11 pointsSo I picked this up yesterday. 10ft little fishing boat. Came with trolling motor and battery. Need to clean it up some and go and register it. Fits in the back of the truck. No need for a trailer. Weighs about 150lbs. Great little boat. Hope to be out on the water soon. Sold my canoe last year, figured I give this a try.

9 pointsYeah I live off Lake Ontario. There is a bay off the lake and a nice " creek " that runs into the bay. We canoe up the creek it's beautiful back there. Plenty of birds , ducks, hawks, swans, even some bald eagles to see. Fishing ain't bad either. Here are some photos of some past canoe trips.

8 pointsSelling a 310 for someone, brought it home, gave it a scrubbing, got it running, mowed a couple strips and assessed what it needs. Positive battery connection…passed with flying colors

7 pointsOne of our other pups, this is my Ellie. She's a wire haired weenie dog, and has more personality than I do. She thinks any and all toys and treats are for her even while dodging the 3 other inside dogs. She is definitely a lap dog, but rules even the 80lb German Shepherd. She is a mess!

7 pointsI need another tractor like I need another hole in my head, but there is a specific reason for this one. Nearly all my bigger machines have receiver hitches now, so none of those will work well with a clevis hitch or my tiller. There isn't clearance for the rear lift at all. So this tractor is specifically for lifting stuff like moldboards, cultivators, and my tiller. And it will have to option to use a 3-point hitch as well. All will work off the manual lift with no down pressure. My Bronco has hydraulic lift and has down pressure on it's 3-point, and unless I suddenly gain 500lbs, down pressure is pretty useless on these small tractors. It's impossible to know how much to apply without spinning the rear wheels. So tonight I started fabbing the lift assembly inside the factory center console. I reinforced the entire assembly with 1/4 inch steel, and will add reinforcement in the lift arm/ bell crank area as well. Also added the 1 inch steel rear pivot bushings that the upper lift arms will set in. Getting all of that aligned was a serious pain, but it's all good now.

7 pointsStairwell is enclosed now. Used every single 2x10 I got including the ones I pulled up from the floor that I saved. So it was just the right amount, I still have quite a bit of 2x8's I can use for the chicken coop.

7 pointsGave the 310-8 a workout. Nuther tree blew down in the field. The new Carlisle Turfs nuver spun a wheel. Cut, split, and stacked. Now for some cervical maintenance.

6 pointsNot a bad idea at all. I'll look into that once all the other stuff gets in there. A little color helps some of the inside frame show up... there will be more added, but at least it's visible now.

4 pointsTear the Tags Off the Mattress Day is annually observed on May 9. This is not an event for the timid, so if you crave excitement and like living on the edge, forgo those posted warnings from the government and rip off those tags! Do the pillows too if you like. And in case you’re wondering if removing a tag is illegal, be advised that it is for some. The notification that the removal of mattress tags is punishable by law is not directed to consumers but the mattress manufacturers. Have you ever wondered what the purpose of a mattress tag is? Well, it is to let consumers know exactly what is inside the mattress, i.e. what it is made of. They are there to serve the consumer. A mattress may be manufactured with a material some people are allergic to, so this information must be available for everybody. A mattress tag is a way to protect consumers from what they think they are paying for. When the government required that manufacturers add tags to a mattress’s ‘ingredients,’ there were some who weren’t using high-quality materials and, of course, didn’t want consumers to know, so they ripped off the tags before the mattresses hit the retailers’ showroom floors. It’s for that reason that a required notice was added on every tag, stating that it’s punishable by law to remove or damage a tag.

4 pointsCame in late to work...to pick up this nice planter an hour from home..even scored the row marker. Any leads to chisel points? Should be the same as brinly...

4 pointsNice fish! Catching walleye in Canada is almost too easy A 1 man 6 walleye limit in Oklahoma that are all 19-24" is something only a master angler can pull off

4 pointsMy Kohler Holder mounts to the two starter mounting holes. That way you can remove and install the crank shaft. I also made up a Hydro Holder for the engine stand that allows an Eaton to be rotated while being worked on.
-
4 pointsBack in January (??) I met @Handy Don and @Bill D for a pile of parts. I got this engine stand and "Bill built" Kohler holder. Also got this engine... It'll be coming apart for an inspection and balance gear removal and eventually be put into my 1974 C160-8 Cinnamon Horse.

3 pointsOf course I didn't get to get a bunch of finished pictures, before stuff started getting put in for the barn sale. But I got some of the larger holes in the walls filled in mainly on the wall to the lean-to. And I got the stair enclosure stained as well as the stairs themselves. This will be the last update for a little while if we can get it cleared out again after the sale I will get some more photos then. Next will probably be the chicken coop and some work in the bottom of the barn. And bonus picture of the chicks getting bigger

3 pointsWrestled a seat down from the overhead storage this evening. I think I'll put lipstick on a pig this weekend

3 pointsYou are correct sir ... I just check a three speed case on the shelf. It could be pushed in. On the other hand Squonkys got a point. A guy could inspect the axle after it's been pushed in BUT with a big but ... read these type of bearings should be pressed in and that would be tough. Have to block it up on the press apron some how. Now I have hammered them in before I knew any better but would probably need a custom hollow driver with the axle in. I think I will just split it just to inspect 3rd gear and clean her up & check the rest of the gizzards. Add a second drain plug over the hump ... Since you guys like pictures ...

3 pointsYeah, we have Pickerel here. Some get as large as small Pike. (24"-28") It's like eating a pin cushion.

3 pointsThat's just a winter wheat cover crop. He'll pasture the horses in it, then plow it under for the nitrogen. As soon as he finishes planting the sweet corn, this field will get planted in cantaloupe. This is the sweet corn field. It was all planted under plastic that he just removed last week. He plants about 10 rows every week so he has corn ready all summer starting from early July. Two rows are planted under each sheet of plastic with a space between each pair of rows wide enough for a horse to pull a produce box down the row for picking. A one day break from the monsoon.
-
3 pointsPretty good sized timber ther too! Brought the 1045 in for planned maintenance. Brake shaft seal leaking so no brakes. As these horses have it the left axle bearing is questionable. Not leaking yet but as long as it's this far apart some new bearings might be in order? Passenger side bearing is good so that reinforces my suspicion that the driver side sees more wear from left turning while mowing. I could be full of horse doo doo on that but this is the umpteenth one I had like this. When I got this one the hub ways were roached so I broached them. Set screws were wicked loose and hubs slid right off so I need to follow my own advice and check tightness more often, Hitch pin will be Richard's rite of passage.

3 pointsI switched to these - they are golf cart tires mounted on 8.5” wide rims. I don’t even need chains when I plow snow. Wanda 23x10.5-12 All Terrain Golf Cart Tires - Golf Cart Tire Supply.pdf

3 pointsVery cool grab! I almost got one of these a few times in high school. I had a fishing tube starting at 14 and was on the lookout for one of those bass raiders but never worked out. Should be a stable fishing platform and the trolling motor will make it easy to get around. Let us know when the first catch in it is in the books!
-
3 pointsI always recommend these when asked. Carlisle All-Trails, although the company name has changed to Carlstar now. When I picked up these they only came in 23x10.5 and 23x8.0, not sure if that’s still the case. The 8.0’s are mounted on standard width wheels and my 10.5’s are on wide wheels like the 520-H’s come with. I can’t explain the height diff.

2 pointsLooks like ground connections on newly painted surfaces. That = a lousy ground (Never mind the battery isn't connected! )
-
2 pointsWalleye is, Pike not so much. Pike is very boney. We at least bring them in the boat before releasing them. Both of those fish give ya a good battle. Fun to catch.

2 pointsTrying to get my adapted Bobcat deck to the Big Show. Is anyone able to haul it there and hand it off to @Horse Newbie. Is anyone coming thru the Poughkeepsie NY area on the way to the Big Show. Thanks. Bill

2 pointsAbsolutely can't thank everyone's help and comments enough - got a new handle grip ordered (thanks 953 nut!!) and am going with one of the steering wheel options suggested - amazing how there are so many possibilities this many years later - terrific. Yeah, I've never had a problem with humility - always told folks 'there are no stupid questions', etc, etc and if you're not doing something stupid you're probably not having enough fun Many many thanks again all!!!!

2 pointsYou shouldn't be disappointed with that Pelican. They are an easy to handle boat and it will be much more stable than a canoe, no worries about tipping it over.
-
2 pointsIf your engine has been operating with gas that has ethanol in it that may be the cause of your problems. Ethanol WILL ruin the fuel system of small engines. This website will show you where real gas without ethanol can be found. https://www.pure-gas.org/ @ineedanother gave you some great information to troubleshoot with, hope you find the problem and it is an easy fix.

2 pointsLove ‘em or hate ‘em, I’m missing some parts in the fuel pump. I didn’t see anything extra come out when I opened it up to repair the broken nipple at the fuel line I got a new carb/fuel pump assembly for $43 shipped. Let’s try it out! The good news, is unlike the common Kohler replacements, these throttle and choke levers are correctly orientated!

2 pointsIn this picture see the clean outer edge of the piston. That typically means there is some blowby. Not terrible, I’ve run one like that from many years. While you have it open it would be a good time to pull and lap the valves, then adjust there clearance.
-
2 pointsI suppose (and would recommend) that you pull the fuel line at the carb and turn the motor over to see if the pump is pumping before going through the steps above to see where the issue is.
-
2 pointsI just picked up a snowblower off CL free. 29" Crapsman with a 9hp Techy. Was on CL for 2 weeks. I was sure, for free, it didn't run. The guy drove it out of the back yard. Runs perfect, new AG tires too. Moving and had to get rid of it. Threw in an extra starter motor to boot! Jack pot.
