10 pointsWe were in NC for a wedding this weekend. We found an awesome show! If you wouldn’t mind, tell me how you like (or don’t like) this style of video. I took “Live Photos” during the show, and blended them to make the video you see.

6 pointsI suppose today was "help my neighbor day". A friend fell 20 feet last February on a construction site and busted up both ankles badly. He is just now walking short distances with the help of a cane. Otherwise he uses a mobility scooter. Today I used the line trimmer for almost two hours cutting the weeds and grass around his place. When I mentioned I was to to model train show Friday, he showed interest. Looks like I'll have a companion at the train show. The sad part is that his wounds are not healing, the bones are not mending correctly, He faces another surgery mid October to rebreak and reset the bones. My next door neighbor is on hospice. He had fought a good fight against cancer but in the end, it catches up with us. I sat with Joe an hour and half while his wife took care of business in town. I don't think he ever knew I was there. Morphine keeps pain at bay. I am blessed that even though I'm almost ten years older than both of these men, I am able to help them in time of need.

5 pointsThe 857 I picked up this summer had 23x10.5 rear rubber that just looked to wide to me. Got these from my neighbors collection (thanks @Docwheelhorse) in a 23x8.5x12 size. Primed and painted . Used Rustoleum “rattle can” Cottage White

4 pointsBelt tension spring installed. Pulleys need more time for paint to dry.

3 pointsI want to thank everyone for their valued opinions. It has been a learning experience. The three most important things I have learned are... 1. If money is no object, iPhone wins. 2. If money is no object, iPhone wins. 3. If money is no object, iPhone wins. So, for that reason, I have decided to stay with Android. There has to be a reason that world-wide Android is a 70% to 30% sales leader over iPhone. I have purchased a Motorola Edge Plus. Price $499.00. Granted, I did get some discount. I defy anyone to show me a current iPhone that has the features of the Edge+ for under $499.00. If Motorola can make this phone and sell it for a reasonable price, there is no reason Apple can't do the same. Thanks guys. It's been fun.

3 pointsI just recently extracted the hubs and axles/diff assembly from a 400 hour 518-H rear end. I suspect these are the same as the 520-H. If you decide to go with a repair vs. full replacement, drop me a PM.

3 pointsDenton has one of the largest tractor and engine shows in the southeast on the fourth of July weekend. Lots of stem power and horse drawn as well as tractors doing work. This is not a park it and polish it show. https://dentonfarmpark.com/southeast-old-threshers-reunion/

3 pointsOoooh Whooow. see it just now. Great nobody is hurt much except few bruises. They be part of the game in this case...😎 Remember me on my third Car, when we start to improving the Engines - but we didn’t improve also the Brakes and the suspensions.. A wonky curve in wet condition an - heeeey the Field was mine.... Was i‘m to fast - probably no - 😂😂😂😂. but the Suspension was much too weak for the Power. What did i learn - check if all condition fits together to the improved Power. i still love my NOS Bottle...😎🤪 Btw: the newer Cars have much moreSafety built in that the Old ones where everything was still Steel and hard Plastics what breaks and scruff you up. fingers crossed for her next Ride. 👍😎🎂 She should celebrate 2 times a year Birthday from now on.

3 pointsWe've got family coming this weekend for a visit - enough that we need the travel trailer as an extra bedroom. Worked this afternoon on dewinterizing the water system after I had puledl it out of its storage place a bit and getting it levelled and stabilized. While I was working on it, I noticed that it was in a good location relative to the fire circle I also noticed that we have a couple of stacks of firewood that need to get used up.. Well, it was a really nice evening tonight, so I built a fire, dug out the weightless chair, and read a book under the awning for a while. Thinking about doing it again tomorrow night.

3 pointsWell I’ve been chipping away when I can. I spend days and days sanding and grinding and finally started getting some parts in primer. I definitely went further with the rust and old paint removal than most people would, I bet. These pics are just some of what I have done about half way through spraying them, but it’s proof I’m doing something!! I need to get the frame and “center console” section cleaned up next and then I can spray some color and maybe start putting things back together. Racing the clock trying to be ready to plow this winter. what would be the correct chemical to use to clean dirty finger prints off of these parts that are now in (rustoleum) primer that won’t remove the primer? Seeing things looking cleaned up and looking new is already getting me all fired up for the end result!!

2 pointsEver run across Nectar Rock band. They played clubs and collages up and down the East coast in the 80s - 90s. They often opened for another York, Pa. band named LIVE . Right to Left My son Mike Kennell, lead guitar; Hardy Hill, drummer; Caroline, vocals; Dave Henry, bass. Dave suffered a fatal heart attack at an early age resulting in the band disbanding. Mike is married to Dave's sister Libby and they operate the family HVAC business started by libby and Daves Grandfather Wilber Henry. Hardy Hill went on to star in some early episodes of the Big Brother TV series. I lost track of Caroli The volume was a bit high for my ears but we had some good times following these kids back in the day.

2 pointsNice job Kevin. Since you asked here is my $.02 worth. Love the music...being a southern boy it strikes a chord with me . Only suggestion would be to add a short cross fade between clips (only a second or 2) if your editing software does that and make sure each clip is a couple seconds longer. Will keep the video more laid back and smooth....course that's the way we like it here in the south...

2 pointsSnow blowers and plows spend their working time resting on the ground unsupported by the front end. A loader or unsupported engine powered device will introduce a whole different range of static and/or dynamic stress.
-
2 pointsRichard, you know we don't get snow but once in a blue moon, and when we do, by the third cup of coffee in the morning it's gone.
-
2 pointsHope you don't need a tall chute two stage snow blower in the panhandle of Florida, a side discharge mower deck should handle all the snow you are likely to see.
-
2 pointsStarted deck assembly. Spindles have already been rebuilt with new bearings as required then greased, and threads cleaned up on both ends. Sharpened and balanced blades installed with never seize on the threads. Spindles bolted into deck housing with never seize on the bolts. Front bracket, shaft, and leveler installed. Rear brackets, wheel support, rear rollers, and quadrant installed. Rear brackets are not tight to allow for alignment when the rest of the deck hardware is installed. I made up a little reinforcement plate for the quadrant to help prevent it from cracking again. Belt tension assembly installed minus spring as I just painted it. Front rollers installed. Wheels installed. I am at a standstill right now as I just painted the pulleys and tension spring so they will require a day or two to dry.

1 pointThat hub and axle are toast. Weld the hub on to the axle and run it like it's stolen, ( they already need to be changed anyway plus you can't kill anything more if it's already dead.) And in the meantime, find a replacement used trans so it can be swapped out once you find one and then done at your leisure.

1 pointBTW, I’ve been to very few live music events. I’ve seen: - Ronnie Earl - Barenaked Ladies (free tickets) - Delbert McClinton (I went to shake his hand and he jumped. I think I startled him, funny) - Tom Jones (took my mother as a gift. In his book he commented that he went from playing Vegas to a little sh*thole in MA - that’s the one we were at 😂) - James Taylor
-
1 pointI saw Ronnie Earl live YEARS ago at a Chinese Restaurant in RI. Was awesome!

1 pointI think it matters more how much the front tires can hold and if you can turn it. I've picked up hundreds of pounds with the bucket on my C81 it was hard going anywhere but straight and it's a beater but it's amazing what it will move, as long as the weight box is heavy enough. Wouldn't want to do it a lot but in a pinch gets it done.

1 pointLots of grease and wax removers out there to choose from. https://www.google.com/search?q=automotive+paint+prep+wax+and+grease+remover&rlz=1C1JZAP_enUS981US981&oq=automotive+paint+prep&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgDEAAYgAQyDggAEEUYFBg5GIcCGIAEMgwIARAAGBQYhwIYgAQyBwgCEAAYgAQyBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyBwgFEAAYgAQyBwgGEAAYgAQyBwgHEAAYgAQyBwgIEAAYgAQyBwgJEAAYgATSAQkxNTc0NmowajeoAgewAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

1 pointI think the problem lies, not in the spindle shaft or the bearings, but in the MACHINING of the housing itself. If I recall correctly, the older housing is machined DEEPER for the top-end bearing by 1/4" or so to accommodate the top seal. That is to say, the more recent housing which uses a 5/8" dia shaft is not milled as deep for the top bearing as a top seal is not used on this style. I'm suggesting that the NEW housing shown is for a shaft of 5/8" dia on top---not the 3/4 shaft. Here are two schematics... 05-42MS01 and 05-42MS05.. They ARE different. Note the difference in part numbers too... especially ITEM #24--

1 pointI think you have an excellent chance using the A-Z collet hubs. You may need to move the hub inboard more than normal to make use of the better axle surface. Spacers could be used to move the wheel back out. The hub should span and strengthen the damager area of the hub. You could also weld up and hand grind file the damaged area. I have had success in rebuilding bad keyway

1 pointToday, I was working. I shopped Hannaford to Go orders for a solid four hour shift. Basically I look at a list of items picked by a customer. These lists range between 1-120 items at roughly 30 seconds an item on a handheld the size of a phone, scanned each in with a scanner on my finger, and pushed an aluminum cart that logically gets heavier as i go. Sometimes to the point its like I'm pushing my tractor. However, I work at a store with great co workers so it went by quick. Once I stopped I felt like I aged another 40+ years so I took 5 for a bit so I can do it again tomorrow.

1 pointCAD = Computer Aided Drafting This was more like BWRDS = Bear With Ruler Does Scribbles.
-
1 pointI use BBs on all my boat trailers that I constantly dunk in salt water. The pressurized hub does keep the water out. I never felt a need on a tractor though. Sealed bearings work fine on all my tractors. I do store them inside.

1 pointThat kind of wear or fit you could simply feel by jacking it up and trying to wiggle the wheel. Maybe a bent rim. While it's jacked up give it a good hard spin and watch it

1 pointI got myself an odd ball. The tag comes up as a 1975 C-161. It looks just like a C160 but with the “wrong” decals and a different dash. What do yall think?

1 pointThe BBT and her Momma spent several hours working on firewood. This is her 867 Pigpen and the 1977 Ohio Steel trailer. My crane...
-
1 pointWent and killed myself today. A family we know lost their 21 y/o son recently and needed help clearing yard at their cabin of the firewood pile so family coming had parking. We spent about 2.5 hours working on that today, along with some other families from the group we know them through. I feel good about it now, I'll regret it tomorrow.

1 point@OutdoorEnvy and the rest o' youzz folks. I have an UPDATE!! We have an 18 cu yd load of 1 1/2" crushed stone being delivered soon. I figure the Wally Digger Backhoe is a great tool for LOADING yard trailers. We need a way to UNLOAD them. So..... Back to this crane project!! I started out with chopping almost 16" off the end of the crane. Didn't need it. It also added a LOT to the leverage of the whole hitch in a serious downward twist. I'll compensate more for that with a vehicle scissor jack. I'd added a long tube frame to the trailer years ago. Forget now why. May have been because I was thinking about putting the crane on the trailer back then. May have been because I didn't want to chop the tube until I knew what I was doing with this build. Anyway, I shortened that up by over two feet. Before: After: This got the crane and trailer nose about 28" closer together. Next thing was to finish adding the lift mechanism to the crane. Here's the winch: And the lift belt holder: The whole setup: Last for today I found a piece of scrap/leftover 1/2" square edge Advantech. That's going to be bolted to the floor of the trailer. Partially for a great reduction in noise level when filling with stone. Partially for a huge difference in added strength. Next on the list is to add a piece of 3" angle iron to the front as my lifting point. That'll be bolted through the Advantech, the metal floor, the front cargo box support, and the lifting chain(s)..

1 pointso ive never been into Massey's or I have now yet. I know of a few models, so this is a Kohler that was converted to diesel, that looks like a spark plug or is it. and how did Kohler get so high compression in one of those or am I miss understanding something. I probably sound like a idiot but just sounds neat.

1 pointThe fuel pump pulse is generated by the movement of the piston. in the crankcase. I can't imagine how the pressure of the air on the outside of the engine could affect the crankcase pressure.
-
1 pointThe motor on the blower was an eighteen hundred RPM unit with about a five or six inch pulley so the fan speed is close to the same now. I understand that if you run these squirrel cage fans at too many RPMs you generate turbulence and reduce the air flow. Mine does a great job as it is set up.

1 pointWe used to use talcum powder in a hand pump duster intended for garden use. Worked quite well.

1 pointMy 702 has probably had better attention on maintenance, repair etc than any of my other Wheel Horse tractors. It is not my favorite but I do still enjoy riding and working with this tractor. The speed with which Wheel Horse innovated with new devices, attachments and features on their tractors made a quick end to the round hoods but boy they got a lot right early on!

1 pointMy new gas tank bushing and shut off valve come in, so I was able to run it a little longer than the jar of gas allowed the past few nights 😂. I think I’ve got the points set right and the carb dialed in, and was able to test the hydro - so far so good!

1 pointI always save the old gaskets and measure them then engrave the measurement on the bearing plat so I know what to put back in upon reassembly.
