6 pointsHey folks. Just received my 3rd message about a RS member going by Fordeen that is using the wanted section to scam us. Here’s what was happening: I post in the wanted section that I need a mcgluger pin…Fordeen messages me that he knows someone with a mcluger pin for sale and provides an email address. I email the address given, strike up a deal and make some sort of electronic payment. After payment all communication stops, and the scam is complete. Karl has banned Fordeen BUT…if you are currently in negotiations/communications with Fordeen or with the email address he provided STOP IMMEDIATELY!

6 pointsToday the fellas finished up the framing on the back wall then moved to working on the metal roofing. All the panels are on. The ridge cap and trim needs to be installed. These pics weren't taken til after dark so excuse the odd lighting.

5 pointsWe're getting the pine siding put on the back of the barn today. Already been painted green so the real scheme of color is there. Looks absolutely fantastic!!
-
5 points@ebinmaine @OldWorkHorse. I used a piece of thin aluminum to draw a straight line. A couple Jack stands laid down make a decent turn drum for cutting!
-
5 pointsI didn’t do anything but have lots to do.And I still have room for another

4 pointsJust had to stop in and say hi and post a pic of my 'daily driver' horse putting in some work on my latest acquisition, Sure Trac 18ft 10k car hauler. The 525exi (522xi) moved it up my driveway hill without too much issue to park it along side the house. It may get to haul a horse from time to time, but i am pretty happy with my 3 horses. The XI needs some bushings and a light overhaul this fall along with some serious snow plow reinforcement. The trailer was actually bought to haul the fixer upper econo daily driver (2011 Subaru outback) to the various repair shops so i can stop driving my fun vehicle.

4 pointsNo, you must remove the hub and then you can pull the old seal out with a seal removal pick or a small screwdriver. But first you should check the bearing for wear by pushing on the axle. There should be no up/down or front/back movement. In/out is OK If the bearing is bad, you must split the case and replace the bearing or the new seal will also leak.

3 points1054-A was sold in 1965 and 1966. It might have had some white knobs on throttle and choke cables but I know 953 had them and 1054 were black. As someone I knew said , “ who knew what Doris did on Friday when she was wanting to get out early”! Wheel Horse did not waste parts. John Deere by the way still sells the black ones as they were used on some of their tractors too! Our 1966. 1054-A also has white knobs as seen in this photo!

3 pointsI'm not gonna ask what I look like. I can't see myself and what others think is THEIR concern, not mine!
-
3 pointsI sat on a roundhood and I felt like I was on a tricycle as a kid. They are neat machines but I need leg room 😁. I like the big wheel bunch.
-
3 pointsI’m hiding these out of sight until I can get them painted. These are yellow obviously someone had issues
-
3 pointsGeez they call themselves carpenters... look at that roof gap....

3 pointsA little $ can get you any rating that you want at a store. This is my thought's. The only urethane's that I believe in are the ones that are manually mixed together (usually at a rate of 4 to 1 and they only have a pot life of 4hrs) and then sprayed through a gun. Don't clean the gun & you will have a solid mass/mess by the next morning. Before clearing over a cured paint you should first wet sand the cured paint with 1000 to 1500 grit sand paper. This gives a good mechanical scratch for the clear to stick to.
-
3 pointsNo you do not. This is assuming you don’t need bearings too. Generally when they wear excessive, they take out the seals.
-
3 pointsWell the rain never did completely cease so the fellas spent today finishing up the siding on the right side. They also got a great amount done towards the framework of the back wall. There will be 3 windows here going pretty much from one side to the other.
-
3 pointsYesterday we came home to find that the left side shed roof and left side vertical roof were both completely covered with sheet metal roofing. The right side vertical roof is around half done. It's raining this morning so I imagine they will be working undercover finishing up the back sliding door by adding the pine boards to the frame that they built last week. Maybe if the rain lets off they'll finish the roof up.

2 pointsSometimes things just fall into place.. I've joked around with the fella we all know as @wallfish a few times over the last 5 years that if he ever needed a new home and steward for this incredible piece of machinery... Well... We'd be happy to take it in. This is a screenshot of the P F Engineering website pic John submitted years ago. Back in late July, John and I along with Trina of course, started blabbing back n forth about the possibility of she n I becoming the VERY appreciative new owners of a 1986 ish 416-8 with a FEL and Backhoe. Mr Wallfish wanted the machine to go to a new home that would both USE it and be able to repair and maintain it. Well I think we all know the BBT Trina person would absolutely love to put this beast to great use. Here it is being delivered to our house. Covered up and peaking out. I changed the hydraulic filter and bled the system. I've ordered a new tank cap/fuel gauge. We'll remove the tank and clean it out. Today we changed the temporary fuel line and added a primer bulb. Also changed the spark plug. We moved it to the place it'll stay for a few weeks while the new pole barn is built. Can anyone identify the loader? John, we REALLY appreciate the opportunity to own this magnificent tractor. Thank you.

2 pointsHi all. This topic will be dedicated to the upgrades and modifications I'm going to do to my 512-D with sweeper attachment. The plan was to complete my mini IH 1468 before starting to work on the Wheel Horse but since the leaves are coming down quick I developed an 'itch' to get working on the Wheel Horse. First things first, I had to get it running again. New ignition switch and new inline fuse, aswell as cutting out all unnecessary (for now) stuff solved the non-running issue. Dashboard wiring seems to be OK This is a mess. Two unnecessary relais, one unnecessary switch and a bunch of unnecessary wires everywhere. Next up will be a new battery and probably some modifications to the pto-clutch and new oil all around. Also I'm on the lookout for new filter elements for the oilbath filter for the Robin DY41D engine. Done for now. Major upgrades and or restoration will have to wait until after I finish the Murray to IH 1468 project. Running again. Listen to that THUMP! Almost forgot to mention.. probably needs some new rubber mounts Greetings from the Netherlands, Mark

2 pointsGlen Pettit told me that 953 was the only model that had white choke/throttle knobs but I know I've seen them on 1054s too. Like you said, "Wheel Horse did not waste parts."
-
2 pointsWe have gone round and round on what colors were the perfect colors. At the end of the day, whatever makes you satisfied
-
2 pointsI have a 953. seat is modified and all the way back and it still feels like there's more legroom on the Roundhoods.
-
2 pointsIt was a pretty fair ride for sure. Certainly possible it would happen again too because @Herder has more treasures...

2 pointsHere is an illustrated parts list. Then go to the top of the transmission forum and some charts are posted to lists of today's seal and bearing numbers available locally. We also have a vendor that can supply.

2 pointsMan I keep telling her that but she just don't bite. I was after her for a year or two to get an 854 or similar. Nothing. I showed her @Rob J.'s 1045 and that clicked I guess.... Now we need to work on getting her a 953 because of @Sparky convincing her to take his own for a ride.
-
2 pointsDid that already No battery on a 7HP Horse. It's the old pull rope. Mine has .03Ω. Does not apply to my model. No battery. Tomorrow I will install the new Magneto. We will see...
-
2 pointsJeff, unless it has an activator bulb inside the can that is pierced and mixed with the product, it's not a true 2K. I don't know how they can call it 2K.

2 pointsAre you looking or selling? I myself wouldn’t pay close to that. I’m not saying it’s overpriced, but it’s hard to say what is rebuilt. Taken apart and painted? Not rebuilt. Rebushed, refurbished, all clean and tight? Rebuilt.

2 points@ebinmaine truth! It definately needs some wheel weights or rear weight with that heavy sweeper on the nose. Fat chance that I'm going to find some (original) Wheel Horse weights to mount to the rears so that's going to be a diy project at some point.
