9 pointsThe Amigo mentioned above @Rp.wh "re-orphaned" it... but now it has a home as the red headed step child. The oddball in the herd!

8 pointsGot to do some more playing around today. This time with some of my competition. Was happy to be in line with the rest as far as distance. A big thank you to my film crew, Cindaaay !!

8 pointsOrphan tractors adopted by Red Square members An orphan is a tractor whose parent company no longer exists. They are obscure and little reliable information about their origin and history exists. While surfing the internet seeking information on some lesser known brands, I found several cases where the most dependable source took me to Red Square posts. The following posts are a credit to our members’ willingness to share what they have learned. If you have adopted an Orphan Tractor and I missed it please add it to the list. @oldiron613 Jaques Frazer & Ottawa @Achto McLean restoration @Rp.wh Demco Amigo @oliver2-44 Mayrath @D_Mac Lambert

7 pointsGood day to day moved 16 yards of wet heavy crusher base for a driveway with the old 520H and after a few tanks of gas the motor stop hunting a few pictures and a video. Thanks to this amazing site and people for all the help in fixing the old girl up. IMG_5128.mov

6 pointsIt’s official in my book, Don is a genius. I feel really stupid. Have had many carbs apart and never seen that. I should have asked here about 2 days ago with what it was doing I was soooooo agitated, would not have said as many bad words. I was about to push it in the woods. It started right up and ran pretty good, good enough that I rode it around the yard for about 10 minutes to slosh the diesel around in transmission. Shifted and moved in all gears hi and lo Thanks again guys. Not done yet but a lot closer. IT RUNS and MOVES.

6 pointsYou’re going to love it, it’s one of my favorite attachments. I’d recommend you start looking for a cab! Mine is mounted on a 417-A, I love the sound of that twin cylinder Kohler under a load!

5 pointsMy . If I was going to go hog wild and redo a tractor with Regal Red, First buy an extra HVLP Gun. Spray the red without hardener and immediately after the last color coat when it's still wet with the other gun spray on a coat of Rustoleum Chrystal Clear. Then a 2nd coat of clear in like 15 minutes. I bet it will dry faster than the red with hardener and you'll like the results better. That's how I paint everything now only with spray cans.

5 pointsWe are way behind but thanks to @WheelHorse_Kid and his 7 dollar Rototiller we have the garden ready to go. Next year we will be on it earlier in the year. our first time using the tiller and it has worked great so far.

4 pointsme being 14, and my dad owning a auto repair shop, sometimes but very rarely we get lucky like this, there was a customer that had a 1982 Chevy c20, he repainted part of the engine and could not get it to run and did not want to put any money into it so he gives it to us, the title in our name we brought it home, at first I thought some awfull looking mirrors, today I think I figured out it is a camper edition, anyone know why they are rare or people want them, this was free, has a differint engine, small block Chevy still with a turbo 400 tranny, not Shure on the dif gears yet, I don't have pictures on here yet but it is red I believe , or rust, there is just sun wear and some surface rust but really clean underneeth. I will get pictures tommrow afternoon, thanks and I will post more in the morning it is almost midnight now. -Keaton

-
4 pointsSounds like Kevin has you covered. Sorry my pieces aren’t up to the task as his are. My steering wheel is a smaller three spoke, hood has rust bubbles and my side cover is for a 417-A. I tried Either way sounds like it will work out. That’s what this is all about. 👍

3 pointsHere are pictures of the hitch adapter, if it will work for you it is yours for free. Made from 2" channel iron cut down to 5/8" and bent.
-
3 pointsI'm strongly leaning in that direction. Besides, I like to try using a hvlp spray gun with some Rusty Regal and hardener. I've had the gun for years and have never tried it.

3 pointsIt doesn't surprise me that a plan is coming together real quick after starting this thread. I'll head up to see Kevin Tuesday to get the engine. Mike is relaying a couple parts back to Indiana via Lane This is gonna be fun. But now I have a decision to make. As you can see from the picture the tractor looks good. But sometime during the 17 year hiatus it was repainted. The decals were left on but they did a nice job masking them off. But it looks like it was sanded with 100 grit before the final coat. You can see two 1/4" holes in the top of the hood (don't ask ) that could stand to be properly repaired. Since this tractor won't be critical to get back in service there will be no rush. In one ear something is screaming to tear it down and repaint. Not a full blown resto but a nice refurbish. In the other ear something else (wife) would be screaming that I don't have the time right now. Hmmmmm..........

3 pointsI'm still running our 30 YO 44" two stage. Runs Great on our 520H. We bought an X730 JD tractor for lawn and yard work and considered a cab and blower for it, but the JD snow blowers have been troublesome and not well made for JD product. Keeping the 520H and blower for snow removal.
-
3 pointsThey never made one with a grease fitting, that was added by the previous owner. It is to have a pipe plug and you remove it to add 90 weight gear oil.
-
3 pointsI'm sure I can fit it in. I'll ask @Pullstart for help loading. I know Kevin can make it fit
-
3 pointsAfter several applications of PB Blaster I used a puller and once a bit of pressure was applied I tapped on the pulley next to the shaft, gave it a little more pressure and tapped again and it popped right off.
-
3 pointsI did move the hydro lever to down position and the clicking quickly dissipated, I quess that is the cause/answer. Thanks to all comments.

3 pointsHope you got your tin drawers. Everyone is saying the show is going to be hot enough as is, your crotch is gonna need a heat shield riding that thing.

3 pointsWhile watching the barley harvest yesterday, I noticed the black raspberries were ripe. So, today was a picker day. Then I found this new member of the pasture herd.
-
3 pointsHe is really into history and the Civil War . He religiously spends countless hours in the battlefield with kids. It’s just that it is the first time he gets there on Wednesday rather than Thursday. He spoke to Randy Culley and it’s ok for him to drop trailer on Wednesday. Many thanks for number and suggestion @Ed Kennell.

2 pointsI got a. 2 stage snowblower…in June!! For cheap money!! Im in search of a user guide / manual for it. It’s in good shape for a. 2 stage, in ME!! It’s got a little wear in the shute, but that can be painted. Im excited to use it on the C175 or the well used 520! The gear box is newer, with a grease fitting! Ok, i have surmised, that they use 5/16” x 3” long grade 2 or 5 for shear pins? It’s came with a 520 extension bar. Do I have all the parts? I believe so! They are a lot different to hook up than one with a single stage!

2 pointsDid the exact same thing with a large uni-bit at work yesterday! Drilling out centers to run the Milwaukee circle punch cutter....went to unchuck and YOWZA quick sear on my palm where it lapped over the chuck end and touched the bit. Musta been really hot!

2 pointsName in Red means supporter member. This is not really a useful test. The carb is not in its running position. There is no fuel in the bowl. Carbs must work with fuel, not air. There is one final possibility that I didn’t mention but is an extremely rare occurrence--if the vent from the bowl to the exterior of the carb is clogged, it is possible that if could flood the engine.

2 pointsB-80 tractor. $250.00 Starts right up, runs nice and drives. Blows a little smoke on start up and acceleration but clears up. The engine runs pretty nice otherwise. All tires hold air. It can use some clean up, front wheel bearings and a tie rod. All stuff we can do at the show. Drive it and test it out at the show. Add the snow blower posted above for $50 IMG_0694.MOV

2 points@AHS I'm gonna have a cab for sale here shortly.
-
2 pointsThanks for the offer! @Pullstart maybe this hood is a better option for me? Mine is a worker so no need to repaint this one.
-
2 pointsNice!! Do a bit of research to see if the auger pins are supposed to be bolts, Ariens shear bolts have 2 undercuts on them to define the shear points - regular bolts do not.
-
2 pointsWhen you get right down to it, ALL Pond & Wheel Horse tractors made prior to the sale to AMF ARE orphans, Go to a Toro dealer and try to order parts for a 702 or an 854.....
-
2 pointsAlternative meeting places could have been Cornelia or Tullulah Falls, Got any tunes for them?

2 pointsI just did did conversion to solids on a C81 took about a day but it was worth it.
-
2 pointsWell, if you are not lucky then at least with the tire and fan out of the way (might as well pull the foot rest too for more room) you will see where you can spray in some penetrating oil. You can put a puller on it but don't crank too hard as the pulley is some kind of cast material and will likely break. Don't just pry on it because you might damage the hydro pump.

2 pointsBob, I have an OEM M8 that has never run or had oil in it, it has the right size shaft and the 15amp regulator. I plan on listing it for sale here in the next few days, the price may be more than you want to spend plus shipping but it won't be much more than the guy here from Virginia who sell a rebuilt one for. PM me if interested. Chris.
