14 pointsMy life is kinda...messy...at the moment. But spent the last few wks north, up by my folks, just to...regroup. Did a lil 'tractoring' too. Hadda be sure the 'new' (stole from my 160) front tires n rims, which my Dad helped me mount, workedout, ya know, on the 312-8 my Dad gave me in '17 that started this whole adventure. Come spring, shes getting full tuneup/cleanedup, & a rear discharge deck mounted, I hope. Thinking im going to do the rims up in gloss black, just to be different, lol. For now, nice for trail rides... And Annie seems to like leading it, on her runs, lol. I love this tractor.

6 pointsWell I bought another project.....a C121 8 speed. This one is a little rougher than my C161 but it ran great and has the electric lift option. I’m going to work on this over the winter and use it as a lesson for the C161 next summer. Think all in all it has good bones and should come out great with any luck.

6 pointsEvening, all. Grabbed this dinosaur today. It's a Champion plug cleaner/tester. Has a little sand blaster in the top and various rubber plugs for different threads. It has a button hooked to a model T ford ignition coil, and a little mount with mirrors on top to see into the plug as it fires, along with what seems to be some sort of ammeter. So far nothing works at all, but I have hardly looked into it. There's a large rotating knob in the top that does .. something? Havent figured it out yet. The rest seems fairly obvious and its just stuck from sitting. Has anyone messed with one of these dinosaurs? I see tons of pictures online, but no videos of one working, nor any posts of someone talking about one..

6 pointsI can never find one of these for my Horse. However, I built one for an Ariens by converting a 48" ATV setup. It is intended for light snows only, we'll see how it goes. I'd say it'd be a similar job converting one for a Horse. Frame cut down and modified moldboard ripped longways and test fitted painted and relocated new shorter trip springs

4 pointsI picked this C-165 up today about 45 minutes east of me . The previous owner pulled the engine to use for his pulling tractor. I got it for 60 bucks but haven't decided what exactly to do with it yet, but have an idea or two. Just couldn't pass it up for that amount. I also picked up this 10 inch Brinly for 50 bucks along with a Cub Cadet sleeve hitch about two weeks ago. I usually see them around me for 125 on up. It needs to be cleaned up but its all there.
-
4 pointsThanks Pete, when I went to look at it I could see it had a future and as time goes by just looking at it parked I get idea's to do this and that. Having fun with it and not putting much $ into and very happy with the results, in fact it runs awesome compared to it's looks. Before and after pics so far.

4 pointsBEHIND THE DASH... When I purchased this 1967 WH 1277 it had sat for several years. I cleaned out the mice nest behind gas tank and changed the ignition. After some other minor repairs I got it started. Now I wanted to drive it. Unfortunately, every time I disengaged brake to move forward it stalled. Throttle was rusted in place. So I’m replacing throttle, cig lighter, some type of red light and accessory switch. The red light rusted on for life I think,

2 pointsThis horse followed me home today! I think its in good shape even though its ready for a good maintenance rundown. Came with a 48" deck that needs some maintenance as well. One question: The previous owner said the ignition switch has a bad connection and will vibrate off? Is this a known problem? Should I search for a new switch or can I clean it up or do you think its a wiring issue? I plan to change: Oil Air filter Transmission oil and filter Spark plugs Grease as per manual Battery terminals have some corrosion It might have a transmission leak. Going to have to clean things up and take a closer look. Anything that you would do before I put it into service? I will spend a week or two fixing things then store it for the winter.

2 pointsThe Raider 10 needed a new positive battery cable today after the old one fell off. PO had a bad connection and burned most of the terminal away. I had it sandwiched with some oversized washers on the battery end. When it fell off after starting, I figured it was time to fix it right. Unfortunately, I needed to take the fuel tank off to get to the ignition. While waiting for the spilled gas to dry, I decided to do a little bit of cleaning and waxing. I think it was @AMC RULES that said they used Johnson's paste wax to make their old machines look good. I had a can around and got to work. Also grabbed my 303 aerospace protectant. Got the hood, fenders, seat, steering wheel, gas tank, engine tins, and air cleaner looking pretty decent. If I need to burn some more time I'll continue. Oh, and I unclogged the breather in my gas cap. I was thinking it might have been part of my problems getting this horse to run right, but it wasn't. Might try installing my other carb to see if it works better.

2 pointsI’ve always thought that an eight speed and electric lift would be an excellent rototilling tractor.

2 pointsOh snap, some1s havin a bad day.... prob the compact car owner.

2 pointsThe light is a Generator Indicator light and will go out if the generator is working. The replacement light is Cole-Hersee PL 20 RC. This diagram will help.
-
2 pointsSwap the battery with one from another tractor. See if the corrosion goes along with it. Could be a tiny leak in the battery case

2 points12 HORSE, NICE PICTURES, that paint looks like the perfect time to marvel mystery oil that finish . on a clean cloth rub down every painted surface, even engine tins , to stop rust and bring back that paint . rub it on till it " breaks the dull look " and rub down till dry . I have done this on my horses , and the lubrication feed to the paint brings it back . sorry if I changed your view , do what ever you want , pete

2 pointsMy 1974 Wheel Horse B-80 is my go to tractor for most any kind of work or project outside needing a tractor! I think this design was one of the best Wheel Horse made.

2 pointsA Scotchbright & straight acetone finally cut through all the rubber gunk. Sealed the new paint with Eastwoods Diamond Clear coat. Certainly not perfect, but a night and day improvement over what I started with. Going to work until a better one is found.

2 pointsSo one of the guys that I work with has been listening to me ramble on for a few years now about my WH tractors and how I use them and how the stable has grown. A few months ago, he told me that if I ever found another deal on a WH, then he would be interested. Well today was finally that day. He doesn't do FB Marketplace (just Craigslist), so when I saw this one on there this morning for $100, I sent the seller a message, because I was going to take it no matter what. I had a prior commitment and couldn't get there today by the time he wanted so I texted my work buddy and gave him the address while I played the go between the them both on Messenger. He is now the proud owner of a '86, 414-8. Now I just have work to get him on here!
