My father-in-law's RJ-58 as it looked when I got it a couple months ago. Of course, I'm having to change things to make it mechanically sound and get it running,

Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) Here are photos of my 653. It is 100% original. All decals are present and intact even on engine. Even the carburetor looks like it has never been touched. The plow has never been mounted with the hardware still in the sealed bag. Tires still have a lot of the "knibs" on them. It has only cut grass twice in its life. Cas (additional info edited in) Bought it in 2007 on eBay. It came from Columbus,Ohio. My fiercest competitor for it was Wild Bill. It was his questions to the seller and the fact that he stated who he was that really sparked my final interest in the tractor. Needless to say it did not come cheap. I seem to be the third owner. It was originally owned by an elderly gentleman in a farming comunity and it was only used by him for transportation. Its second owner had it only for a little while and used it only twice to mow an elementary school yard. I don't believe this tractor has ever stayed outside one day in its life or ever felt a drop of rain. With the exception of a bill of sale every other piece of paper that came with it in 1963 I have, down to the engine tag warning to put oil in before using. Everything feels tight like new specially the steering. It was certainly loved by its previous owners as testified by its condition. It has never been touched by paint or a wrench. It only had one diode changed at some time in the past . I can also state that it will stay that way for at least two more generations, since it will not go anywhere during that time.

Here are a few pictures that I got. A doodle bug, I don't think that I've ever seen a doodle bug made from a Chevrolet. A pretty cool motorcycle car. Steam & oil row One of my favorite kerosene tractors is the Aultman & Taylor. Got Jim to pose next to it for a size reference. One of Aultman & Taylor's advertisements for their threshing machines was the skinny chicken. Insinuating that if your chickens were pecking on the ground for spilled grain from the thresher, that there would be no food there for them to find. An interesting hit / miss Simplicity combo. Ryan's youngest taking Jim's dog Lucy for a ride. Jim caught catching a ride behind Joel's Simple City Landlord.

Kinda a story behind that tractor fellas. I had dad's 1850 Snapper on here awhile back and put it on CL. Way too much of a project for me but a guy saw it and wanted to come have a look see. We got to yakking on the phone and he wanted to trade this Horse he had. I says Ok bring it on over and I'll have a look see. Turns out I nor Dan @Achto who was at my place at the time had no idea what it was but I give the guy 150 off on the price of the Snapper for it. Done deal. Patina to die for and a Tecky that started first pull. What's not to like? I did the usual and changed oil fixed up the choke cable abit, put a kill switch on ... never did get around to the gov issue. .. sorry Mike. Anyhoo it got cold out and wouldn't roll ....yup water in tranny froze. Got it back in the shop and thawed and drained and filled with kerosene. Drained it and got 80/90 back in it but wouldn't hurt to flush it again.. BTW Mike pulled both hubs to change seals and busted one hub brown welded but @Lane Ranger came to the rescue with another three bolt. It had no belt guard when I got it but a suitable replacement was found at the '18 BS with perfect matching patina! Hence the off decal. I got a 604 decal for it Mike at plow day if you want it but guys told me the 502 adds character and keeps jokers & bozos like Craig guessing.. It was a real sorry mess as far as rubber when I got it but Mike did wonders. Wheel barrow front that was bent and wobbly. More character Dan says. I threw a pair of mismatched turfs on the rear it just cause it was peeing cloride all over the shop! Again BTW Mike the the number on the hood was the PO's auction number and the rear hitch was for pulling his hog roaster around. I got three cans of PB Blaster in freeing that up! Pics of what it was. Glad to see it went to a good home where it got more love than I could give it... same with you Denny @dclarke

With the exception of the seat and mid grader. I bought this 73 no-name 12 from the original owner. Still had the original spark plug in it when I picked it up. (He kept it)

I am reasonably sure this 953 has never been repainted! And it never be while I'm alive! ! ! !

My 1057 and favorite . I’m the second owner . I’ve never heard a quieter deck than this one. My 856 . There’s a short back seat under the cushion somewhere. This is a photo off eBay and I scored it with the cart too just as a bonus . I was the only bidder. My 212-6 . Now at my cousins house on mowing duty . My cousins (1967 I believe) lawn Ranger. It was doing the mower duties but didn’t wanna blow up the Tecumseh !

Don't forget that a C195 had six-lug rims. Here is a picture of the 1984 Super C I regrettably sold sitting next to my 1984 C165. I believe the rear tires on the Super C were 27-9.50R15 and the fronts were 18-6.50R8. My C165 has since gained 18-8.50R8 turf tires on the front, NOS hood, and a regular muffler so it looks a little more the Super C. I believe where the frame of the C195 is lengthened is behind the foot rests to allow the machine to accommodate the larger diameter tires. I don't think I'd go moving the foot rests forward, it seems easier to add a few inches to the rear to me.

So, Sunday afternoon I am relaxing on my bed and I hear something fall in the bathroom. I have heard my pill bottles get knocked off a shelf by adventuress mice. I do live out in the country so field mice are common. I go into the bathroom to investigate and discover the culprit. I have seen Massasauga in the yard several times but suspect this is a wannabe Hognose. Still a surprise. It put up a bit of a fight but I was able to relocate it back outside.

I have 6 x 10 with a ramp gate. Using skinny tires I can put my 857 on sideways and my 953 & 1267 on side by side. If I had to do it over again the smallest I would want is 6 1/2 x 12. I would get the biggest trailer you can store, haul and afford. You never know what you might need in the future.

My 857 I got from HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! @857 horse . I think the paint is original. You can see the holes in the hood for the insect sprayer mounting and the on the exhaust pipe is the hook up for it. Hey HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! . The # 8 is on the hood. Is that the number you were telling me about at the show?

Your voltage regulator is mounted to the upper part of your flywheel fan cover. It has a three wire flat connector with all of the wires going behind the fan cover. If the regulator/rectifier is not properly grounded the voltage can go higher than normal. Remove the two screws that hold it in place and clean the contact area with a little steel wool or sandpaper.

Somewhat a big following of Case fans around here Ollie and if I wasn't such a WH freak I would have a couple. Your best bet is hop on some of the other GT sites and shake some trees for parts. More than a few Case/Colt specific sites out ther this just being one of them. http://www.jicasecollector.com/index.html as well as the dreaded FB.
