So wife and I took the Rv to Goliad Texas State Park for a few days. Our Rv neighbors were from Sheboygan Wisconsin. They have been wintering in lower South Texas for about 20 years. Returning to Wisconsin later than normal this year. We spent a couple of evenings with them around our camp fire. Really nice couple. So @WHX?? and @Achto have gotten a lot of kidding about Cheese Curds. To be truthful I’ve had no idea what they actually are. @SylvanLakeWHNot a thing here in Texas. So I had to ask our new friends if Cheese Curds were like a type of cheese puff. They had a good laugh and explained there more like rubbery/chewy/squeaky 1” chunks cut off the top of the cheese when it’s made. I think I’ll stick to Cheetos for my cheese treats.

Almost forgot to add, I spotted this poor neglected Wheelhorse when we were in town. GT2500 Anniversary Special 8 speed. It was under a lean to roof attached to an old garage. Looks like it hasn’t moved in a few years. No truck or trailer and 4 hours from home. Love the wooden seat mount. Would be interesting to know how it got down here this far south. It’s about 10+ hours to where a dealer would have been in NE Texas.

With that engine and a three-point hitch the only thing I can think of is a GT14.

Cut a little with a 42 in wheel horse sickle bar and worked on a 46in didier hydra sickle.

Well I thought I would share some before and after pics. It's not done, still have to do the front wheels. Originally they came in Orange. Someone at some point gave it a paint job of red and silver. It was bad. I usually don't paint but it was in such bad shape that I thought I'd quickly blend it all in red. Regal Red of course. Looks better then it did. I didn't take anything apart. Painted it all right on the tractor.

National Limerick Day, held every year on May 12, pays homage to the man who made the short poems widespread — Edward Lear. Lear was an English poet who is known for his nonsense-style, often writing with made-up words, telling tales of “Quangle-Wangles,” and “runcible spoons.” He wrote 212 limericks, most of which didn’t follow the specific rhyming rules of the style. Although the by definition limericks have five lines, Lear’s were often shown in three or four, to give space to his accompanying illustrations and drawings. With just fine lines, the first two rhyming with the fifth line, and third and fourth lines rhyming together, limericks are quick, funny poems. Most limericks begin by describing a person and place, and then the rest of the lines describe that person’s actions. Limericks can be vulgar or crude, and are often inappropriate. Give it a try, here is a little ditty I came up with. When I was a young lad We were shopping for a new toy for Dad I wanted a Wheel Horse Because it is the best of course But instead, he got a green one, that was bad!

There is no real acquired taste for cheese curds. If you like cheese, you'll like curds. Unlike some cheese that is best aged, curds are best fresh. Good chilled, but best if never chilled & at room temp ( never chilled at room temp is when they squeak on your teeth when you eat them ) The local cheese house makes their curds every Thursday, so that is the day that I will stop to buy some. To up the ante you can also dip them in breading and then deep fry them. Oooy, Gooy, crunchy goodness. NOTE: the curds must be frozen before breading and deep frying, other wise the cheese melts out & you are left empty breading balls. These are soooo good. My favorite is deep fried pepper jack curds.

The wheel spins on a step on the back of the nut, if it is not on the nut properly it will get tightened against the block pinching it tight. The nut should tighten the bracket for the throttle cable but the wheel fits over a step on the back of the nut to allow it to spin. I have had an issue where the bracket for the throttle cable was bent and rubbed on the wheel causing resistance. Had to straiten things out to cure that issue.

Trina and her mom put up an awning over the back door so the Momma can enjoy the deck more often. They did the full assembly of the unit in the ground. I helped with the hanging on the house part. Even the dog helped ... with box inspection.

My brother and I took my mom out for a bike ride for Mother's Day. She loved it! We did over 12 miles. I kept asking if she wanted to turn back, she said no till we hit the 6.25 mile mark, then pedaled the whole way back without issue Moms 81 years old.

Cheese curds were a part of my childhood. When the transition from farmers sending milk cans to the dairy processing plant to bulk tanks being pumped into tankers the processors began to pay less for milk from cans. The Dairyman's league set up a cheese factory that accepted milk from cans so most small farms brought milk to them. When you dropped off the milk they always had bowls of curds on the counter, they were so gooood. Thanks for giving me this trip down memory lane.

Hi, This is my first time on the forum. I have a Wheel Horse garden tractor that has a Kohler K321S engine, based upon the engine nameplate. It was my daddy's; and, he left it to me. The tractor, itself, has lugged rear tires, headlights, what appears to be an electric clutch for operation of the mower (dash refers to it as a PTO), cigarette lighter, hydrostatic transmission, power lift for mower deck and 3-point hitch, and the previously mentioned three point hitch. It also has a sheave arrangement for drive a belt driven tiller. I'm fairly certain it's at least 30 years old, if not considerably more. Could someone direct me to what the model of this garden tractor might be; as, I can find no markings for that. Thanks, Greg

My company is selling 2 - 40' shipping containers. My wife has been wanting some extra storage so I purchased one for $400.00. I started grading the site where it will be placed next to my shop so I can cut an opening and have easy access.

SUPER busy day for Trina.... like usual. She and her mom ripped out the back deck. Zoom in on this pic. Look under the doors. Notice that there's only enough space under that aluminum door frame to put one board. After we rebuilt this doorway and installed the deck a few years ago, occasionally on a hard rain we will get water inside the basement. Not a lot, but of course any is bad. We are lowering the deck surface several inches to create a splash back area against the house underneath the door. We will also be removing the whole doorway and resealing the whole surface all the way around. They hauled out several loads of that fill and made it into a path headed out the back yard. Also, we went and got some 🐄 🐮 💩

A good hardware store would have the 7/16 fine bolts and you can get the lug nuts at any Auto Parts store. Get them for a 68 Camaro

Cheap insurance - I carry a magnet mount trailer light set from HF in case I have lighting issues... have had them for years and used a couple times usually on boats when the bulbs burn out... also have used a few times when weather was really bad and wanted some additional lights... use one of these to do it: Had a sailboat trailer that I zip tied these to it and had "permanent" trailer lights...

Whew am I glad you stomped on that Zig ... Better you than me to try and find stalls ...

The rest of the parts came this morning, and I quickly installed them. Put the deck under the 416-8, and set it up about ¼” nose down. This deck is now SUPER quiet and smooth, can barely tell it’s spinning. Was able to cut the grass across the street (I just put down herbicide on mine) and it’s a beautiful cut. It took a lot of time and effort, but it’s all worth it in the end!

What with sewers backing up and the wife going away on holiday I've been pretty busy. So, I managed to do some woodwork in the bedroom, it's taking shape nicely. I also did some plumbing work, piping in a new radiator and swapping the feed over on one of the circuits. The heating firm were supposed to be doing it today, but the plumber went sick so I decided to do it myself. Draining the system was the hardest bit.

I did this little modification to give it more throw. You must make sure that brass nut shoulder lets the ring move freely like the others have said.

What’s not to love about the only food in the world that you are actually supposed to deep fry when frozen!?!?

Cursed at 3 of my show tractors. Had 1st local show of year on Saturday. Took off work Friday to do some errands but mostly to load tractors on trailer. Here's how it went...... RJ decided to self destruct the pull start mechanism while it was running. Also the throttle at just about any setting seems to be hitting governor causing a surge. Seems to get better as engine warms. 753 started/generator probably needs at least cleaned but most likely rebuilt. It won't always turn strong enough to get engine started (battery is new) 953 now leaking fuel from carb bowl. Lastly I went to mow lawn w/654 & something looked funny with left rear wheel. Upon inspection the set bolt for hub came loose & wheel was about to fall off........ Luckily that was an easy fix. Doubt I'll get everything fixed in time for big show unfortunately. My dad was in hospital since mid-January & passed 2weeks ago so I'm so far behind on projects that need done at house, shop, & hangar. Been spending a lot of time helping my mom with things she wants/needs done. I may try to fly or drive up for a few hours on Friday to attend show if time/weather allows. I'm disappointed but I gotta prioritize what has to be done instead of what I wanna do.🙁

I take the nut , bracket and wheel off when painting an engine. Then wire wheel them so they are nice and shiny and they don't get painted at all.

Here's my 2005 315-8 that I purchased in 2009 with 101 hours. The Command 15 is quieter and smoother than the other K's and the Magnum I have and spins the 48" decks easily. I can't attest the longevity compared to the others but so far it's been flawless in the 16 years I've had it.

There fixed that. Actually being in line to get in is enjoyable. Get the jump on yakking with the others waiting. Walk around and stretch after that long ride. The Dino once told me Thursday is the best day to be there and he is right. Friday flies by awful quick.

Finished up phase one of a little landscaping project creating a decorative curvy brick edge between the grass and the “flower bed” if one could call it that. Placed mulch. Much improved. Got under the kitchen sink to replace the broken faucet set. Getting out the old stuff (which was crappy when I installed it) is half the fun while contorted on one’s back in a confined space. And then I remembered I had a Sawzall and things went much better after putting that to good use. Ah, tools! I like tools. They’re great!

Mine fires up quick and easy, it’s smooth and quiet. Will it stand the test of time like the K series or the Magnums?? No idea. @ebinmaine I had it up at Jim’s shin-dig once.

The Command starts easy and runs smoother by far (overhead valves definitely help), but I will put an asterisk by that. I put electronic ignition on my K341 which makes it fire up really quick and run much smoother. Each engine series has their strengths though.

Thank you, that would explain why 8-32 didn't get us very far in our search. It's never easy doing this with 3rd hand through my kid as they always miss those details. They were going to scrap it because of the trans and inability to find more info using that as a model # but I convinced him to hold off until I can get more info since it's does look like a neat little tractor that doesn't deserve to be melted down!

If you are posting using a Smartphone, take a picture of the tractor. Where you see the paperclip below, click on the "choose files" link, and add the picture that you took. Pretty simple. Having said that, my guess is that you have a GT14.

That's my plan, already have a new pan gasket on order. It turns out the entire float piece of the oil level sensor came off and has been rattling around in the crank case. Picture attached is what the sensor looked like when I removed it yesterday. That'll be replaced with a pipe plug! I'm hoping the plastic hasn't gotten packed into the crank bearings but my plan is to pull the engine off the pan and try to flush everything out with brake clean. I may pull the head and pop the piston out to make sure plastic isn't stuck in the rings, but that'll depend on initial inspection. I can see 2 big chunks of the float in the pan but there's no way to get them out. Tried flushing the pan out with some old 2 cycle mix a couple times but all the plastic shavings are stuck to the cast iron. Hoping this is a relatively quick job, need to get back to mowing the end of the week!

When I rewired my trailer after adding brakes, I too needed a 7-pin connector. After shopping TSC, Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart, I decided to bite the bullet and buy from Amazon. What I got was a 4-pin to 7-pin adapter, $16.29 delivered, and a 7-pin pigtail for the trailer. $28.99 delivered. After inspecting, I found the quality every bit as good (or bad) as any of the others, but at a much lower price. If I were using the trailer every day I might consider upgrading, but so far so good.

New to me, 417-8 w/ rototiller and 42” RD deck. Oooh, and WH tractor cover! (I have never seen one!). The implements are in amazing shape! The tractor has got 974 hours on it. The tractor has no lift cable for the rototiller. The points are toast, i have ordered new points. It has electric lift, I’m not familiar with it… is it good for lifting up heavy items? Like a 2 stage snowblower or rototiller? Here’s a picture. I will get more when the tractor. Im going to get it tomorrow!

About two weeks in advance I will do a Wednesday Dinner opinion poll to see how many people want to go where for the pre-show dinner. I am open to any suggestions including Italian Village and the Hickory Ridge. I have eaten at a few other places in the Chambersburg area that could workout. I will include links to the restaurant menus to help people decide. if you have other suggestions let me know via PM and they will be included. Franchise places like Texas Roadhouse aren't set up for groups like ours that want to hang out and talk after dinner so I won't include them.

You have a picture or two to share? I have a 315-8, run a 42” deck it and it’s been a good machine for the 4 years or so that I’ve owned it. Has half the hours than the one your looking at. I don’t think 1145 hours is “low hours”, some folks will disagree. How it was maintained helps determine its value.
