10 pointsHello, I’ve been away from the site for awhile and wanted to touch bases with y’all. I’m now a home owner and married so hasn't been my number one priority for a bit. That hasn’t stopped me from buying a few whenever I can and I’ve got some builds underway that should be neat summer projects. The find redsquare members may appreciate the most is the 417 I hauled home from Tennessee I’ve also picked up a 1990 416 and a later model 520. Between tractors, parts and potential builds I’ve got a lot I’m looking forward to sharing with y’all It’s great to be back

8 pointsGetting excited about new shoes for my 312-8. It's Carlisle snow hogs up front (18x6.50-8) and ITP mudlite 2's (25x10-12) for the back. I'll post pics once they're all mounted and installed. I don't think I'll have traction issues in mud and snow any longer.

7 pointsHey all! At the first local auto swap meet of the year close to me in Decatur, Tx, there is typically a little more than just automotive stuff, which I love! I pulled into my vendor spot this morning to see this DB parked in the spot next to mine. I've never seen one in person, and knew I had to have it. I tried not to buy it, and walked around and shopped for a few hours, but I came back to my truck and it was still there.. so it came home with me! Are there any DB guys on here? I know absolutely nothing about them. It has a non-original briggs on it that runs, but came with what is supposed to be the original Briggs. Not stuck or broken, just missing the sheet metal and a few other parts. It doesn't have a belt on it, so I need to figure out exactly what it is and find one. I believe it is a Suburban, but not sure what year. It's obviously been repainted, and they also painted over the data tag, so I hope I can remove it and still read what it says. The guy notched the grille to fit the air cleaner which sucks, but oh well. It looks cool and is well built. I'm assuming it is a single speed tractor? Do they even have reverse? I have no attachments and was hoping it had reverse. If it does, it should be a good tractor to move trailers around with! Also saw a couple of WH's for sale. One that was a C series parts tractor, and the other appears to be a 500 special per the white stripe on the hood. The hood was rusted through on top, and had what I assume is a CC K301 on it. Had the shallow pan on it and had spacers under it to mount it. The parts tractor was really a better tractor other than it was a geared tractor. Wanted $325 for the pair. I think I'll pass. I'll offer $50 for the pair late tomorrow. We'll see what happens!

7 pointsUpdate on Scottie: On January 31, 2020 Scottie was scheduled for a urethral graft surgery that would allow Scottie to urine properly like he did before the accident. His medical team included the current urology surgeon that has been on his case since day one and another surgeon from Texas who was helping via face-time on the internet. It was then determined after Scottie was in the operating room that the urethral graft was not going to be done at this time. The medical team then decided it would be best if the scar tissue was completely removed from the urethra in order for the chances of it not coming back full force. However, Scottie had to have an epidural to help with the pain after the procedure and the medical team had to complete this surgery with out the use of robotics like they used during his reconstruction surgery. During this procedure the medical team had to cut open his pubis bone ( which is located in the middle of his pelvis) and separate it in order to get the his urethra. Once they cut his pubis bone open, the medical team decided that they would cut out the area of the urethra that had all of the scar tissue and remove that from his urethra. Then they had to release more of the urethra from just underneath the bladder and then reattach the new clean ends of the urethra. He has another foley (penial catheter) in place to help with the healing of the urethra. During this procedure Scottie had some blood loss which required him to have 5 blood transfusions. He then woke up and could not see temporarily due to the swelling and amount of anesthesia he received. The swelling went down and he is able to see just fine. He was very anemic in the hospital but he has since rebounded very quickly and is no longer anemic. He was in the hospital until Monday February 3, 2020. He has been doing well, except for the pain that is associated with the type of surgery that he had done. His recovery time is about 12 weeks for his pelvis and on March 2, 2020 he has an appointment with the urologist and they may take out the foley (penial) catheter. Scott will then have to retrain his bladder and wait about four months to see if the scar tissue will form again. Lowell, Scott, and I are all praying that this is the last of Scottie's procedures and that he will be able to be himself again without the catheters. Scott is still doing home bound school and his teacher comes out to our house every week with homework for Scott to complete and to gather the completed stuff and return it to school. Scott is on a pass/fail program and he is able to stay up to date with his fellow classmates. Each day is a blessing from God and a miracle in and of itself. Lowell and I are very blessed by each and everyone of you and we are so lucky to have you all in our lives.

6 pointsGot done cleaning out the shop today organizing my tractor parts away from my wood projects. Burning off excess wood from the shop nice time to sit back with an adult beverage.Ahhhh!!!
-
6 pointsMore shop time. Welded in the DOM tubing into the arms. Broached some new key ways so I could put the wheels on. Welded in new crossbar finished up some of the subframe welding. Still need to gusset the subframe.
-
6 pointsOK folks, I dug up a few pictures of the 702 with the 4 turf tires on it. Older pictures, as it still has the 6 HP style muffler on it then. Enjoy. Bill

4 pointsI love a good outdoor fire, very mesmerizing to just sit back in my Adirondack chair and stare at. Also love it when there’s a piece of wicker furniture to “get rid of “ ...this was a wicker hamper that was starting to come apart

4 pointsPlumbing day today, moved those pesky heating pipes from across the doorway and tidied up the pipes feeding a radiator above the new door. I hate plumbing, but it saves a bit of cash if I do it myself. I will do a bit of tidying up down there later but that can wait till the door opening is cut, then I can shovel it straight into a skip. Mick

4 pointsI'm thinking a lot of us including me would be banned from sittin in the middle!

4 pointsTo bad it's not a Wheel Horse. A "Mobil Bus Stop" like that would get a lot of mileage at the Big Show
-
4 pointsSome pics of the 86 during a refurb. I painted the frame with POR-15, installed stainless steel fuel and brake lines from Classic tube in New York, 2 OEM GM Fuel tanks, senders and the list doesn't stop. Drove the truck around Maine without the bed for several years before paint and completion just needed the rear mud flaps to make it legal and temporary lights from the take offs from the 88 R-30 after the utility body was installed.
-
4 pointsI always had a crappy bench so I built this a few years ago. 8'-6" long 3ft deep top is 1/4 plate an 8ft truck tool box under it. The vise is mounted on a plate that slides into a 2" trailer hitch and behind on the wall is a piece of 16ga so sparks would catch the wall on fire. The metal top is great for tacking stuff to when welding.

3 pointsHi all, I picked-up a 72 (was told it was a 74) after doing some research on it, anyway I need some help on a picture/part # for the choke cable. I have a Charger 10 automatic with a Kohler K241-46636 Any help would be appreciated! I have never owned a Wheel Horse before so I am new to this! I traded a snowmobile trailer for it.... It did not run, but did come with extra parts like: carb, ign. switch, starter, coil, front rims and tires, rear fender and a weight box. No mower deck but does have a plow. I seem to think I got the better end of the deal!
-
3 pointsIf you have a roof rack I'm sure @pullstart will give you some loading tips.
-
3 pointsTruck and trailer Jim... but if you bring your wife's car we know these guys that can take a tractor apart and this other guy who knows how to load parts.....
-
3 pointsI just wanted to share these. I was going thru pictures on a camera card and found these I took about 3 years ago. The 702 was my father in-laws, It was my first of my round hoods - it has been in my wife's family since 1965. I picked up the 854 about 8 or so years ago with a stuck intake valve and a bad 4 speed. It now runs great and has the 8 speed Unidrive from a 1979 C81. Bill

3 pointsBy looking at those pics I would not think that tractor has anywhere close to that amount of hours on it. They do use some fuel those Twin Kohlers but out of all the vehicles I have had in the past 44 years I have never got more than 13 MPG so I'm not complaining.
-
3 points@JCM that’s a nice looking 417 you’ve got there, they seem to be hard to find bout anywhere. The hour meter shows more use then the tractor in my opinion, If I were to guess I’d say the key was left on and ran up the hours The low hour 520 I bought years ago was at 347 hours and was just starting to show wear, there’s not a bit of slop in the steering, motion control or brake pedal so I believe it’s low but we’ll never know for sure.
-
3 points@Bert NICE Looks like a 1985, how many hours. Tough to find in that condition in our neck of the woods. Great to see someone gave it the love it deserves. Good luck with it. Included a picture of a family member for you.
-
3 pointsHere is a 1972 Raider 10...yours should be the same. You can see the choke handle in this picture. Contact A-Z Tractors...one of our vendors in the vendor section. He should be able to help with the choke cable and more. Welcome to Red Square
-
3 pointsHere is 2 David Bradleys. These belong to Ron (not sure of last name), he collects old stuff that is different. I want to say he is from Wisconsin, but we would see him at the LaSueur show in Minnesota. Jason might remember his last name...he may have some parts.

3 pointsMore shop time today, made a dummy plug for the hole saw to bore out the 1/2" pin holes in the arms. Drilled top holes on posts to accept thd 1" pins. Cut crossbar to lenght and made the bottom plates.
-
2 pointsWell I got home around 4 today and it was nice out here so I decided to fire up the saw again. It stared after about 5 pulls, seemed to be running really well. I went through the snow to a little wood pile I have from when I had a little fireplace on the patio. Picked out a log about 5 inches in diameter. Wood has been sitting out there for about 5 yrs now, brought the saw over and that thing cut through it like it wasnt even there. I was surprised. Guess I will leave that chain on there for now but I will still get that file set and case for it. Also a friend of mines son wants the shot gun. Told him 125. I am happy to get rid of it..
-
2 pointsFinish the electrical last night charging system works, I need to put a choke cable on yet. First start today choke and two revolution of the starter ang running. After it is warm just bump the starter and running. I think I will make an exhaust bracket yet. I have calcium from one rear tire left from the old ones, I need to fill all of my tires yet and put on my wheel weights. Will need to get it done won't be to long till I meet to get the new garden going.
-
2 pointsMany of my pics were also in a box, starting to get them all in albums and some under that Muscle Car heading were not scanned but here on RS we all like our pics when you have time we would enjoy them for sure. Also check out Vintage Trucks and Non- Vintage Trucks.
-
2 pointsAny pics would be in a box and be a phone pic of an old pic so quality would be so so. But yeah I’ve got pictures I could dig out some time.
-
2 pointsAs often as I use this one it’s getting about 6 gallons per year Now the olds cutlass I sold awhile back would drink that in about 36 miles, that was a wicked ride
-
2 pointsI take I84 all the way across Ct into PA, then 81 south or west. The Newburgh Bridge is a way better way to get to the other side of the Hudson River than the Mario Cuomo/Tappan -Zee bridge. You could grab I84 right off the Mass Pike. Can’t help ya on what to drive, I always have a trailer, never know what might catch my eye. Or I might win the Saturday raffle tractor !
-
2 pointsI would think when that K582 project is completed and you fill it up and take it down to that fillin station where you topped my truck off after the Ferguson mission and then drive it on the road back to your house it will probably be running on fumes as they say. Ayyah.

2 pointsI sure think i did get the better deal! lol though it has no spark and didn't run.... not a problem for me! I need to get a few more things for it yet.... air filter, fuel filter, new plug, drive belt and choke cable.
-
2 pointsAlso I believe it was mentioned the screws that hold the butterfly need the backs ground off before attempting to take out the screws.
-
2 pointsthat's the color scheme, they made them for 3 years. we will get you all set up to get that machine going again. mine was in worse shape than that one. it's going to take some diagrams and explaining to fully understand the drive mechanism. I am sure your clutch is froze, get some pb blaster ready. welcome to owning a tractor with no neutral. they don't roll, the one front wheel has a reverse thread bolt fyi. too bad the original rims are missing.
-
2 pointsActually I do have a set of benders from 1/4'' to 3/4'' but those lines were a complete kit, some of them I had to ship to NY for them to replicate, I figured that being stainless steel better left to the pros. I did pay a premium for those if I remember correctly. I actually like shortbeds myself but wanted to use a truck camper so I went with the 8' bed.
-
2 pointsAwesome Jim... why do I get the notion those SS lines have some very custom bends! Never was a long box fan but that one might turn me!
-
2 pointsBought had a heart attack here.. Wisconsin and in the same sentence = Senior. Good luck with your tractor Red.
-
2 pointsThanks. I'll have to dig into it and see how much of it may be wheel horse or other. I picked it up dirt cheap so it's no big deal. Only makes finding parts more interesting.
-
2 pointsexactly, I offered $45, he accepted, I had $50 and he only had $2 in his pocket. i was ok with that! :)
-
2 pointsLoosen the jam nut (blue pointer ) 1-1/8" then you will see the end of the threaded shaft (yellow pint) has four flat surfaces. use a 5/8" wrench to tighten it. When you have desired resistance on the motion control lever tighten the jam nut.
-
2 pointsYup .. just show up and pay the camping fees and pick a spot. It's first come first serve on the spots but there is plenty. They don't take reservations. Guys that have been going there for years have squatters rights on some choice spots but that's understandable. They do have showers available. Be advised you cannot get in the gate and set up before Thursday 9 AM 6/25/2020. Here is a for more info ... https://wheelhorseclub.com/

2 pointsTook advantage of my last oddball holiday for the school year and replace the throttle cable on HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!!

1 pointHey Dells...stuff a cork in it! That empty shifter hole that is... you know dang well you is gonna drop a nut or a bolt down there. I don't wanna hear you cussing from here!
