Scrolling on fb market place i found a post that says 25.00 for wh attachments so I figured what the heck don't need em but they are cheap. Got a older tiller, a snow blade and frame, a really nice complete d snowblade, and this d snowblower. The body is alot better shape than the one I have but I kinda like how this one mounts! May have to see what I can do with it.

I am not getting on that thing with Skunky , he would throw up half eaten BBQ all over me.

You need to make a PTO driven version so you can just sit and watch them turn green! Maybe an 8-speed so you can keep score.

Picked up a Brinley rear back blade and this afternoon put it to work! I put it on the c-145 with hydraulic lift and did some grading and leveling off in the woods were the water runs and it made a trench when we had heavy rain so I hooked the blade to the c-145 and did some grading around that corner. Look’s definitely a lot better than before! And got seat time! First time the c-145 has been run since I took the tiller off. IMG_9906.mov

Wouldn't smaller tires rotate the axles faster for a given ground speed? You just wanted to see @elcamino/wheelhorse and @squonk launched into orbit faster.

I imagine with a little ingenuity it could have a secondary drive system to invert the rider too. Like a real circus ride!

Nah, go big or go home. Use a 4:10 ratio axle!!

Nearly every town has a lawnmower repair shop that has a bunch of parts tractors around. They can be a source of good used tires at an extremely reasonable price.

You guys need to quit messin around. Dana 60 axles can have a 7(+):1 ratio. Get a splitter. Go 14 to 1. Park an adventurous human or two on there and GET BACK!

My brother-in-law was a big bourbon sipper. When he'd come to visit from West Virginia, I'd always have something here for him to drink. I don't drink alcohol any longer, so not knowing any better, I just decided to get a bottle of Wheel Horse. He poured some into a glass, didn't say anything, but I noticed that bottle was not touched again. After he left, I decided to taste the stuff. I used the rest of the bourbon for paint stripper.

I've never found a place in Indiana that carries it and I've never tasted it but I did want a bottle to display. Somehow this found a way into my truck when I made the Elgin road trip to pick up the Dino C-121.

If you're going gear reduction, you'll need the upper steering shaft ( or at least the bottom of it ) to match up with the gear reduction pieces. Also, as stated above the 300 thru 500 frames all interchange but a 520 frame will have a reinforced plate in front of the transmission. I'm not sure if all of the 300 thru 500 frames have the holes in them for the gear reduction unit, I think only the later ones do....nothing a drill won't fix.

Ginkgos might be my favorite tree. Yours both are beautiful. They’re known as living fossils, virtually unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs. Their leaves are unique in many ways. Distinctive fan shapes. My college has a stand of ginkgos lining the sidewalk that leads to the library. It is spectacular in the fall. The trees are pushing 100 years old now and have an incredible presence. They create an amazing carpet when they dump all their leaves. (Picture is of those trees I nabbed from the web) I never heard of ginkgos changing gender, but they do take a long time to reach maturity before they fruit. A family friend who is a botanist indicated that this delayed maturity frustrates landscapers and homeowners who are treated to a beautiful tree for 20 years that all of a sudden develops acrid smelling fruit. Fortunately, it’s not a long season for that. Pretty lumber too. Fantastic trees! Steve

We've got a pretty fair sized snow storm coming up on Thursday afternoon. We're on this red circle right on the 6" line. The BBT has been in GO MODE at home finalizing for us to move it. She reorganized the equipment storage including getting both plow mo-chines out. Got my 1975 C160 Automatic with the BIG 60 inch plow faced and ready. She changed the drive belt on her own 867 Pigpen. Installed the rear bracket, plow, and tire chains. She even had help from the chickens!! BRING IT ON!!!

I have had good results using the Tractor Supply 5/8 by 82 inch belt, they are generally in stock at the store, no shipping, no delay. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/huskee-v-belt-5-8-in-x-82-in-oc-4461826?store=2326&cid=Google-Shopping-Sustain&utm_medium=Google&utm_source=Shopping&utm_content=Sustain&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA6aW6BhBqEiwA6KzDc_JHPjRIBAd9XOYmblAE7GWJ7aUPM9RxmRDMKdDaRYNoGP7B80JSzxoCm9QQAvD_BwE

The governor rod should be turned all the way counterclockwise then the arm pulled away from the carb and retightened. I did this mod on a K181 to give the throttle lever a longer pull. I'm assuming you have a Kohler.

This pedal is from a 520H which comes with bushing from the factory. The factory bushings are very short but these 0.5" long ones fit without issue. Brake.pdf

For 312 and 518++ we simply replaced the headlights with LEDs and branched the same switched circuit (comes off the A terminal at the ignition switch) to a rear-facing work light. bar that has its own switch (headlights must be on for work light to get juice). @ebinmaine’s direct-to-battery setup lessens the chance that he'd see flicker in the illumination. LEDs react much, much more quickly to power fluctuation than those “heated wire” incandescent lamps. Tractors with without voltage regulators (i.e. plain diodes) are more susceptible to this. It shouldn’t be an issue with the higher AC output and voltage regulators on the 10hp and up recent tractors (C’s and the 00’s). Note that LEDs are polarized, unlike incandescents. The battery source must go to the “+” terminal and the “-“ to ground. Backwards? No light at all!

Well.. that was disappointing. Upon close inspection, I believe that this very well may have been a low hours unit but also that it suffered tragically from very poor long term storage. Tons of corrosion, and as many touch ups as original paint. Lots of small things incorrect and/or missing. The tractor fired up and sounded pretty good and there was plenty to like about it. For the price, there is probably someone who would be happy with it, but just not me. Doing the basic math on what it would cost to get this tractor into the sort of shape I’m looking for, I feel certain I’d be further ahead waiting for the right one. This may not be a popular opinion here, but it seems like buying from the mass of Wheel Horse collectors presents some common downsides. Many of these guys buy up any and all decent tractors they can find for good deals, harvest the bits and pieces they want/need and then flip what’s left for a profit. It seems in many cases, if a collector is selling a tractor, it’s probably because it’s not worth keeping. I’ve historically had much better experiences buying from original owners who have no motivation to squirrel away implements, hubcaps, or pilfer hard to find bits and pieces before unloading a tractor and they generally have a much more thorough historical understanding of the machine and generally care more about it as well. All in all, it was a decent 3 hour round trip with an empty trailer but not a complete loss. I took my 3 year old daughter and we had fun all the same. She’s a great sidekick and always up for an adventure. I ended up buying a set of somewhat patina’d hubcaps from the seller (for probably more than they were worth) but oh well, now I have a set for my current 520H. So the hunt continues. One of these days I hope to find an extremely clean, low hours example of the pre Toro 520H and will be prepared to pay a fair price if one ever turns up.
