10 pointsOur family has had a rash of deaths this year... I believe between my wife and I we’ve lost 6 family members in as many months. Various ages and causes, but still each one hard in their own way. Today my wife woke me up to tell me that she had to go to the hospital, her great aunt believed that her grandma was having a stroke. She’s currently stable, but is being admitted. Apparently she shows signs of having had a stroke but their still not 100% certain. She’s 69 years old. Later this morning, my FIL will go in to have his prosthesis replaced so that he can eat and talk properly (throat cancer survivor). It’s a routine out patient procedure, but so was the biopsy he he’d years ago that ended in an emergency treachyectomy. Today would’ve also been my father’s 55th birthday. I lost him 15 years ago, and then 55 seemed old, but today when I actually thought “Dad would’ve been 55” my first thought was “That’s still so young.” Today is going to be hard. I ask that today, if you will, please keep me and mine in your thoughts. Thank you all in advance, I wouldn’t have taken the time to ask if I knew you guys wouldn’t pull through for me.

10 pointsNot exactly new, bought from @wheelhorseman at last years show. Put the hitch on awhile back....and yesterday I finally flipped the ball on one of my draw bars so I could move my boat. The drawbar is a 5-1/4” drop which when flipped gave me about 18” to the top of the ball. Went with a 1-7/8” ball since it’ll work for my 2” hitch equipped trailers as well. Pics of course...

7 pointsHi after my introduction i dessided to make a new topic for those who are interested to see what i am up to with the horses. i have 2 a416-8 wich i keep pretty original to do clean work, mowing and towing stuff he is allready in decent shape but has its issues.. so i will make thisone up to a normal tractor in good shape original with a little touch the otherone is a 1136 the younger, and little brother.. thisone is also in pretty good shape but the engine 11hp is now a vanguard 15hp, and i am planning to build it 4*4 for doing trails in the forrests. i am not always working on the horses so it an take a while 🙃 I also have an old mtd for my girlfriend She can not handle a real tractor 😋😜🤪 When i bought the 416 .. minus the batteryweightblock at the front And the tires rear Every trailer it hauls is self made based on what i see on real tractors The battery house made of tough steel plates , the hood repainted with original stickers, removed the parts to open it and changed bu some new more quitly.. and offcourse added supports for led lights , the original are 2* 55watt to much so i have mounted led positionlights vehind the yellow plates next updates are mowing deck and bigger tires

6 pointsIt's the Hethersgill Vintage Club annual rally this Sunday. Held at Carlisle airport, Cumbria, England. I've been helping with setting things up today and ferrying trailer loads of equipment and auction items, stored at the farm. 7am start and finally home at 7pm. After a quick bite to eat I loaded my tractors. Taking all four. Another 7am start and not home till some time Sunday night. All being well, I should have some photo's when I get home.

6 pointsbeen wanting a sprayer to spray my 3/4 acre yard for some time now .looked at the ones that TSC has but couldn't justify the price . my dad b ought one years ago and for what they are they are cheaply made . my dad got this 35 gallon tank and 2.1 gpm pump from the county hwy. dept. when he retired they decomisioned his old plow truck they used this tank and pump to spray additive onto the salt as it come out the back of truck. he gave it to me couple yrs ago and i finaly built me a sprayer . was in rural king couple week ago and they had a spray boom kit for fifty bucks included boom nozzles hose preasure regulator manafold what a deal that was buy it all seperate for 3 times that amont. I've got about 70 bucks in this setup and it sprays 7 foot swath just as good or better than the 300 dollar ones you buy at TSC.

5 pointsToday was the auction of the large equipment. Tomorrow is small items and garden tractors.

5 pointsGet some 2" tube and weld up a couple of others hitches one to fit your yard trailer and one for a clevis to use with a chain to drag or pull things. It's a lot easer to change then the Wheel Horse hitch.

4 pointsHere is a few picks of what I found today. The shot with the oil drain was leaking very bad I know bad shot. So I have what they call Seal All. Resists gas and oil. So far no leaks. It never surprises me how things happen to these fine tractors. Not sure about the tranny with the shaft sticking out? I have never seen this. Any info is welcome.

4 pointsStill can’t drive a car, when tried, reaction time is too slow. Can do most things now, I just get tired quickly. Have been working in our workshop, casting now, just slower than before and no strength. We buy milk in 1/2 gal. bottle now, can’t lift an 8# gal. bottle of milk. I want to get better much faster; P/T’s say I’m doing very well with progress.

4 pointsEB, BBT was your roadie! It’s funny how good women pop into our lives.... I met mine while she was smoking the tires off her V8 S-10. I just wanted to know more about her truck!

4 pointsNo no... Quite calm in fact. But the visual made me chuckle!! Hahahahahahahaha I'd just like to clarify that the idea was her own. I can't keep her sitting still for nothing. @953 nut I was carrying the materials from the front of the house to the back and she just automatically joins in on the fun. I showed her how I pick it up and she didn't have the arm span and modified hauling method as needed. @cafoose excellent visual aid!! @wallfish good eye. That's a vapor recovery and radon evacuation system installed after the oil event. For those that haven't heard... We had a major oil spill in the cellar this past February. Quite a bit of work was accomplished by several different agencies. All cleaned up with some testing left to do. Remodel of about 1/2 the basement done. Workout and workshop space expanded. Wasn't exactly fun but the area is much more open and user friendly now. @Daddy Don I have no idea how I got this lucky. I was focused on being "me" for awhile and hiking and leading hikes and trips. She showed up a few times so we just stayed together.

3 pointsHello everyone, I've been reading the forum for a few months or so and finally decided it was time to say hello. I've had a love for Wheel Horse tractors since I was young and my father had one. I've never really had a need for one until recently when my wife and I bought our first home. So the search began and I found myself a 1995 520H that was in pretty rough shape but everything that was important (engine, hydro) seemed to work. Anyway... The "restoration" has begun and I have to say I'm pretty excited. I'll post some pictures of how it looked when I got it and I'll throw some pictures of what I've done so far over on the restoration side of the forum. Thanks everyone for all the great information! Matt

3 pointsLoosen the hub set-screws and move those hubs out to be flush with the end of the axle. All ya need is a 9/16 closed wrench and a 3/8 open end wrench

3 pointsI got a channel in early 2011 when I started doing "How to Transmission" videos. One of the best things I've ever done...and what a hobby. I just added up the views and it totaled 53,576 views. That, to me, is humbling and amazing at the same time. What a ride these horses are...and Thank You to You-Tube and Red Square. My channel is listed in my signature.

3 pointsI was going to chime in on the rifle accessory - but figured that one wasn't fair, lol. I'll have to think about it and do some digging later on today. Most likely an old tool, hmmm.... Sarge
-
3 pointsThanks, I caught up on some memories with 10 good friends. A very large gobbler did put on a show of strutting and answering my calls for 1 hour and 50 minutes. I was enjoying the show so much, I forgot I was there to bring home the turkey. He eventual got tired of the game and walked away.
-
3 pointsI've got that one. But I'm going to let others go for it. Maybe somebody can break in and cut to the chase..
-
3 pointsThat’s all I can do is imagine..... I’m stuck smelling everyone’s farts down here

3 pointsI used to tell people my mom (4’10”) was “the Treasurer for the Lollipop Guild, but next years she’s gunna run for Secretary “😂

3 pointsSo if someone’s coming to your place to pick up a WH part your selling what do ya say? “Its the third white house on the left...I mean brown house...wait, it’s the third orange house....oh never mind Ill wait out by the mailbox for ya!”
-
3 pointsThe 4*4 will be on the 1136 Cause the whole drive train must be converted.. i am waiting at someone who sells an axle if he makes a good price i will make 😇
-
3 pointsJust like any others..... they can be good or junk, all depends on how the previous owner(s) took are of it..... or not. I have a 123, the first hydro IH Cub Cadet made back in 1966. It is a great machine that I am waffling back and forth about selling.... I REALLY like it, but don't really need it.
-
3 pointsEric, one of these days you need to do the work and let Trina use the camera,,,,,,though she is more photogenic!
-
3 pointsApparently it wasn’t windy that day. Imagine a strong gust comes along and ...well...

2 pointsTractor Supply has a universal kit that may work for you. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/arnold-universal-throttle-control-kit The metal jacket on the cable screws into your throttle lever and the other end can be trimmed to the desired length and a "Z" bend made.
-
2 pointsThat’s a limited edition “Sanford and Sons Special”, interestingly enough: in mint condition. Only known one left in existence.
-
2 pointsThat's one fine looking garden Jim. I won't be posting any pics of mine....you set the bar way too high.
-
2 pointsYou can leave the flag on the lift mechanism.I tie it to deck lift with a tie wrap or copper wire.I always encourage this practice on any WH newer than the c120 as it is a royal PITA to get to the lift system on the newer machines.Welcome! Hope you get what you need from the great folks here. They really do like to help!

Luckily my Mom winn‘s the race again the Cancer for now more as 8 Years, yes she‘s survived, and shall be health, but a bittersweet smell to me is allway‘s happen at these day‘s. Sent you some mental force to withstand all worse influences.

2 pointsIf it runs well, cuts good and drives nicely there should be several decades of dependable mowing left. Ask about service records, look at the oil on the dip sticks, engine and transmission. To me the price may be on the high side, but not at all unreasonable. the 312-8 will last a lot longer than a $ 900.00 Big Box store mower.
-
2 pointsDang well i wont be plowing or mowing with this puppy buuuut at 150 it might be a great foundation for a custom im dying to build
-
2 pointsThat would be Home Depot, where my favorite Cashier Jackie ever rags on everybody just the same. She’s an equal opportunity heckler. Plus she’s next to the free coffee.

2 pointsThe 127 was the last hydrostatic narrow frame Cub Cadet. The 129s were wide frame. For me, the Cub Cadet hydros were hard to get used to as things are opposite on a Cub Cadet from, say a Wheel Horse or a John Deere, both of which I have owned hydro tractors. The hydro control lever is on the left, not the right, and the lift levers are on the right, not the left (Wheel Horses and John Deeres have the hydro controls on the right and the lift levers on the left). The Cub Cadets of the 60s era were tough, durable, and heavily built. All of the tractor was made of steel, no plastic, except some control levers, seats, and steering wheel, etc. They used an automotive type steering gear, as did John Deere, and not the sector type that Wheel Horse uses. To accommodate the drive train, the steering wheel was offset a bit from center. Engine points were set down in the frame a bit, so hard to get to the bottom screws on some models. The 12 hp tractors, like the 127, had 2 gallon fuel tanks, while the 10 hp models, like a 107, had a one gallon tank. Starter generators were backwards from a Wheel Horse and a John Deere due to how the engine was sitting in the tractor to accommodate the drive shaft design. Carburetors are on the left side of the engine, not the front like a Wheel Horse. The hydrostatic tractors had a tow lever on the console which had to be engage to push the tractor, and in my experience, you had to have pulled back the whole time you were pushing the tractor which made it hard to push by hand. BTW, I had a few CCs in my day.

2 pointsI have a NOS Carquest brand one here that's yours for the price of the freight or I'll bring to Athol in a month or so... BUT..... I don't actually use or recommend them for MOST applications. The elements don't normally reach far enough into the oil pool to work properly and in fact can get and stay TOO HOT. Thereby cooking the oil. Best bet for heating a Kohler is a stick on type. @squonk I think? Had some info on them. Another alternative to that is just the old fashioned incandescent bulb under the engine and a blanket over it. The manual recommends using 10w-30 below freezing. Many of us use it year round with no issues.

2 pointsI just bought another vehicle and decided to run the Carfax on it. The dealer had posted the competitor, Autocheck, so it was an interesting comparison. Both actually read the same with minimal maintenance and repair info. The real value was from insurance value showing a "clean" title, and where the history of where the vehicle was registered. Most vehicles today are sold at auction rather than sold as clean trade-ins. For example, one of the vehicles that I was considering here in VA came from Upstate NY. It was noted to have had rustproofing applied. Bells going off in my head as I had to replace the rusted brake lines on my truck (manufacturers had lowered the nickel content) that was originally from PA that applies brine as a pre-treatment. GM should have been forced into a recall! Today's vehicles have thankfully a different metal formulation. With so many vehicles being caught in flooded areas recently, that would be another reason. I did pop for the three reports at $60.00 and ran our other two vehicles. There was more previous owner info on my 18-year old truck (which I already knew) than my information as i only used an independent for major work. Our other vehicle was purchased new and while under warranty, maintained by the dealer. That was lacking as well. I do keep files of receipts, etc. but only private parties would be interested in that. Last year after our move was over, I tried using my truck as a trade-in. The dealer was upfront and said they would just take it to auction to be sold at a gravel-lot dealership - but really didn't want it due to age. It only has 64K miles!

2 pointsSounds good to me...I have seen a few comments on youtube that credit the oil bath filters for aiding in the longevity of these older motors. Not sure if true or not. Thanks for your input on the subject.

2 pointsGive the laziest man the toughest job and he'll find the easiest way to do it. Do I spot a radon mitigation system? I see them everywhere now that I install them. Never really noticed them before

2 pointsHaving fun using my C120 beautifully restored Wheelhorse. Wow what an amazing cut with the deck that Richard did such an amazing job on. Love the way that it does such a clean cut without leaving cut lines. Thanks again Richard. Wonderful machine.

2 pointsIf a site is caught, Deere Legal will send them a cease and desist email, warning legal action may be taken if the manuals aren't removed. They don't pay anyone to obey the law. Be warn, some of the manuals you get off ebay and other sites are copies, and are illegal. You can sell used manuals, but you can not copy a manual and then sell the copy. Again, copyright laws are very strict and Deere isn't the only company that will come after anyone who violates the law.

2 pointsI've used the parts diagrams on vendor sites like Partstree for a little guidance...oh, um, did i just admit I have something that green color.
