I’ve been around, mostly lurking as a lot has been going on. There have been a couple of incidents with former students that have left a lot on my mind. One little girl moved away a couple of years ago. I had had her in 2nd grade. She was 12 years old this year. About 3 weeks ago she passed away. I don’t know for sure, but I heard a rumor that she committed suicide. That has left me wondering what in the world could be so bad as to drive a young person to such extremes? I don’t have an answer, but this is too quickly becoming a reality for many children. We need to work harder to help identify these struggles with our young children and make sure they get the help they need to deal with their issues. So sad to see my little friend gone so early! Another student, also 12, was just diagnosed with cancer about 6 weeks ago. She also is a very sweet, kind, caring young lady. I promised her that if she had any issues with hair loss that I would shave my head until she could regrow her hair. Well, the little thing woke up to find some of her hair on her pillow. I went straight home and peeled my head. While I know that isn’t much help, I want her to know how much I love her and support her every step of the way. If nothing else, she can laugh at my ugly bald head. Either way, please keep both families in your prayers as they deal with things children should never have to experience! I’m sure Kierra would love your support as she fights a tough battle. Here’s a pic of me and one with my friend Joe for your comic relief!

Earlier this week we had our first measurable snow just south of Cleveland. I was out of town for two days, so wasn’t able to get to it until it had turned into three inches of slush. The new plow and my SK-486 pushed through it like a hot knife through butter. This is the first time I’ve ever pushed snow (always used a walk-behind blower in the past). This is fun and easy! I see a lot of seat time ahead of me this winter. Thanks to everyone whose advice helped me construct the plow.

A few more pics in better lighting (read: daylight, lol) the owner sent me from when it was listed for sale, just because... ETA of General now this Sun. Busy schedules and such, which i certainly understand... Guess it gives me time to find a knob/figure out that funky looking hydraulic lift lever, that i see again👍🤣 Hope every1 has a good day...

You know it's a cruel world we live in sometimes Dells. I hate watching the evening news because of the bad stuff we see going on out here but I force myself to do so for a wake up call. Most times I just wonder why people can't just go to vintage tractor shows or one of Ed Kennels tree stands and every thing will be good. Works for me anyway. All I can offer is count your blessings at home, pray for others and deal with things one day at a time. Keep your head high and your beliefs and heart strong. On a more humorous side note if things get real stressfull we'll round up a posse to come get your horses and keep them safe! Laughter is a always a good medicine.

Hey Dell , I cannot tell you about the way I feel as my daughter has gone through this in her adolescence. We had her twice at Vanderbilt because of her thoughts of committing suicide as well. It is a very trying time In our lives to have to deal with this. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and all involved. God bless us all!!

Dell, we tend to forget how well our lives are going until tragic news like this comes our way. Both families need our prayers.

Please share with Kierra that a few of your friends from Michigan are thinking of her and will have her in our prayers Dell. I know there is no good time of year to hear either news, but it seems like Christmas and the holiday season is so hard to hear of this! Max was being taken care of by St. Baldricks, following Max’s struggle was horrific. Max passed away on Thanksgiving, his father Tom about a year or so later. RedSquare will always have a gold ribbon in support to those suffering with Childhood Cancer, it’s the most horrific thing a family can go through.

I just realized that Rylee won this shirt at the raffle at Scott’s meet and greet. I’ve never looked into the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. I’m a freggin’ mess right now. I am so sad for that little boy and wish I could have been there to give him one more smile. I asked Rylee to wear the shirt tonight and keep little Max in her heart for me.

Thanks guys. I’m no better or worse than any other, I just have very close ties to both girls. When we had our fall festival last month, little Kierra was looking for me. When I found her, she hugged me and just smiled. She is a trooper and has a peace that only God can give her. She is truly a special girl. When I told her I would shave my head with her, she said she told her dad she knew I would - how could I not knowing she feels so close to me? Her sister who is 14 is wonderful as well. She had a stroke prior to birth just like Emory with her left side effected. Our families have gotten closer as a result. Both will forever hold a spot in my heart and if a little lack of hair can help Kierra know she’s not alone, shaving my head is the least I can do. The power of prayer is powerful, so please send lots her way!

Pretty new here, as has been the case with a few... This has been a tremendous help to my husband and I. Not only is there good information on Wheel Horse here but as I’ve stated before my husband and I have met some wonderful people. I have found this place isn’t just about the red tractors but it’s about family, friendship and looking out for one another the way the world should be just a shout out to everyone that makes this place as wonderful place to come and get support in any form... Happy Belated anniversary Red Square!!!!!

A couple things I learned once I hit 30. A good friend told me you can never trust a fart. I’ve been told all my life to lift with my legs, not my back. I’ll ad to that... accept help lifting when it’s offered. I’ve put 8’ snow plows into the back of a truck myself. I feel the things I have lifted quite often. Get well soon.

I never knew of Max until today. I read through all of the threads I could find on the subject as well. Extremely sad situation. The first thread on him didn't give any conclusion to what the ultimate outcome was. As I was searching, I was obviously hoping that he made it and became a member here. My heart sank when I read that he had passed. Extremely sad that his father also died a few years after. Multiple times a day.

Seriously I had a horse bound for the scrapper in '15 then by some act of God I found this place.... well may have helped a bit. Since then I have bought and sold over 40 tractors, a 6.5k enclosed trailer to move them, a 22k camper toy hauler, a 65K truck to pull the hauler, started the tractor show circuit and met dozens of great people and made many friends even tho I have to continue to pay them to be my friends. Then ther is the plow day that cost over 500 to put on .... Would I do it again? ...You bet! 'Sides keeps me out of the tavern! Special thanks to 953nut for putting together that really cool collage. Might have to talk with @Vinylguy about a banner? Only being here for a few years I can say I know most of the faces in that collage. Sure are some good memories ther Richard ! More special thanks to Karl for having us and his henchmen for keeping us in line. Only thing that saddens me is, and in reading older threads, is the talent (members) that has come and gone and our RIP brothers. This tread is lacking in ther than Jack's so here's the one that was once loaded for scrap... to Dan @Achto for snapping that one! Happy anniversary Red Square!

OMG...you want some laughs and shin-ad-a-gans. Karl would go camping with the family for the weekend, and all hell would break loose on the site. All in fun of course...but Karl would get an E-Mail, or what ever Karl gets, and he would be VERY UPSET that his weekend got interrupted. Well, one weekend, he had had enough and banned a bunch of us for a week. It was all JimD's fault, and I just got caught up in the cleansing. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Because of no Snow, i can improve the small Cabin a bit. Than i changed the Windshield glass to a Material named makrolon, what is nearly unbreakable, UV stable and scratch resistant. not it ain’t cheap, but it looks much better and the viw is brilliant. Also a Wiper is now on, but just „handmoved“ but i‘m ok with that. While my horse has a Hydraulic system, i thinkin for the movement of the Snowshovel, at least i thinkin of moving the Plowshield and had an simple solution for BFDF9AE7-535A-42E6-BA05-203A31867276.MOV While there is in Winteruse no longer a shovel on the small FEL, i can steal the tilt cylinder and reuse it for the Shovel tilt. yap, time for some Snow....

My "awakening" to real life was at 42 so you're 12 years ahead of me. Up until 3 or 4 years ago I rarely asked for or even accepted help. I've always been the big guy. When lifting and moving heavy things, Either "It moves or I get hurt"... I won most of the time. I try to be smarter nowadays.

Happy 13th anniversary to RedSquare. It's hard to believe that I've been here a little over 3.5 years now. When I first found the site I had just been given my 1277, and stumbled across this place while Google searching for info on the tractor I had just acquired. Wheel Horse tractors are fairly hard to come by here in Oklahoma, and I didn't realize the following they had until I joined the ranks here. Didn't take long for the bug to bite me. I belong to several online forums for different things, but RedSquare is the only one that I come to on a daily basis. The level of expertise that our member base shares is unlike any other. Looking forward to many many more years here, and hoping to one day meet many of you that make this place what it is.

Wish I could find that old thread and pic from years ago of Mike with his strap on and outta gas. Think it was lost in the forum move, (on purpose) @squonk keeps posting those pics just beg'n for some "Caption This" comments The Max Nunn story really tugs at the heart. Anyone who hasn't clicked on Jason's link above please do so and read each each post, you will see exactly what kind of forum this is. RIP Max and Tom Although the number of members has grown and many may have come and gone, the camaraderie here still remains the same. I'm glad to be part of it.

And now Karl trusts you to be a Moderator, come to think of it JimD was a Moderator before he passed away. Guess Karl was able to straighten you two out. I miss JimD, he was one of the truly great members, lots of fun and good input.

BTW...how many of these guys look like they just got banned from Red Square????

This site is way too much fun. If I am feeling down, I can come in here and end up feeling really good about things. Hard to go somewhere and have that happen.

I really thought I'd done myself in this time. I honestly hasn't been doing too good. Abdominal cramps, bloody stool, almost vomiting... Thought I'd gotten a tear in my insides and done myself in... Turns out, the cramps and vomiting were psychological (I make myself sick a so I don't have to take my ADHD medication) and the bloody stool is just a hemorrhoid. Kind of weird, having a hemorrhoid at only 16, though. That's a relief to hear...

The model number is 10601 8 South Bend Indiana. I have been told it is Not a no name. I sure appreciate all of you giving me your input.

YeeeHawwww When you have a Wheel Horse your imagination has NO end........I think come spring Ill build a front bucket and a grader either behind or possibly mid. For the wet sticky stuff up here where we fly the red&White Maple leaf I rev the wheel horse single stage to top rpm and just feed it the white stuff just enough so as not to clog the shoot. Dry snow even at 4 foot depth I only need 1/2 throttle but I force feeder and she sends it right back to the north pole. A wee trick also is keeping the shoot silky smooth. Next fall I hope to have already built a dual / 2 stage double shoot. I think that might just send the snow off to our auzzy brothers to help keep them cooler. Heheheheh

It was the plastic flywheel screen that caught my eye. Back when that machine was new they were metal. It’s possible that just the screen was swapped out . But I just blew up the pic and the decal on the right looks just like the one on my Kohler 10 replacement motor. It’s possible that this tractor has a Kohler factory replacement motor. That would be great news! Any pics from the PTO side? Wonder if the block is gray? Here is my C105 with a factory replacement motor ( note the plastic flywheel screen)

That was an interesting read as I live a sheltered life, had no clue what side gaping would be. But it seems to me that the term end gaping would be more appropriate, but that is just my sheltered mind thinking. I suppose this concept is where the revolutionary plugs of a few years ago came from with no ground strap allowing to fire any where in the 360 degree circle.

BIG BIG difference! There’s barely a need for the front lights. I had extra rope that I double backed in the end, so if I wanted to restring them I could come forward quite a few truss sets before heading back. They came with plastic clips, I’m sure the front shop would benefit from screwing some to the ceiling as well!

I have been working quite hard organizing the storage building, but tonight I took a few minutes and pulled the C-160 from the rack. After a quick look over I discovered the fuel line was cut. I pulled the belt off the transmission, I’d like to get it running before spinning the trans. It’s a bit low on oil and the trans looks full and bright red, but everything will get a fresh fluid change if all checks out. The battery is completely dead, so I’ll try to charge it but won’t be surprised if it needs to be replaced. I popped another one in, found the solenoid clicking but not engaging the starter. I removed the starter wire and jumped the terminals together and it rolled over! A quick shot of starting fluid and it roared to life! So far, it needs a fuel line and filter and starter solenoid, assuming it won’t bench test with jumpers either. This leads me to my next tough subject... The ceremonial naming! It’s a C-160. It’s the biggest one-lunger Kohler in a Wheel Horse. It’s superior and the largest engine in my fleet. It’s.... CHIEF!
