Husband and I enjoy looking at them and letting the neighbors and other people that come to our small town see them so they’re displayed on the sidewalk all in a row! Most with some sort of implement attached we’ve had people stop and admire them. Some take pictures and even visit for a while ! There a great conversation piece and what’s the point of having them if you can’t look at them and enjoy them and show them off! Thats just one side of the side walk lol!

This was the perfect time to replace the spring. I was able to reach in and get it started on the 1/4-20 stud then give it a little push with a long extension and a socket.

To those that have and continue to protect us........I cannot imagine what it would be like without you!

Knowing that the Omro car show was coming up, I decided to do something on Sunday afternoon that had been on my “to-do” list for over a decade... my Goat has 295/50/15 tires on it—much larger than stock. The car came with a pair of Gabriel air shocks that probably date from the mid 90’s. They have had leak down problems for the entire time. When I restored the car in 2000, I ran out of money to do the rear end and it has been functional for these 19 years and so I have just kept using it. Dad purchased a 1967 GTO in 2004 that needed a COMPLETE restoration and we began that immediately. We finished that in early 2006 and dad had rear tire clearance issues. He told me that he was going to install a set of air bags and I told him that I would buy a set also. We installed his a couple of weeks after they arrived and I was planning to do mine soon thereafter... RIGHT. Caleb was TWO YEARS old at that time. Yesterday, I decided that we would get at it. I helped dad install his and now Caleb would help me install mine! It took us about an hour and a half but it sure is nice to not have the car sagging down after only about 6-7 hours... It is our annual tradition to do a full detailing off the car on Sunday evening before The Memorial Day car show. The first four years I entered it, I didn’t even have children. Now I have a whole pit crew to help me prepare it... Caleb does a great job waxing and the littles detailed the rims and chrome trim. Claudia normally does the interior but she was sick this weekend... We got up early and met my parents at McD’s for breakfast. It is still surreal for me to go cruising with my parents in their Goat and my children in my Goat. It is even more surreal to think that next year Caleb can drive me to this show...It makes me feel old! The weather wasn’t great today but there were about 75-100 cars anyway and the littles were cute enough that several car owners asked them if they wanted to sit inside. Judge wore his trademark hat and was loving this two owner modified “time capsule” 1974 Camaro. He was really impressed with the chain steering wheel. Zach thought this ‘68 Camaro was pretty sweet. I just enjoyed driving my car, hanging out with my family and talking with friends. One of my Local Circle buddies Dan showed up mid morning and we had a great time talking and I got the privilege to officially meet Mrs. Achto—what a nice lady! It is always fun to swap stories with my buddies. The rain hit about 12:30pm and people scattered faster than rats from a sinking ship, us included! This afternoon, we did some more organizing around the house and have started to prepare to get ready for the work week. I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend. I am so thankful for all those men and women that have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the financial, spiritual, and unbiased freedom to enjoy the very things that we have done this weekend. If my travels abroad have taught me anything, I am thankful for all the sacrifices that have been made in this young countries history to preserve the way of life that we enjoy today. God bless the USA and especially the families of those who have shed their blood to protect our freedoms!

I decided on Sunday morning to go to the top of MT Agamenticus which is only about 40 minutes from home on the Dual Sport Bike, when I arrived at the top there were only 3 vehicles there, all employees I suspect, but many vehicles at the bottom, all hikers. This at one time I am told was a Ski area as you can see from the Pics the concrete footings under the observation deck, as well as the Ski Lodge Building now used as a nature center. The picture with the Bike is looking South towards Portsmouth N.H,the picture from the observation deck is looking Northwest towards N.H, on a clear day, no haze you can see MT Washington in N.H.Sorry for the cell towers invading space from that beautiful old Fire Tower, was not always that way up there, overall a nice ride and then back home to pick that paint brush back up and continue the task at hand. Thanks to @Sparky for the pictures of you Dad and friends suited up for a ride to the Berkshires, other wise I would have probably just started painting first thing Sunday morning.

Project creep... Anyone familiar with that? It is when a really simple job becomes a major project. I did not like the way the hood fit on my 71 Raider 10. The hood had been tweaked a few times by my Dad when he ran into things... I made new brass bushings and a new hinge pin. The hood still did not fit right, as it was a half inch too short. I redrilled the holes in the hinges and slid the hood back. Now it fit great! That is when the project creep kicked in... Now that the hood fit, The dings and dents, particularly in the grill really bothered me. So I sandblasted the hood and started the bodywork. I learned a couple of things: 1) I am not a body man, and 2), do not want to be! I have a newfound respect for those who are! I am happy with the results, considering with what I started with. I spent hours with sheet metal hammers and body dollies. This tractor was repowered with a Techy HH140 years ago, and the hood was cut then. I don’t think it looks too bad with the hood scoop. I ordered a 7” long LED light bar to replace the factory headlights, and made a new aluminum insert to accept it. I made a new Lexan cover to replace the original. The light bar has yet to arrive, but will post more pics when I get it done. Danny

So it pretty much went as planned. Grabbed a tractor on Saturday from Russ in Norwalk Ct and went on a good long motorcycle ride with my dad on Sunday. Monday’s fishing plans got screwed up when the wife and I slept in late...so we loaded up the bicycles and rode one of the local rails to trails. And to finish it off my son and his fiancé are coming over this afternoon for burgers/dogs/beer

My husband had always wanted a real tombstone weight and we traveled a long ways from us to get one and we stayed that night at a motel he parked right by the room even then he would get up at the slightest sound and check on his new found treasures!! With that said he ended up bring the weight inside the room! 😂. Sometimes I think he would be satisfied with that as his head stone in the future!!!! The next morning I convinced him we needed to by another horse we saw the night before! 1958 RJ. It didn’t take much work to convince him! The horse bug is Contagious!!

I was fortunate enough to be that lucky buyer last spring with the 315-8 w/42" deck I got for a very similar price. The seller just wanted it gone as they "upgraded" to a new green machine. I happily took the "old" Wheel Horse off his hands.

Are donuts allowed to pile the chain? Spin it up and let it fly!

Never owned one and looking forward to finding a motor for it. If anyone has an original motor, please let me know. I believe this may be a mid 50’s?

I used 0000 steel wool and Windex to clean my surfaces and then more Windex and rags to do final cleaning. Then I used a matte spray clear on it and it looked just like it did before I started, but cleaner. It wasn’t artificially shiny and it doesn’t attract dirt and still looks exactly like it did the day I applied it a couple years ago.

Been a long day today. Pictures are aren't the best. Brought this one from the the Buckeye state (Ohio). I know everyone loves guessing what it is. Got home from work, Left here at around 8:15 got home around 1 then went to bed.

Good for you! Father daughter bonding is wonderful! My 12 year old plays around on the horses in our herd and has put a clam on a few! In fact she is going to do the painting on the newest horse! I am with everyone else do like she wants which you are, lol. I am just glad when I can get her away from electronics and get her outside with me! Proud moments having her at my side...

I hope he or she shows up here too! Anyone here go rustling in Chesaning this weekend?

@Brandon357! As you can see, we like to chime in when you need help. Help spending money, help bench racing, help laughing, etc. We are pretty fond of tractors too!

If you lube it - you run the risk of it running away even more than usual. The nylon cam is designed to lubricate itself - so no grease needed. Sarge

As it is her Birthday month thought i would share a picture of my Ranger at work. Father bought her in May of 67. With the exception a 2 years in the early 90s when father was ill she has worked every year of her life and for the last 18 winter and summer. Last year the garden did poorly things near drowned and as this year has started wet I wanted to get a bit of a raised bed. Not sure I want pressure treated chemicals and cedar is hugely expensive. The recent wind storm tipped over a bunch aspen trees. They are not good for fuel and they will rot in a few years but the price was right...free. Ranger hauled the logs in and is now transporting topsoil (or what passes for it around here). Had to stop as there is a T-storm approaching again...

Mowed with the C-120 for the first time with its rebuilt K321. I'm conflicted whether or not I should call it a C-140 now. It mowed fine (other than needing new blades) and the engine still sounded fine afterwards so hopefully I put it together correctly. Here's a pic afterwards with it running. The engine doesn't match, but oh well.

Started my father daughter project yesterday. Got the transmission painted this morning The before picture...it was a well “loved” 702.....the transmission was so full of water that it was leaking out the seals pretty good. Got that yellow oily water mess out of it.....my daughter picked the colours....tractor pink rims and engine are going purple. She’s 6 so I’m glad she’s taken an interest in this hobby

I spaced mine 1/2" away from the frame on each side to keep it from infering with the mule drive.

NOS parts from my dad's closed dealership; most of the stuff that I'll be posting is the last of what he had in inventory. Got the deck and some other stuff back from powdercoating, stay tuned.

Cleaned and refurbished all the spindles, stripped and refinished the brackets and the deck/ mule drive pulleys, all new hardware.

@76c12091520h, may I suggest you become a supporter so 1) you are helping keep the lights on here at RS, 2) unlimited uploading of your restoration pics/vids...its a small price to pay... for all you get sharing and receiving great info for our little red tractors.

Hi All I am almost done with this project there are a few details left. I just order the PTO knob and new throttle and choke handles and I need to figure out how to clamp the end of my throttle cable correctly. The engine started well but the governor is running at to high of RPMs maybe just a adjustment?. Here are the latest Pics.

Got the belt today I overhauled the deck with new spindle bearings , pulleys and had it powder coated to match the Tractor
