22 pointsA neighbor called and asked if I wanted a WH tractor. This Raider 10 is what I found behind his garage. I offered to fix it up and sell it for him, but He said he didn't want paid for it...he just wanted it gone. I told him about the Big Show and suggested we donate it to the WHCC for a raffle . So, I contacted the WHCC and they have agreed to accept it for the raffle. I have been working on it and got it running pretty well. It starts one turn and runs with no smoke. It does need some choke and searches at low speed. I will continue working on the carb. It runs great at WOT. I have had the deck apart. The tensioner pulley and slide were frozen. They have been replaced. The spindles bearings feel OK, although the deck is pretty loud and has a rust thru spot. It does run in all gears and mows well. Got the lights and even the cigar lighter to work. It is all original paint and tires. I had to patch a tube in one tire. They have some cracking but all have good tread and now hold air. I painted the wheels. The tins are really good and straight with only minor rusting. I did some rust removing and cleaning. Here's what she looks like today. If the Corona doesn't cancel me or the Big Show, we will be there. You could win a Raider 10.

10 pointsOk, I didn’t have too far to go to lose it! I just finished up a deal with a very nice guy from Indiana, Mark Himelick. He’s getting ready to purchase his first house and is liquidating a few of his tractors. If you see this Mark, thanks buddy! I’m getting a 1045 and a 656 from him for fair money. I’m very pleased. I’ve been looking for a 1045 and he made an offer on both that was pretty fair. The 1045 has the wrong hood on it right now, but the correct one comes with it. @pullstart, I have no idea how many horses I have now! Me thinks me might have to sell a few now to thin the herd maties! Just thought I’d share. Have a good night everyone!

9 pointsPicked up another parts Wheel Horse RJ today! Saved for ten years by the previous owners father and he just did not get time to redo for his daughter. Three front wheels and two nice rear wheels. No motor nd steering tight. I bought mostly for the transmission which is very greasy and that is usually a good sign! Plus it has been inside for the last ten years! looks like I might be able to save the front wheels and rear wheels with Opps not B F Goodrich but Goodyear Sure Grips! Interesting set of genders and gender frame in this! I guess owner did not have the toolbox and Wheel Horse fender set on the tractor. And the RJ mower deck is not in terrible condition either! Not bad for all at $60 ! IMG_1158.MOV

7 pointsLooks very stylish, i like it and i bet it will last much longer than Plastic.👍 I do today a bit a rework on my turn Plow. So i set it deeper in the Mounting point, that the Load axle gets deeper. Why ? I read a lot about Plow’s and different setups on them and do several measurements. As i measured, the Pull angle seems too high, so my though was, if i reduced the height, it gets easier in the Soil and have a better down pressure on the rear axle after that change of Angle. After that change i try it in the muddy soil after and it seems my measurement works, i was able to pull it even in a muddy soil deeper than before, where the Soil was much dryer. It sticks if i try too deep, but with the hydraulics i can adjust it while in work. The slip can be seen left side on the grass. yes, it was on the grass not in the mud. Pretty cool. Not a good pict i know, while sundown. than i also redrilled the hydraulic cylinder lever, to have an better adjustment and a better setup. i also still prepared a three point rail (can be seen on the left side of the pict) for adapting the Plow onto the beast. But my first goal is, to use the Plow with the Horse.

6 pointsThank you. We try. Its an aluminum fuel tank for a gt14. I cut it out and fit it. My son welds it together. It should hold just at 4 gallons. Little less than factory but hopefully will last a lot longer than the plastic one it came with. 👍

6 pointsSounds good! I’d like to drop a stovebolt into my C-10, but the 350 still purrs just fine for the time being.
-
5 pointsThanks Pete. With over 25 tractors, it’s not a need thing but rather a want thing! At least I feel like I’m not throwing my money away, but feel like I’m investing it. One thing about these little tractors is that they aren’t going to lose value like a lot of the other stuff we buy today.

4 pointsYou print this out in LARGE print. Show it to the "better half"... And tell her I said you're authorized to buy more horses. It won't work.......

4 pointsWhile looking for an instructional video on making a silicon gasket, I came across the cool vid. Did not know that hydrogen peroxide acted as a catalyst on silicon.

4 pointsOk, so a tough day today. Skip arrived and only just managed to get through the drive gates. Decided to hire a conveyor to load the skip rather than handball the concrete oversite into the skip. Used the demolition hammer to break up the concrete and then loaded up the skip. Sandra helped out again, distributing the rubble in the skip and generally being there to support me. It's now down to digging out the clay soil to a depth where I am comfortable to lay 3 inches of concrete to make a floor. I will lose the soil on our community project refilling our raised beds.

4 pointsHard to imagine life without a pickup truck, had my first one at 17 myself and now at 61 still feel like a kid when I turn the key on the 2500 HD.

3 pointsImplement clutches getting pretty worn so made up some new parts and put in some brass bushings, will put a couple grease fittings in pedal, have to get a # 1 drill for 1/4 - 28 tap. Also making a new pulley idler arm ass'y.

3 pointsBeen wrestling with my GTt-14 project. Engine has been overhauled .010 over .010 under crank. My Harbor freight spark plug tester that I have used for years would flash. But the engine wouldn't run right, popped while running and sometimes didn't want to start. Replaced the trigger, the coil, and finally the stator, different plugs and different plug wires. cleaned the carb a second time no improvement. All the components passed the tests in the manual, even would jump a spark from the wire to the plug at 1/16" not very powerful but there. Finally dug out my old Briggs and Stratton plug tester.. It didn't show any spark. Gave up and switched her over to battery points, saw spark in the tester. just did a trial run, she runs like a top. I have two other Breakerless tractors. one is on loan to my brother in NY the other is in winter storage they both run great. Can't wait to get it out and see if the other breakerless will jump the gap in the B&S tester.

3 pointsI am not a plow boy...indeed, do not undstand all the technical stuff you spoke of n did...but i like the looks of your results!😊 I think, maybe, i am starting an intrest into another aspect of this hobby😮 Which would mean...naturally, right?...a need for another Horse🤔 Uh-oh; Oh Lord...!

3 pointsThank you @WHX24 with the great pic's, I see that a new piece of steel will need to be cut. This tractor is starting to be a real fun project. I think that it was rolled off a truck at some point. The steering wheel had a good bend in it and the gas tank looked crooked from the front. What I first thought was just a dented front hood seems to be more. The center gas tank support looks like something real heavy dropped on it. Most metal work I have ever had to do to one of these. Call me crazy but I really enjoy the journey. I've cut, straightened an re welded quite a bit so far.

3 pointsI know it ain't cool but I sure like an 8 foot bed and just a regular cab. So nice to haul long things with the tailgate closed.
-
3 pointsNice find Mike .. real nice piece of farm history & shop wall art! Personally I would use it to hammer on the green thingy....
-
3 pointsSome other ones here Rod. Some had a notch where it engages the brake band some did not. Later sixties ones were step notched for different levels of pedal push and adjustment. I do have a 854 buried in the parts shed if you want to see what an orginal looks like.
-
3 pointsWell then we found out that when you raise the front that you can't see over it from the back. So we had to raise the back up. The put new plate on the front to attach the pan and gus sets to stiffen the uprights.

2 pointsImma quote you on that when the time comes, and i do appreciate expert opinions!😊 ...or is that epert Horse Sense?😉 ...wondering out loud...would a 1054 fit the bill? Maybe ill have to see...
-
2 pointsAgain I say: I can honestly justify one horse per implement and one implement per horse. Minimum. More needs? More implements? More tractors are clearly needed.

2 pointsWell, a few days ago we tried to load windows 10 on this old warrior. killed it deader than Hank [bless his cheatin' heart]. Exactly eleven dollars and eighty cents later, it is operating on a linux stick. Nothing on the hard drive here any more, and a internet that no one spies on you at all because they cannot see you. If this old girl will load some pictures, maybe you can see what i am up to.... The spinny hard drive is clear out of the thing. Just amazing it works I do have a new computer, also a dell to keep the wife happy. I call this one the box of hammers, because it is simple, tough ,and heavy. Just another example of how to turn a dime into a dollar. Sent from Dell Lattitude E 5500 ten years old and still kickin

2 pointsDESCRIPTION This "alligator" wrench (so-called because of its shape, like an "alligator's mouth") was used to turn iron and steel pipes and rods which could not be turned with a regular wrench. A pipefitter often used such a tool in fitting or removing air- and water-piping from a locomotive. This tool is part of a collection of hand tools used in the inspection and repair of steam locomotives in Salisbury, North Carolina from the early- to the mid-20th century, roughly 1900-1955. Light repairs on steam locomotives were usually done in roundhouses at the many small locomotive terminals-throughout a railroad’s system; heavy repairs were done in large, centralized repair shop serving the whole system (often referring to as the “Back Shop”).

2 pointsHave most of the dents tapped out, holes welded and patch welded in the bottom of the grill. Little bit of grinding and time to media blast it and little bit more body work.

2 pointsWelcome to the forum Here is a list of them in the order they were produced. Notice they went from 42" to 48" which is better suited to your tractor. 1968 model 6-4111 - First to fit LONG & SHORT frame tractors and first to mount under the rear axle - replaced by 1969 model [6-4112 + 6-9621] 1970-73 model [6-4113 + 6-9622] 1973-74 model [6-4113 + 6-9623] 1974 model [6-4114 + 6-9624] 1974 model 6-2131 1975 model 6-2132 1976 model 6-2133 1976 model 66-42BC01 1977 model 76-42BC01 1978 model 86-42BC01 1979 model 96-42BC01 1980 model 06-42BC01 1981-1984 model 06-42BC02 (Up to here including this one they are 42" wide) 1984-1989 model 06-48BC01 (They are now 48" wide) - replaced by the following 1990 model 06-48BC02 (Last blade to have 3 angle positions) 1991-1993 model 06-48BC03 (First blade to have 5 angle positions) 1993-2001 model 79350 - (105-1502 kit adapts 2001 and older GT Classic-Series blades to fit 2002 and later tractors 2002 2004-2009 2012 model 79364 - (105-1501 kit adapts 79364 blade to fit 2001 and older GT Classic-Series) Find an illustrated parts list (ipl) and it will show all the pieces required to attach it. Some parts seem to go missing when removed from the tractor. Garry

2 pointsI know! That was just a quick and easy drop on. From the old carb, there was nothing for a filter arrangement. I wanted to protect the new carb with something.
-
2 pointsTo I am myself recently got done rebuilding a 14 horse and made a mistake of putting a cheap Chinese fuel pump which drained gas into the crank case and did some damage. Since I have decided to go with an electric fuel pump. Instant starts every time. of course the original pumps are OK and work fine, but from now on I am sticking with electric .

2 pointsI never drove a 7 speed mack, but I did drive a 5 speed maxidine for quite some time, my first larger truck that I drove was a 1936 chevy duce and a half gas job. My uncle had upgraded it with a 2 speed rear, and us guys as young teenagers thought we were hot stuff with that baby.
