12 pointsLazy Sunday afternoon just listening to some of my prized Direct to Disc recordings.

8 pointsThe Paint Department and I did more cleaning and she sent some paint onto the big twin K582 Kohler engine block. Masked off ready for paint. And one coat on.

8 pointsAll ready for snowstorm Landon headed our way next week! First time using a 314 hydro with hydro like and snowblower. I have used a 314 hydro with snowplow before but looking forward to seeing what this will do with a good snowfall!

7 points'Noreaster. MIL has someone to plow the drive but got the 520H out to clear the walk and some places to walk the dog in the yard. New to me tractor (bought two winters ago but never had enough snow to use it). Worked well until the PTO clutch gave up. Enough snow on the ground today for a little seat time.

7 pointsWell living in western NY you better have something to move a lot of snow around. I normally use my snowblower, but so far this year I have only used this 875 to plow my driveway. I have high curbing on both sides of my driveway, making plowing it a little difficult. Way more fun sitting on the tractor plowing then walking behind a snowblower. Might have to just sell that blower!!

6 pointsNo snow from this storm but I was out clearing up some drifting from the last few light storms. (Wind blows across several hundred feet of pasture drops it in the road down the barn.. drifted snow is hard and heavy. Plow was having a hard time so I brought out the blower. (Electro with K341) Did her job parked her to go back an cleanup with a plow. Went to start her up and big bang and she stopped cranking and locked up. This was down at the barn several hundred feet from the shop. (and an up hill drag). Took some tools down pulled the grass screen and tried to turn her with a wrench..nada. Figured engine did something really bad. Facing the wrong way to be dragged up the hill. Had to get the other half to steer her. Being a hydro couldn't raise the blower. Tractor has 150lbs on the rear hitch 50 lb weights on each rear wheel and front wheel weights. Took the main plow 12 hp charger and dragged it backwards up the hill. Charger 12 never spun out (she has lots of weight) but the engine was dragged down to the point I wasn't sure we would make it... but we did. Got her in the shop pulled the blower and pushed her into the heated part. Turn out the stare motor failed. Nuts, washers and spring in the blower housing pinon gear wedged in fly wheel. I have a spare starter an later his week it will go on...

6 pointsAnother job well done with the C-145 made a couple of passes for the puppy to walk around and to get to the shed. Here’s a warm up vid and a couple of pics! IMG_0265.MOV

6 pointsThis machine was given too me pretty much as you see it minus new tires, tie-rods, battery and air filter. Currently going through it getting it mechanically sound and enjoy for a bit before I jump down the rabbit hole and do a complete restore as a tractor with no mower deck. I’m so thankful for this forum. I’m feeling more confident as I read along these threads.

5 pointsCommon problem on most hydros... The easy fix is this: Drill a 1/8" (or less) hole in the BRAKE return ROD. Insert a little cotter pin in that hole, bend it over, and hook a small SPRING to that cotter pin. Other end of spring hooks conveniently to a NOTCH in the hoodstand... This is my C-160 Auto. ( Bronco 14 is same) with FIX APPLIED...took about 15 minutes.

5 pointsThe electrical box is because of the pump being where it is. I love how the vultures in here try to scarf it before the OP even picks it up!

5 pointsthe single stage cut through this light fluffy 4-6in of snow like it was butter. That was the kind of snow I wanted to see all season. Did most of the driveway with my snowplow, but had to make a nice bathroom area for the dog with the blower.😅

4 pointsSo next Saturday I'm going to be picking up a 753. Here's what I know: The current owner had intended to restore it but wasn't able to get the project underway. Some-time back a previous owner had side-mounted a different gas tank (maybe the tank is gummed up?). It's non-running and likely will need some work just to get us to the start line. I'm hoping to eventually get it into good enough shape to do some mowing. Any thoughts on the weird hydro setup or the box with the electrical?

4 pointsI’ve finally found a replacement for my tired old truck. It’s a 08 Toyota Tundra with 160k on the clock. Little high but these foreign trucks seem to want to go forever. It has a absolutely massive storage area for work stuff and groceries. For being a New York truck the rust is minimal. It needs a new rear bumper but that’s it. It also has the big 5.7 I-Force as well. Close to 400 horsepower, while my 98 ram was lucky to get 200. I have a few plans for it, I want to get a TSC black diamond plate toolbox for the bed, and maybe a rear window guard. Either that or a bed cap.

4 pointsIs there different wheel options for this model? Just started the hobby and haven’t found a lot of info on this particular model. Currently in the process of rescuing this one. Going through it and getting it mechanically sound again was my original goal but I might be heading down the rabbit hole here. Any info or help is much appreciated, thanks.

4 pointsI serviced the 867, gave her a bath, and tucked her back in. I wet sanded and compounded the hood on the 310-8, but it still needs more polishing. Maybe when it warms up more...

4 points@Pullstart. @Achto @Snoopy11. @pfrederi @Maxwell-8 and my apologies if I missed anyone involved in this thread. Related to a little rant of mine in a previous post, here is the total opposite and what this site is all about. Taking substantial time out of one’s life to IMMEDIATELY help a fellow member in another continent in need of help and answers. On top of that translating into another language. This my friends says a lot about the involved individuals’ s characters, and exemplifies the true spirit of this site. My absolute respect to you all.

4 pointsGiving the 314-8 a Work out! We have about 8" of not fluffy or slushy snow. Kind of "in between snow". The wind was horrendous and COLD!!!!!! I wish I had a cab for the girl, but insulated coveralls did the trick except I couldn't find my dirt bike goggles so my eyes were kind of cold at times when I ate a face full of snow when the wind decided to change direction without telling me beforehand. video-1643500184.mp4

4 pointsThe rear axles on that model are unusually long due to the wheel size and type that came on it. Regular wheels will be set out by about 2 inches either side with standard 12 inch rear wheels. Only know because I picked one up just for the longer axles...
-
4 pointsI'm back and forth between Michigan and Missouri often enough that I'd be glad to pick it up for @Pullstart. Probably forget to drop it off at his place on my way by, though.

3 pointsInteresting, --- I just got an '11 Tundra bout 5-6 weeks ago, moving up from a '06 F150. Had been looking for some 10-12 months, was determined to find a truck under 100k...... Hah!! Was absolutely blown away at the high mileage 8 to 12 yr old trucks had/have - 200k seemed to be the norm, and the prices did NOT reflect that. Saw an '18 Ford King ranch with 440k and asking 43k! Didnt really need a truck, my F150 had only 126k and was clean, but I was coming up on my 82nd b'day and had a bit of $ stashed back so I decided I needed ONE last nice truck while I still had my health. Was about to give up when I luckily saw a CL listing for the Tundra just posted with 76k and pics showed CLEAN! so I went that day and within 10-15 mins I knew it had to be mine - was/is really clean. Taking some getting used to, totally diff from the Ford and was actually a bit concerned that I made a mistake, but I have come to .... well, really like it!!

3 pointsGreat video! I always thought they were hilarious, but never knew they could plow snow! Jusk kidding! I'm jealous of the C160, so I just had to!

3 pointsIt's a lot easier to lift the snowblower that's made for a wheel horse than it is lifting it by your arm. I know you use a walk behind but it's a lot easier to be able to drive that snowblower around.

3 points@Brockport Bill That is an excellent question. It's been asked here before, but I don't believe anybody has ever come up with a definitive answer. Here's one short thread for example: Production Numbers - Wheel Horse Tractors - RedSquare Wheel Horse Forum I'll toss this to Garry, he may know more at this point... @gwest_ca

3 pointsThe 1972 version of that model was a Commando 800. Here's one I restored for my grandson a few tears ago. I swapped the 10" rear wheels for a set of 22.750-12's from a 76 B-80. I left the 6" fronts as is. The height difference was insignificant and had no effect running a 36" RD deck.

3 pointsThe grays don't exactly match between the side decals and the hood, but it was a pain to get it on straight, so it's staying this time...

3 pointsRear ice chains are on along with the wheel weights and another 50lbs of weight. I think Hiram is as ready as he is going to be for this storm. If he does well maybe a cab will be something to think about. Time for a hot beverage and watch this white stuff pile up.
