We had a nice little thaw this past week and that made for some nice little ruts in the driveway. We have another significant snow storm coming in 2 days so I decided to scrape down the driveway a little bit. I would like to say thanks again to @Herder Adam for getting this grader and sending it to me. I assembled the grader using the owner's manual. Removed the snow plow from the 1267. Hung the grader under that and off I went..... Here's a few pics of the grader and tractor and a before and after of the driveway.

Mrs Rules would never give me something like that, knows darn well I'd parlay that little episode into another(new) tractor.

It's like a regular comedy show down there ED! I wanna here Mrs. K's side of "how the crazy old coot leaves his tools in the oven"

Ed If tried to sell them really cheap someone would really have to think how hot are this tools!

Ed, I don't think you will need to put your name on those tools when working on a group project, nobody is going to claim them anyway!

As most of you are aware we just started using implements here on our acreage only in the past 3 months since we decided to try a plow for snow. I've read multiple times about how quick and easy it is thanks to the Pond family to change implements from one to another. Remove Dozer / snow plow. Four pins, two levers, one bolt. Install mid-mount grader. Two pins. Now all that said. That absolutely DOES NOT MEAN that I have any intention of swapping implements because I fully believe that we should all be allowed ONE TRACTOR PER IMPLEMENT, minimum.

Got some workshop time today. Got some minor bits and pieces and not much left. Tach-o-matics to finish painting and fit. Graphics to order. Also a new exhaust to make. May not be a stack, as one catches on low tree branches when mowing the green and verges. So photo's of the horse ready to put back in harness. That's all folks.

No, not these. The broiler element in Mrs K's oven died on Tue. So, I found some model numbers and ordered one from the Jungle.....not bad, $22 and free 2 day delivery. Pulled the breaker, got some tools and pulled out the old element. Wed, Mrs K needed the stove to make a kettle of soup, so I taped up the element leads and turned on the breaker. The oven door was still open holding my tools. Me.. Do you need the oven? Mrs K...No, just the burner. Me....OK, I'll just put my tools in the oven until I get the element tomorrow. I go to my weekly Wed. night Pinochle game. Yep, you guessed right. She decided to warm up a slice of left over pizza for her dinner and turned on the oven to preheat and sure enough, she was " Grilling Tools". My new Milwaukee head lamp. Still works, but the band curled up and half the mounting clip melted away. My B&D screw gun. Still runs, but the reversing switch was melted to the case. My Dewalt driver bit case now has nice steak grill marks. Luckily, every thing was cooked medium and not well done.

Your best bet is to take the engine apart and take the block and crankshaft to an engine machine shop. They will let you know what may need to be done. Without the proper precision measuring equipment and the skill to use them properly you could waste money on parts that won't give you satisfactory performance.

Well, I finally got to use just a tractor for snow removal.... did four drives, ran outta gas and then the battery wouldn’t turn it over. One trickle charger and 100ft extension cord later it’s back at Home. Im not sure if it’s theboff brand battery that’s junk (came with it), or if the S/G isn’t working properly, but I’ll figure that out when I can feel my fingers again

The manufacture of this tractor also made transmissions used in the Wheel Horse D250, some Massey, Bolen, MTD and Cub Cadet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutbrod

Hello, I have a k241 that I bought a while back and would like to start on it some time this month. It has a cracked piston and the guy I got it off said it needs to be re-bored. By using my dial calipers at the top of the bore it appears to be a standard bore. I downloaded the service manual so I can probably handle taking it apart. Do I just start disassembling it step by step by the book? and what tools will I need for checking specifications that will be sufficient? I have feeler gauges and dial calipers but nothing for inside the bore. It seemed like a good deal for $40. It is nearly complete except the muffler, I also have parts in a box such as shrouds, pulley, cylinder head, coil and a couple carburetors with air filter housings.

You can move the governor arm all the way left and open the carb butterfly all the way. Then measure between the the two holes for the length of the wire rod and where to put the Z bends. EXACT Precise length is not super critical as you will set the governor afterwards. Route choke cable under engine blower housing. Conduit clamps to the bracket.

Uh, I'd replace that one for sure - not much left of it and the surface is gone too deep with pitting. It would be a belt-eating animal at best. Sarge

at 1:20 he activates the locking pin by hand to show it and you can see it locking on the attachments as he switches between them. VERY nice engineering on everything.

That looks like a GREAT deal for $40. The spare electric starter is worth that!. To get a good bore measurement you need to be down past where the rings would be with the piston at the top of the stroke. When your measuring at the very top with the dial caliper your in an area that gets no wear. Below is a great threat that is pinned in the "Instructional Threads Section" Your engine is a little larger, but the process is basically the same. I'm also about to start my first overhaul in many years. Here's some good responses I just got about governor and Camshaft parts. Also a few machine shop addresses in case you can't find one near you. Post a thread on your rebuild. Lots of good help here, and you will also be helping people like me that, also are on the learning curve.

I added wheel weights to my 753 and my bronco 14. I don't need them but my boy's are now gonna give a crack at plowing. The boys then took the bronco 14 out and did a couple trailers of firewood.

They have been reinforced. Cree 24 watt Led flange mount lights. A Harbor Fright winch in a receiver hitch on back. I also added a 1/2" spacer under the front seat hinge as I didn't like the angle of the new seat. The steering wheel has been raise 3". 80 lbs. of wheel weight in each rear wheel. And the frame brace.

I think it really depends on what type of material you’re grading. If it’s compacted you will need down pressure or else the blade will just skip along. If it’s loose material the chain will be fine. One thing is for sure, this is a great application for wheel weights front and back. Tire chains too. I have the axel mount 50” on a GT-1800 with solid lift bar to grade the dirt/crushed concrete road I live on. Mostly I go out and mess around after it has rained a little bit because that helps loosen the material and it compacts better. When I want to get it done faster (shh and better!!) I use my Ford 545-C with a box blade. I’ve run road graders at work for years and still find the grader blade one of my favorite attachments.

It was in the 20’s with almost 30 mph gust yesterday, so we turned the heat on in the garage and started working on machines. We started the day with my sons *cough*lol John Deere zero turn and the went onto the WheelHorse pulling tractors.

Eric, you and trina did a good job. I like the Color incl. The differently colored Kohler sign., it gives the Engine a bit more personality. It looks like fresh out from Factory, awesome job.

I borrowed these pictures of a Wheel Horse generator mount from the For Sale page. You could build a mount like this for a pump.

I got my 312 Horse out and we trimmed some bushes. Had the Toyota and trailer out too just to haul them away. Finished up with the C-120/180 and small trailer to finish cleaning up. You just can't beat an electric pole saw for cleaning up overgrown bushes. I went some what GREEN, but I used a 10 HP generator to power the pole saw then used a electric chainsaw at the ground.

Mike, this is an old one, but aren't we all! MY FIVE NEW BOYFRIENDS! I am seeing 5 gentlemen every day. As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed. Then I go to see John. Then Charlie Horse comes along, and when he is here, he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day, I'm really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay What a life! Oh, yes, I'm also flirting with Al Zymer. and thinking of calling JACK DANIELS or JOHNNY WALKER to come and keep me company. Now remember this: Life is like a roll of toilet paper the closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes...

Let stay a few day's longer. Today i refill some Fuel and bleed the whole System. Luckily i stopped the Engine immediately if i see it runs out of Fuel. didn't try to restart, that let some Diesel in the Lines. after filling, i bleed firstly the Filter, later the Fuelpump. didn't loosing the injection lines, just keep everything as it is and give her a Try to Fireup. Today it was 8* outside, so a easyer Start will be possible. Pull the throttle to max and hit the Starter for 30sec, then i see some white clouds out of exhaust. Preglow 40sec, than fire up with Throttle fully open. after 5 cranks the Engine starts but spit a bit. i immediately afterglow manually and after further 5sec. The Engine runs smoothly even with throttle on idle.It was the same nice tak- tak- tak i heared before. Then i parked both beside for photo shooting. The wrong mounted 3 Point is allready corrected.. 😎 The first Action a huge Branch, witch was ripped i moved to the Fields, hanging on chains, What a fun and what a Beast. At least i mounted quick and dirty a Snowblade on front, just to measure, what i need on Material. Additional, the forecast tells for tomorrow some Snow.... The first try for the usability of the Shovel will be made by a Steel rope, handled by the tail lift, to lift the shovel. It seemed it will working...
