Damn. I came here 2 years ago with 1 simple wheel horse with a front end loader. A month or so ago I asked about & bought new rear tires. (With beet juice.) 2 weeks ago I asked about a rototiller & plow for my tractor. Now, in the last week, THIS happened! You guys are a BAAAD influence! And THEN, to start working on these, I picked this up for $100. With $100 - $200 worth of modifications, it will be a very capable cabinet blaster. Here it is with the rear fenders for my '73 inside.

Texas Independence Day on March 2 commemorates the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence on the same date in 1836. Inhabitants of Texas proclaimed independence from Mexico and established the Republic of Texas with the signing of this declaration by over 59 delegates A congress of Texians and Tejanos convened at Washington-on-the-Brazos during the Texas Revolution and declared Texas’ independence from Mexico, and they became known as Texans. The delegates elected David Burnet as interim president and confirmed Sam Houston as commander-in-chief of all Texas armies. In addition, the Texans adopted a constitution that guaranteed the unrestricted practice of slavery, which had previously been banned by Mexican law. In the meantime, in San Antonio, the Alamo was still under siege by Mexican General Antonio de Santa Anna, and the fort’s defenders awaited the last Mexican attack. Santa Anna ordered his troops to invade the Alamo on March 6. The first and second Mexican charges were defeated by Travis’ artillery, but the Texans were overpowered in less than an hour, and the Alamo was seized. All of the Texan and American defenders were murdered in fierce hand-to-hand combat when Santa Anna instructed that no prisoners should be taken. The Alamo’s only survivors were a small group of civilians, chiefly women and children. During the siege and storming of the Alamo, hundreds of Santa Anna’s soldiers died. Six weeks later, at San Jacinto, a huge Texan army led by Houston surprised Santa Anna’s forces. The Texans overpowered the Mexicans and took Santa Anna. The dictator was forced to acknowledge Texas’ independence and withdraw his troops south of the Rio Grande. Nine years after the Texas Declaration of Independence was written, the Republic of Texas was annexed to the United States by the collective agreement of the United States Congress. On December 29, 1845, the United States Congress officially recognized Texas as a member of the Union. Sam Houston Day and Texas Flag Day are also celebrated on March 2, albeit they are not legal holidays. “Howdy,” the official Texas greeting, is much more than a witty remark voiced by Woody, the “Toy Story” cowboy. True Texans use the word as a popular greeting.

I noticed you said "motorcycles". This statement tells me that your wife already knows that you like to collect things. I would not recommend that you start to collect wives though. The maintenance on one wife is already time consuming enough.

It has a hole in the side of the block the size of a softball, but for $40 it's worth finding another engine. I belive it's a 74 model and I'm definitely going to save it.

    I don’t understand what you’re trying to say…

It's really not us! We keep warning people about the "horse being heard animals and them being addictive" And to think, you've only just begun!

Here is south Missouri we hit 70's a couple of days this past week. Cooler now and weatherman says that next week we may have first thunder storm this year. Planted peas today and pruned fruit trees. We're seeing sprigs of green grass. Gracelia got seat time today. I think she envisioned herself of driving an old Ford pickup pulling a horse trailer because she had ten or 15 plastic horses in the trailer.

Let us know when you can't remember how many you have, I stopped counting at twelve. Your fun has just begun....

Well the garage floor was devoid of getting any red paint last year so I made up for it with a fresh coat today. All of the small & ruff parts received a coat of self etching primer, 2 coats of enamel primer and 3 coats of IH red. Next weekend I plan to wet sand and paint the sheet metal parts. Speaking of this, @WHX?? are you up for some wet sanding next Saturday??

It's OK Pete. You don't have to play with them all the time. Let's go fishing instead.

Wheel offset for dummies like me. Wheel Horses definitely have a shallow offset. I had a pair of 23-10.50 from a Craftsman that weren't even close to fitting. It awkward to measure but I cut a board to fit inside the rim lips. I would find wheel/tires on Marketplace and ask what they came off of. It was about 50/50 who knew. So I would send them this picture and ask them to measure from the backside. It's blurry but you get the idea. Most were well over 2". I also carried the board with me so it I saw some on the side of the road. I saw some online and contacted the seller. The offset was a bit more but as hard as it is to find them I just resided myself to getting spacers. These tires were just too nice. But they fit! No chains allowed without spacers though.

If you are looking at a wheel, such as from the back of the tractor, right side. If you were to imagine a line around the wheel dead center...if thats where the mounting face is located...equal distance from the tractor side and the outside..it would be Zero offset, if you're wheel is 8" wide; you would thus have 4" of backspace from the wheel lip to the mounting flange. If the mounting hub is nearer the outside of the wheel, like on all wheel steer tractors, you would have positive offset, and if its closer to the tractor side, you have negative offset. The smaller your backspacing is, the wider the wheels will sit.

7.5" and 8.5 " Back set was 1-3/8" most other companies (JD) had 2-3/8 back set.

I fasted just shy of 47 hours. My decision to feed was based on me trying to get things done and having pretty limited energy. Tomorrow being a good sized truck load for me I really need the liveliness back. I'll keep to the 16/8 or so fasting and very limited calories for a few weeks. Quite likely do a few 24 hour ones too. OMAD One. Meal. A. Day.

Today I started working on my 414. Raided the heating oil, then drained, flushed, & filled the transmission. Water & froth in it was responsible for that look, not metal. I replaced the blown headlight & it's working twin with LEDs. They are BRIGHT! (Sorry for the messy shop.) Ordered an NGK plug to replace the Champion. Bought oil to change it. Much more to do, this is just a start. Tomorrow, after picking up a '73 frame, disassemble & clean carb.

He seems to be a Wheel Horse guy. Working on a D-180 in the video I watched tonight. He’s in Indiana I heard him say. Could he be a member here??

Once, in my early 20s I had two girlfriends at the same time. I lived two hours from one, three hours from the other, they both knew about the other, so there was no daily face-to-face time requirement and no effort had to be put into sneaking around, and it was still exhausting. I can't imagine how I'd have done it if I'd hung on to both of them. Although I have also been told that the one I broke it off with literally stressed the next guy to death.

Sorry. I can still tell what color your floor is. You got a ways to go to catch up...

At 13.3 lbs in just over 4 weeks that's a little more than 3 lbs per week. So... double the initial goal.
  32. 2 points
Your goal was 1.5 lbs per week. How you been averaging? Pretty soon the Maine trail cams will capture BBT bench pressing a little bear!

This is a clearcut indicator that a person must immediately possess their own mo-chine. Custom trailer is an obvious requirement. I'm pretty sure it's a law. Mostly.

Oh wow I didnt even see the spring, as it's fully compressed on my carb... wonder if that is normal haha! Looked like a washer until i grabbed a flashlight
  38. 2 points
There should be a spring around the idle screw. Remove the screw, stretch the spring out so that it will keep more tension on the screw. A little blue or purple Loctite on the threads will add some resistance as well.

Sorry for the delay guys. Caught that nasty flu and am still feeling like junk, but finally got out side to do some splitting! I ended up not skidding any logs today and just bucked in place then split, but the Horse was able to easily transport my splits uphill across the property to season! Was a good day, I love this tractor!

I'm now approaching 26 hours fasting. I have absolutely ZERO desire for food. I'll stay in a fast until tomorrow morning and see when/if I get hungry.
  41. 2 points
Today's plan: My last food was 6 PM yesterday. 16 hours was 10 AM. Between 17 and 20 is the part when one feels crappy because of the chemical changeover. 2 to 3 PM I should start feeling better. If I feel OK around 4, I'll continue to fast until I feel crappy again or tomorrow.. or more.

Mom and I made a trip from south Missouri to north Missouri-more than 6 hours of driving for me. We delivered the 500 lbs of fescue grass seed we will be sowing once the water ways are completed. We, along with my brother, burned a brush pile and began tearing out some fencing that is not needed. We talked with an adjoining neighbor about the abandoned rail road right of way that I have written about elsewhere. I think the highlight for mom was to get to see the recently purchased (2014-100 hp) Kubota tractor. Mom even got to drive it. Not too bad when you consider this 89 years old woman was in the hospital and nursing home rehab three months a little over a year ago following a botched biopsy.

I'm on my 3rd (and final) wife. I will NOT be collecting them! I just got her a scooter. Now she has to finish getting her license. Noooooooooooo!! I plan to do several mods. The gun may have to wait right now, as will a foot pedal. I have some upgraded parts on my old HF pressurized blaster I may steal. I have been watching YT vids and joining HF modification groups on Facebook.

Yeah, I'm using the Rustoleum red cans and I'm a bit disappointed in how slow it is to cure, even in the baking Australian summer heat. It's taken a week to get what I consider to be handling cured, but still feels tacky, and if I'm not careful it will stick to whatever it's touching once it's warm. Also the decals will probably take a few weeks to get to me from the US, so no chance of rushing them on! Having said all this, I'm not looking for showroom condition. Just to give is a little birthday to make it look 20yrs old instead of 30.
