7 pointsGot this wagon awhile back for next to nothing. Finally got time to give it allitle attention. Most of it was pretty solid with the exception of some rot at the back. l carefully cut the angle frame off and moved it forward about two or three inches. Welded it back on and now all l have to do is put some shoes and a little paint on er and shes ready to use. Not a beautiful fix but a functional one

7 pointsA few pictures of the Kwik-Way loader mounted on the 417-8 doing some light work, also had this on a 1993 520-H and hopefully can locate those and add them at a later date. Loader was sold in Oct 2018 to a RS member.

7 pointsFriday afternoon we got Hot Wheels and Jane out to do some yard cleanup from construction projects. You know... the kind that make mowing one more step?? We never use that door, but built an approach anyway... after 20 something years of it not having one. That turned into play time. Then Rylee wanted me to drive crazy on Jane and she wanted to chase me / drag behind the trailer. I figure if she falls, she is behind the rotating mass of everything so let her be a happy kid. Note too, we were air lassoing on our horses!

7 pointsWell it was a balmy 60 something degrees this past Friday, so I took some time to clean up the shed a bit and lookie what I found hiding in the back corner! The little 876 fired right up! Gotta get some different front wheels and a squonk special plug wire next year at the big show! Might actually bring this one to ride around!

6 pointsGot out today and did some yardwork with my semi restored trailer. Had to clean a few limbs here and there and good thing I have weight and ags on the back with 100 lbs.I really could use some front weight tho . We have had 5 plus Inches of rain in the past week. I also walked up into the woods to check out my wet weather spring on the hillside. Nice flow coming down. Had to walk up a steep hill to get to it. By the way can you see the horse and wagon I'm 80 feet away!!

5 pointsSince i picked up this 518XI decided to mount up the Ark loader. Wasn't wide enough so here we go.

5 pointsWell, I decided to begin working on the D169 I bought from @stratostar250 at the big show a couple of years ago. Since the D series are the featured tractors at this year’s show, I figured no better time. Emory has asked me to do a military version and I figure as long as I don’t alter the basic original structure, no harm no foul. Right now, I’m thinking something along the lines of a Korean or Vietnam era Jeep. I had bought a nice original style set of decals from @Vinylguy last year at the show, but now I might need to go with a military look. Terry, @Vinylguy, do you have any ideas on how to militarize the decals? The only idea I’m pretty sure of is a star on the hood. When I fired it up yesterday, the right muffler literally fell off! I did find a nice set of 8”x4” mufflers with 1” pipe fittings on eBay. Started it today to get it off of the trailer as I have to go get some wood for some projects for the wife and a girl I work with. Man did it sound mean! That Onan starts and runs great! I guess that’s all for now - stay tuned! Short video of it running!

5 pointsA little over 600lbs of steel, 15lbs of 6013 welding rod, a huge, HUGE, HUGE, THANK YOU to Jim @WHX24 for his help today and the metal work is finally done on my new trailer. Here is the best pic that I could get from the back. Jim pointed out the drawer for the ramps. I don't like ramp gates on a trailer, most feel like pulling a parachute down the road to me. So when I built the orange trailer 15yrs a go I made a drawer to hold the ramps under the trailer. I was able to salvage this drawer from the old trailer and install it on the new trailer. When I made it the last time the door was made from what ever I had laying around and it was effective but not real pretty. This time I made the door out of new metal for better ascetics. After Jim left I also added some tie downs, can't have too many of those . I discussed adding a head ache bar to the front or as Jim called it a Horse stopper. After a very short discussion we both decided it would be a good idea. So we dug around to find some pipe and then while I was burning some metal together Jim set to work prepping the parts to make it. I think it turned out great and it is a good safety feature. This pic also shows the hitch set up. Nothing left to do now but throw some paint at it, do some wiring, and put the deck on. Unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow so progress will come to a halt until next weekend . I will post more pics when there is some thing to show.

5 pointsPicked up this 552 project yesterday. I got a battery for it and it runs. Next step is some tires. I pulled the wheels and dismounted the tires. I’ll be taking the wheels and hubs in for powder coating tomorrow and replacing the axle seals while it’s apart. Once I get it functional I’ll start fixing it up more.

5 pointsWe all knew that a long time ago there Jimbo! Look at the bunch I hang out with - ‘specially them mafia guys!

4 pointsSo he asked and I helped....and enjoyed it. Back in the day when I worked in shipyards welders didn't do any grinding. Not allowed by union rules so every welder had to have a sidekick who did the grinding ... guess what I was today! Had a productive day tho and got her up on axle. Looking to be a very nice horse hauler! Didn't get a pic of the "horse stopper" on the front Dan sorry. ..any body wants to get him something for his birthday, Xmas , father's day .. a welders apron would be appropriate. .. more than once a caught him to be a flaming... The orangish racks in the back are a nifty slide storage for loading ramps that was repurposed off the old trailer with a hinged door to trap then in during transit. The ramps hook in the back channel for moving wher needed. Tractors will be easily be able to be loaded.

4 pointsPop off that red WH plastic cap and your find either a 9/16’s bolt head or a pin holding the rim onto the spindle.

4 pointsI took a couple of days to play with the 857 between other projects. I had been seeing where some of the rat rod guys were coating their rides with a mixture of boiled linseed oil and a little mineral spirits. Decided I give it a try. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out - but, one word of caution, don’t do this if you think you might want to paint down the road. I cleaned up the muffler and wheels and gave them a quick paint. I had to use Miller’s tire paint on the tires because someone else had decided there was no need to worry if they got red paint on the wheels (had to be from another tractor as they are narrow and the tractor is 100% original paint.). Pretty pleased with the look. I’ll update as time goes to see how long before I have to oil again.

4 pointsIt’s gonna happen...... just don’t know when. We’ll have 7 acres to play on

4 pointsToday I finished fabricating the front pulley. I took a 3/4 GR8 bolt added a 4.5" pulley, drilled a hole for shear pin through one of the allen key holes. Then I drilled a hole in the center using as a guide a set of bushings to 1/4" for a pilot hole then when bigger and tapped to 3/8 fine. Then took a 3/8 GR8 bolt and tapped 2.5" and then inserted into the 3/4" bolt (added blue locktite) and cut the head off.

4 pointsI’m in. Been thinking along the same lines for the diesel GT Xi project. OD green, Flat black and flat, off white lettering. Brian @Super-C 4 me had been talking about doing a Military tractor also. I see a trend happening.
-
4 pointsActually, you could run the exhaust into it, add to the chimney vent, and you would have an outstanding resonance chamber with the added bonus of being a "rear end" heater for long snow plowing events... I bet it would sound cool, be toasty warm, and add weight!!!
-
3 pointsIt’s mainly going to have pavement duty, so I’m going with turf tires. Summit Racing seems to have the best deal on them so far, but I’m going to shop a little more before I buy. I’ve probably got a week or two before I get the wheels back.
-
3 points@Razorback I am not sure if you tried to post pictures, they didn’t come through for me. The cable lift has kept me weary, but at Jim’s plow day we use a lot of cable, a lot of lifts out of the sod all day and don’t seem to have (too many) failures. The ones that break were probably original or just old. @wheelhorseman Lowell makes a fine stronger than stock quality lift cable and I’d endorse it for sure!

3 pointsIf it is the c-clip version, you’ll find it hiding under a decent pile of grease on the end of the axle, most likely.

3 pointsOh, cool ! 🤪🤔 Weld a few Steelrods together, so that the stove will stand upright after attaching. So you are able to remove it simply like a mounting hitch. A bit more far in the Rear, and one ellbow for the exhaust, so if it‘s to cold outside you can simply fire it up. if it was to danger to use inside because of impermeability, it shall outside no problem. it only must preventing loosing some fire material, than you‘re good to go. 😎 Than you have a real rugged redneck seat heater, and back warmer as long as you plow, what a Luxory Gentlemen... 😂😂😂😂 If you preheat early enough, you have a clean an warm Plowride at beginning.

3 pointsYup, I’m leaning toward olive green. I think it will be different enough to stand out a little. Here’s a pic of the mufflers I got. Got them for $112 shipped for the pair. Figured that’s not too bad for something so close to original.

3 points@WHX24 I'm just thankful that she is into them also...she's been searching for parts for it and actually....she mentioned the big show this year before I did!

2 pointsWe had a beautiful day here .....so..... after church I got the Wheel Horse C160 and a Brinly plough out of the shed and turned over some furrows in my garden spot. This was the first time I have used the C160 for this since I got it 15 months ago. It did quite well, although my Speedex 1630 is still my favorite for this job. My only “complaint” about my C160 is the cable lift for the rear attachments..... just not a huge fan. Glad to finally get that done! Also used the WH aerator on the back yard while I was at it. Just about ran out of daylight before I got everything put back in the shed.

2 pointsI'd love to find a RJ, Suburban, or Lawn Ranger for my boy. I think he'd flip his lid, and then maybe I'd be able to get him to spend some time working with me. He always tells me he wants to, but unless it is his project he won't actually do it, and I don't have anything to make into a project for him right now.

2 pointsHere’s another one for you Dells. I think I posted it before but I kept it because it’s so cool looking.

2 pointsLane, I have a three piece transmission missing most the internals, if not all of them. Might you have a spare complete set of insides? If not, I have some extra 2 piece transmissions and might bother you for more details of that adapter plate!

2 points@19richie66, to me these big ole tractors are the perfect candidates. It would be awesome if we could all get ours done and take them up to the big show! Who knows, we might start something.
-
2 pointsI've re-engineered my idea. See new instructional illustration below. "Hypothetical stove weight box" in red. Bungy cords indicated in blue.

2 pointsI finally, for the first time since I owned it, got the correct starter belt on the 855. Then I had to charge the battery up before it would start, so my dad and I took the kids to a train exhibit for an hour while the charger did it's bit. When I got back it fired right off, and I was able to get the plow up and roll it around the garage so get the chains on. I still need to get a case of RV antifreeze and fill the tires, and try to build some sort of weight holding rig for the rear. I have an old cast iron wood stove sitting in my scrap pile that should make for good ballast if I can just figure out how to attach it.
-
2 pointsNow on a show car...this would get wet sanded with 2000 grit, buffed with a cutting compound, followed by polishing compounds then wax. For a mower that will get weekly use...it'll do.
