4 pointsFrozen slot hitch ...now after weeks of being shot with WD 40, Liquid wrench, and PB blaster( all now empty) I drilled two holes into the slot hitch and sprayed with more PB blaster it broke free!.. I have taped the holes and added grease zerks and a new lift cable and I can use the hitch! The pin doesn't move sideways...but doesn't matter size the slot hitch moves and will not be using a tiller anytime soon.

4 pointsI've always gone with the oldest wireless communication company in the US - Motorola. Low price, great camera, same as you described does every thing I need, & I tend to beat the crap out of them with little to no damage. My current phone is a Moto 1 - 5G, it's getting old but still working well. Think I paid under $200 for it. Android & Apple both do the same things, just have slightly different ways of getting it there. Apple is a bit superior with photos & graphics. My thoughts are - If you are used to Android and don't want to hassle with learning a different operating system, then stick with Android. One other note - It will be a long-long time before I get any where's close to paying $1000+ for a phone.

3 pointsI'm phone illiterate. My preference is a flip phone with call and text. When my flip phone became obsolete, My family decided that a smart phone was the way to go. For the most part, text and talk are 90% of my phone usage. Reasons I prefer simple phone is: I see my family can't go more than a few minutes before checking their smart phone phones seem to be addictive. Flip phone are small and fit in pocket versus a holster on my side. (Thusly taking place of my Sneaky Pete holster.) I'd rather do my playing on computer of evening and that is not every evening. I think my current phone is Samsung. I'm probably in the minority, in that, I don't have back up camera in my daily driver or use google directions when driving. (No need because my wife does.) Last summer on vacation, our kids depended entirely upon electronic driving directions. They were the lead car and we followed, meanwhile I had paper road atlas. At one point, they had us on gravel roads looking for "Field of Dreams" baseball diamond in Iowa. We made it to all destinations, but I was scratching my head sometimes. I admit, technology has great benefits and I'll just look over the shoulders of those who embrace it meanwhile I'll head out to the shop and let sawdust fly and get grease under my fingernails.

3 pointsExcellent! I’ve been considering doing the same thing so I don’t have to deal with backing up a trailer. Well done!

3 pointsToday was the day for the maiden voyage of my reborn B-80. I had swapped out the carb for a freshly rebuilt Carter Type N, pilfered the coil off the sick K-34. There was actually two issues why I wasn't getting spark. The coil was bad and the new points I installed had been sitting so long the contacts had a film insulating them. Cleaned them up and the spark returns. After sitting for who knows how long (likely years) this thing fired up immediately and ran like a sewing machine. A little carb tweaking and I'm good for a long ride out back. I did a video but I just can't get it to load on You Tube. I get back to the garage and drained the oil. This tractor is going to be dedicated to the front blade year around. I put one of the axle brackets on it as well as one of my receiver hitches from Lowell. Next the blade, wheel weights and chains. I'm a happy camper. Next project..........the Dino C-121. Stay tuned.

3 pointsIt is best to fully charge a new battery before putting it in service. Your previous readings were with an old and spent battery and your present readings are with an unknown.
-
3 pointsAlso check the voltage with a hand held meter to confirm the tractor gauge is accurate.

2 pointsHi, I was searching my area for a replacement 16 hp motor for my C161, eight speed manual transmission. I should say I was looking for a low $$ parts tractor with a moving 16 hp motor. I found this C - 161 on a classified ad. The seller called it a C 16. He said it was automatic and came with a snow plow. It looked a little rough, and he apologized. Said he’d always stored it outside. I have no familiarity with the non manual machines., It started and I was able to drive it onto my trailer. When I got it home and unloaded and ran it a little… dang! That’s a sweet driver! So, I decided to try out a 36” side dish charge deck. It didn’t have a mule drive or a way to engage PTO. I exchanged the mule drive from my 161 manual with no problem. I encountered a problem with the PTO. The arced rod from the C 161 manual appears shorter and will not function. I am uncertain about the installation but I’m wondering if that part is not interchangeable. I notice that the 16 HP motors are not exactly the same dimension, with different mounting styles. The name of the part would be helpful and any skinny about this automatic and how I can use the mower deck would be appreciated. thanks

2 pointsI have an Apple iPhone SE second generation. Unlike the other iPhones it’s $400 brand new. I have had a few Android phones before, and they worked fine but it was so open files wise I could see someone screwing up the phone pretty easily. Especially if you didn’t know what you were getting into. I do like my iPhone. An added bonus being the newer operating systems are integrated together more smoothly every new version. I physically don’t need the phone on me to answer phone calls, as long as my iPad, or MacBook Pro, or Apple Watch is on. The rest of the family all have iPhones so that is an added plus as FaceTime, Messages, and more are pretty seamless. I’m pretty gentle with my phones so no issues there. It’s all about preference. Kind of like OSX vs. Windows.

2 pointsFunny thing is that I too am left handed and right eyed. I was always laughed at at the Navy rifle range when I sighted with my right eye and pulled the trigger with my left hand.

2 pointsAs you are aware Richard, I am a strange duck. Being left handed and right eyed, I had to special order my Tracfone so it would be used friendly for Edog

2 pointsI'm an android user and the mentioned reason above is one of the reason I won't go apple. I REFUSE to sell my soul to apple for no other reason than I'm stubborn and don't want to. I have never had any issues with my android phones and I think the cameras on them are excellent. They sure beat civil war era photographs!

2 pointsWe were at the beach last week. The rental house had all Roku tv's. I tried to cast pictures from my Android to the Roku. Would not let me. So my daughter got her Apple and connected AirPlay and instantaneously she was casting pictures. We were there for 8 days and I never got my Motorola to work. That is one of the things I hate about Apple. They buy their way into all platforms to become the exclusive way to connect.

2 pointsAndroid user here, I did have an apple way back but once I switched to Samsung I stayed with it. My wife was encouraged to try the Google pixel last time we swapped, she HATES it. Cannot wait to swap back to a system she I'd happy with. So on balance I'd say stay with Android unless there's a clear benefit to changing to an I phone and all the faff that could entail.

2 pointsSorry but I am an Android user and get mine from Consumer Cellular. I have a Samsung Galaxy 14 now and am happy with it. My family has I phones and we communicate with them just fine. Apps should take care of most sharing issues. Most cameras are very good now so for me thats not an issue. My droid has the face or fingerprint verification. Can you go to a local Verizon or T mobile Store and check the different phones out? The sales people "should be" knowledgeable about each phone and help with your questions.

2 pointsI just tell my wife I only have one Wheel Horse.................... It's the one I'm sitting on. Yesterday my wife told me she just bought a new heavy duty sewing machine (her 7th) and I need to help he go pick it up. She said they were becoming like my tractors, so I said must be time for another tractor. (she doesn't know how many "parts" tractors I have in the barn at the farm.
-
2 pointsI went from a flip phone all these years, to an iPhone 14 Pro back in November. I chose it for the apple connections to the rest of the family as well, and for the excellent camera. Other than it consuming a lot of my time, I don’t have regerts on the phone choice.

2 pointsI’ve been working pretty steady lately. BUT, I did though get some parts l ordered a throttle lever knob, steering wheel insert clutch spring and shifter boot in the Mail after I got home from the meet and greet. That did tie up a few more loose ends nicely.
-
2 pointsNow you need to look around for another parts tractor for the engine, fall in love with it, go find another, then another, and another.

2 pointsI have an old 200 series that had lots of play as you described . Without to much trouble my cousin was able to pull the steering shaft up without having to remove it . He cut off the lower section of the worn gear off with a death wheel. When it went back together the shaft had enough room to slide further down enough so the newer unworn part of the gear took up most of the slack in the worn fan gear . This was on an older 212 model but seems it was a common issue with the 200 series .

2 pointsCheck the condition of the voltage regulator ground - the housing must be properly grounded . Oxidation at the mounting bolts is a common problem.......

2 pointsNice Mike! I’m getting ready to start on shed #2. Will be a mirror image of mine on the slab to the right of it. Will have an awning also.

2 pointsMy 702 has probably had better attention on maintenance, repair etc than any of my other Wheel Horse tractors. It is not my favorite but I do still enjoy riding and working with this tractor. The speed with which Wheel Horse innovated with new devices, attachments and features on their tractors made a quick end to the round hoods but boy they got a lot right early on!

2 pointsI find adding two 1/8" NPT street ells to my grease gun gives me a lot of options on hard to reach zerk fittings. They are just snug so I can rotate the coupler in both axis.

2 pointsDay 13 (I think I lost count lol) Today got a couple things done. Rebuild the Carb at work with a OEM NOS Briggs carb kit one of our local power equipment shops had left. But the carb back on with everything fully rebuilt inside including the fuel pump, Replaced the vacuum line. Changed the spark plugs and bolted the engine fully down. Also attached the throttle cable IMG_9164.mov

1 pointAll, I’ve had a 1962 Wheels Horse 702 that has been sitting for about 5 years now after a tree fell on it (hood is slightly dented). I’ve decided to do a complete restoration and I’m having trouble finding a parts list for this exact model. As of now, the engine is going to be rebuilt, and the transmission will be touched up. I know finding tires will not be a problem at all, but I’m having some trouble locating some parts I know I’ll need. What is the best course of action of locating a gearshift for this model (snapped after tree fell, stuck in gear) and a steering wheel (also broke)? Also, are there any good diagrams that show transmission and engine rebuild? To summarize, just looking for the best way to access parts I’ll need, an overall parts list, and any diagrams to help with the rebuild/restoration project. I greatly appreciate all help with this matter!

1 pointAny Wheel Horse with it's gas tank under the seat will eventually encounter hard starting problems. Even a new fuel pump is not too good at pulling fuel uphill. As the pumps age and the fuel system is exposed to contaminants the problems crop up. It is time for some deferred maintenance to be done. As @Skwerl58 said you should start at the fuel tank outlet and be sure fuel is able to flow. Replace the fuel hose and ad a filter to the system. You should now be able to have fuel flow to the inlet of the fuel pump. Remove the hose from the fuel pump to carb and crank the engine over to see if fuel is being pumped. If you have been using gas with ethanol your fuel system probably is contaminated and the pump and carb need to be cleaned up. You can find stations selling non-ethanol gas on this site. https://www.pure-gas.org/

1 pointSelect a valve and then turn the engine by hand till that valve opens all the way, then turn the engine one full turn and adjust that valve. Repeat for the other valve.

1 pointI bought a new iphone 7 last year just after the 14 came out. I paid about $350. It does everything listed above and has a very good camera. Even my grown kids stay several generations behind the latest and greatest. We buy them online for a lot less than the phone stores charge for them. It does everything you list above. I see the younger crowd using the features of the 14 with all their gaming and constant chat etc. We usually buy used phones off Ebay or Amazon, but my old phones battery died so I didn't have time to shop around. All my family uses iphones.......just because that where we ended up. Years ago one of my sons switched to an Amdroid , then switched back. I seem to recall he had problem getting his phone data to transfer automatically one way or the other, don't remember which way. So that a question to ask.

1 pointThank you, kindly. I will try to post photos. The automatic tractor that I acquired recently is model # 16KS01. The tag is mounted on the frame. I think it is considered a C 160. The motor is K341S. I have looked at a manual for a C-160 on this site and determined that the part name is the housing rod, or yolk, or clutch rod housing 102938. I was not able to find a manual for a C 161 to compare the housing rod part #s. I'm assuming that the PTO clutch for the C 160 automatic works similarly to the C 161 manual transmission. I am able to discern that the motor of the C 160 automatic is mounted directly to the frame, compared to the cradle style of the C -161. I see that the motor is meant to move slightly via the rubber cradle when the PTO is engaged on the C 161. It wont move on the C 160 and I'm wondering if the clutch housing rods may be different between the two models. I attempted to install the clutch housing assembly from the C- 161 onto the C-160 (it looks like it should work) but it will not reach the bottom mount. On line I see many others that appear longer. They say the are for later and larger models and many are black in color. It appears there must be a difference. Another peculiarity is that the model number of the manual C 161, mounted on the dash plate, is 91-16K801-14531. As near as I can tell, that number references a C-165. The decals on the hood indicate C-161. The model # of the motor is K341AS. I imagine either the hood or the dashboard could have been swapped out, or the motor tin, but all seem like they have weathered similarly and it would seem odd to change out the dash plate, but it coulda happened. The C 161 has a shiny looking carb, leading me to wonder that it is a replacement. Perhaps the housing rod is different between a C-161 and a C-165? Perhaps a housing rod from a C-161 would interchange with a C-160, but I actually have a C-165, which may use a different size? Oh man, I'm getting dizzy! I installed a 36" deck on the C-160 automatic and drove it around a little. I'd really gotten it just for the motor. That hydro deck height control is sweet! It came with rear wheel weights and chains and a snow plow. Seeing the real beauty of maneuvering the snow plow with the hydro has prompted me to consider working it. And adjusting the deck. And just not shifting. I'd like to make the blades go and mow with it. Any suggestion about a housing rod 102938? I see a clutch housing shaft of ebay that looks like it might extend the housing rod enough to function. But there is much uncertainty about that. Getting the correct size rod seems ideal. Thanks again for your attention my Wheelhorse matters. Brian

1 pointRichard, Lincoln located a used coil that he tested for spark before selling it to me. I installed it the other day and my engine fired right up and appears to run fine. This coil variation did not include the pass through charging circuit wire include in the kill wire sheath and just pulled the wire out of the sheath from my old coil and inserted it. Thanks so much for the referral. Without a working coil, I was stuck with a 400 pound yard anchor! Jan
