8 pointsWish this was one was still around. My dad got it from a church. We fixed it up and then he sold it off. It was kinda clunky to operate but was super cool looking.

5 pointsYesterday we visited Köln, a familiar place. After walking around the Cathedral, we revisited the site that I gave my wife a 10 year anniversary wedding ring 2 years back. Then off to an indoor ski area. What a great idea! The Cathedral was originally started in 1248, took well over 200 years to complete and had to be entirely rebuilt after the war. They were built so tall in that time to be a central focal point for travelers to find church service or the city for food and rest. We have climbed the staircase to the top before, such magnificent sights to see in every direction!

4 pointsFinished the deck build I "mentioned" in another thread! Thought I'd wrap it up here. To recap, I had a friend cnc plasma cut, and weld up a shell. I replaced my original spindles with aftermarket , replacements for CubCadet 1045-1046 deck. Had to fab up the center DRIVE pulley, and modify the Tensioner design. Cut 1/2 acre of grass today,, Looks to be a success!!!

3 pointsFigured I’d post pics of what the old girl is made of. My son pulled the engine and electrical system while it was still on death row by the crusher. I started going over the chassis in preparation for the reunion of the 2. I was able to get it to this point with 3 wrenches and 15 minutes. I pulled the pedals and pivots, cleaned up and straightened the pins, greased it up and they move like new. The brake shaft seal is a leaker. I hope I can find seals for this trans. The friction material is gone on the brake band. I’m hoping @rmaynard has a fix for me. I was able to easily get it all apart with just a handful of tools. Someone took good care of this tractor. It’s a very sturdy simple tractor.

3 points312-8 last couple of days , zero response to key start, thought it was a connection issue , because it usually starts instantly, got to it today , checked fuses and connections , seamed to react to trying to start with lights on. opened dash and checked out starting switch, bingo ! one of the plug on tabs was corroded . lightly sanded down all related tabs and used DIELECTRIC GREASE lightly to each connection point , back to instant starting . not a big deal , but when you are used to no starting issues at all , it really stands out . had a very good catch up day , taking advantage of the opportunity to do things , day just flew by , pete

3 pointsStarted working on a 36 inch rear discharge mower deck I got from Florida (by way of Rodney Burger) and an early mid-grader blade. Had another Mid-Grader blade needing paint so started on that too! Nice Kohler Motor Dealer Sign given to me by Rodney today! mostly has to do with the pivot handle.

3 pointsWell, my collection was zero 10 years ago... so it’s gained much since then! Thanks a lot, Big Show!

3 pointsShe lives! Got engine mounted and lined up. Miracle of miracles- the belt is in line, tranny works in all gears for a foot or two, and nothing has blown up, fallen off or broken...!!! Lots of fine tuning to go and then the finishing touches...hint: she is gonna be a “wrecker” of sorts, but with an appropriate flare...more to come! 8A1D3706-6341-4843-8F1F-D7660B07282E.MOV

2 pointsThese can be done with the key in the RUN position. Grey wire goes to brake switch. Switch closed (brake on) sends voltage to the violet wire. Violet wire goes to 1/2 of the neutral switch.Transmission in neutral sends voltage to the orange wire on switch. Orange wire goes to seat switch. With operator in seat the seat switch sends voltage to the tan wire you checked before and had 0 volts. This series of components should give you battery voltage in the tan wire. I suspect your problem is somewhere in here.

2 pointsI am not sure, but there is only a little resistance on the compression stroke and it kind of sticks at that point.... I took a recoil off a 5hp tecumseh engine that I have and it fits on the engine, but I will need a cup that will work. I also got this metal guard with the tractor but I am not sure if it belongs to it or not, look familiar?

2 pointsBowls are for Cheerios and Chili. I've had some originals and I tore them off. Send me your address Jim and when I have time to dig them out I'll send them to ya. You can send me something cool Packer or Mafia related in return. You can buy replacement screens and gaskets at your local Napa.

1 pointGreat, thanks for the tip. I really appreciate all the info. I really want to keep this machine running. It’s been a great help to the boys and I with our firewood business. They just don’t make machines anymore that can take the work load we ask of it. Again thanks fellas!

1 pointHe Built His Own Skid Steer Loader "I built my own skid steer loader for $3,100, saving thousands of dollars on the cost of a comparable new one," says Rob Martens, Steinbach, Manitoba, who used parts from a pair of self-propelled swathers. "It's so comfortable to operate that I can hardly wait to find jobs to use it for. When my wife hears me start it up, she wonders if I'm really working or just playing around," says Martens, who raises hogs. He bought an International swather for $100 and stripped off everything except the hydraulic components, gas tank, seat, and 15-in. wheels. He used 4-in. sq., 1/4-in. thick steel tubing to make a frame and welded on two steel posts that attach to the loader arms off a Deere tractor. He used 1 1/4-in. steel rod to make axles and welded steel plates onto each end, drilling holes in the plates that match up with the bolt holes on the swather wheels. The skid steer is powered by a Wisconsin 4-cyl. air-cooled gas engine (rated at 37 hp) and transmission salvaged from a junked Co-Op self-propelled swather. Originally, Martens used the swather transmission and clutches to chain-drive the wheels, but the clutches needed constant adjustment and wore out quickly so he replaced them with orbit motors powered by a 28 gpm hydraulic pump that's belt-driven off the engine. The orbit motors chain-drive the rear wheels which in turn chain-drive the front wheels. Each orbit motor is controlled by a Gresen 400 single spool valve. A splitter valve runs off the hydraulic pump to divide the flow equally to each of the valves. Martens used 1 1/2-in. sq., 1/4-in. thick steel tubing to build a rollover cage. The 6-ft. wide bucket was custom made. A separate 12 gpm hydraulic pump operates a pair of hydraulic cylinders that raise or lower the arms. Two more cylinders are used to tilt the bucket. "It has a lot of pushing power. With a 12-tooth sprocket on the orbital motor and a 72-tooth sprocket on the drive wheel, I get about 5,500 lbs. of torque on each side," says Martens. "By pushing one lever forward and the other back, I can turn the machine around on a dime. "I built it because I needed a tractor with a bucket but couldn't justify the cost of a new tractor. The least expensive tractor that I could find to do what I wanted would have cost about $10,000. It took about a year to collect the parts and another two winters to build. I got the loader arms from a neighbor who had used it on a tractor that was too big, causing the loader to break. My custom-made, 6-ft. bucket is stronger than any-thing on the market. It's made from 3/8-in. steel and has extra wear plates on the bottom. I'm only 27 but it'll probably last as long as I farm. "The gas tank mounts under the seat and the hydraulic reservoir behind the operator's shoulders. I kept the swather gauges so I can monitor everything from electrical voltage to hydraulic oil temperature." 1 pointNothing wrong with a sediment bowl . I have a 72 year old tractor that has had one on it's whole life & is still running great. Parts are available but if you wish to replace it here is a good source. http://www.psep.biz/store/kohler_fuel_filters.htm I've been running one of theirs on my McLean for the last few years & have had no issues with it.

1 pointWish I could. The previous owner had it repainted and re-stickered at a dealer back in the late 90s. All I can say is it's a pewter color with a subtle metallic look. Not the factory paint.

1 pointThe most rare Massey that I know of in the states is a Massey Ferguson Elf. It was built by Gutbrod and never exported to the states. To my knowledge there is only one on North American soil & that one is in Canada.
-
1 pointMy son says it’s all there including the battery cover and mower deck. He pulled the engine for a replacement for his C85. He feels bad about doing that now since we found out how rare & old the tractor is. Hopefully I’ll be posting pics of it after work today. 😁
