Well I got the birthday present I ordered for myself today! As always another great job by the @Vinylguy

You stink Mike. Of course I hope you realize I mean that in the MOST KIND possible manner.

Here are some photos of what I understand are original front wheels and tires on a 1955 RJ-35. The wheels were two piece but had six spot welds and the tires were Schenuits. The front wheel on this RJ 35 is unusual also. Not sure if it is original but has two part wheel that is bolted together.

I mowed my yard again tuesday and finished painting one end of the house yesterday. Today I have to trim some trees.

It’s actually cold here for San Diego. After work I decided to take a walk down at Mission Beach. Won’t be taking a swim! No sun and air temp was 64 degrees...the Pacific Ocean was 58 🥶

Its a tough job...but when the boss says I have to work in San Diego for 10 days I have no choice ....gotta earn my WH Show spending money!

The other indicator on the difference with the RJ 35 front wheels and even some very early 58's had them is the minimal "lip" at the tire. The newer wheels had a bigger lip. The other option was a two piece wheel used on the very early 35's. They are bolted together. Check out Vin's RJ posts or his you tube channel to see them. VINSRJ is his you tube channel.

What I like about the 44" Agri-Fab is when you raise the brush that is all you are raising. I added a linear actuator so never have to leave the seat. Raise the brush to go to the dump pile and when you get back just lower the brush until you hear it hitting the grass or just enough to sweep. Too much brush pressure is what destroys them. Garry

So this week we were back working on the C 195 dually setup now complete, and the 72" in Wheel Horse snow blade is just about done below are a few pictures of the extensions of the plow it originally was a 54 inch wheel horse blade which is now 72" can't wait to get it in action

Been outside painting the house. Last week I got in my truck and it was 103* inside. 93* the day after. Yesterday it was 43 when I got to work with a high of 62. Crazy weather down here also. I sat down to drink some coffee a minute ago and heard my A/C kicked on.

Very nice trailer Eric. I priced my little 12’ to a friend today at $1200. I honestly think that is pretty fair, as I’ve tried to take good care of it and it’s in good shape. The same trailer dealer has basic car haulers for only $100 more than the 16’ utility with stake pockets down the sides. I might go that route so I could haul our farm tractors or vehicles easier. Guess I’ll have to go look, hopefully sometime in the next week or so. Here are some pics of my current 12’ and the basic car hauler.

Was wondering that as I was reading... but figured he was busy working on a big move somehow... In my my past experience, Richie was a great WH host in FL! I bet visiting him would be cheaper that trying to transport his heat!

That is awesome! My wife can't change a light bulb. That would be sweet to take stuff apart, fix it and then have her put it back together'. Anything wrong would always be her fault too! Win Win in my book. LoL

IMO you made the right choice to overhaul. New vs. “Seasoned” Blocks It used to be that no self-respecting performance enthusiast would consider using a new block. This wasn’t simply a matter of money. New blocks just didn’t make as much power as well seasoned used blocks. Engine blocks, like football quarterbacks, get better with age. In the case of a block casting, countless cycles of heating up and cooling down help to “season” the metal. When a block is first cast and then machined on the assembly line, it develops internal stresses. The heating/cooling cycle allows these stresses to “relax,” until finally the block becomes dimensionally stable. In the opinion of many top ranked racers, an engine does not achieve maximum power output until it has been honed three or four times; it takes that long for the cylinder bores to settle down and hold the perfectly round shape that promotes a “tight” ring seal.

Painting, staining type stuff is not my thing at all. Suck at it probably because it's something I never look forward to do. Not much experience coloring wood except for some staining here and there. Plus I don't have any products to use. Dick has all the stuff to do it and experience with wood so he can do whatever he wants from a beat up old patina look to a shiny new trailer queen paint job, or turn it into a Disco Ball. We'll have to wait and see. The pine is so much easier, so wondering if some jigs could be made to streamline the process and eventually I can do more. It's the curve shaping that takes time and the hood grill with all of the curves in different directions is the toughest. Sand one part and it effects another so it's difficult to keep somewhat symmetrical and not over sand it too small.

Have you checked for excess air being sucked in around a worn throttle shaft or a bad carb/block gasket? Spray some WD 40 around these areas and note if it affects the RPM.

The trick to roller chain if at all possible get the 2 ends on the side of one of the sprockets and the teeth on the sprocket hold the chain for you while you install the master link.

It can tow a boat! a new truck is at least 40G's!

check out Appalachian trailers, I bought a 10,000 lb 20 foot trailer a couple of years ago now, out the door for less than $ 4000.00. Now I know that's more then you want to spend, but , I can haul almost anything I want to on that trailer. It's 84" between the fender, so I can haul 2, 520's side beside on it. i can fit 7 long frames on it also. I've hauled my Dodge mini vans on it also. Just open the side door to get out of the van lol. The problem comes in when I go to rustle more horses it would be nice to have a 12' or 14' trailer to make easier to get around with in peoples drive ways. i can buy an Appalachian 14 foot trailer out the door with brakes and a spare tire for less or then $ 2000. They are well built trailers. The only problem I had with my 20' trailer was that the rear marker lights were mounted under the rear bumper. knocked them of with in 2 weeks of buying the trailer, remounted the lights to the bumper. I hauled tractors with my open trailer for years and it got to much to strap tractors down on it to make sure they didn't go anywhere, plus the deck wasn't wide enough to haul one 520 and a 300 series side beside. 2 300 series barely fit side beside on the deck. I have never regretted buying my Appalachian trailer. Around here used trailer bring close to as much as a new one. good luck with your decision on another trailer eric j

I love this place, don’t get me wrong. I only made the Facebook page to gather together owners of my favorite tractors into one place(with others that are not on here.... yet😁). While I love many different tractors, these are my favorite. A lot of the guys on there are not members here but I try to tell as many on there about this place when they are looking for info or help. Just trying to keep up and learn a thing or two.

I bought a new Brinly almost 20 years ago....before the price of a sweeper got insane. It performs great; no complaints at all. On top of that, I've never replaced a single part on it. Yup, I'm very pleased with it.

Looks like a home-made version of item #14. The original tractor did not have this but has been upgraded to a newer style of deck which requires it Garry.

It is a bit crusty. Should buff out! Seriously, typical of a motor that has set for a long time.

This tool makes installing a chain real easy https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/-40-to-50-roller-chain-puller/A-p8105827e One of the pictures shows how it is used. The horseshoe shaped retaining clip that secures the master link should have the rounded end facing the direction of chain travel. A chunk of ice can push the clip off if it is on the other way around. Garry

i believe it is lead . I apologize for the Yellow ,I bought it that way some years ago and got lazy . I think I am selling it and will probably leave the wheels yellow , it might help one of those misguided folks from the green side transition over slowly to the correct path .
