Of all the old spark plugs I've seen over the years this is the first one using leather for the insulator. Later this afternoon will post a few pictures of a few more oddity's.

Got a stick welder? Clamp a piece of scrap metal to the round bar. Put the ground clamp on the pedal. Crank it up and run a few beads on the scrap metal. The current running through the rust will heat it up and should blow the rust out. Garry

I got my Wheelhorse in 2004 when I was 14 (I am 28 now), my Grandfather had a Lawnflite and ever since I really wanted a lawn tractor. I saved up doing chores and mowing lawns etc, and finally we went to a garden machinery place in our local town to see if there was any I could afford. Outside were a lot of customer machines, and I was instantly drawn to a Wheelhorse, as a fan of classic cars and machinery it just stuck out to me. The owner came out and started talking to me and my parents and said he had one just like it, but black indoors. We had a look and I still remember seeing it for the first time, love at first sight I suppose I think my Dad said "wow, that's like the Dodge Charger of lawnmowers!" haha. I paid £300 (I live in England) for it, it was the first vehicle of any sort I bought myself. Had it ever since Here is a picture of it the day I got it, and now: Aside from the fact these machines are so tough, easy to work on, and just really cool, it is a machine I grew up with as did my friends, and I could never get rid of it I hope one day I can pass it down to my children. I only have the one Horse, I don't have space for any more at the moment but really enjoy reading about other people's machines and also of course, Wheelhorse fans seem to be the nicest people around

you know what would look great with my classic wheelhouse tractor? ... an avocado green dozer blade !!! said nobody ever.
  8. 3 points
I think what you should do is sell one of the weights to me . There is no way to mount them both on one tractor.

Since when does Ryobi sell sell dozer blades? LOL. Teach him right from wrong. He obviously doesn't know how to mask off anything! Just look at where the black meets the green.

PM Bob (very nice guy) .... he is the only source that I know of for these covers with the pressed pleats and logo as original . He had plates specifically made for pressing the pleats and logo . You never know until you ask ?

They made a factory bracket that mounted two of these, one right in front of the other so they were pinned in with one long bolt. I can't find the picture right now, but I'll check again later.

No regulator. Just a diode the rectify a 3 amp stator to charge the battery and a 2nd stator that powers the lights only with AC current. Garry

Think I'd do a custom side by side mount...one facing left, one to the right. Probably take up the same amount of space as one in front of the other.

Well....I bought another Wheel Horse today. It’s a C-145. I bought it for the engine. I was told it wasn’t all that nice so I didn’t feel bad taking parts from it but it turns out it’s in pretty good shape. Now I’m not sure I want to strip it for the parts I want.

Our county fair started today and the elementary schools are busing students over to enjoy the big doings. I took a couple out as part of the tractor and engine club display, the little guys seemed to approve!

I may have one of those motors. It's a huge 1/4 HP on an old 30 gal. Champion Compressor. It came from at an old country Esso service station. that had one 10 gallon glass hand pump.and one hand crank kerosine pump. We didn't get electric lines until 1940. My guess is that the compressor was old when Installed at the service station. I rebuilt the little compressor in the 60"s it would still be working but the tank rusted out.

You have to have a local hydraulic repair shop that could give you some guidance getting your pump back up on its feet.

push the bearing in about 1/4" in from end of axle housing. press seal in flush with end of axle housing. Seal doesn't touch bearing. If you push the seal up against the bearing you can deform the lip so it does not seal nicely on the axle shaft

Well here's how my project is coming along. I took an old snow plow frame and modified it to go on the tractor backwards. Then I put the leaf vac on top of it and fastened it down . I got some semi rigid flex duct from Lowes that I'm going to try. Still need to modify attachment to hook to the mower deck

Update: Took carb off and took it apart. First thing I found was a missing screw on the throttle side butterfly. Replaced that with a spare laptop screw that fit it perfectly. Second thing I found was the main needle was flaking off it's "paint". Scrubbed all that off, put it back together and it runs a lot better. It occasionally "misses" but nothing impactful. Float was fine. Submerged for a while, no water in it. Did not sink at all.

An easy way to R & R wheels with weights or weighted wheels or both: Go to HF and get one of those dollies to move cars with. Jack up the tractor enough to get the dollie under the tire. Unbolt the wheel and roll it out and visey versey to re-install.

I did the same thing as Garry but I added some valve springs. It allows wiggle to make it easier to line up the bolts. I used long carriage bolts.

The two different lengths got me interested. Wen and measured my BDR-385...It is 39 inches long. I have a spare wear edge it is also 39" long. The wera edge part numbers are the same for the BDR 385 and the 6-3151. The mounting units are completely different. The BDR-385 parts list doesn't mention length at all. However my L-107 manual does call the BDR-385 a 38" blade.

Well worth six bills. I bought 416-8 with 16 hp Onan. Previous owner added big tractor tires, little tires on front (guess he was going to pull it). It had major oil leak, called onan dealer ordered a frost plug.Runs like a champ.
