Starting to pack now. Didn’t know if we were definitely coming because my friend wasn’t able to go and didn’t how to bring 2 horses on my little trailer. yesterday my sons and I cut an opening in the side of the trailer and now they fit. The loading platform we built worked great. The c141 will block the road debris and bugs from hitting the fresh paint on the 877 . we will see you tomorrow.

Not good ... my navigator was busy picking his nose and we missed our exit so 294 it was & you were right. I fired the navigator and threatened to confiscate his tractors.

I then gave it a wash-down and got it off the trailer (when the points were dried out!). It even had the original manual, still! The owner said he had been using it the last 30 years mainly to plow snow or haul logs in a cart around his property. The motor started and ran strong, but as I mentioned the PTO was stuck on, so the motor did NOT like starting with that kind of load. I took the pulley off and it looks like the reason it was stuck was because the shaft had some rust on it. The pulley itself did too, causing the friction plate to hang. After removing the rust and giving a nice wipedown and oiling, the PTO functioned perfectly. The engine was MUCH happier. The tractor even cut grass very well, although it's pretty clear the blades need sharpened.

First fuel stop... 119 miles in! Remember, the farm truck gas gauge doesn’t work... so we have to guess fuel level.

Managed to pick up a C121 that needs some work. Runs really rich, no air cleaner and needs a head gasket. But runs pretty smooth after it warms up just a bit and no smoke or engine noises. Needs a seat assembly too. I think I will end up moving my loader over to it, my 1277 is getting really tired and I don't want to tear it up. I will put it up on the workbench when the 310 comes off and it's getting close to done now.

I repair a sheared roll pin on the gear selector of my 414-8. I also cleaned off the dirt that my last wash did not reach. Some of that dirt was a 1988 vintage! I now have a happy Horse and Deere ready for the next cut.

Hey everyone. I snagged my third Horse last week, which also happens to be my first "real" non-Toro produced Horse (my others being a 1990 312-H and a 2002 314-8)- a 1974 B-80. I always monitor local Horse selling activity around my area here in St. Louis, but given i didn't "need" to take on a project, I always have just been sitting on the sidelines. I noticed a B-80 went up for sale local for only $200, with a blade and wheel weights (!), that also appeared to be in sound mechanical condition. I messaged them right away and I was the first to say I'd pick it up sight un-seen, so it was mine. I went with a trailer and bam. Even better, it ran great! The only issue I could see was that the PTO was stuck on. Heck of a deal!

Picking up this little gem this weekend for my garage. Saw the post on FBM about 45 minutes after it was posted. Luckily, I was the first one to contact the seller, and struck up a deal. I'll get some more pics after I get it. My plan is to figure out a way to slow it down to use with metal. Currently, it is the single-speed version without the speed-reducing gearbox. I'm going to go through it, probably order new urethane tires, and may do a bearing kit depending on how everything looks.

Well the boy and I traveled throughout the day to get down to Gettysburg. We took our time and made a few of the regular stops along the way. we checked into our hotel and are now just sitting down for dinner at the Gettysburger Company. All the “recommended” places had a 1 he plus wait. Safe travels all! See you soon

I absolutely love mine. I got an inexpensive roller and dad had the engine on his shelf that he never used and I put it together about four or five years ago and it has been incredible. It has tons of power and even with my oversized engine pulley it will push snow in high gear without even breathing hard. As far as their toughness, my brother bought his kids a mini bike with a Predator engine in it about 12 years ago. He’s not one for maintenance and that engine has never had the oil changed once and other than me checking it whenever my kids ride it, the oil never gets checked. It still starts on the first or second pull after all these years. Here’s mine with a few tweaks over the years.

Thanks. It worked out perfectly. I used a 10’ stick of angle iron. mine is 5x10 hack away lol. It was easy.

I wanted to get some ags and ribs, so i called a friend up that restores Wheel Horses (what-up Ric!). He had some tires that were perfect. Some mounted Carlisles with tubes and brand new Deestone Air Locs with tubes. I had a local place mount the fronts to the original wheels. The rear tires were bigger than the originals I got it with, and the size was about perfect. You can see in some of the pics the difference. After getting it all mounted up, it turned out great! Up next is some deep cleaning and getting the mower deck up the snuff.

Worked on the 1257Heavys snorkel! Notched out the hood and open and closes mint. Need to make a few brakets to stiffen it up a bit but idea is there probly going to find pipe with a 90° bend in it or get 1 more so I can move the snorkel a couple inches back right now its challenging land rights with my headlight.

The serial number tag, and the key chain are on the C-125A. That means it's officially done. I believe the tractor is VERY sound mechanically. As with all my tractors there are places where the paint could be better, but then there are a lot of places where it could be worse. I did some re-paint after the gas can fiasco, I think it turned out OK. I got the "creep" adjusted out of the trans, so it's fine now. The motor starts immediately, and sounds great. To me anyway. Now that it's done, it's time to move on to the 175.

Jim, really enjoyed seeing you guys this morning. Thank you for the Welcome Mat!! How was your trip around Chicago??

Any additional hp you can squeeze out of that will be negligible except to your wallet. Best suggestion I can throw into this conversation is to install a Kohler k321 or a k341. You are about a hour away from me. I’ve got a rebuilt k321 wheel horse spec ready to drop in to that work horse.
