4 pointsSo I picked this up Tuesday. My plan was to use it at my mother's house this fall as she has a real problem with leaves. Craftsman tow behind lawn and leaf vacuum. PO said it was his father's, who passed away. Sat in shed unused for a few years. One tire flat, wont start. He has had it for sale for some time at 600. I noticed he had changed the ad to read make him an offer. I texted him and was made an offer I couldn't refuse. 125.00 Picked it up. Clean as can be. No rust, not even a scratch on it. Got it to my mother's and within 15 mins it was purring like a kitten. Problem was that the chute would not mesh with the deck on that FREE craftsman rider I had got for her few months back. My nieces and her husband showed up to my mom's and her husband had interest in the vac. Told me he give me 4 tires for my truck for it. Sooooo, next week I will be getting a set of tires for my truck ! I'm happy, he is happy, my mom not so happy . Can't please everyone!

4 pointsNot really a coaster, though it could be used for that purpose. This item is going to be used to cover a hole at the center of the flywheel screen. It is a work in progress and this is the first iteration so please ignore the hole on the edge of the hub. This was made using Libracad, a 2D CAD program which allowed me to load it into Estlcam, a simplie CAM program. Estlcam created the G-code file that the CNC router used to create the part.

3 pointsIn between rain drops and doing 748 other things Trina got a coat of Rust-Oleum 2X Nutmeg color on a lawn ornament deer she's fixing up for my momma. She also started the destruction process on the old forest access bridge this morning. After a break I went out with her and we got it all shredded. Next June or July there'll be NO indication of any human activity here.

2 pointsSo, with the new electric pump making life easy on the 516H, I installed the new mag on the '99 Intek on my Snapper RER which had just died softly while cutting last week. My 62 year old brain told me it had to be the mag as the spark appeared weak. Made sense. Got the OEM part and . . . nothing. It couldn't have been under the valve cover because I just adjusted the valves. Finally moved it into the garage now that I have a week off and, yup, there was the intake rocker hanging on with adjuster on the cover. The adjuster lost its tiny little adjustment screw. Nothing - not by magnet, not in drained oil. Pulled the cover off and, nothing. The cam is worn to the point where ACR is a now and then thing. I'll buy new OEM because the Chinesium is a guaranteed fail. Even the B&S part is not of the quality of the solid piece I'll be tossing. Maybe swap the ACR pieces? And so, I wonder if they'll take back the mag . . . she'll run later next week. Sigh.

2 pointsI broke the throttle cable the other day and had to shorten it a couple inches to repair. Since then, the low end idle has been lower/slower. So far, it has not back fired! Seems the idle was too high at shut down?
-
2 pointsWell bud sounds like you have it all covered. Enjoy the your weekend and holiday.

2 pointsThis is not how I was taught to calculate torque values Don. I was always taught, at least for SAE bolts, that the fraction was the drive size of the impact, and then you take the smallest common fraction (1/4 1/3, 1/2 etc) that produces a whole number on the integer, and that's you ugga-dugga factor. So your 3/8-16 bolt takes a 3/8 drive impact at 4 ugga duggas.

2 pointsThank you! No real need for that. We only use it occasionally, getting down cristmas decorations and stuff like that, and only with socks or bare feet. On top of that the walls are "Agnes" panels which have a plastic (?) coating on them. Plus anything I put on the wall would not look very tasty.. Handholds are for the weak! Which I am not (yet) In all seriousness, I used to go up there without a ladder and just doing a kind of back summersault while holding onto the beam. I think this will be fine for now

2 pointsThis one is special to me. Back in the day I had many of these Start/Gen tractors. I just wanted to have one that is show worthy. Garage queen only.

2 pointsMowed the front and side yard tonight with the 414-8… so of course a front end shot was in order

1 pointThe formula for deriving the metric ugga dugga is different. You multiply the pitch by the diameter and round the product to the integer.

1 pointOk, I definitely need a new set of reference documents! And by the way, are Ugga Duggas only imperial or do they work in metric as well or do I need to also practice my “ga-zintas”?

1 pointEric a very nice line up of wheel Horse tractors and attachments. I think you have it covered for what ever comes you way. Plus you have that like I do that big a>> Ariens blower Rated@ 50 feet throw.
-
1 pointTry running some Seafoam thru it to clean some of the carbon from the cylinders. Then adjust the main jet to make it run a little richer. My dad's 312-8 did this until I set the carb a bit richer.

1 pointHi Kevin, I believe you have to at least lift the motor a bit to get the lower shaft out. I’d replace the steering block while you’re at it. Brian from K+B Wheel Horse Parts should have it. The hardest part may be removing the steering wheel from the shaft. Recently I had to use two Port a Powers and a two foot long piece of 3/4” round stock that I hit with a sledgehammer.

1 pointI thought about painting it all up… but just decided to let it look used and rustic

1 point$34 for a replacement wheel at the U-pick today, and I got the weather checked tire free. Better than paying their $10 dismount fee, because it’s not road worthy. I swapped my tire back on and my buddy at the tire shop had it balanced for me in about 6 minutes. I’m glad to know all my wheels are GM brand now, (honestly no matter where they are from) and not a cheap repop.

1 pointi have stubbornly adjusted to being much more careful and cautious in my senior years of how i move and lift items -- when we all grow up in active or athletic early years its hard to accept father time -- but i have had to realize they are just so many cortisone shots i can reasonably get - - haha --------- in the case of that mower on the wall i smartly asked my wife for help as was the case the other day with another lifted item -- so just having to learn to be humble - - of course she like may partners are usually very supportive but that doesn't mean we all don't get occasional frowns

1 pointReplaced the rear lights on the 418-8. Ordered a new seat and a set of used Simplicity slides based on a recommendation from @wallfish in an older post.

1 pointWorked on making some personalized Key Chains for a friend. I think they turned out well! 3D printed in 3 colors. The one I made for mine is not personalized. Always fun to be making something unique and useful. It is a small thing to do on a WH, but an easy way to finding the key on the key rack! Steve

1 pointAfter the change to Eaton transmissions around 1980 this might be. In the 70s when the older square hoods were using a Sundstrand there were many manual lift hydros but the transmissions were the same other than valves.

1 pointI bought this 1257 earlier this year. It has three different shades of red so taking my time fixing some minor oil leaks and blending in the red paint. Hope to have done by the spring, if not worries. Will post when done.
