Since I moved into my house a few years ago, I knew I wanted to build a shed to store firewood as my new house had a really nice wood stove. I figured do some work in the summer, store up the wood and help keep the oil bills lower in the winter. This year I finally got around to building said shed, and the job was made significantly smoother by my tractor. From clearing out vines, and leveling the land, to shuttling materials it saved me time and energy. Step 1.) Clearing out. The area I wanted to put it is tucked back in the woods on the right side of my first picture. I had a hard time finding many photos from before I cleared out the area, coincidentally I found one from a year or two ago that just happened to have my tractor in frame. One of my biggest problems was going to be dragging the wild grape vines out of trees surrounding the area. They have over time been choking out the other trees, and don't add much to the view so they had to go. The Wheel Horse was helpful pulling some of the smaller clusters out, but some of the big nets had to ripped out by the truck, eventually though, they all came free, and the trees are much happier for it. Finally after pulling vines, and pushing dirt I had a clearing to finally start the build. Step 2. Planning and Materials. I found a design I liked online that was close to what I was looking for, tweaked it a little to better suit my needs, and then got my materials ready. Step 3, Building. Now came the fun part, taking those designs, and materials, and making something out of them. With the help of a buddy of mine we got the whole thing done in two days. Step 4, Sit back and Enjoy the completed work. It was hard work, but very rewarding in the end. This shed will help keep around 3 cords of firewood dry and ready for the winter. Step 5, Fill it. Finally comes my last favorite part of the whole project. Filling the wood shed. I finished this build about 3-4 months ago and since then we've had high winds, rain, snow, and more wacky weather that mother nature has thrown at it, but it stands tall. Really proud of how the project turned out, and extremely grateful that my grandparents old C-175 was there to help me along the way.

Let the learning begin as I have a lot to learn about this horse and it's components like the sundstrands. Rear tires are the original wheel horse with many cracks but still holding air at this point. Seems to run well and move well, wanted to get the tranny and all warmed up really good but at 25 degrees outside that did not happen. Hub caps in real good condition as well as the seat, so I have much good out of it so far. First to be done is all fluids changed after learning how to properly drain the tranny and I assume will need bleeding at refill or maybe not. Any way another horse in the herd hi hi.

YES!!!!!!!!!! Way to go @JCM not sure why I didn’t start a thread like this a few years back but I’ll gladly participate. These are a few that are currently in our family... My ‘69 GTO that most on here are familiar with. Dad’s ‘67 GTO. Both of these cars we restored as father/son projects years ago. My Cousins 1980 Bandit T/A with 454 BBC and Tremec TKO600 I’ll add some of the cars that we’ve let slip through our fingers later on when I have time to dig out the pics... can’t wait to see what the other guys post...

I brought this little guy home because he looked alittle sad sitting where he was. It is a big project for sure. Isn't that where all the fun is thou?

Hello all! Long time no chat. Finally able to get out and do something even though it's not planting or mowing season. This project had to come home with me. Better yet, I hauled it and the wife to be claimed it. Does run but needs carb. And the blue oval seat must go per her request! 😆. Good to be back!

@Mickwhitt Don't think that your feelings are isolated to England. The same happens in many other countries i know including my own. In general, here in the States everyone is positive and supportive. It is evident everywhere in all aspects of life down to the simplest of conversations. One is always presented and treated with the most supportive and positive attitude, and I can tell you from personal experience that it is a feeling that is priceless. Where I am from and other places, the total opposite. Negativity, criticism, and sarcasm just to name a few are the norm. Perhaps besides it being called the land of opportunity that is one of the reasons why everyone flocks here. Many abroad that have never been here or dealt with Americans on a regular basis, not only do not know it, but don't understand it. That is why although I love and am proud of my heritage, this is the place I call home and where my heart is, and everyday I thank the Lord for the day I first stepped in this blessed Land.

I built this '48 Ford F1 street rod in 1987 and have put a little over 100,000 miles on it since, still going strong.

Thinking this may be a topic that a lot of us can relate to. I myself had a few friends that had both but myself only cars. I have a few pics here of the 70 Chevelle SS installing the 402/ 396 back into where it belongs. The 2 friends that are looking at the engine are 2 very good friends, the one on the left at that time owned an original 1971 Nova SS 350 4 speed 3.73 rear that I found for him in a local add from the original owner and the other friend has a 1967 Chevelle SS with a 427 Aluminum head engine 4 speed 4.88 rear. Unfortunately both are no longer with us and the 67 still sits in his garage with no future. I think of them every day and remember the fun we had with all 3 cars lined up. I have pics of both just need to locate them . My brother in law is the one to the far right and the one bent over taking care of the engine mount bolts and has owned my baby since 1999. Enjoy.

Love the look of new wood...nice shed. If I may make one suggestion, I would stack the end of each of your rows a little different. If you cris-cross your wood on the ends, it will help the stack stand more on it's own...instead of pushing on your new lumber after the wood starts to settle. Your side walls will thank you.

This could be an interesting thread. First and foremost I want to give credit to the MODERATORS OF REDSQUARE for keeping this particular website positive and for the most part conflict-free. I believe a lot of the way things are percepted in general is governed by one's own attitude. The vast majority of the crowd here are positive people in general mindset and that's why we come here repeatedly after we find the place. Here in America there are plenty of places where the general mindset is negative or even confrontational. I won't bother to give examples because there are so many I could go on for days. That said, I could also go on for days about the positive examples that I see and experience every day. One thing I have noticed over the years. Possibly my own perception and completely wrong. I have noticed that the more people in a given square mile, the more negative the attitude seems to be, at least here in the Northeast. There are plenty of places where cities and towns are considered to be friendly and I have great experiences there. But it seems as though negativity attracts to negativity. I have only had very limited exposure to true born and bread British folk over the years but I can't honestly say I found them to be negative or upset or cranky or anything close to that. I'll be looking forward to seeing what other people say.

That would be a 1970 Electro 12.. If original, it has the 5062 gearbox which has the 10-pinion Limited Slip Differential. The Sundstrand power is model 90-2046. Your tractor is, essentially, same as my 72 Bronco 14 which also has hyd lift...love it. The fluid drain plug is on bottom of the gearbox...a socket head plug, probably filled with dirt. These Sundstrands are HYPER-SENSITIVE to dirt and debris in the fluid so wipe everything clean in the area BEFORE changing filter and/or fluid(ATF=pink..or brownish is 10w30 oil) . The oil filter is part # 5990 and I highly recommend using OEM filter on this...about $14 bux on-line. OEM parts here.. https://www.psep1.biz/arinet.asp?aribrand=TO# Just enter your model # 1-7255 and clik thru the schematics. CAUTION... Don't pull up on the trans engagement lever (Parking Brake) when in motion. Come to a COMPLETE STOP first. If you pull the lever up while in motion, the internal Parking Pawl gets ground up and metal shavings contaminate the fluid, which ruins soft brass internal parts...causes loss in hydro pressure. PS... If ever it comes to needing a rebuild of the 90-2046 power unit, I can provide some home-grown how-to's with a short narrative.

I free handed a pin stripe around the rear rims and swapped out yet another rear end. I'm getting pretty good at that if I do say so myself

One of the head light lenses on my favorite show cruiser was broken so I thought that I would change it out. The ones that were on it were 50w halogens. With out a charging system on this tractor I could only get about 3 to 4hrs out of the battery that I have to run the lights. I found replacements of the same out put but in LED's, this dropped the draw wattage down to 6.6w per bulb. I should be able to get a lot more run time out of the battery with these. For being an LED light, the lens does not look too bad either.

Seems there were a couple rascals and their dad from MI too @stevasaurus @IthacaJeff it seems we did a total of 17-20 acres in a day? I imagine if the soil conditions are right, you could knock it out in a long weekend... but hosting an event would likely get you plowed in no time!

It's not necessarily just a negative mindset, when you ask for help or advice some of the responses are so condescending or downright rude. Theres just very little encouraging comment and you're usually made to feel like a chump. And heaven help if you try to be humourous in your posts. I know we are supposed to be straight laced but come on! Lighten up. It's a hobby and its supposed to be fun. My most memorable moment is the awe and respect I felt when standing under one of the Saturn 5 Apollo rockets at Cape Kennedy. A nation that created such a machine in such a short time and pre the computing power we have these days blew me away. God bless America Mick

Eh... wrong color... Proven fact: red has better drag coefficient at top plowing speeds and better wind speed countermeasures while under power... Saw it on the inter web...

So I've been soaking the steering wheel for the past two weeks and pounding on it and pounding on it with no progress. So today I started to get a little more aggressive and drill several holes in the end of the shaft and ended up cutting the shaft on the other end ! I saved the wheel!! The steering wheel shaft is only an inch and a half shorter but I can weld a new piece on the end of it.

Woah woah woah. I really like those tires! Your figures make sense and I appreciate the eye opener once in a while. The rest of the time, ignorance is bliss. Odds are, I’ll work with what I can around here to make something from a bunch of nothings. I just enjoy tinkering out there and once in a while letting the fruits of my creativity make a little money. Here are some examples of the random jobs that come into my shop, because of word of mouth and talking about these tractors:

A little more work done over the weekend. I had started to disassemble a transmission to put the axles and seals in then decided to change to another one. I remembered that the other has bad axle keyways and I'm swapping out the axles... So why use a transmission that's still good... Maybe Wednesday or Thursday I'll get to that... Trina disassembled and cleaned the front axle and spindles. Then painted the axle. Also.. the first RED paint was sprayed!! The rear fenders have their first coat. This is Rust-Oleum Apple Red Gloss. @Stormin She wants you to know that she has more than one pair of socks.

I'm not getting involved with weather er not Cindy is coming along . I done know's better than to get involved in that. I just got the blessing from Gretel for me to go, so I'm in. As long as there is room for one of my tractors, I'll ride in the glove compartment if I have to.. If we take the toy hauler, we can always fill the bedroom and bathroom up with parts for the trip back home. Heck we could probably get 3 disassembled tractors on the bed alone.

Some front wheels. Maybe an engine. Easy fix. 15-20 minutes max. Do you have any specific formula or plans for this rig?

Wouldn't the truck be in motion when you "let off"? Considering the added weight this unit will have and your safety needs for the girls you might want to think about a pair of D axles with turning brakes. The wider axles will provide more stability and the turning brakes would provide good mechanical stopping power.

Guess this should go here......been waiting on snow here on Cape Cod and so far so good NO SNOW !!!! Went out last week to make sure the Snow Horse (B80) would start if it ever does snow and it took forever to get fuel up to the carb. Ordered a new fuel pump diaphram but it really didn't help much..... so after searching here and Google I ordered an electric fuel pump just to try it out and see what happened. Ordered a a ten dollar pump thinking I can always upgrade if it all works. So a little wiring, a toggle switch and a fuel pump mounted up front.... turned on the pump, hit the starter and vroom...instant start. I yard drove it for a half hour continually stopping and restarting..... works like a charm no more waiting for fuel to hit the carb bowl with what always seemed like endless cranking. I'll try this for a storm or two and then either order a spare cheap pump or go for a better pump . Please excuse the mess in the shop, hopefully that is better by spring too . Mike B

I swapped a 42" blade for a 54"er Yesterday and put it on the 520. Thanks Jessie. We'll see if this wide body can make the P220 grunt. I may have to add another set of springs to keep the blade from tripping. Yep, I'm one of the old wimpy and smart guys that even needs a warm cab on his plow tractor.

@Achto and @WHX24 are both correct. I bought a set of the Jeep cables for my 701. They look great, but don’t lock. I use a short piece of fuel line that I split to hold the throttle open when I need it.

This year my wife's birthday comes a couple days prior to the Big Show so I won't have to feel guilty about being several hundred miles away. Never stopped me from going, but I can do it with a clear conscience this year. Booked my room at the Best Western back in August. Truck is running great and I'm ready to pack up and go. See you there.

Without question, the mods deserve all the credit for making this site so positive. Trust me, all US sites are not this way. As far as the general attitude of residents of different countries, I have worked in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Canada, USA, Wales, and Slovenia. With the exception of one country, I always felt welcome. I will not disclose the country that seemed to have a negative attitude, but it was not the UK.
