Today is our 38th wedding anniversary so we went out for a lovely meal. A pub called the Dunkirk about 16 miles away (that's a long way for an English man to travel for dinner). Can't believe it's been that long since two kids not long out of their teens tied the knot and settled down. She looks just as gorgeous now, the dessert is a treat as shes been losing weight really well fir the last ten weeks.

Bring them. Hang a price tag on them. If they aren't sold by the end of the day Thursday, then you know you are asking too much. Lower the price accordingly.

For many of us the Big Show is about the people more than the parts and tractors for sale. Last year my truck was loaded fully and the only thing that wasn't pre purchased was a belt guard that I picked up for another member. If an item is priced too high people are not shy about letting you know. If you don't accept their offer it is unlikely that they will return to make another offer unless it is a hard to come by item. Best bet is to post it in the Big Show pre-sale thread at a fair price, most people will be willing to pay in advance and pick it up at the show.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!! Haven’t posted anything in a long time… Im picking up a collection of 15 wheel horses and lots of parts over the next few weekends. Aaaaaand we’re going back together!!! Special thanks to @ebinmaine for transmission help dealing with the hubs, giving it an initial inspection and supplying me with the necessary parts. I replaced the bearings and seals and it’s ready to bolt back together and get some paint. Then this thing will be looking like some form of tractor again!! still lots of grinding and paint to do, but it feels like I have advanced the ball way down the field here. Very very motivated to keep this thing going!

Didn't get a bunch of photos, but got the head sanded straight. Ran taps through the bolts and block for the head bolts to clean the threads up. New Kohler points, new champion sparkplug, new condenser, put the rebuilt carb on Loaded up for plow day.

Like Bob said. You know your bottom line. Price them marked up with some wiggle room. Go from there. I can't speak for anyone else but if I was interested in a tractor and made an offer that I was comfortable with and it was rejected, I would walk away before getting into a bidding war. Chances are by Saturday the person or persons interested will have already spent their funds

I think that nails my issues with Onan engines. Quite honestly a P216 or P218 does indeed have fewer problems, even without the valve seat concerns. That being said I have a P220 in a Toro Groundsmaster that had well over 3000 hours on it when the deck rotted out. But it also had a remote oil cooler. I'm certain it would crank even now after sitting for a couple years.

Hello friends ! I have just bought a new WH ! A C101 in a very good condition !! For you on US it is commun ,butin France very rare !! It is my second but I could not resist !! See photos ( I will get it in June , because far from my home ,but it is paid !!

Here is the check list I had when I bought my 856. 1. Parked in woods and left for 20 yrs. 2. Tires and wheels buried half way in the ground rotting. 3. Weeds and trees growing through the frame. 4. Plants and moss growing out of the seat. 5. Covered in dirt, rust, and crusty as can be. So after I found one that checked all these boxes I dragged it home, cleaned it, cleaned fuel tank, installed new carb, new battery, put new tires and wheels on it, gave it some fancy pinstripes, changed seat. It is now one of my most reliable Wheel Horses I have ever owned. They are bullet proof. Yes it's an 8 horse power but it is always ready, willing and able to complete the task it is asked to do.

When I lived in Florida I always had to go out of state to find a Wheel Horse, A 300 mile round trip for a nice short frame is well worth it, price is very reasonable.

Once you have run it through a heat/cool down cycle it is a good idea to re-torque the head bolts. Have fun rolling dirt.

That is true but you should become a member just to help them pay the bills for this FREE show they give us every year.

If you wait for the highest offer you will probably return home with 99% of what you brought. If you want to get rid of extra un-needed items put a reasonable price on it and you will return home with 20-50% of what you brought. Many members (me included) even end up with a free pile because they don't want to haul some stuff back home.

I have to admit the same, even though none of mine are this version. I think they are the cleanest, toughest looking of the bunch.

Assuming my tanks are original my 72 raider has no grommet just the nipple. My 73 has a grommet as well as my 74 I think when the tank switched from under the hood to under the seat it still has a grommet correct?

He probably doesn't have many tractors with those grommets.

37 million stuff in yer shop. Them grommmets izz like 45 cents each. Ya waahmee tuh send-uh-few out???

They are carriage bolts so I can't really do that with them as it needs a washer on the weight side and the square of the carriage bolt fits in the wheel. I will probably just cut them a bit shorter.

Here are my 2 Radio Flyers. A friend of mine and I made these a few years ago. I used to push / pull my nieces kids around at car shows. They have long since out grew them. They need to go to new home for more memories.

Bob I will ask when I take my old B-80 starter to him. missing one tooth on Bendix. (Supposed to be 16) and pretty well worn! Thanks Bob for the washer idea placing under the PTO side of the starter to align my new replacement starter. And taking the motor tin off to see how the alignment fits is also a good idea when placing a new starter on a motor!

Getting close to done on the she shed. Got all the furring strips down on the side awning yesterday and hope to have roof metal on today/tomorrow. Then on to concrete. Doing a 14’x36’ slab down the front of both sheds. Then a carport. There is a reason I am not on here much anymore. 😂

I have that same deck 42" RD. Some were recyclers, a block off plate bolts there to help with mulching. I took it off mine.

I've seen a short metal deflector bolted on there. I'm not sure if they are a factory/dealer option.

I have an old Wagner passed down from my late brother. Two (three) things get cooked in it. Bacon, eggs, and steak. Wipe out with a paper towel to clean. It lives on the bottom rack of the oven. Every time I use the oven, the seasoning fortifies.

I haven’t experienced an actual auction, but I have made offers that have been declined and left contact info in case the seller changed their mind. It has worked once or twice. There was one callback late Saturday evening when I was already two hours into my drive home--I politely declined to turn around! I always carry a pencil and notebook for jotting and tearing out pages.

I would just take it to the harware store, they should have one of these by all the bolts & screws....

The Lodge stuff is OK but I wish that they would polish the inside of their stuff to a smooth surface instead of the textured surface that they have, Most of the older pans like Griswold, Erie, & Wagner have a nice smooth surface inside. Surprisingly though the the Lodge is fairly non stick & easy enough to keep clean.
