Created a trash hauler for the Horse the other week along with my neighbors WarEagle version using the main water shutoff. No lifting needed for pickup or drop off either. Making trash day a little more fun. Simple to install with a pin. Maybe a bit over engineered but it’s solid like my Wheel Horse!

While doing a little surfing on the net I ran across this little gem that was made by Simplicity in 1957. Can you imagine if this thing would have actually been a popular hit on the market??? Well with any kind of luck I should have a gasket set in the mail today for the big twin engine for my big wheel tractor project. I told my female BBT other half that I'd like to try to get some paint plopped on that thing maybe Sunday. The nice part about being home everyday is that my wife doesn’t see the horse parts arriving daily.

Pretty common for us late 80s to have rifles and shotguns in the truck window. Never had a single instance of them being used at school. I'm guessing someone raised us to respect firearms and what they were for.

Originally it was a 1077 , now it’s has a 12hp K301 in it. Mason and I brought it back to life and now we are taking it apart to clean it up . We took the battery tray and the dashboard out to sandblast them. It’s giving us something to do during the day since we both tested positive for Covid and are quarantining together.

They have found the suspect, not even a student of the school system. Our students are “safe” once again and are back in class this morning.

Number of poles only determines the frequency of the AC output, that and the speed of rotation. Output voltage is a function of the number of turns, and strength of the magnets. Don beat me to it!

I got an ignition switch from @76c12091520h Brian Badman. Because it's a change from OE and my custom wiring harness I modified the schematic diagram BBT had printed out for us the other day. Finished up the wire installation using a 5 prong replacement holder @953 nut had mentioned awhile back. One of the ingenious PO modifications was to drill the original switch hole way too big instead of finding the correct switch. I found a couple thin washers and drilled them out a bit so they would hold the new switch snugly. New switch is set right in nice and happy with a keychain from @wheelhorseman Lowell at Wheelhorse Parts and More. Last known thing to do is make up a wiring harness for some nice LED lights and mount those in pre-existing holes.

Me: Going down the road sweetie to make sure the neibors got cleared out. Her: Don't they have a plow? Me: Yes they do but it's an old 8N and breaks down alot. They might need help. Make sure your crankcase breather is not blocked and is on correctly. There is no seal on that gov shaft. There isn't usually a lot of oil there. Could be excess crankcase pressure forcing the oil out.

Organized chaos is what I got. I've heard that it is a trait of creative people. Not that I'm creative, so not sure what my excuse is. When ever you throw something out, you find that you need it a day or two later.

The number of magnets in combination with the stator coils determines the number of current reversals per rotation of the flywheel. I'm guessing 18 coils on the stator so 9 "plus" and 9 "minus" pulses per rotation. In tech-speak, that's 9 hertz at 60 RPM (vs. 60 hertz for your household AC current). The size of the magnets and number of windings in the coils determines the voltage/amperage of the output.

Thank you. We have to go out in the garage in short spurts because we don’t have the energy. But we are improving and spend more time out there than the previous day. I’m kind of glad we are going through this together. I don’t know what he’d be doing if I was at work all day. He is really enjoying tinkering with the 1077 . I’m enjoying being able to have the time we have together tinkering with it. He might be missing a lot of school right now but he is learning a lot of mechanical and life lessons right now.

They don't "have" to be pretty, they have to "function" correctly. Some people like them looking shiny and new, while others like them rusty and sweaty. And still others like them somewhere in between. Some even like horses a different color altogether. Then even some chop them and make other things out of them. There's no right or wrong, it's yours do as you please. The only thing most of want is to Honor the tradition that is WHEEL HORSE.

I'm with Squonk. Typically it's going to be crank case pressure pushing oil out. There's no "bushing" or seal there but oil needs to be pushed out through that hole for leaking. Otherwise it just drips back down to the pan. Clogged breather or not installed properly. Or excessive blow by on the rings. Also looks to be overfilled if that much oil is pushing out. Check the level without screwing the dipstick plug into the case.

I ordered a complete engine gasket set. First time I've ordered from isavetractors. His kit has head gaskets with a fire ring and his price given that info was good. I'll absolutely keep you posted. I was in fact thinking of doing an unboxing review when I get the package.

WH felt that the limited slip 5060 tranny needed more oil to adequately keep the differential lubricated. Your tranny should have an extension on the level plug (#71/72). Fill it til it runs out. I think you will use at least 2 qts. The over flow others talk about is from other trannies with out the extension.

Thanks Kevin. We are through the worst of it now. He brought Covid home from school last Thursday and I was lucky enough to catch it too. Now we just have cold symptoms. We are grateful to have this to work on. It’s like therapy, it helps the healing.
