8 pointsPlease welcome into the world by the Grace of God our little Noah Nathanael Sousa. Born at 11:52am, 9lbs 12 ounces. Mommy and baby are doing great. He is our fourth Grandchild.

4 pointsSo we are gonna head down on Tuesday to spend some time in Gettysburg before the big show. We are loaded up and ready to roll. Just need to pick up the boy’s buddy’s 312 puller and we are locked and loaded. Due to the forecast I decided to leave the 420 with the new leather seat and steering wheel at home. My main driver/rider will be my 1984 C-195 I restored (worker restore) last fall. She is a bit of a hard roll due to the rear tires but what the heck. Post up your photos here ready for the big show!!
-
4 pointsLatest update Have all the parts assembled at once and it's really close now. The steering moves but the tolerances are too loose to keep it looking right. I'll be doing some more little things and sanding probably right up until I leave to head down on Wed but here she is. Thanks so much for all of the great compliments and following along on this little build.

4 pointsHaha! Made ya look ! My two show put-puts for this years WH Show we’re still muddy from the spring Zagray show (especially the one I let @wallfish drive ). Broke out the electric pressure washer and gave both a good blasting. The front tire treads were the worst to clean. One less thing to do before the trip to PA

3 pointsBit of a “Proud Papa” moment today: My almost 4 year old went out to the family farm overnight last night, and I picked him up this evening. He got out there last night just in time for evening chores, so he was out right to work. Which is exactly what that boy wants. He fed the chickens, he fed the sheep, and he fed the donkeys. Then he collected eggs and shut them up for the night. When my uncle got home he helped unload the car and put away groceries. This morning he got up and did it all again, with a smile on his face. I called after breakfast, and he informed me that “ I’m going to be a farmer for five more days.” (Read: I want to stay here for five more days.) When I got there about 5 this evening, he was visibly unhappy to see me. Not because he didn’t miss me, but because he knew that meant he was leaving. Now, he’s not 4 until the end of August, and he has his moments here at home where he’ll push the limits of whinnyness. Not once, did he defy, disobey, question, or complain about anything I asked him to do in regards to getting ready to leave. His face didn’t change, but he did as asked. My aunt told me that he had been a joy to have, that he was polite, and kind, and helpful. He was asleep about 5 minutes after work pulled out of the drive, but when I asked him “What was your favorite thing you did at the farm?” He listed off the chores he did. “Giving the sheep their minerals, feeding the chickens, feeding the donkeys...(this is where he fell asleep).” When we got home he woke up again for a bit and I asked him again if he’d had a good time, and he said “Yea Daddy, you should buy a farm.” At least he didn’t tell me to buy THE farm. Im glad that I’ve managed to raise a kid who feels a need to work and be helpful.

3 points^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This guy.... Pretty awesome! Jim @JCM drove up and gave me, Trina, and her mom a hand with the assembly process today. Here's Trina's mom, Jim (on the 867) and me. It's all up and filling fast. View from the driveway end View from the woods end This evening we cleared another path through the forest from the back of the portable garage down over the hill to the existing forest path.

3 pointsThat’s the reason we’re camping this year! No more foreign confined heckling for shorts and boots!
-
3 pointsYou forgot to pose with them! Shorts and boots man! That’ll sell ‘em!
-
3 pointsOk boys and girls of all ages, time for the sale of the season😂! I listed three tractors for sale earlier. I’ll drop the prices a little as we all get ready for the show. 953 - $800 at the show, $750 if presold. 312-8 low hours $700 at the show, $650 if presold. 414-8 $650 at the show, $600 if presold. Hurry on down to Crazy Dell’s, these won’t last long at this price😂🤣😂! Please feel free to ask any questions! If not presold, I will likely leave the 953 or 312 at home - not sure which.

2 pointsNot really holding out, just made it today in between those 2 posts. Snow equipment is the show feature this year so...
-
2 pointsNever used any thing on any of mine no leaks. if you have a hydro and use teflon tape you better hope no little part comes off. The acceleration valve holes on a sunsdstrand are very very samall and a bit of tape (or RTV) will plug them up.
-
2 pointsFrom what it was, to what it is.....pretty excited to see some new paint on it!!!
-
2 pointsSmall thing but happy with the rear lights working again, tuned out it was just a simple dodgy connection 👍
-
2 pointsThanks everyone for your help! I got the weights on today and it made a HUGE difference on the slopes. Granted it is getting drier out but I'm sure it will still be significant with some moisture. I'm going to hold off on the ag tires and chains for now.
-
2 pointsGreat!! I don’t have any side trips on my way down so I’ll be there for the pic
-
2 pointsFREE I have a pair of 15" snow tires that I will never use, they are old and have some weather cracking (not petrified) but are serviceable. If anybody wants them for free I will bring them along.
-
2 pointsIt’s not very often you find a tire that’s flat on the side and round on bottom...
-
2 points5-1422 is a 1969 42" side disch deck....not 32". It is for Raiders and Chargerrs Bronco 14 etc...up to 1972 or 73... before the Tach-o-matic lift system.
-
2 pointsNo Check out the pinned post on this forum about block styles. Losing the isolation mount is a good thing in my opinion.
-
2 pointsWorth looking into. You would have to take off your shaker plate (isolation) engine mount. The new engine has a full size oil pan and base and would bolt directly to the frame You might have to use j hooks for the PTO side of the engine as the oil pan may or may not be drilled and tapped for up from the bottom mounting. (you could always pick up a used pan if it wasn't) The new engine was made for Norcar. The length and diameter of the PTO end of the crank shaft is the big potential issue. It may not be long enough Edit: According to the parts diagram both engines use the same number crankshaft 4614221-s so you may be OK...but I would measure to be sure. Also both engines are battery coil ignition so no rewiring headaches....

2 pointsGene, Thank you! That is exactly what I needed. I looked at lots of pictures, but wanted to be sure. Danny
-
2 pointsThat’s the first time I’ve been accused of THAT! I need to call my mom, she’ll be so proud, especially since I have it in writing Im going to have to defer to @formariz, seems he has that one wrapped up. I wouldn’t have known where to start lol * Taking Cas’ thoughts on ingots, if the measurements and the numbering doesn't match up, could be that the numbers are weights in ounces 🤷🏻♂️
-
2 pointsI had a cup of coffee at 4:30, sent my wife off to work, got into the shop about 5:10. Forgot breakfast. Yep, I’m getting hungry. But I’m doing tractor stuff and the house is so far away... at least 30 yards!

2 pointsThe shift boot on my 312-8 (inherited from parents after dad passed) was loose, but in good condition. Put it back on but popped out of place again. Solved the problem by putting a small hose clamp around the top of the boot. No more water in the tranny when I changed again this spring.

2 pointsOn the BOTTOM of the case. It isn't the one on the side. It will be a while draining because of thickness. I give mine overnight if I can but minimum an hour or two. You can also flush the transmission using K1 or diesel and drive it around a bit to help cleanse the gears. It's a great idea to replace the shift boot if you haven't already done so. Keep us posted about the color and consistency of the fluid. It often resembles taffy or caramel which is delicious but not what should be in there.
-
2 pointsnew meaning to the word tow truck I thought that those tires were marked not for highway use eric j
-
2 pointsDon’t worry Kev, boots and shorts are ready! Legs are so white you’ll need welding shades to ride an elevator with me!😂🤣😂
-
2 pointsGlad to see you will be giving your Grandfather's some love. Your shift lever is retained bu a "Dog-point Screw that may need to be tightened. Good idea to replace the gear oil . The drain plug is near the back of the transmission near the trailer hitch. It takes an allen wrench to remove the plug. You should jack up the front end to be sure all the old oil drain. You will need two quarts of 80-90 gear oil to refill, slow and easy when adding the oil or it will burp out and make a mess.

2 pointsI really don't know why you all have such a hard time with eBay. I have been buying and selling since 1998, and have bought and sold thousands of items. I have a 100% positive feedback, and have never had to leave a negative feedback for anyone. As I have stated before, check the seller's feedback before committing to buy. Anything less than 100% positive is a warning to me. If the rating is less than 100% I read through the negatives and neutrals to see what the problem is. Even if eBay has stated "case closed" you can still contact them if you still have an issue.
-
2 pointsIt will probably take a full day just retrieving everything you have already bought on the "Buy/Sell" thread!
-
2 pointsOn my '72 Raider 10 , the hood decals measure 28" at the top and 27 1/2 " on the bottom . Hope it helps ! -Gene
-
2 pointsThursday, you will have plenty time to set up, because everyone else will be setting up their campsite and vendor site at the same time...it is a good group of people, and you won't be disappointed
-
2 pointsYou can’t blame a guy for trying can you? I think I was channeling my inner used car salesman😂🤣😂!
-
2 pointsHurry on down to Crazy Dell’s, these won’t last long at this price😂🤣😂! Please feel free to ask any questions! what a sales pitch!!!! Lol 😂🤣🤪@dells68
-
2 pointsToo kind of you, Jim. It was great to finally meet up. I can't get over how clean that truck of yours is. Like I said, I have to thank Daveoman and the old owner of my '66 for all the info on the Sundstrand's. I too look forward to the meetup. Never seen more than 1 or 2 other WH's in one place, save for EB's, or my own shed... We'll see what I can get shaking in time for the event. At the moment none of my WH's really ought to move..
-
2 pointsI just read on the topic supporter membership that @Sparky answered my question, thanks much Mike.
-
2 pointsAlright, You just wait until I get a hold of it down in PA if you think that was muddy! And wasn't there a post with you take'n that ride through the back swamp after Zags?

2 pointsThey look great! Color choice is just a matter of personal preference. My tractor isn’t red so I went with black.
-
2 pointsWell the sand blasting didn't work. It's a long story. But the wire cup did pretty good. Hopefully it holds up! Regal red is a little brighter than the new Toro red but it's close enough.
