My daughter built a friendship with a really nice lady at the Kroger store. One of those people who were always happy to see you and made a smile out of life. She did not have a lot and no car because of high rent costs. K saw her walking to work on Saturday and offered her a ride the rest of the way. . While riding along she told her story about wanting a five dollar bill to give to a boy at church who had little. The store said they only have change with a purchase,so after looking at high priced junk food, the clerk suggested a lottery ticket. Having never played, she was at her sister's house and wondered about the ticket and her sister found the lottery site. Wondering if three matches might be worth something, her sister looked and found FOUR. That's fifty thousand, or thirty five after taxes.

Common problem--- The 'dog point screw' at the base of the shift lever (ball) has either broken off or needs adjusting. Pull the dust cover and have a look-C. As WHX sez---wiggle the shift forks around, then adjust the NIPPLE of the dog point screw, using the jam nut to lock it in place after getting it set right.

Because a hoagie is a hoagie by any other name, especially on National Hoagie Day.

Found this generator at my uncles farm tucked into an old machinery shed. My uncle has dementia and is in a home & has not been home for a long time. It is a Winpower 50/30 PTCD It has a max output of 50,000 watts intermittent and 30,000 watts continuous (with a big enough tractor) There is a standard 110 volt plug on a 15A breaker, a 50A 220V plug on a 50A breaker and the big plug on the back fed by a 125A 220V breaker. This is how the poor thing looked at the farm. Here I am winching it onto my trailer. Generator hauled home and unloaded. Generator hooked up to a Wheel horse. Generator in my shop to begin it's cleanup. I unbolted generator from it's badly bent and broken cart then lifted it off using the front end loader. Cart was straightened and tongue repaired. It then got sanded and repainted. Wheel bearings checked and greased. Generator gearbox oil changed and PTO shaft cleaned and greased. Generator lifted back onto cart and bolted down. Hitched generator to tractor and hooked up PTO shaft. Ran generator up to speed and it came into the green on the volt gauge. Yay, it works. Changed out the 3 conductor 50A plug with a 4 conductor 50A plug because the three conductor plug was corroded and I just feel safer with a double neutral. Hooked generator to the shop and ran it up to speed. I used the 50A plug because my 25HP tractor couldn't do much more anyways It easily ran my 5HP air compressor that my small 6,300 watt generator has trouble with. While the generator was running the air compressor I hooked up my scope to check the waveform. It has some noise on it but for a portable generator it is the cleanest I have witnessed. When the compressor shut off, the waveform looked exactly the same. Here is how it looks on my AC mains from the utilities.

Managed to get a few things done this weekend. Got the fender pan out of the e-tank, primed, wet sanded and coated with two coats of Regal Red. Had to fashion a pair of taller brackets so it clears the hood stand since it's from a 310 going on a c-160. I'll probably weld those once everything is fitted and correct. Got the axle replaced in a spare uni-drive and ordered the bearings and seals so that can be buttoned up.

Yeah, projects have happened right out there in the field quite often!

They still make them new, but the old one will be of better quality and can be rebuilt. What is it doing that makes you think it needs a new one?

After a long winter's rehabilitation.

Went shopping at Lowes for Mothers Day. My wife loves tools and her cordless drill has seen better days. Whilst wandering around I found this cool socket fan light. 3 speeds and 3 light settings with remote. $50 So I unscrewed one of my LED's and tried it out. Pretty neat! I had 2 LED lights on each end of the bench. So I'm going to get 2 more electrical boxes and another fan. Put my LED light back up and add 2 more sockets and have dual fans over the bench.

Planted 3 rhubarb plants 3 years ago. All 3 are really big and full this year. Will definitely have plenty to put in the freezer this year. First rhubarb/strawberry pie of the year.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. I WON!! The rock shaft is out. I sprayed penetrating oil in on around it several times over several days. This evening I was meandering and pondering and decided to smackify the right side inward whilst keeping the inner part against the frame. After about 684 hits it fell out!

As Mike said, let us know what isn't working and we may be able to save you some money and save a good part from being scrapped. One thing to keep in mind if you are looking for a used S/G is that the units turn clockwise and the Cub Cadet turn counterclockwise so that won't work for your application.

Got to feed them critters too. Most modern farms use mechanized feeding machinery that requires electricity. Nice save on that generator and trailer @cleat.

This thread has you covered on the shifter being stuck. Thew clutch going to the floor could be ther clutch return spring (highlighted in drawing) or a linkage that came undone.

It actually did amazing. We backed a truck tailgate up to it, unloaded said tractor, then wheeled it off into the shop

The air cleaner should have nothing to do with it unless it is installed in a way that is jamming the choke. Cranking for 10 minutes is a very good way to destroy a very expensive starter and shorten the life of the battery. Find the problem and quit wasting the parts mentioned. All of my 520's start the same way; 1/4 throttle, full choke then crank a bit till it fires, then push choke off. If it begins to die I will give the choke a quick jab on and off. If you have a weak fuel pump replace it. If the pulse hose to the pump is spent replace that. If you are not getting a good flow to the pump, clean or replace those things. If you have a vacuum leak, repair that. If the carburetor is dirty inside, clean it.

Yes. the 2 bolts in the front need to go back in as they hold the deck carrier.

FYI Isavetractors sells a kit that contains replacement bearings and brushes to overhaul one.

Messed around with the Moto yesterday. Got the blower attached but not completely. Didn't want to crawl around in the wet grass as it was raining all day. Looks pretty menacing. Safty wasn't even an after thought back then. It ran good all day then I couldn't keep it running. Maybe sucked up some crud in the gas. New carb or a cleaning in its future. Also going to need tubes for the front tires. One goes flat overnight.

@1968Commando Unless your trying to stay showroom correct, you might consider one of the small rectangular bar leds that would fit in the hood opening. If you go with the Wheel Horse reflector some of us have lined the inside of it with reflective shiny silver tape.

Nice genny !! Need 45hp to maintain 30kw. Should be able to maintain about 16kw with your 25hp tractor, maybe able to pull a bit more do to the gen capability.

Just an update. James had his first skin graft. They will monitor it for a couple of weeks and if it takes they will remove it and take a graft from his thigh and give him the permanent graft. It has slowed him down some but is far from stopping him. He has to keep his foot propped up most of the time but he manages to get a some work done as well.

The top of the bed sides were bowed, bent, and the angle was not consistent so I spent a few hours getting them straightened out. I bought the metal for the bottom frame and ordered the sheet metal to replace the bad ends I had to cut out. I'm not ready for days of this type of work yet so I just do a little at a time. Hopefully I have some progress pictures in the next week or so.

OK, the wrench is not used to adjust Barney. One machine plants the corn seed, lays an irrigation line, lays a sheet of plastic, and plows dirt over the edges of the plastic to hold it in place making a temporary greenhouse. Several weeks later when the corn has grown 5-6 " and is pushing the plastic, another machine slits the plastic with a rotary knife(coulter wheel) and plows the dirt back off the edges of the plastic. Then another machine pulls the plastic and rolls it on two collapsable reels for recycling. Slit plastic ready to be pulled . The 12" adjustable is used to make machine adjustments. Barney just had a convient hook on the harness.

Timber oil is down. I think I will give it extra time to dry and work on the garden tomorrow. Next week is the stairwell.
