This is for Scottie Have you ever needed a part for your tractor that was just a little better like a tie rod, or even that very hard to find part like the pulley system for a rear mounted tiller? Who do you go to for help? When I needed a cover for a sickle bar mower, I had no luck, I tried finding it on eBay and in the RedSquare classifieds. I put out a feeler to see who may have one and within an hour Lowell PM'd me. He didn't have one so he MADE one for me, not only made it perfectly but drilled and tapped the screw holes AND sent along with it 4 stainless steel fasteners! You all know exactly what I am talking about, because I see it all the time, someone looking for something hard or maybe even impossible to find and you send them to Lowell. This is because Lowell and his wife Joette along with their son's Travis, Bryan and Scott (Scottie) have the reputation as being there when you need them and getting you fixed up and running again without hassle. Additionally, they are just a wonderful family to be around. Then a parent's worst fear happened, Scottie, their youngest son, has suffered serious injuries in an very unfortunate accident. I'm sure that most of you have been following his story right here on RedSquare and know the extent of Scott's injuries as well as his journey to recovery, if not see the flyer below. I am also sure that you all know how expensive this journey can be. Now it's our turn to help Lowell, Joette and their family as they have helped us. The Scholljegerdes family is offering special "Team Scott" t-shirt's as well as sweatshirts, hoodies and a limited number of Wheel Horse mat's. These items are for sale to benefit Scott's recovery effort and can be ordered by downloading and completing this form: Scott's Recovery Benefit Order Form There are instructions within the form where to send checks or to donate via PayPal. If using PayPal, you will need to email the completed order form to ScottsRecoveryBenefit@hotmail.com along with your PayPal donation. Please be sure to indicate the email address used in your PayPal so they can properly put your order together. Your item will be available for pickup at the Wheel Horse Collectors Club 2019 Big Show in June. Please note that due to WHCC rules, there will be NO sales of any shirts at the show You may still purchase items which Lowell and his family always bring to the show as usual however. If you absolutely can not make the show your item *can* be shipped to you, but please note that shipping costs will need to be added to the order since this is a fundraiser activity. What if I don't need or want another shirt or hoodie? Just donate, send a check along with a note to the address in the order form or a donation via PayPal donation. Or even something as simple as a get well card, or something special from your neck of the woods to cheer Scottie up would be appreciated as well. You can send cards and other gifts directly to Scott at his home address (click here) Lowell and his family deeply appreciate your prayers, kind thoughts, notes and gifts and are humbled by the generosity of the community and wish to express their sincerest gratitude for your continued support!

Saw this on C/L the other day. Always wanted one so I called about it, He said to bring a big trailer cause the last guy showed up and was ready to buy it when it wouldn't fit on the trailer he wanted to use to haul it with to mow yards. His loss my gain. I went and looked at it. He claimed the motor was rebuilt in 03, which he paper work that said motor rebuild $ 1300.00 but no description of what was done. He said that it probably only has about a hundred hours on it since the rebuild. It started up fairly easy, might have an issue with the starter, no smoke or noise. I'm still trying to figure out the sticks, it ain't easy to get it to go straight with any amount of speed, especially when the sticks aren't quite even. I've always wanted a 24 hp Onan. I was surprised to see that the motor wasn't a P224, it was a T260. 2 for the number of cylinders and 60 for the cubic inch displacement. It had a fuel leak at the fuel filter which I replaced the fuel filter and cut some of the rubber lines to eliminate. He said that it had a fuel leak at the gas tank, but I haven't seen any signs of one. I need to do a complete service on it and sharpen or replace the blades on it before using it. I'm hoping to use it as my main mower this season. The good thing is it is a Wheel Horse or at least in name, so I'm still using a horse to mow my yard LOL ERIC J

This is what I use on roots. They hold up well and are long enough to get to the roots underneath.

I use same thing... Chain saws are not designed for ground contact. High potential to do saw harm and not safe. These are cheap and much safer...

I also do some tying, my wife will ask how many flies does it take to catch a fish? My answer at least one more.
  13. 3 points
Well, that sounds like a male's description, but I'm assuming a lot of the stuff you are referring to your wife probably has much more attachment to than you do, and I'm betting she wouldn't take kindly to her hubby's description of the loaded personal property. Tread carefully there, Tater Trimble!!! Idaho is a long way away from upstate New York on foot.

I knew I had too much crap but never in my wildest thoughts did I think we had enough to fill this monster. Especially since we are taking no appliances and my V-Nose is full with tractors and flammables.

Guys, here's a few shots of the table as a before, in progress, after. This table is 42" Square in these photos. There are 6 leaves I think? It expands out to around 7 feet in length. She used a palm type electric sander for the whole surface and hand sanded whatever else it wouldn't reach including all six legs. I really have almost no idea how many hours she had into this but as you are all well aware once she gets something in her head, it's going to get finished. This table sat under a 4 by 8 foot piece of 3/4 plywood for probably 15 years just used as a storage shelf. The surface stain you see in the foreground was the result of something like acetone or lacquer thinner or whatever ... a couple decades ago. Here's a couple of progress shots And of course the final result

If blending new and old radiuses (spelling?) is the most challenging part, I’m golden from here on out! The Charger 12 guard has about an 1/8” radius, the 753 piece is closer to 1/4”. I built it up a bit and ground it in. When I skim the part, it should clean up real nice.

Steve, as as much fun as it would be, I don’t think Elgin is going to be a good spot to stop due to minimum distances I need to drive per day. I hope to get back for a Wisconsin or Indiana show next year though. And I may get back to the Show in PA. As part of a business trip. Just won’t have any tractors in tow.

Lowell and our family take pride in the craftsmanship and quality of our products and we continue our quality in our sweatshirts that we are offering for Scott's Recovery Benefit. Our sweatshirts have a cool design to them as they are embroidered and also have an appliqué uniquely intertwined together. Please know that the sweatshirts run a little large, so if you would usually take an x-Large a Large would probably work. The image that we have shown below is an example of how the (tackel twill) embroidering and appliqué are used together in our image. Please keep in mind that is a sample only.

Not if you stop to actually look at everything! Glad to see you're coming Lane! @Lane Ranger I have no doubt you'll have a great time and that trailer will have other treasures on the return trip. I'll be sure to stop by and say hi!

That's quite a compliment for her in particular because she's the one that spent roughly three weeks refinishing it. I may have done a thread about that a year or two ago. I can't remember. somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred years old or a little bit more. Surface was horrifically damaged so the antique value was long gone. She spent dozens of hours sanding and sanding and sanding and several coats of whatever it was...

I plugged one of my mounting holes, but the drill bit must have walked a little and was off center from the original. It’s smooth enough now, that I think I’ll be able to mark my hole and redrill it.... of course with the help of a center punch

Mowed the lawn and when I came out to finish after supper, the throttle cable broke. All in all it was a good day as the 1056 did a good job with the engine out for a first test with plenty of power. This tractor only cost a shade over a c note

It sure is , they work well on roots . The real big stumps will be the problem getting them out of the ground.

Check the wires behind the dash. I've seen them wear through and short out.

I think they are called hackamore bits? They’re easier on the horses mouth.

Hi there, i ain‘t suceeded with my new Frontlight - why? they point not straight the way while driving. once they swallowing a bit and what is more irritating - one looks a bit stronger to the Left than the other also, thats the reason i decided today, to rework that by remove complete the old mountingpoints and reworke them. Started by disassembled the whole Frontmask. ing the background the Old mountpoints are visible. with dismounted Front, i remove the mountings and build 2 small new mountpoints one for each light additionally. Made from Aluminum and painted blach, to prevent light irritation. didnt actually connect the standlights, because i have allready the extended posi lights. Then i repaint the whole frontmask, because i didn‘t like the Yellow- galvanized screws. the result looks much better... As next issue i try to find the trouble, while fuelpump dribbs. after dismounted the Injectionline, i loosen the Fuelpumpconnector. and found the reason..... one gasket - an simple o- ring was brittle . changed it to an new gasket and remount everything. After a half hour testdrive nothing more is sweat and the Fuelpump works better. also fire up is much better and quicker, what is now clear why. Simple work, massive improvement. easy going. then i started for the next project, the additional Gaspedal. I mounted a stiffer spring and exchange the Lever by a Bowden. additionally i mounted an old Pedal, i found as Gaspedal. now im able, to increase gas by Footpedal while engine needed like in a Car. much simpler to deal with than only with Handgas, a 2hour Testdrive in the Woods shows, that all works perfect so far. finally i mounted a Main Fuse for the whole Power with 50 Amps to protect cables. Attached is via separate Fuses ( preglow, light, brake, light, warnlights, flashers...)

I spent the better part of today working up the garden at Dad’s and planting potatoes with him. When I got home, I used a paint removal wheel and cleaned up the donor seat pan and gave it a coat of etching primer. Sorry, no pics. I also cut two replacement foot rest pads from some rubber matting I had ordered, since there are no replacements available. This week I managed to source new taillights, headlights, ignition switch, and ribbed tires and tubes for the front. I hope to paint the fender pan this week so I can begin reassembly. Hopefully more progress this week.

Well these have really really been a lot of startup work. Trying to figure out how to make the designs in the back. I havent gotten around to start on the seat yet . Making the finish patterns so I can cut the pieces the same size. I did try to make these as close to the original as I could. Most will not even realize there knockoffs. I finally found the right piping 1/8" @953 nut wanted it on the others but I just found someone with it. (Very hard to sew this 1/8) Well I still have some tweaking to do on the cutting but it's coming along pretty good. I made this one and it's for sale for $1000.00 with all the hours, materal and work in it. WHAT NO TAKERS ???? Well I guess I'll put it on my c160. I've only had 3 days warm enough to work in my garage plus I have a cold making it very hard now to breathe in the cold air. Well anyways here's what I got so far.
