That Mustang takes me back to the 60's. My Gramps had one at the lake and man we popped the wheelies on that beast!! 👍🏻

Found this little wagon in pieces at the curb. Got some brackets and put it all back together. Put a little riser on the end of the handle and mounted it up behind the little Work Horse. Not very big ... might hold a small cooler. The paint on my Work Horse has more of a gold tone then grey. I dont know if they are all like that

Finished the deck build I "mentioned" in another thread! Thought I'd wrap it up here. To recap, I had a friend cnc plasma cut, and weld up a shell. I replaced my original spindles with aftermarket , replacements for CubCadet 1045-1046 deck. Had to fab up the center DRIVE pulley, and modify the Tensioner design. Cut 1/2 acre of grass today,, Looks to be a success!!!

My wife tells me I hijacked Bianca thred. I am new to this so I will pre apologize. I just acquired my fathers 1969 W.H. gt 14. We did a mechanical restore in the eighties. It has the hood. Looking to restore again. It has been sitting in a carport for 18 years. Cleaned lines, flushed gas, new battery and plug and fired right up. Pretty excited

Figured I’d post pics of what the old girl is made of. My son pulled the engine and electrical system while it was still on death row by the crusher. I started going over the chassis in preparation for the reunion of the 2. I was able to get it to this point with 3 wrenches and 15 minutes. I pulled the pedals and pivots, cleaned up and straightened the pins, greased it up and they move like new. The brake shaft seal is a leaker. I hope I can find seals for this trans. The friction material is gone on the brake band. I’m hoping @rmaynard has a fix for me. I was able to easily get it all apart with just a handful of tools. Someone took good care of this tractor. It’s a very sturdy simple tractor.

I just want to let you guys know that you all are very bad influences and I'm positive that you're doing it on purpose. My original plan was to tear it down and do a resto on it. After being told and reading around on here, i noticed Resto's ain't all that popular around these parts. So on a whim to see if all these random people on the internet knew what they were talking about, I wet sanded a rear fender with some 400 grit that I had laying around. Now I have a fender with character to cool to cover with new paint which means now I have to do the rest to make it match. My arm is aching! And it's all of y'alls fault! Sorry about the mess in the pic, like I said it was on a whim.

There is more in there for him. We are meeting up halfway in NC to do some horse swapping 😁 plus he has another mustang for me👍

This is a pretty low-key update, but today's install was some rear wheel weights on my C165.

I'm in, with material, belt, spraypaint, tension spring, spindles ect.. about $200. My friend hasn't billed his time yet!! He's "reluctant" to bill friends.. I'll settle up with him at some point!!!

I couldn’t help myself. same year I was born, isn’t it cute 1970 Lawn Ranger next a little size comparison

I like it ... It's always a tough decision to resto or stay orginal. The fellas here have got me brainwashed to orginal and sometimes I think the only reason I agree is even with the elbow grease it's much less work than a totall resto! End result is it's your tractor you make it your own. Another general consensus amongst us is if the original paint has been attacked, say with a terrible paint brush job, it is open for a full blown resto. Hope this helps to confuse you more! BTW thank you for crediting us as being bad influences.... anything to help a fledgling addict out!

They look like seat backrest springs, not sure why they would be mounted like that

if you use the negative feature on photo editor you can turn a red tractor blue!!

As much as I hate paying rent for anything, I'm thinkin' that I will have to rent a storage unit for this winter. Other wise I will have no room to do a resto this year. Let's see I joined in 2015 with a total of one lonely . Right now I'm at an even dozen.

will do So half day at work today. Had drive to the coast to pickup some Wheel Horse gear I ordered. well this morning my guy with the WH gear tells me he’s passing on a 753. So I went and looked at it. I do need a few parts, well then just throw it on here. 😂 Hoods a little crooked because the motor has been replaced (locked up) But at least the PO didn’t cut the hood. Anyone have any idea what these are on the back? i have no idea what they’d be for

I have 8 Red ones, had some, some left, bought some and getting ready to do some swapping. I think I’ll have 10 total after this and it’ll stop there for a while......a little while

I think it looks nice. They did a decent job. Some of it is almost a hammertone. Some looks flaky metallic. I have no idea what it really was. I just need to see about painting the wheels and getting some matching tires on. The front wheels are off a Sears and the rears are both wide pattern rims but the tires are very different, and it sits lopsided. That tractor was actually on a trailer headed for scrap. I went to the house to buy a mower deck and came home with the whole machine.

I started spring of 2018 i borrowed my uncles C81 to do some tilling. By the end of May I bought my first. D250. Now I have 11 as of last night. And that’s only what I consider my collection. Few parts tractors kicking around to.

Easy peasy Super... a couple of pieces of plywood, some carpet pad and a cover your in like Flint... double up the padding on her side and just might see some lovin!

It looks like you have all of the old belts, you could take them to a local place that sells belts & have them matched up to new ones. I would suggest getting Kevlar replacements.
  29. 2 points
Yo dude you got two of them .... get creative and make a double up rider and the Missus can have a seat!

Took some steering wheel pics. Should I keep cleaning off the wheel? It doesn’t look tampered with. my son stopped after work and we freed up the stuck implement arm and he welded it back up. all fixed. I hope it can lift this deck when it gets gone over next. It’s a beast. Any ideas if the Is the same age? Anyone know of a source for a rubber engine mount?

My Wheel Horse journey started back in March 2016 when I was given my 1277, shortly after I stumbled across RedSquare while looking for parts and realized the following these little machines have. I am currently up to 6, though only the C125 and the 753 are runners at this time. And always looking for more
  32. 2 points
And then you occasionally get lucky and pick up something like this with 400 hours for $200!

I joined in 2015 with one and now have 4 + 1 in parts. I need 5 more 854's. One 854 for each grandchild.

To have some fun?!?!? When I joined in '15 I was WHX4! You better have answered that correct Dan @Achto....the way the nice ones are dropping in your lap! Wished you didn't have a roof to do or we would be building you a shed for more!

I guess if we're going to be listing the ones that don't run, I have two projects in the works. One for me and one for Trina. Colossus for me and an 856 for her. That will make 3 each by next spring. We also have at least two others in the parts pile that are complete and enough stuff in the parts pile to build a couple more. We did put up a portable garage this past spring with the help of @JCM Jim and Trina's mom and that is our separate covered storage for the tractors and a couple other things.

'65 it is indeed. And yes it was a short run, being '64-'66. The first 500 or so were 7E's and had the aluminum steering wheel in '65 they had the white wheel that yours has and the '66's had a black wheel that was produced by Sheller. A very interesting note on these was the system used to start the tractor, all had a neutral safety switch mounted under the shift lever for starting, pretty clever way to enforce safety in the middle '60's I think. Supposing this switch needs replaced, new ones are still readily available, on the web or at your local MF dealer.

When I joined RedSquare in 2009 I had one B-100. From that point I have bought and sold more than 20. However, at this moment in time I currently own 6.

I’ve learned a lot from this poll so far. There are many more 5+ tractor owners than I expected. I own two because it is all that will fit in my garage. Thought there would be many more in this situation. I’m guessing now that most of the members have a separate garage or storage barn for their herd. If I had that, I’d have 5+ too!

I enjoyed this poll and all the comments. I fit right in with the rest of us. Had many the enclosed trailer and the truck to hall it. But in time things come back around.

Well I managed to slip off to the garage today after work. Armed with a new battery and the desire to change gasoline into tiny fireballs, I managed to get her running. Couldn't get her to move but found a broken spring on the clutch side. Pulled out what remained of it and got the movement I needed to engage the belt. Drove her around the yard and revved at the wife while operating the throttle with needle nose pliers. 🎶 She thinks my tractors sexy 🎶

Great, thanks for the tip. I really appreciate all the info. I really want to keep this machine running. It’s been a great help to the boys and I with our firewood business. They just don’t make machines anymore that can take the work load we ask of it. Again thanks fellas!

I can't speak for what Bob sells but I'm sure it's similar to the stuff I have on hand. Mine can be cut and is quite flexible. Yes.

my guess is 65, the first ones still had the aluminum steering wheel, the later ones changed the foot pedals shape. it was a short run 64 to 66
