander. Then set the brakes to factory specs and they work again. Thank you all for your advice.

2 pointsdrill a small 1/16 hole and drive in a self tapping screw (#6 or so should do) and use that with a pair of pliers to pop the seal out , once you get it out a bit far enough can use a screwdriver driven in the sides to pry the rest of the way out.. I've also sharpened the end of an old flat screwdriver and hammer it in between the seal and the case housing (risky though , needs care to not damage the housing just enough to fit a thicker screwdriver in and collapse that side of the seal inwards to loosen the seal all around and it comes out easier. there's also actual seal pullers you can buy to do the job.

2 pointsPrepared for the annual Peach Bottom Power Plant fishing derby. OOPS. sorry I thought I posted this in the "What did you do today" thread.
-
2 pointsI'll offer two suggestions. 1. Use a more aggressive penetrating oil. ATF and acetone mix. Kroil. One of the better brands.... 2. Try to TIGHTEN those screws just a hair before you try to loosen them.

2 pointshi horsin'around, i had to use a phillips bit in a socket and 1/4 inch drive ratchet to loosen mine. just a suggestion. regards mike

2 pointsOriginal owner Wheel Horses that are nearly fifty years old are hard to come by. A little armature repaint and a more comfortable seat shouldn't be a problem, it looks like it is well maintained.

2 pointsMorning weigh in. 250.9 lbs. 272.6 - 250.9 = 21.7 lbs down. 24 - 21.7 = 2.3 1 week to go on this initial goal. I have 2.3 lbs to lose in 7 days. For the last several weeks I've been losing weight slowly. Drop a few pounds. Stay level for a few days. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. For this last week I'm getting back into the longer fasting periods again AND dropping to low carb. The reduction of glucose in your body also causes a water loss from your cells. That water loss is obviously a net loss of weight pounds. Most folks have to train into fasting periods longer than 12 to 14 hours. I'm no exception. I've been extending them slowly. I've managed to get my hunger dialed way back again. Yesterday I did a 20 hour fast (not counting morning coffee). I was hungry around hour number 16 but that quickly subsided by hour 17. The plan this weekend is to do 3 more longer fasting periods. Good protein meals in between. Very few carbs.

2 pointsIn fact EB & 953 nut nailed it all. One word of warning tho they all look better in pictures. Many times I have went to score and the the tractor had some serious deficiencies but looked good in pictures. A real downer especially when some travel time & gas money is in play. Only thing a guy can do is work on the selling price if not as advertised. The thing that would worry me is the front hitch. It possibly says farmer welding with other possible molestation & cobblements. Rims another one. My guess is the hitch monkey business was also used as a push bumper. Might explain the missing headlight lens and the toe out. The deck belt tensioner has also been altered. Trouble is one cannot tell just from pictures. Unlike others here I am a true orginal freak and make no apologies for being one. Not trying to burst your bubble, especially when trying to convert you from the dark side, just my On the other hand I picked up a orginal unmolested 1267 for @Mike'sHorseBarn and it was indeed as good as pics suggested.

2 pointsI got a 520 hub for ya Soda... trade for tires? ... I'll give ya the whole thing for a root beer. It might be jinxed tho... Go fish on the rims tho.

2 pointsWell you can’t say you like to support the local guy and then not support the local guy? And if your on the phone with him then there’s no doubt your asking his advice? Are you watching any of his YouTube videos? Still not worth spending a couple bucks more for that great personal service? I have no issue spending a few more bucks at the local places/smaller stores over the conglomerates. Not saying I never shop at Amazon or at Walmart. There will come a day when my income becomes “fixed” and I wont be able to, but I’m doing it now while I can. Just tried to order a start/gen rebuild kit off Isavetractors website, “out of stock” unfortunately. Hope it’s just temporary and not because he can’t compete with Amazon
-
2 pointsI’d say if it checks out as previously mentioned and you can get it for around $600 that’s a fair price. The C-141 Automatic is a very capable tractor. The 1978-79 C-Series tractors are some of my favorite Wheel Horses. Buy that tractor and stick around here for the best advice, and the nicest people on the internet.
-
2 pointsPost some pictures so we can see what you’re dealing with. I’m thinking you may have Egyptian onions otherwise known as ‘walking onions’. They grow in clumps and will get a small bunch of little ‘seed’ sets on the top of the stalk as they mature. In my experience they are fairly mild early in the season but can get rather potent as they mature.

2 pointsI installed one set on Horse Apples. Had the engine completely out though. Wasn't trying to install without removing the engine. It does help if you loosen the brackets that bolt to the frame. Every thing loose until all the bolts are started, then tighten.
-
2 pointsBut you are exactly "in the market" right now with needing help and suggestions. It's what keeps the lights on around here and allows people to help you! Take a look at all the names in RED that have been and are currently trying to help you so far. They are supporters. It's not necessarily about whether you can post more pics and videos or not.

2 pointsThat is a fine looking . Finding a one owner survivor that is nearly sixty years old is great. One of the best parts of being a Wheel Horse owner is the quality that was built into them. Standard bearings and seals that can be bought anywhere were used and we have several vendors providing aftermarket parts if needed. The other great thing about being a Wheel Horse owner is the support you will find on this site.

2 pointsI remounted the front tiller. I had mounted it on my working plow frame and had to switch from tiller to dozer blade using the same frame. I had this old short plow frame with no blade and the front angle sector was rust welded fast. Perfect use to mount the tiller. I had to trim the frame rear a bit to fit the axle bracket and redo the two support legs and the belt tensioner. Now I have a dozer blade tractor and a tiller tractor ready to go full time.
