12 pointsVery rare full length saw sharpening vise 26” long. Ordinary they are 10” to 14” long forcing one to reposition saw at least once during sharpening which is a major annoyance.Been looking for one close to 15 years finally scoring this one.

10 pointsLet's see... It's Green, with yellow trim... It ended up dying... yep - it's a John Deere.

8 pointsFirst time in at least 20 years this tractor ran and drove!!! 2nd pull it came to life, no smoke no noises,. Wow this is light in the front, I never drove one of these, even at 1/2 spd and 2nd gear she wants jump. I have to figure out something with the throttle cable. I can see why people hacked these hoods up back in the day

6 pointsA friend of mine was at a auction this last Monday and I found out what he brought home and I had to ask if it was for sale it’s a tiger 450 I don’t know a bunch about it Same rear end as a suburban but I thought it was neat and I believe kinda rare it was bought from original one owner
-
6 pointsYes, the shaft can be sleeved to 1 1/8. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-to-1-1-8-inch-1-4-Key-Gas-Engine-Pulley-Crank-Shaft-Sleeve-Adapter-Predator/252430716490?hash=item3ac60b0e4a:g:1JwAAOSwOIlbza8~

5 pointsMy father passed away in January, and has had this garden tractor for as long as I can remember. I am contemplating a restoration as a memorial to him. He was an avid "puller" in the early 80's and even a hobby puller later on. I know this piece doesn't have a lot of original, but I would love to put it back to the state he would have pulled it in the 80's. First step is to find out what it is. I believe it to be early to mid 60's. I have no idea from there. The serial number plate is still there, but only "61862" is legible. Any help/history would be awesomely recepted. Thanks for helping a newby out.

5 pointsThere are lots of good members here that will help you through any problem you may encounter. If you have an electric motor hanging around you could belt it up to the transmision to bench test it.
-
5 pointsWith out an engine and belt there is nothing to hold the transmission input pulley from spinning, so it will roll in every gear. After you find an engine for it and get it installed, I would change the fluid in the transmission and give it a try. If there is an issue with the tranny we will gladly help you through that process.,

5 pointsLoaded up the Cargo Pro trailer with it's first WH for a ride back to Maine. This one will be at the Meet & Greet without all it's sheet metal, just didn't want it to miss out on all the fun.

4 pointsAaand next step... because i see after hard rain the last few Day‘s lightly oxydation on the tie rod ends, i decide to change them to Waterresistant Versions from light Cars. So i mounted them today on and after dismount the Frontwheels, i see there are Ballbearings. That‘s the great issue, but i also see while lifted frontaxle a wear in the spindles. i called a friend, if he is able to rework that for me and may bushing it? He told me yes, but you hopefully not in a hurry otherwise i must pass. I told him i have time and will be patient until he had more time to do that. for me it‘s actually not a hurry, but if he can redo, i wanna have it qualified and that needs it‘s time i know that. At least i found few fence post caps, they will fit as Waterprotection caps over the spindle tops, looks pretty slick and water have no chance further to penetrate my frontaxle Spindles. they be 34 mm in diameter and with a bit force, they will fit snug over the Spindleends. After that was done, i did a testdrive with the mole rake. The first completely non rainy day since a Week. Btw, i love that electric impact wrench i bought, it‘s fairly fix and works perfect for the horse. the whole change depends just 12 min. Cool 😎

4 pointsI'll bet @WHX24 has a guard that will fit your 308-8. Welcome to Red Square. I'd say there is nothing wrong with your trans, but what you could do (instead of pushing it around) is jack up the rear end and try a few things that way. 1. with both wheels off the ground and the trans in neutral...spin one of the wheels in a direction...the other wheel should spin in the opposite direction. Do the same with the other wheel. If it works both ways, with no slips or funny noises, then your differential is good to go. 2. put trans into 1st gear...turn the intake pulley in a counter-clockwise direction...one or both wheels will turn in a forward direction. 3. Repeat with the rest of the gears. when you get to reverse, the wheels should turn in that direction. 4. Don't be shocked if only one wheel turns...simply get someone to hold that wheel from turning, and the other one should start to turn. 5. If you can shift between hi and low range, then that part is good. 6. If all goes smooth, you have a good trans.

3 pointsMany of the WHs with the fuel tank under the seat require some priming if they haven't been used for awhile, or if you've just changed the filter or lines. Take the disconnected fuel line, and route it downhill from the fuel tank valve. If you don't get any fuel by gravity feed, then the problem is inside the tank, either a clogged filter on the valve, or a defective valve. I usually empty the tanks and rinse them with fresh gas whenever I do a rebuild. It's amazing how much junk can collect there. Usually have to also replace the valve. If the fuel flows with just gravity, then you might want to put an inline primer bulb to get it to flow uphill to the fuel filter and pump. I bought marine type primer bulbs with 6mm connections on ebay, and they work great on three of my tractors. Good luck, Jim

3 pointsto firstly Sorry for your loss, second i like the idea of a memorial Horse. Awesome little Machine. i hope you have a lot of Fun with it.
-
3 pointsReally stoked about being able to get it .Didn't come cheap at all but when one sees something like this there is never time to worry about money if one really wants it. Many eyes out there looking for the same thing. To my knowledge the first one that has come to light in at least 15 years. Of course as usual now will probably start to show up once owners now how much it is worth.

3 pointsMy mother is English, she gives me my dry sense of humour. I'm sure you've heard of bailing wire mechanics or perhaps even watched a few Red Green duct tape episodes where he uses duct tape to repair most everything. Matt prefers using his welder.

3 pointsI would think you would be hearing more than what you are hearing if the trans is bad... I'd go with @Achto and @ebinmaine's advice...
-
3 pointsIf in every gear you push it and the input pulley of the transmission is turning, the chances are the transmission is good. The only way to know for sure of course is to break it open and check things over.

3 pointsI don't use Lucas but I do use Mobile. Same thoughts with no issues. Racing oil is probably a better choice than additives. I managed heavy industrial maintenance for over thirty years and found oil manufactures have lots of products designed and engineered to match the need. I always looked at additives as if you take vitamins cause your diet is poor. I am not brand loyal and most major manufactures have some kind of racing or high performance fluids. This is just the info sheet from Mobil. mobil-1-racing-product-guide.pdf

3 pointsThank you all for the help. I had some rubber wire grommets that fit. They've got a hole in the middle for wires, but still work great as bumpers. Man, I was getting annoyed at the way those tabs were scuffing the paint. Now it all makes sense. 😂

3 pointsNice haul Tom!! Wife & I are having a staycation this weekend. But ya I'm a bit tractor heavy. Jim may be tractor heavy, but he still would have been all over that haul if he wasn't dedicating this weekend to score some Joe Exotic underwear before supplies are gone.

2 pointsIf you can handle working on a Peerless then you'll have no issue whatsoever with these transmissions. Super easy. When you get around to testing it be sure you have a belt guard installed and adjusted correctly. The belt guard is the belt guide and it Must be there or you have no clutching.
-
2 pointsLeave it to the electrical guru to make this all sound so easy! Great work, again!
-
2 pointsPut a renewed #1623 idler pulleys on my 701 Wheel Horse with the hydro pump and CBR-327 chain drive sickle bar mower. Prondzy does an excellent job replacing the bearings on these old #1623 riveted pulleys. See vendor section for more information on his repair service! i had to take off the hydro pump and the hydro pump brAcket to get the belt guard off! I was surprised ho we’d good the drive belt looked after four years! Not changing it! The old pulley was noisy and the bearings were very rough once removed - so I used one of my rebuilt ones.

2 pointsDo another more... build a new coil winding spool System for thicker Coils with 2 halves. Simple 4 mm screw keep it together, but i wind it by Hand. i would do it definitely as a Handcrafted Part not as a „machined“ part, because i‘m proud of the first Coil that works. On Doing i grab the old transformerspool and wound down 40 Windings on the old transformer, than i cleaned the Wire carefully with degreaser in hope not to destroy the thin insulation it seems it works and the insulation still be kept, but alot of paint could be removed. 1:0 for me . After that i clamped one side of the Wire on trunk coupler of my car and straighten this whole Wire by pulling 2 times quick to a gently span. The wire lay‘s down nearly as a straight and after that i wound it looseley on a empty spool i had laying arround, to have it not too strong rebended again. As before i previously build a cardboard keeper for the Spool, to be able remove it easier later from spoolholder. Than i rewind again a new Coil with 76 Windings @ 1mm Wire. Here is the spool only on the undersite of the Spool holder. Yap, 76 Windings can be made to reach only that thickness. The coil also fits snug on previous build Coil mount on a try. because of lack of battery, my Ohmmeter tell‘s me some lies. ok, i shall maybe replace next day’s the Battery in my Meter.. 😎
