I've been working on our RJ/Suburban display in our tractor garage recently and just thought I'd share a few pictures.

A couple more pictures. Early 1958 RJ58's #1099, 1789 and 1959 RJ58 # 1221 The bottom picture includes Suburban 551, Clinon powered 401 and 550 models.

Well, if it's aloud then here you go! There's a couple not pictured here, but here's a few. My EPCO collecting focus has always been the early models, pre-1964 and the different brands that they were sold under (Economy, Power King, Power Queen, Country Squire, National, Red E)

I had four of the five RJs out today for a motor warm up! All but one started on first or second pull on the recoil! still working on the governor/throttle setting on my West Virginia RJ with the oil bath air cleaner. Not 100% satisfied with settings yet.

For a real testosterone boost.....cut some steel with fire.

Thanks! That's the frame for the reel mower on our 1955 RJ35. For storage I just pull the mower off.

Didnt get to far; havin some issues, but got my small engine guy stoppin by tomorro to look at the 160/starter issue, so wish me luck!...but i did get to let the General stretch its legs a bit; took him to my auto mechanic (oposite end of my block, lol; least i got to open 'im up😁) to see. He's a car guy...but i think he was droolin' a lil' 😁🤣

My older daughter wanted to drive the 704 tonight! I am not going to say no to a request like that! She got a little scared when I put it in road gear at partial throttle. Oop's She can't reach the pedal on the little 704 yet. I need to get the hydro tractor fixed so she can give that one a try.

So today I evaluated all of my stuff that I had acquired from the elderly man...A Wheel Horse Dealer…..and wow. WHAT a cool collection he had..…Had because I have it now. And I am so proud to own it.. I have so many things to list and take pictures of. I want to be able to get things to people that they need....for a reasonable cost. Shipping sucks !!!! The money they make is silly and uncalled for. But Im sure I have a lot of goodies in my pile that you all may want or need. Im not looking to make a killing, as Richmondred1 can tell you....Im looking for a fair price, and for somebody to finish or start the project of their dreams.. Wheel Horse tractors are one of a kind. There are no others to compare. If you buy I nice Wheel Horse, and feed it right......SERVICES, MAINTENANCE...… Give it the love it needs, you will NEVER...……………..NEVER...……………..NEVER...……………. Need to get another tractor. Grease, oil changes ,air pressure in tires for an even cut....and always good fuel, it will be the key to never buying a junk mower from a big box store. They don't make TRACTORS anymore...…...they make stamped steel mowers .YOU WILL TOSS THEM OUT IN 2-3 YEARS. Don't waste your hard earned money on JUNK. …….That my red friends is what I did today on my WHEEL HORSE

I wanted to start a thread on what funny tractor memes folks have or have seen online. LOL The last 2 I made from other post i found i just changed them. The 50 shades of grey one the photo below it is my actual shed and my machines. Even the wife thought this one was funny! LOL

At work today I was talking with our HR person and he told me of this Massey Harris that might be for sale. It looks in really good shape. He told me that he can't get it running. Not sure where I would put it but I would sure love to have this sewing machine.!

Beautiful job on that! The tractors are nice enough being just what they are but I love all the little touches like the wrenches, the boxes, the book, etc. All those little things add an entirely different depth...

Thanks guys! No, I don't use this garage for a shop; it's just used for storage and display of part of our tractor collection. Yep, we do have a collection of Economy tractors as well. It's really the EPCO (Economy/Power King) tractors that got me into collecting garden tractors being made here locally in Wisconsin with a lot of local history. Over the past few years, my collecting has evolved and most recently into the Pond family of early tractors. I used to store the bigger Economy's in this garage but they are just too big for this little garage in order to walk around, or even to get them out. The smaller Wheel Horses and Speedex tractors I collect fit in here much better. Thanks! I've always had a certain hard to find, some NOS parts stashed away as well as wrenches, etc. It's fun to display them as well until I have a project I need the parts for and in my opinion, they compliment the tractors and help tell a story as well.

Here’s another oldie....Grandma with my wife...the cute little blond on grandmas left...with her sisters on the new wheel horse...Photo is 1961 or 63. Any guesses on the model? Black and White brownie or instamatic ?? Not a lot of detail but it has the Vee shaped front grill...

I got those tires too !!! First time the Lambert has had all 4 tires on the ground in a loooong time. I still think thats one good looking tractor. Would look a heck of alot better with a engine in it !!!! I see a little Kohler on Ebay. Kohler SH series. Anyone know anything about them?

I had little to do, for a change, on Sunday. I had put 10W-30 in the Eaton 7 on the 516 and didn't like it. Told myself I could pull it out without removing the fender so it took less time - wish that drain was more accessible! It worked and she's got the straight 30W she prefers. Meanwhile, the old wreck of a 77 C-120 had no problem mowing the back grass and weeds just before dark. She might need a full restore cosmetically but she's mechanically sound and just goes and goes.

Now that Comanche is back up and running with the IronMan genny engine, Judge reminded me that I had promised him we would get working on the blue Falcon. So, this evening I left Caleb working on a home made bench project for his mother and we went to pick up the buggy. It was buried in my uncles barn with three years of dust/dirt on it but otherwise not to much worse for the wear. We loaded it on the trailer and brought it back home. I told the boys that it needed to be cleaned up first before we start the troubleshooting process. Judge said, “How can something that looks so good, not run?” Good question son...hopefully we can get to the bottom of it soon and have this machine back up and going. I am excited to get working on Blackbeard with Caleb.

So yesterday I'm sitting down talking to the wife and she tells me oh BTW One of her patients has an all wheel horse sitting outside. She is around 90 YO . Now up till now she has not even cared about my collection of what I do. so I was not really sure how to handle this delicate decision. I told her next time you see her to say that I am interested but I have no idea what model or anything that it is.

The inside of the electric clutch is threaded, mine on a '70 GT-14 was a 1"-8 NC bolt thread. Run the bolt in against the end of the crank shaft and it will push the clutch off. You cab borrow one from ACE, buy it and then bring it back telling them it was not the correct size.

I've got the custard.

Oh I almost forgot this one I have this hanging up in my shed! This is close to my favorite one. LOL

Kind of a long day at work, then a ride out about an hour from here to look at some tractors (non-WH) that I thought could be flipped for some extra $$...not sure how that is going to work out yet. Got home and the wife had fishy taco’s made ! Now it’s time to relax with Red Square and a “Mikes” ( hey! That’s my name ) in my fav koozie.

You have bearing/hub issues.This could be caused by a worn spindle,or hub or bearings.You probably have an issue with all three.The steering arm to spindle weld is broken as well so look from the bottom as you do the left to right slop test.I definitely see that the arm is moving relative to the spindle.

The real old fashioned way is to let the smoke bomb out. Tried and true method perfected by Joseph Lucas “The Prince of Darkness “

The general consensus is that it’s “one and done”, and I prefer that theory over the possibility of getting it again. But the Covid virus is somewhat new so who knows, but my Dr. said I shouldn’t get it again (note he said shouldnt, he covered his butt )

I built some anti theft bars for some skylights in a building that has experienced break ins... 2-1/8” tubing 1/8” wall, spaced with about 4” gaps. 14 bolts in each one holding them in. That aughtta slow them down at least!

My Dad had a one wheel tractor . Not sure if it was that brand , but it was a PITA to use , always something wrong with it . He finally dismantled it and sold for scrap when it ran into the oil tank and broke the line to the furnace could not get it out of gear. Man he was P**Sed .

Today was a sunny day. So I have been helping the neighbor girls rehab their Duck coop (ducks to come) and we got the horse out to stretch her legs and haul the coop where they girls wanted it. We added extra bracing, put doors back on with new hinges, repaired the roof, then the girls painted it. The two girls on the outside are the neighbor girls and the girl in the center is my granddaughter. Got the charging problem fixed, I think so of course had to get her out for awhile.

Bc gold, I had better not. My wife would blow a gasket. I just finished a 190xt turbo diesel that I put a cab on. It runs my round baler and odd jobs around our place. Awesome tractor. Love the sound of a 301 turboed.

So i was thinking of something that might be fun to research and make sticky on the forum. If we can come up with a suppliers list for parts for Wheel Horse. Break it down by the years or the style of tractor? Not sure what makes sense but i have found recently parts that wheel horse say are NLA are still made from the suppliers i have looked at. So far i have found just these below, id love to see what everyone else has found out. I have also found during my engine build some parts Onan says are NLA Toro has in stock and ones Toro says are NLA Onan dealers have. All parts below are listed as discontinued by Toro 1980s-2007 Wheel Horse Safety switch interlock - Toro PN 103480 ( this switch is manufactured by EMB Corp and is a 602 Switch http://www.embcorp.com/600_SP.html ) Seat Saftey Switch - Toro PN 38-1420 ( This is a similar switch used in forklift seats. Hyster PN 1354140 https://www.amazon.com/Hyster-1354140-Forklift-Safety-Switch/dp/B009SEJM6C ) Seat - Michigan Seat Company - Toro PN VARIOUS ( While the company has been bought and name changed this is the original seat manufacture and they do offer seats in similar styles https://www.milsco.com/seating-solutions/turf-care/ ) Gauges - Stewart Warner - Toro PN VARIOUS ( Wheel horse used Stewart Warner gauges on early model machines unsure who they went to after or if Toro just re branded the gauge. ) Sending unit 520H - ( I'm waiting to find the official part number however my research says the sending unit was a Stewart Warner and the style is still in production. ) More to come as i keep searching. Does anyone know who made the tins for the tractors? Did Toro do that in house? If so did Toro retain all the molds and dyes for the transaxle and body work? I think i recall hearing they destroyed the dye for the transaxle hydro and that is why they only produced an 8speed after 1997.

Hitch pins is precision work, other wise I would've used a cordless drill. I can assure you that each of the hitch pins that I made was precisely measured with a micrometer, marked with chalk, & then cut with an axe.
