10 pointsI had this idea years ago and started it a few years ago. Not sure if anyone has ever done the same, I found the parts and started to put it together the other day.... I might just have to finish it. thought I’d better share before I lose the pics from my phone! First adding new 3/4 axles through an old front axle Then welding end stops to bolt them to Wheel mounts like so Building the axle carriers - typical these welds won't ever be seen! reaming the holes to 3/4 to take new pins First test for articulation Now to work out the drawbar - and a hitch for the back of Bendy

9 pointsSo I watched this 1045 up for sale only listed as wheel horse on Facebook classifieds in Georgia . The gentleman was older so getting information was limited as well as additional pictures . I took the risk and threw it up on U-ship. Had a guy message me saying he was 70 miles away and would grab it . So we worked a way to contact off u ship . By then I didn’t have the machine paid for as I was looking for a reasonable shipping quote . The shipper said I’ll pay for it you just pay upon delivery which worked well as the seller didn’t have much technology 😬. It showed up not running and no steering as I wasn’t told . With some elbow grease I plan to leave it original Paint . Did some wet sanding and had the rims powder coated . I have dug deep and found another dash with matching paint and proper era front tires .

7 pointsGot the 2 stage hooked up on the C160. I tried to put it on the C195 but the frame is to long. This C160 had this setup on it last winter by the previous owner. Mounted the D series plow blade on the C195 along with a wieght box. Loader has chains on it just incase I need to move snow banks.

6 pointsNot much of a workout today with only 5 inches as of 5 pm, seems like a mix right now.I wonder what happened to the 12 to 18 inches that was predicted..I purchased this 520-H back in 2001 with 470 hours on it from a good friend of mine as.he only mowed with it, it now has 790 hours and has been a great tractor.I wonder how Eric B made out 1 hour north of me ?

6 pointsNot the horse, but the hauler........ Got bored and made some “carbon fiber” window decals. Now the hauler is official. 👍

5 pointsEnded up with about 16" of snow here. The snow was almost to the top of the blower housing and it was perfect snow for throwing. The tall chute I have threw it out there 40 or 50 feet. And I'm really pleased with the 16 auto its hooked to. What a relief to have the hydraulic lift It took a good 4 hours to do the 1/4 mile driveway, the circle to the house, the barn and then to the horse shed. And even make a path to the bird feeders. That includes the snow blowing and then scrape it down with the plow tractor and blow that last wind row away. So seat time I got

5 pointsThis ethanol discussion seems to come up all the time with the same refrain of responses. So there is a lot archived on here if you search. It’s almost a religion. I have never had a single issue I’d blame on ethanol. In fact, I used to go out of my way to buy gas that had ethanol in it to keep water from accumulating in my gas tanks. These little engines run hot and fast, so despite their low compression there can be some advantages - especially in hot weather - to run higher octane. My echo trimmer manual dictates 89 or higher, so rather than have multiple fuel types on hand I always run 89. However... the use of LEADED gas -aviation gas or the TEL additives that often get mentioned in these fuel threads - just seems like a bad idea. If you think there is enough lead in the fuel to provide any benefits to the top end of your engine, then you had better believe there is enough lead in the exhaust to do less than desirable things to your health. Or your children’s or grandchildren’s health. Lead was added to gas solely as a means of improving the octane of the poor quality fuels of the period. Maybe it provided some lubricity to the valvetrain, but that was a distant secondary attribute. It finally disappeared after a long fight when it was showing up everywhere in the environment and especially in the bloodstreams of children. It’s amazing to think it’s still used in any fuel. Claire Patterson is probably turning over in his grave. Use “Pure” gas or ethanol laced gas per your own set of criteria, but I’d suggest we keep the lead out. Steve

5 pointsIt's being reported the construction of the Chinese base on the dark side of the moon may cause short periods of negative gravity.

5 pointsProbably fell out when you used the steering wheel for a grab bar when you dismounted the horse. Look in your cowboy boots for the pin.

5 pointsBad thing happen in three’s.....(1) lost pin and (2) tire off the rim......be careful! Number three has yet to happen . Might wanna wear a helmet till #3 happens

5 pointsNo matter where you live, you can find ethanol-free gas in any state and in Canada. Search here: https://www.pure-gas.org/
-
5 pointsOctane rating just means the ability of the fuel to resist detonation, whether is compression ratio ignition timing ect...i would prefer to only spend 1/2 as much for the fuel and still receive the same benefits.

5 pointsWell, Ok here are the pictures--and also a way I figured out how to unload a tractor more safely. right after i picked up the 880, I went to pick up the backordered toolbox from harbor Freight. Just a piece of cake to unload it with the high position motorcycle lift they also sell. So I also lifted the unloading planks level with the truck bed, backed the tractor to the end of the planks [by hand], put it in gear to hold it, and lowered it down. Then i added Bronco saw horses I use at work to pull the truck away, and lowered each plank a step at a time. there was very little weight on the planks at this point. so here is the tractor, nice and straight and safely and easily unloaded. Enjoy

4 pointsI owe it all to my parents. One of the lady’s I went and checked in with yesterday before the snow, and she asked me why I was willing to do it. I told her it was 2 fold: A) it needs to be done and I’m able.Thats what neighbors do. B ) If I don’t set the example for my son, no one will. It doesn’t cost a dime to be helpful. As for my service, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. I couldn’t have have done my job had the men and women before me not done theirs. I simply bridged the gap between them and the next generation.

4 pointsWe were forecast between 5-13in depending on the station locally.... I think I cleared off 1.5in haha. 😂😂 I had the hood up and tight, and it worked for a bit on our drive, but a UPS truck came by as I was at the end of the drive, and the wind from it blew everything in my face, and up under the hood. At that point there was no use 🤷🏻♂️😂 Besides, I’m a Marine, we’ve never been accused of being smart 😂😂

3 pointsMan o man. Rugged. When I got up this morning we had about six and a half inches of snow and it sleeted most of the day after that. Ended up with a strong 8 total. It's like moving quicksand out there. It's not slushy but it's extremely dense and heavy. Moved enough this afternoon to get out of the driveway in the morning and we will finish it up tomorrow afternoon.

3 points@Vinylguy and for that matter everyone else. Never ever ever worry about hijacking any one of my threads for any reason. We are all here to learn new things and keep entertained and sometimes both. This particular dashboard appears to have some long past dried out residue on the back of it where it was attached to the metal but I can't honestly tell you that that is or is not adhesive of any sort.
-
3 pointsWe were told minimum of 5-8 inches, the highest we were forecast was 13in.... i just cleared about an inch and a half 🤷🏻♂️😂 i wish i could get paid to guess for a living like forecasters do
-
3 pointsNo joke! One came back at me and it was like some one snowballed me point blank. But that was half way through the last driveway, so I just “pushed” through it lol. We have three elderly (75+) neighbors that I try to clear their drives before they do. The couple across the street is actually younger than me, but they have a little one and the man of the house has to plow for his employer, so I got theirs so the misses doesn’t slip with the little one. I’d rather get a brain freeze for a bit than a call that someone’s broken a hip or got a concussion because I wanted to stay warm. The blower makes it easier to do, as a kid I shoveled 5-6 drives each snow fall for the same reason. After two snow falls under 7in, I’ve done 10 drive ways and still have a 1/3rd if a tank of gas. Not half bad I think.

3 pointsHere is the result of ethanol gas... looks like corn is starting to grow in the carb bowl. Just imagine how the tiny jets get plugged with this sh... I tried using Stabil, but to no avail. Finally located a local Sheetz with ETHANOL-FREE gas.

2 pointsAnyone know the phone number for the wizard to help me find a magic spell to put the hairpin in the flag. "connect lift rod stud to top hole in tractors lift arm and secure with a hairpin cotter" Manual sounds likes its doable without an adult, a child and a wizard 😤
-
2 pointsIf you believe the forecasters in the northeast you’d think we are in for another ice age, at one point I’d heard over 2’ of snow. Now claiming 4”-8”. Either way I haven’t plowed once this season. Very late for no snow around here. Just put the blade on yesterday. Changed the oil and hung the suitcase weights out back. I can’t wait to try my new tru-power ags I the snow. I had deestones on last year and it pushed fine without chains, I think these will grip even better.

2 pointsI run whatever I can get the cheapest at the gas station but I always treat my fuel with Stabyl. My machines sit for months without being started. They always start as they should and run great no matter how long they sit as long as the fuel was treated and they are on trickle chargers.

2 pointsI put the swept forward axle and gear reduction steering on my 160. Also trailer hubs and wheels and tires. The tires are 6ply and hold 70psi, which helped steering almost as much as the gear reduction. I highly recommend on any loader tractor....

2 pointsThanks for the link. There is a heating and cooling company on the list that has it and they are 20 minutes away . I would have never known that.

2 pointsHere is @callum12‘s Agri-800 as it sits, it sure looks tough! I’ve urged him to become a member for unlimited picture posting abilities, but couldn’t stand letting the build history of this creation be lost to the hands of a greedy photo sharing site. I was bidding on a vertical shaft A-80-R locally on Thursday, but someone saw way more value in it than I, but I’ve got a 13 or 14 horse Briggs that I thought would make a fun mower. That’s what got me searching for A-800 details and how I found Callum’s build. I'll just Keep my eyes open for another some day...

2 pointsOne of your pics gave me a flashback... The brake!! I had the same problem, and cut the brake down at the end at an angle, so I could shorten the pin that holds the end (and of course re-drill for new cotter pin hole... I'll see if I can find my pics! EDIT- My post on this previously, on a thread with help from others!! :
