Hello everyone. I’ve just got hold of a b80 4 speed. It’s the first one I’ve had after looking for one for a few years. Engine well and all gears work ok but the clutch doesn’t seem right. It didn’t seem to engage properly. When I lifted of the pedal bit did engage when the pedal was pushed all the way down. However I think I’ve damaged the belt by doing this. It must have rubbed on something. Can the clutch pedal be adjusted or could it just be an old stretched belt that’s causing the problem? Heres a picture of the old lass. cheers everyone

The brand is always the subject of debate.Single weight or multiweight is as well.One thing is not so much.Since these single cylinder aircooled engines have no oil filter, change the oil at 20 hour intervals.Hour meters are worth the trouble and expense to install.

If you have some alligator clip bite jumpers hook one end to the battery + and the utter to the coil + and give it a try. That bypasses all the safety switches and any old wiring issues.

Just got a text from my friend who has my rj35 hood saying he was going to be dropping off tomorrow morning. Exciting since he has had it for 10 months to do some body work to it. Thankfully we have both been busy and I havent had time to finish my 35. The hoods the last critical piece I need to put it all together minus the pulley with the friction disk. I will need to prime and paint it but I'm happy with that.

I try to use Rotella straight 30. I'm by no means an expert. Just what I do.

Change 2 Seats. Because my last Seattime with my Beast i got some bumps in my Back. So i decided to Change the Seat with a Damped one. Therefore i must drill few holes, then the Seat fits. looks nice and the Seatfeeling is perfect. After that i have it’s Seat as spare, but what shall i do with it - hum, The Seat on my Horse is also Strongly worn, so i changed it to the spare, Therefore i keep the Springs for good Seattime and make 2 mounting plates to Fit the Seat to the Horse. the Seat feeling was unusal but not Bad. a bit more space for the feets make it more comfortable while using and also i get a bit more Weight on the Rearaxle. After that i do a testride and mow arround the House. That was the best issue, because of the aslant way... the Grip was much better and also sideway driving is better. After that i changed to the Beast and drove about 2h trip thru the Forrest, later a bit onroad... I enjoyed this Seattime, also at harder Offroad, because i got no beatings in the back. Even if the way is realy bumpy. so far both operations was a Success.

I have figured out that the previous owner has bypassed the PTO safety switch so the starter will work. I will replace or adjust that switch later to eliminate the bypass wire. He also had a block of wood under the seat to activate the seat safety switch so no butt is required. Now that the points and plug are cleaned I have good spark. I removed and cleaned the Walbro carb. It looked good inside. The fuel pump works great. When I removed the fuel line from the bottom of the gas tank, under the seat, the grommet disentegrated. It was leaking badly already. I will have to rig up a temporary tank until I can, I hope, find a replacement grommet. I found the head bolts were not as tight as the should be so I "snugged them down a bit. I didn't have a torque wrench handy and I didn't remove the head because I don't have a new gasket on hand. I hope the gasket will reseal at least till I can see if this engine will run, or not. I hope it checks out. The more I look at this C-85 the more I like it and would like to restore it, if the mechanicals all check out.

I got to start getting out the hard stuff. Too many woodworkers out there. Care to provide tools actual name?

Another option if it doesn't work to fix it and you want to use a different tank like @19richie66 would be to cut out the front portion of the tank and mount it to the nose, then put a different tank in behind it. That way it would still look original from the outside. Just a thought. Randy

Maybe he was using it to storm something, and someone else was doing the shooting. Maybe the farmer caught him coming for the daughter.

Before you go replacing parts, do you own a multimeter? If you don't, invest in one. Check to see if you're getting power to the coil. It isn't uncommon for 40+ year old things to have wiring problems.

Great looking tractor!! You might want to get the little one some more appropriate clothing though.

I still use some tools like those pattern making ones when I recreated a part for our Wheel Horses, but for forming the part out of clay or wax.

If you had the tat put on your butt think of all the seat time you could get with out burning any gas.

This may not be a good tool to keep around wife when she is mad at you.

Love the horse tat! I have a few tattoos thought about doing a wheelhorse one on the back of my calf. and a deere one on my forearm. and put my late dads name in the tattoos. All my tats have meaning and are close to my heart. I have my biological last name on the inside of one arm and my adopted name on the other inside of my arm. and a buck doe heart tattoo on my ring finger cause my work got bought out and cant where rings even tho i sit in an office(bullcrap). and a geco on a tree branch with my youngest daughters name underneath.

Look up plastic welding on here. Several folks have had good luck using zip ties as their filler material and blending it with the original plastic to create a permanent repair. I’m with @pullstart on using some good epoxy and fiberglass cloth. I’ve done it myself on plastic and it creates an extra level of insurance after you repair the plastic.

BTW, Mrs. K worked as a cedar wrapper in one of the factories for a short time in the mid 60s. I smoked all the seconds that didn't pass inspection. This little cigar box tool was used by and given to me by Mrs Ks Grandmother and is priceless as are the carpenters tools from her Grandfather.
