A common scene in our spare bed room every winter. My tractor will spend at least a week in the house while I let the paint cure a little before assembly.

I keep a John Deere in my dinning room. Right behind the fire truck and next to the airplane.

Here is mine. Displayed in a prominent place so everyone can see it. Wife has absolutely no problem with it.

I don't have one that stays in the house, but i have assembled a few in the house.

Finally got my WH leaf vacuum functional, and was out doing our lawn. Stopped to take a picture and a thought stuck me.. The tractor is an 83 WorkHorse GT1848, with a 1988 414-8 engine (using a 1969 starter motor), and rear wheels from a Bolens tube frame. The deck is a 1986 42SD with cast iron 60's era spindles and Double-D pulleys. The leaf vacuum is a 1972 model, with a 1984 Kawasaki FA210 JohnDeere leaf vacuum motor (of which the fuel pump failed, so it's using an antiquated Tillotson pump off my snowmobile), with a 70s era PeCo impeller housing .. using a semi modern Cyclone Rake impeller. All tied together with the mower deck boot off a 32" cut WH A-81 rear engine mower, which coincidentally fits the 42"SD perfectly. ..If the women don't find you handsome, they could at least find you handy..

So.....this facebook ad pops up in my feed and it has my name on a t-shirt trying to get me to buy there shirt. I think its just a little creepy, but the shirt was too cool not to share. The guys at work always called me macgyver because I could usually fix anything at work. Anyway, here is the picture!

You haven't truly found nirvana... until you find the wife is stacking laundry on them... the cat is napping on them... and you find yourself decorating with parts from them for the holidays.

We have tractors down in the basement on a very regular basis but that is kind of half den, half workshop so I'm not sure that counts.

When I decided to do this project I was very worried because I don’t know anything about this, once I found the ones here I am not worried, I know they will help me with it. Would love to meet them in person. I have always said there good and caring people all over this great country.

I don't work on any machines or have any in the house. This is all due to a conversation about 20 years ago. (it was more like a monolog) My wife said; the tractor hobby is okay as long as that stuff stays up at your work shop. You can have one machine in the driveway to ride back and forth. It ended up like there is an imaginary line posted between, kind of like the 38th parallel! I think the first 20 years of marriage provided her the knowledge to set up some rules.

Years ago I made tire breaker out of scrap steel..... best tool I have ever made and I use it all the time as well as my neighbors and anyone in a 10 mile radius

I want to restore it and make it look nice and keep it to play with, I will show you some pics and pics of couple more I have that are not wheel horses

The belt tightener is a swing arm on the transmission. It a 60's and 70's take of on a 30"s design called the "Power Pup" it's on the internet. I made a few design changes with a lot more gearing then the original. That a 8" rear end out of a 70"s Cougar that had 302 engine. The rear end was shorten to 48" out side of the brake drums. The design had had a few more additions since this picture. I have it apart right now to add a new bushing to the swing arm. The first bushing was just a make do with some aluminum flashing.

I made a few changes over the years It was a long build.

The size of my herd has gone from two to twelve in the past decade, but that isn't the most important part. The number of friendships I've made and the knowledge we have shared through Red Square is what is most meaningful to me.

I started building this in 2009 built the front axle and then didn't do anything to it for a year or so. The front spindles tie rods are Faline the front wheels and tires came from a 1966 Mustang. The steering gear box and rear axle is from a 1970 Cougar. The transmission is from a 1971 Ford Pickup. The frame is 3 and 4" channel left over from a trailer I built back in 1974. The rear wheels & tires are Ford car don't know the model. The rest was what I had or picked up from friends. That's about my computer will let me post at one time. [/ur

A funny story about the first late fall/early winter after my girl friend moved in with me. She came home from work & I was setting up a ramp on the front steps. "What are you doing??" she asked. "I'm bring my Harley inside for the winter, just like I do every year" was my reply. "If that bike comes in the house, I'm moving out!!" was her reply. I said "Well, I'm gonna miss you. Now get out of the way" My bike spent every winter inside the house until I sold it about 8 or 9 years later. Oh yeah! My girl friend stayed & even married me, been together 27 yrs. Moral of the story? Heck I dunno, but it worked out well for me. No more bikes in the house for me, (For now ) The only display tractors that my wife allows in the house (so far) is part of my collection of 1/64th scale Case & IH tractors. Here is part of that collection. I started collecting these about '82 or so & have tried to keep up with the new Ertl releases every year since then, plus collected some of the older ones. I also have some made by other companies as well. I have 4 large totes full of tractors that are still in the package yet that I just don't have a place to display.

I built a sixth scale model centurion tank that was 5 feet long, looked wonderful. Decided to try it in the living room while she was out shopping. Didn't look right so I retreated before she got home. Unfortunately the track marks in the carpet informed on me and that saying about begging forgiveness Really did not hold true lol.

That's a real fine looking , just the way it is! If it's still original, I'd leave it like it is! As they say it's only original once. Buff it out, to brighten the paint and enjoy it Afterall it is your tractor and you can do anything you want with it

you might just want to start fresh and rewire the whole machine following the wiring diagram. some fresh copper and connections to the correct places will keep it going for another 50 years.

This is close to my prep for winter storage of my outboard engines. These are two strokes motors used in salt water so all steps don't apply. I make a concentrated mixture of fuel. Two cups non ethanol gasoline One half cup of Sea Foam. One half cup of 2 cycle oil. I start the engines as normal, then pull the fuel line off at the tank and stick it in the container of super fuel. The idea is to allow it to be sucked into the lines ,filters, fuel pump, carbs, and cylinders. Then I cap the fuel line. I then pull the plugs and spray each cylinder with fogging oil as I rotate the crank several rotations. I drain all the fuel from the tanks and actually burn the 50/1 mix in my 4 stroke engines. I like to turn the engines over monthly to redistribute the oil on the cylinder walls and to reposition the fins on the rubber water pumps. My engines always start easily in the spring although it takes a few minutes to burn off all the excess oil.

My wife wishes that was me!!! I have lost 70 pounds in the last 6 months though! Randy

If I was in your position I would try it. You have 6 forward speeds to select from if power is lacking under some conditions. Garry

Congratulations are in order. I have always wanted to build a house around my toys but the wife won that argument and they stay in the garage. Oh, and I got to pay for the house. Seems to work that way all the time... You, sir, are the king!

There's no feeling like having tractors in the house!

This is a pretty low-key update, but today's install was some rear wheel weights on my C165.

I recently bought a few more to go with my 14 strong collection , luckily I can sneak these ones past her indoors without having to buys bunches of flowers to say sorry about my addiction

No tractor, but I do have a complete 1968 MotoSki Zephyr sitting in my basement.

There slowly get closer and closer to making it into the house.

Welded up the rim for the dual on the 1054. Need to get longer bolts for mounting it. Then get the tire mounted.

just make sure that leather brake stops the transaxle completely before shifting. these aren't wh transaxle s where you can get replacement gears!

It finally rained a little bit this afternoon so I finished washing up the old girl. I also installed my temporary brake setup. I contact cemented a piece on leather in the brake band I got the wheel cleaned up a bit more. Luckily whoever paint the wheel black did a crappy job and whoever manufacture it did a great job! My son stopped by after work and pulled the engine back out of his WH and reinstalled the MF mounts to the engine. I’m thinking this is a very low hour machine. The engine is in practically new condition as is the paint on the foot pedals. They’ve not been repainted either. There’s moto mower red peeking out. Lol. We are having some issues with belts now. I’m going to have to get an inch longer belt for the trans and see if that works. The 35” engine to jackshaft looks like it may be ok but the 62” blue Kevlar belt will not even come close to fitting. I cleaned out the fuel Petcock and tmw I’ll clean out the fuel tank. I hoping I don’t have to line it but we’ll see.
