I went and got this tractor today, it runs and drives good, I got the cab put back together, and put it in the shead for now, the battery was not fasened down so it fell down twards the lift arm and ruined the ground cable, bit I fixed that with vice grips and clamping it to a ground, I got it washed and put away for now, look at my gallery for pictures of it I just put a bunch in

Well finally finished the most expensive $20 garden tractor I've bought lol. Not perfect but not trying cause I use it. I took a picture of the stoppers on the deck. They are the rubber stoppers on hoods of Jeeps just in case someone else needs some on their Wheel horse

These two are in the Sandwich Range NH just north of Lake Winnepesauke. The water views below are Squam Lake. Total was almost 6 miles. Near 1600 feet elevation gain. The woods are just as fascinating as the tops. Old colonial area filled with stone walls and at least one long forgotten cellar hole. Big attraction for these two is that the tops have steep boulders to climb and Percival has a cave to go through.

My wife worked for a Community Collage and was tasked with compiling a large mailing to former students from a few decades ago that were not in the data-base files. There was no desire to add these names and addresses to the data-base as it was anticipated the many of these letters would be returned as undeliverable. My wife brought both of out typewriters to the office (this was in 2005) and asked her student assistants to type the addresses from a roster that had been pulled out of mothballs for this project. She turned to leave the room and both of the students called her back. How do these things work? You mean to tell me I need to put each envelope in by hand? This will take forevvvvver!

Hey all, new to the forum as I just bought my 312-8, my very first tractor. It will be here Mon morning. It won't get any use until we move to VA in a couple of weeks but I just couldn't pass it up. I hope I did good, paid 900$ for her. Did I do alright? I will probably have a ton of questions for you guys, I hope you all are patient. Thanks, Jim

Grabbed a 522 couple years ago with a bad rear end, 60in deck, and a front end loader. got it rebuilt, but not back in the tractor, couldnt get the help needed to finish it alone. Hence it sat. till my regular mower died a couple months ago .Back to looking for parts again and hit Craigslist an FB market place awash in wheel horse stuff, YES!! 314-A, 520H and a 522Xi. 314 didnt run wouldnt roll, got it, 2 decks and a grader Blade for $450, now it needs a seat all is well. The 520H came with a single stage snow blower, it was steep at $1500, but it is an absolute cherry, New tires, forward swept front axle and runs like New Lastly, 522Xi with rear discharge Mower on market place, $800. Owned by a really nice kid, He dropped his praice during the convo when he saw the Disabled Vet Tags on the truck. After we loaded, he says I got a an old snow blower that dont work but your welcome to it. He comes back dragging this 2 stage blower and the mule hookup as well, I only had another $80 on me but he didnt want it, I made em take it an told him, the blower was worth more than I was paying for the tractor. Odd Thing , he didnt care but I wasnt having it an made em take it I met his dad, another Vet, really great Folks. Met some really nice folks out here searching wheel horse world. This young man Named Brad was a true Gem as was his Dad. Hoorah!!.

I was gonna bring it too. And sell it back to ya! LOL A wheel bearing hub let the wheel bearing(s) go. Had to grind and limp my way back home today. Normal hour drive took almost 2 hours. No fun doing this procedure on the fly in the driveway. Plus it was hot with the sun beating down. Some of those bolts were tough to get loose and mother nature welded. So the 4 ft bar had to come out. ( Orange EMT bender pipe, lower right ) Impact broke the universal too. But I'd do anything to hang out with @Sparky at an engine show! LOL

Watch those fuel filters. That style has a tendency to air lock and some of the cheap versions the filter element disintegrates clogging up the carb.

So I’m able to move the tow valve now, however when I turn it to where it is in the operating position it still is easy to push. Keeping in mind that this machine has sat around for well over a decade and the fluid in the transmission is still fairly clean.. what’s left of it, most of it has leaked out. I’m guessing the only way I’m going to really know the condition of the transmission is to get the engine running and simply try it

Flew my Beechcraft to Osh Kosh for the annual EAA AirVenture show. Meeting some friends & family who also flew their planes there. It was a fabulous day for flying this morning. Pic was taken as I was awaiting landing/runway clearance. I typically don't take pics, text, etc when I'm flying. Phones, social media, (I don't do it anyway except this forum) etc don't belong in cockpit.

I used to program our CNC lathe to re-cut the rim roll tooling. One of the lathe operators would come to me saying that the program would not load from the 3 1/2 floppy. Said that he was getting a corrupted file message. I would reload the program back onto the floppy, and all would be good - until the next time it happened. This lathe operator was the only one having the problem. He finally realized what the problem was. He had a pocket screwdriver that he carried sometimes that had a pretty good magnet on it. Seems that he corrupted the disc when he put it in his shirt pocket along with the screwdriver. Now we are way off topic. Somebody needs to point us back onto the proper subject.

Many years ago I had a mk1 Ford Fiesta Supersport, (don’t laugh). It was broken into quite a few times, and left with a flat battery each time. One morning it was left at the end of the road, as whoever tried steal it, tried to push start it. I had fitted a small resettable fuse on the underside of the steering column. I used to reach under and press the button to manually trigger the fuse. Looking underneath, you couldn’t really see anything remotely resembling a switch, It only cut power to the ignition coil, not the starter, so all the dash lights, etc came on, and they would run the battery flat trying to start it. With all the dash lights, starter, etc working it obviously fooled them into thinking, it was just another Ford with poor starting😂

Cloudstrike?! IMHO most drivers have little to no idea how their car works, expecting them to manage the more sophisticated capabilities is ...??? I once heard that it isn’t a good idea to try to teach a pig to sing. Why? It’s unlikely to work and it annoys the pig.

The B&S 130000 series are a 5hp engine. Your engine was made on July 21 of 1972, according to this year date it may be a replacement engine.

The other thing to consider is that blower is on a hydraulic lift tractor. (520-H) Manual lift on a 312-8, so keep that in mind if youn plan to use it. The Ber-vac blower isn't quite as heavy as the Toro 44" 2 stage, but it's still heavy lifting.

I have been working with my dad and bother the last two days on some of Wheel Horse tractors. My dad Clifton Ralph , who is a long time blacksmith, and my brother worked on two Wheel Horse parts yesterday that we needed for tractors. The first is a bar 1 inch wide, 1/4 inch thick our of 4140 steel (a better qualitiy than most of the attachment steel used in Wheel Horses) for my LMR 307 Front Reel Mower. This bar will have a bend on the end and two holes for 1/4 inch bolts that is used to lift the reel mower by the lift handle of the tractor. The other end is attached to the reel mower lift. We have not finshed the part yet but we will today. The other project was to extend the fan gear rod for a Lawn Ranger that David is placing an 8 HP Kohler motor on. He needed antoehr half inch for the battery box to fit in that space between to motor and the steering fan gear brace that attaches to the frame. Dad figured the steering fan gear rod could be extended 1/2 inch by heating and tappering the rod. So that is what we did and the steering road fits perfectly and meshes with the steering wheel gears fine. We also placed two new Carlisle trailer tires on our Wheel Horse hauling Ravens trailer. And finally, a little more work completed on David's 633 Wheel Horse project. We got the recoil installed and working fine. Adjusted the carb and placed a fuel pump on the 8 HP Kohler we have on this tractor.

This works great on the 953/1054 tractors. Your slot hitch can stay on and be used in conjunction with the drawbar. Dad made three of these years ago! 1054 drawbar hitch Homemade (made by Clifton Ralph blacksmith Gary, Indiana) rear drawbar hitch for a 1964 Wheel Horse 1054 tractor. Hitch attaches to the rear snowplow piece located on the rear axles. This hitch allows you to have a ball, a clevis and a pin for slot hitch attachments.

thank you for your service! Those Xi machines are monsters, you don’t need me telling you that. Make sure to jack up the front end BY THE FRAME and inspect that front axle pivot when it’s suspended. It was the only weak like I’ve found on my Xi thus far. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/92609-xi-series-front-axle-pivot-repair/
