All refurbished, modified and meticulously calibrated! Locktite for sure! Ducar 212 “desired for better internals” over Predator. All Honda clones anyway Engine is “uncorked” so main jet mod will be used for air compensation (Stage -1 kit) should produce 9-11hp at 3600 rpm additional 9hp torque Run about 4400 max! Stage-1 kit racing intake & pulse pump off valve cover , not the breather vent! Straight exhaust opened up, part of the “uncorked”, will add a muffler. Such thing as too much air & noise! Throttle mod with return spring assist Cantilever assist over single speed coaster 1/4” steel laser cut mount to be Tig welded

Today, after getting recognition at work. It was a nice day so, I did Wheel Horse stuff. I stretched the legs on the old 312. I ended up cleaning out a flower garden of the dead parts of hosta and weeds. The 312 was on hauling duty.

Well I got the engine secured onto the frame. Going to take some more adjusting but at least I won't have to worry about it falling off. Here is a picture of the hardware I removed that the PO had holding it down. He also drilled out the holes so that his cheesey hardware would go through the holes at an angle. Not off to a good start but I'm still happy with it. Got the 103-990 ignition switch @953 nut recommend ordered. Should be here next week. That's when the fun starts !

Going to begin a re-power of the OH16 in Sears 70’s frame. The Ignition Module is well known for failure and quite illusive looking strongly at Wisconsin Robin, WI-390 It sits an inch high but it may work, (granted the tank is removed) has the right sump bolt pattern and shaft size. Also on board charging system. I am tearing down the old OH and it will be off soon. Then a slew of measurements ensues! Figure just simply try to set it down in there and cross my fingers! pictures to come soon

I agree with EB. One that sticks out of the ones I have owned would have to be the 1979 C-161 Automatic. My opinion one of the best. Simple, but a real work horse and comfortable.

I know it's not deer or fish but how about duck ? My good friend Ray is an unbelievable artist. He has been on a hot streak lately winning 2 duck stamp contests for this year. One for Ohio and one for Virginia. His paintings look like photo's. Here are his 2 winning paintings that will be the 2025 stamps for each state. Top one is Virgina, bottom is Ohio

My guess is the clamping force of a pair of vice grips used by a previous owner may have made that previously ROUND pipe into an oval shape along with the cap that is now permanently attached. You may need to replace the pipe and cap as a unit.

Barbershop Quartet Day is on April 11, and we have all the information needed to make this day a musical one. Like its name, this type of music was first documented in the late 1800s while men waited to get their hair cut. They passed the time by singing and harmonizing songs with the barbers and fellow customers in the shop. From this introduction in classic barbershops until now, barbershop music has become increasingly popular and portrayed in film and television. Even today, talented men and women quartets compete nationally and around the world.

It just slides on. I used a 1 1/2" ABS pipe cut the angle, wasn't quite right sanded it on the belt sander until it fit the dash angle. Used two 6203 3/4" bearings the sanding bur stopped the bottom bearing. Cut about 1/2" of the pipe and cut 1" piece off the circle forced it inside the pipe and pushed it down to hold the top bearing. Sanded the steering shaft clean coated it with antisease and installed the bearings. The 5 ft. of 1 1/2" ABS was less the 6 bucks at Lowes and the bearing was good used ones I had.

Syphoning is not going to fix your problem...you still have to fix this so you can use the drain. At this point, I would drill a hole in the cap big enough to let the oil run out. Let it drain and then cut the side of the cap with a 2" grinder, hack saw or something to get that cap off. Decide if you can live with the exention pipe, replace it if not. Re-build the drain using Racin'Bob's valve on a new pipe. There comes a time when you just get it done and go on to the next issue. Like...cut off the extention pipe and use an easy-out to turn out the pipe piece that's left. KISS...Keep it simple Stevasaurus !!!

@midpack was nice enough to drop off some wiiiiide wheels for me a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I ordered a new set of 24 x 12 x 12 OTR Lawn Trac. Should make for a great floater on muddy terrain.

The two seals go in back to back. The inner one goes in as normal - seal lip in to keep the oil in. The outer seal goes in backwards - seal lip out to keep dirt out. Good idea to place a wipe of grease between the seals so the outer one has some lubrication. If it is possible to leave a space between the seals for the grease even better. Does that answer your question?

Did the oil pan have the threaded holes in the bottom? 1/4 - 20 bolts (AKA Stove Bolts) are what held all early Chevrolet cars together. A Chevrolet is called a "Stovebolt Chevy" because the first Chevrolet straight-six engines, produced from 1929-1936, used slotted-head bolts, similar to those used on wood-burning stoves, to secure various engine components like the valve cover and timing cover. These bolts resembled the fasteners used on stoves, hence the nickname "Stovebolt".

Lookin' forward to seeing them meeeself. Here's the sales file pics. It was @WVHillbilly520H that originally brought these to my attention many moons ago. Been wanting to try a set since. I really like the large full width squared off deep lugs. Should move some dirt/ sand/ mud/ forest floor. I figured the super wide wheels are the perfect target.
  33. 2 points
Very elegant. I suspect you may want to re-lace the wheel's spokes on the rear from 2-cross to 3-cross to handle the substantially increased engine torque and maybe increase the spoke gauge at the same time. Front might benefit too. Pretzeling a wheel at speed is a real bummer.

I can do most of what you had mentioned with my laptop computer, for me a phone makes and receives phone calls. I do get texts on my dumbphone and can respond if needed. If I am drowning please throw me a flotation device, NOT A PHONE!

There is no doubt that changes are not always progress. Yet IMHO smartphones and a good service plan are now essential to anyone intent on staying engaged with the world at large. Doctors do not call you, they text and email and appointments are via their website or requested/confirmed via text and email. Social Security is eliminating all delivery of paper checks and banks confirm transactions via text and email. Newspapers are dying and new, music, and video streaming are strong. It is becoming ncreasingly difficult to order a grocery or meal delivery or even calling for taxi without an app. Like it or not--swim with the current or drown is my opinion. Also, IMHO, you usually get what you pay for and cheap smartphones are usually less functional and more difficult to operate than the more expensive ones due to their limit (or complete lack) of configuration and customization options. I am most familiar with Apple phones. Their “assistive” technologies to adapt a phone for a user’s particular needs are broad and rich. Yes, someone may need knowledgeable help to get it set up initially but ongoing use can be made quite approachable. (I know that higher-end Android phones have accessibility features; I am just not familiar with them.)

Good progress today. Clutch proof of concept works. I think. Engine fitment appears good. Wrong belt size by about 6" but that's easy... Changed up the pulleys a bit based on comments about grip... 3.5 front 4.5 rear... thoughts? IMG_3312.mov

Nice.....I bought my MacKissic at the big show a few years ago and love having it available. Mine is mounted on the front half of an old plow frame so it attaches to the center and front attachamatic mounts. It was originally on a full plow frame, but it was a PITA to muscle around, so I hacked off the back end and welded in the cross bar for the mid mount. The previous owner also added a set of swing down legs on the front so when its not on the tractor, I can walk it around like a wheel barrow. Then I can flip it up on its end in the corner of the shop when its not needed. It works really well. The only downside being that I have to remove the hood any time I want to use it because the belt comes in contact with the edge of the hood. I could probably fix that by remounting the unit on the plow frame slightly offset, but its not that big of a deal and works great as it is. I've probably run 8-10 tanks of gas through the horse with this thing going full tilt. Mine came with the tiny 1/2" screen installed. It worked ok for VERY dry material, but clogged often. I watched Ebay for a few months and managed to score some NOS screens and a spare chipping blade for a decent price. I typically use the 1.5"x3" oval screen. I chip/shred a lot of stringy wet stuff, plus bamboo, and it seems to handle that the best. EDIT: Oh.....and my flapper door is pinned out at the end of the unit. I pin it at the top and leave the bottom loose to swing out. If it was farther back in the machine, I would be concerned with constant clogging. This thing will chip a LOT of stuff, very quickly once you get a routine down

Looks a bit dangerous. I love it !!!! If you find your self needing more than the coaster / cantilever brake system, they do make some disc brake set ups for bicycles. Some folks have removed the rivets holding the halves of the pulley together, removed the bad bearing, replaced it and bolted the pulley back together. Wheel Horse used standard parts whenever they could. Makes them easier to keep going some 60 years later. Somebody will be along soon with more details.

JB Weld is good for two things, and nothing else. 1) repairing plastic 2) throwing in the trash. It is not good for attaching two pieces of metal together. In fact it is rather bad at that.

If you do not already have a 2 stage pump, you will find that one will increase your speed. A 2 stage pump travels fast with no load but does slow down under a heavy load. Engine size matters, but not as much as you think. A 6.5 Predator on the right combo is very effective and almost unstoppable.
