I pulled out my old parts washer which must be pushing 15 years old and I haven't used it since before I moved into this shop. It still had a 1/2" of solvent in it! I moved here 6 years ago and its been sitting in the shed ever since! Best part is it still works! I really thought I might need a new pump, but she is purring right along!

The arm is supposed ride on the bottom of the cam. If you got it on top that would explain it breaking. Try Jim's advice of fishing thru the oil drain. If that doesn't work, get a pan gasket and unbolt the four pan bolts. Have your wife lift the engine from the pan and get the arm out. No need to unhook everything this way. Then take your time scraping the old gasket off cleaning the pan and gluing the new gasket on the pan while your wife continues to hold the engine up!

I have a good hearted,generous friend here at redsquare that’s nuts about 953s( hint,hint) named Richard. You may know him but I haven’t met him personally yet but hope to at next year’s big show. Anyways a couple threads back I asked about Hein Werner pumps and what they were worth. I started getting a lot of useful info especially from Lane Ranger. Later that day Richard emails me with a offer of a pump and cylinder he had but figured he’d never use. For only the cost of shipping I received the pump and cylinder a few days later. I’m anxious to get into it and hopefully make into a working unit. I can’t thank Richard enough for looking out for me so I would like to pay it forward. Hopefully it can continue. I’m not into this hobby to make money but I do try and recoup it thru stuff I don’t need to offset the addiction. I have a 1993 Eaton hydro out of a 520H I’ve been trying to sell but with no luck as I’m sure it’s a crapshoot not knowing the condition. I don’t know myself but only what I’ve been told by PO. That would mean nothing in court. So I would like to offer the hydro to anyone who wants it. I’m going to change my classified ad to show as much. In case ,I have several LTL trucking companies by me and my zip is 44286. I just wanted to share this with all,of you. Sorry for the long post but it’s shown me what’s important.

Because of the last months just Rain i needed urgently one Week Sun. To smoothened the last troublefull weeks Mrs. Tractorhead and i decide to spent few Day‘s in Italy. 760Km across 3 States Austria, Liechtenstein and Swiss to Italy. Drop all mobilephones switch off all electric stuff except for few Picts and away we went. What a beautiful Travel. the Mountains in Liechtenstein, Swiss and Italy where we had a Rest. 760 Km later we be on the Beach Daily 26 -30Deg C and just sunny Day‘s. What a difference. even in the night not 9 deg - no, 23 degrees was the coldest Night. few Peppers as „ souvenir“ but doe anybody knows what we have found here? we have no clue whats it. The Bush was interesting, so we asked if we be allowed to grab one, but also the Owner doesn‘t know exactly what it is. He only meant „i dunno, huh, it grows here...“ 😄 So where are the Plant experts?

Been over to my mate Dunc's place in Scotland today. We're fencing and making rabbit proof, what will be the vegetable garden. We were erecting the bottom section today. Pleased the digger is equipped with a post knocker. Back tomorrow to finish it. Rain stopped play. This is the view down from the house yard. New workshop on the first level. Vegie garden and woodsheds then two fields. The trees extend to the end of the fields on both sides. Going to be some clearing out this winter. I know one thing. We're never going be short of fire wood.

.... Or she'll find something to do. Trina found this little rotating table the other day, free. When she got it there was a bungee cord holding the bottom all together. Turns out it needed to be partially disassembled and glued in a few places. That done, she commenced to sanding down the top. You folks are gonna LOVE this one... A series of progress pics:

I don't have a bore scope, but I did stay at a holiday inn one time. Got it out. Could see it from the fuel pump hole, but couldn't get the magnet to it. Resolved to unbolt the engine and tilt it and hopefully move it to where I could latch onto it. That didn't work, but that's when I noticed the dipstick tube mount was bolted on with three allen head bolts. I removed it and the magnet-on-a-stick that I have went right to it and lifted it out. I've quit for the day since I've completely neglected any adult responsibilities after running down this rabbit hole early this morning. Now I'm back where I started from, with no fuel getting to carb due to fuel pump issues. Thanks for the tips, help, and laughs.

As @PeacemakerJack says to me quite often, sometimes the best deals are because of someone else’s misfortune. They purchased this for motocross events, for their up and coming star son rider. 1-1/2 years after they got this trailer, he broke his neck in a bad crash, ending his racing career. He has full and co plate movement now, but is not allowed to race by doctor’s and racing organization’s orders. This camper has sat with one or less camping trip per year since then. We ended up paying much less than the new one we had ordered, and this is so much more. Win/win. The Onan 5500 genny has just 270 hours on it and runs flawlessly. We have a standing offer to purchase or other camper, as soon as it’s cleaned out. Hopefully we’ll get it cleaned out tonight and I can deliver the other one tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I'm honored! Alive and better than ever! Long story but the short of it is I recently managed to get out of a very bad relationship, got my house and belongings back and my life back AND bought two more tractors! Great other than being about broke (cost a lot to rid myself of her!) but worth every penny! Oh! By the way! Recently took a trip from upstate NY to the Cincinnati area for my father's 90th birthday! One of the reasons I've had so little time. So where did we leave off? And how the heck do I get caught up?

When I bought the 420 it had the 520 type armrest on it. Don't know what happened to the originals. I had a spare set of 520 armrest so the search started to locate someone who would be willing to recover those with leather. Picked them up this afternoon on my way home from work and I feel they did a great job considering the task at hand. Now if I can get a second mortgage I may have the seat done over the Winter. I will be looking for opinions from those that will be here this weekend at the Meet to vote on leaving the seat original or having that redone to match the armrests.

Both make grass shorter so clearly they're identical.

I would take the @pullstart approach and just put a Kohler carb on your Techy. Problem solved.

Good One @ebinmaine! I’m thinking likely the two big big wheelrs and maybe hopefully 4 round hoods Tetris’d in there. There are quite a lot of tie down loops, so that shouldn’t be too hard either. Then of course a bonus round hood in front of the truck bed! I’m sure I can figure something out…

I was just thinking cardboard, but carpet is a great idea! I might scour CL for tear outs, then just pressure wash the snot out of a piece before getting it in there. Cut it for all the tie down loops and rock ‘n roll!

Spring for the Goodyears ... don't ask me how I know! That's odd as mine is labeled a 24pack14 24" length , 14 ft garage. The garage is measured from just under the TV mount so the kitchen chews up a bit of room. You should easily get four in there. Be interesting to see how the senior and lever nest up in there. Pick up a cheap piece of outdoor carpet for the garage area. Then I lay cardboard down for when the horses pee.

The sidewalls are checked pretty bad so I have to get some 12 plys on order. 325 stands for I don’t have a clue. It’s 40’2” from the center of the 5th wheel pin to the back bumper. 13’ garage.

Just because someone doesn't need or want a particular item, doesn't mean it isn't worth more to someone who wants/needs one. Like Paul said. It's worth what someone is willing to pay. Go to the big show and try to buy the wagon pictured for " $150-$200 tops" I'll hang up and listen!

May I suggest you use Loctite Nutlock on the bolt threads.

It is a good idea to use oil to prevent rust, just don't expect it to last more than a few minutes of mowing. I clean my decks often and at the end of the season I give it a real good cleaning, followed by a coating of Fluid Film. I use Fluid Film because it stiffens a bit and doesn't run, staining the floor. Setting a deck out in the sun will do nothing.

Like @Gregor said. If you have fuel getting to the carburetor but your spark plug remains dry, then I would suspect either a clogged main jet, clogged emulsion tube, or no compression. No compression would mean that there is nothing to suck the fuel air mixture into the cylinder. Things to check 1. Does the engine seem to turn over really easy? Turn the engine by hand, you should feel resistance as it reaches the compression stroke. 2. Remove the air cleaner and hold you hand over the carburetor while turning the engine over, you should feel suction at the carb. 3. Remove the spark plug & hold your finger over the hole while turning the engine over. You should feel pressure trying to blow your finger off from the hole. If you find that you don't have compression, then it's time to pull the cylinder head off and see what happened. Hole in the piston, broken rod, or a valve stuck open.

I have noticed on here that some members say that the acidic nature of grass eats away at the aluminum spindle housings...and some recommend painting the aluminum spindle housings to help protect and prevent this. Have any of you guys on here painted them and have enough time on the painted housings to verify if it helps ?

I too like this idea a bunch! Having some wheelchair experience myself (by choice so far, not necessity) I imagine a trailer deck dropped to the ground, with a simple lift system such as an oversized mower deck height adjustment system. Think a long lever for lifting it 4” off the ground or so in a parallelogram fashion…

I have kind of been waiting for the kids to want to get back into their RJ58 build moods, but them two Maineiacs sent me all the transmission guts I think I need and even some more that will just be spares for a ‘58 for the simple cost of please and thank you. This one was a keeper as well for many years but something went wrong, very wrong... And for WAY too long! Lot's of difficulties but finally it's mostly over! THANK GOODNESS! Back to the real world! House, yard, gardens, shops, tractors all are screaming for me to help them!

Belts really don't stretch. The sides wear and the belt will set deeper into the pulleys and give the impression that they stretched.

here’s a simple one for ya Jim,.. an old truck hood as a caboose! Roll them on, hook up and flatten the road a bit in the meantime! Add a bucket of tar on the trailer in front of it and you’ll have yourself the fanciest Sylvan Lake WH&RR pot hole fixer on the block!

Those wagons always had too short of a hitch to pull around by hand. I bet it was lengthened so the tall owner didn't have to bend over while moving it into position. Burrly1 got one that was NOS...gave about $800 for it. I think the guys above are way too low in the price. Change out those tires and it is a $500 to $600 trailer. This was John's NOS...paid $800. This was mine...paid $500. Notice how short the hitch is and it will not lift up high enough to pull by hand without bending over.

X2 That's all I use. Local, no shipping, good price, good life, and if in doubt on the length, I buy several lendths and return the ones that don't fit.
