Time to welcome another new addition, only this time it's not a tractor.... On August 30th my wife and I welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl into this world. I've already made sure to inform my wife that I will in fact make sure she loves tractors, and now that we have a new family member that means I need to find her a tractor of her very own...right? Any tips or tricks for a first time dad, whether tractor related or not, are appreciated All jokes aside, I am just so grateful to have this little one in our lives. Thankfully everything went smooth, and both she and my wife are doing well. I have found myself inspired by watching my wife throughout this whole process, she took so quickly to being a mother and witnessing it has been amazing. I am a very fortunate, and lucky man.

Took this pic of some stored decks. From large to small. Some are just redone and stored, the 60 is one I use and I am done with it this season. The grass is slower now and the one neighbor is back from FLA so i can use my beater fall machine to finish up the season.

So wife and I decided we weren’t getting any younger. Bought an RV while we have the energy to enjoy it. I Also she said the grand kids were getting to a good age ??(1,2,3,5 years old) Not a toy hauler but can pull a trailer. PO removed kitchen table and put in this bar counter and double recliner We’re camping at Inks Lake State Park (15 miles from home) to learn the ropes. Still undecided if we’ll get a TOAD to pull behind it. Enjoyed doing some kayaking on the lake today.

In my opinion, having a lawn around a house is simply to prevent damage of weeds or vines growing into the siding… and to deter rodents from a clear path into a home. Otherwise, we cut it when the weeds are too tall Like the video said… my lawn is a reflection of my personality. Organized (loosely used that is) chaos.

If they are stale dip them in your coffee, if they are new.....dip them in your coffee. I like pumpkin pie, and soup but not fancy fofo drinks. just black coffee I think we should celebrate halloween in September. The candy is fresher.

First time I ever tried Armour All was in high school. I was cleaning my truck to take this girl out on a date. On my way there the first hard left hand turn I almost ended up on the passenger side. YUP that Stuff IS slippery. After i picked her up I made every hard RIGHT hand turn I could. 😃😃

Once upon a time I loved riding and mowing......the older I get the less appealing it has become. I am mostly built for comfort and less speed. I'd rather be messing with a wheel horse or some machine, light fabrication jobs, breakfast club meetings, and my favorite grandkids.

Great addition. Congrats to your spouse and you, and good luck. There are not enough words to describe the full range of feelings and responsibilities of parenting, but to me it has been immensely rewarding and a singular privilege to be entrusted with new life.

Be careful after you treat you r seat no matter what you decide to use. Some will make it really slippery. I almost fell off my horse a few year ago after i sprayed some Armour all on the seat. Some other stuff I have tried also made it slippery...

POR-15 treatment

Have been steadily reducing my lawn since we bought the place 30 years ago… trees, shrubs, no maintenance ground cover… Goal is no grass eventually… no water, no fertilizer, no weed killer…

Vinyl is tuff to bring back from being dry because it dosnt absorb anything you rub into it like leather would. 30 plus years in the leather repair business thought me at least that much. I always replace the seat with a new one. Keep looking you can find them on sale. Last one I got I got online for 75 bucks delivered.

Thanks for asking but I'm no fabicator. I do believe in sharing, for what its worth here is a photo of what I did. I salvaged the sheet metal from a water heater. Its very flimsey and easy to cut but with a rivet every inch the fender became solid after installation. There are a number of ways to make the sides uniform

Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing. The statistics are a bit of an eye-opener. While I understand the aesthetic appeal of a nice green lawn for some, I would just as soon have no lawn whatsoever and the area be covered with smaller gardens, rock pathways etc. We cultivate no grass on purpose on our property. It grows where it grows and we have less lawn every year because we are filling it in with things like I mentioned above and also raised garden beds. We've been considering growing a little bit of grass on the front of the house for several years in a row now because it would freshen up the look of the yard quite a bit. Haven't made any moves in that direction though yet because that's where we push snow..

Recovering a molded seat like that is nearly impossible. I contacted one of the best shops in that business and he said just buy a new seat. Even if you could piece together a cover, will it be waterproof?

We wouldn't expect anything different out of you I personally have never had any experience with the 5.7 diesels, but I know an old fella here in town that has one in a half ton Chevy pickup, and he absolutely loves it. He bought it brand new and completely restored it a few years back. Now the 6.2/6.5 diesels I have had some experience with, and while most people hated them as well I really liked the ones I've owned. Yeah they weren't a huge powerhouse by no means, but for something that was dependable and economical they did pretty well. We still have an 85 GMC 3500 out at the farm for a feed truck with the 6.2 and had the transmission not went out I'd probably still be feeding cows with it today. And probably the one truck I've ever had that I regret selling was my 94 Chevy 2500 with the 6.5, that thing got great mileage running down the highway, and never gave me any major issues

Where is the spring breaking? That could be a clue to what is causing the spring to fail. Working from memory, one end of the spring connects to a bolt on the deck, and the other end hooks into a hole in the tensioner bar. Assuming the hooks on the end of the spring are breaking, it might be due to sharp edges on the connection points. They could create a notch in the spring, which could lead to a fatigue failure at the notch - especially in a high vibration application on a deck. Good luck.

Do NOT use any sort of 'puller' on that Electric PTO...you WILL ruin it. (1) remove the 9/16 center bolt. Then follow the directions in this pic... When you put it back on, use the oroginal 9/16 bolt to 'draw' it onto the crankshaft. If you need parts...I have some...

I did this.

We had a metal roof installed back in April and May. Still a bit of trim to be finished up but it was time to get the waste pile moved into he trailer so it can go to the transfer station this weekend. Gotta get cleaned up 'round here what with us having a Meet n Greet coming up!! So we used the Cinnamon Horse C160 and Trina's 867 Pigpen tractor to pull a couple trailers over by the pile. We sorted out the material by type and loaded up. Oh, and bonus dog pic.....

So this isn't perfect by no means, but I couldn't look at the gaping hole in the grille any longer. Maybe someday I will end up with the correct parts to fix it rite. A scrap piece of aluminum, an old emblem from a trash 312-8 hood a bit of paint and no more hole.

Well, I got my 310 all back together and off the bench, so the C-121 went on. Gonna put all new tires on some nice wheels I have stashed, just have to put some paint on the fronts as I think they came off of a craftsmen. The look close enough to WH wheels to suit me, just have to make a couple of spacers. Pulled the fenders and tank to straighten out the fenders a bit and power wash the tank. The tank mounts were bent a bit and straighten those out as well as remove a couple of twisted off bolts for the seat mount. Took the cobbled up seat mount off and have a correct one coming off ebay. Pulled the OE muffler and think this one is gonna have a stack. Did a little repair on the PTO, adjusted it and replaced a couple of pins that were wrong. I think this is gonna make a handy dandy tractor, just isn't gonna be pretty for awhile. This is just a worker redo for now.

Yes and no, or not yet might be the appropriate answer. The factory left pedal neutral/ brake setup is still functional. I always referred to the left pedal on my hydros as my panic button. Kicking the left pedal centers the hydro and applies the brake. As far as some kind of dead man re-centering function, I planned to spring load the right pedal both directions to the center, but have not worked on that yet. Since the driver's right foot touches forward and reverse at the same time, I'm not sure how effective centering will even be yet, but will adjust as needed. I can put some pics and parts on another thread once it is all up and running. I'm sure there will be some adjustments once I get to test it out.

I did the same thing on Project Snowdrift. Its fairly comfy and also water proof. I was looking online this morning for a universal preformed vinyl shell for low back seats. I didn't find one but was pretty sure I have seen them before. Maybe I wasn't using the proper search term?

I changed my transmission fluid. The fluid that came out was dirty and old but not contaminated in anyway. With the old fluid looking as it did and I could only get the tractor up so high I was confident the transmission did not need flushing and that I would not be able to get all the kerosine after the flush. From there I just added in the new fluid. I checked the level which was full after 2qts. of 80-90 gear oil. I drove the tractor around through all gears and high and low ranged and checked it again. It was still full and clean. I installed the new transmission shifter boot and then the plow. While having the shift guide off I had a chance to monitor my parking brake “repair”. It was already starting to bend back. I straightened out the switch arm again and reinforced it with a wrapping of electrical tape. I was unable to install the wheel weights. The bolts I have are only eight inches long and come to the mounting hole in the wheel on the inside. I would need another inch. The local hardware store had 10 inch bolts but not enough threading to cut down. After looking elsewhere I figure I’d have to go buy the 10 inch bolts and extend the threading and cut them down. I also got a replacement gas cap with gauge. The original one had became unreadable and cracked with age. I also bolted on the plow bracket and attached the plow. A light horse day. After all the work I pushed some brush back in the rabbit patch with the blade.

Having a bit of quiet time in the garage this afternoon..... Cleaning up the old girl. Ita amazing how just a little paint changes the looks of things. 3 more to go.

Normally, everybody in my area thinks these old tractors are worth a mint. Feels good to get a decent deal once in awhile. I didn't even bargain with him, just paid the man his money! Yup, blade needs a little love! Randy
