So Scottie is still having his fevers at night and the team is thinking that they are caused by the hematoma in his pelvic area. They want to make sure before we leave that they covered all basis. Scottie has started therapy and he has mastered the sliding board, right foot pivot transfer and getting in and out of a vehicle. Lowell and I have learned how to assist him with his transfers and his daily activities. We have the hospital bed at home and tomorrow (Saturday) we will be getting his wheel chair, commode, and sliding board. With the help from God, maybe we can be home for Christmas! I want to apologize for not updating you for a couple of days but I have been learning how to care for Scottie and sleeping when I can, so I can be strong for Scottie.

Last night Scottie was fever free!!! Praise the Lord!!! However, he experienced more pain during the night. He has some fractured ribs that is causing him pain and his pelvic area was hurting him along with his legs. As long as we stay on top of his pain, he does fine. Ok so now we are going to start a new chapter of Scottie’s recovery as we are going home tomorrow. Please pray that he continues to get stronger and he heals mentally and physically. We also ask for prayers to make our family a stronger unit and that we rally around Scottie to heal. Our next chapter will be a long road but with God by our side we can do anything!

As much as I would love to try this... I don't think it's in my best interest. Trina's a black belt....

I just have my wife hold the spark plug wire. She told me that is what she had to do for her dad while growing up! Seriously….this is the one I use

We since I'm on the road I don't have any tractors with me. We are sitting for 6 months in Florida in an RV park, so I brought along my original 1975 Schwinn Stingray five-speed that was mine since new. It was in need of some attention so I tore it apart and started re-doing it. It needed new tires, brake shoes, cables and some new screws/bolts here and there. I switched the original thumb shift to the Krate style "Stik Shift" which is more desirable if you are familiar with the old Stingrays. Anyway here are some pics. Before Polished front rim and brake caliper New sneakers I'll post some more as I go. Not a tractor, but it's all I got

This is one that’s at the family’s AC dealership as long as I can remember. Cleaned and checked many spark plugs with that thing.

A while ago, i suggested that my oldest (5 years old) should probably get her haircut i thought it was pretty long, she told me she was growing it out to so she could donate it to Locks of Love. For those who dont know this charity makes hair wigs for children with cancer and you need to donate a minimum of 10 inches in a pony tail for them to make a wig. This gesture of kindness in my 5 year old makes me glow on the inside, and she is getting pretty close to her goal.

This year our previously "material girl" granddaughter (14 years old) has finally proven that she gets it. When she was asked what she wanted for Christmas she wanted to "Adopt" a needy family and make their holiday memorable. She is working through her church and has used every penny she has been given by grandparents and other relatives for gifts and food for this family. We are so proud of her maturity and selfless attitude.

Our prayers were answered. Mark had his post chemo CT scan on Monday and we just reviewed the results with his medical team this afternoon. He is clear and no further treatment is scheduled, although he will have a CT scan every three months. Thank you all for your support and please continue to direct your prayers to those who are still fighting this battle. Merry Christmas

I built a coil tester when I was at Napa. Made a stand out of wood, Got a Chevy V-8 points distributor some wire , the adjustable spark tester I showed previous and one very "special" piece. A bracket from a west coast mirror. You hooked up a battery, connected the coil you wanted tested, and spun the distributor. If you got a spark at the spark tester, the coil was good. Now for that "special " piece. It was used as a ground point for testing GM HEI coils. You set the coil near it and spun the dist. and the spark would jump to the flat surface of the bracket. It would throw it quite a ways. One time one of the counter guys was hooking up a coil and the other counter guy was talking to the customer all the while moving that dist. gear. The guy hooking up the coil kept getting zapped! . Another time a guy brings in an HEI coil to test. Just as the dist was spun he grabs that mirror bracket. He ended up on the floor!

Do you mean a spark tester? I like these inline models. 2nd one has an adjustable gap with engine running I use this one to see if the spark is dropping out. All these are available at Napa

( HP=$ ), this is my favorite formula when talking about squeezing more horse power out of an engine. It will cost money for the up grades and then more money for the up keep. If you are building the engine to be a worker then I would stay stock. 14HP is more than you'll be able to put to the ground on your tractor. If you don't have to depend on the use of the tractor then let the sky (or your wallet) be the limit. JMO

You have 21 tractors and need a bigger one? Just weld 3 Wh's together and by your wife a nice used Lexus convertible if your pocket is on fire!

No pics of mine, but it was the same as the 65 AMC shows but in gold. It was the only big thing I can remember getting for Christmas as a kid. Money was tight and my Dad tricked me thinking I didn't get anything. It snowed and I took it out anyway. Not good but I rode it! I cut grass in the spring, saved up, and got me a slick drag tire for the rear. I can remember hanging my ball glove on the handle bars and peddling across town and playing away games. (same kids, different ball field!) thanks Zeek, that bikes bringing back some good memories!

Looking good there Zeekster. Started my '65 Stingray resto back in 2003... and it's still awaiting paint, currently sitting down in the basement with the Mrs Rules' original Fair Lady. We still enjoy riding them, though on a vary rare occasion these days. Good to hear, you and the Mrs Zeek are doing OK.

I had it made. Tim Hamilton from Auburn, MA made it. He did a great job. I gave him a D200 tank to make it after.

OK Spark plug cleaning. Used to be something commonly done. Many of us probably have a "home version" to media blast a plug...but now days it is recommended you NOT clean the plugs as there is a chance of abrasive getting into the engine. I still clean some and carefully check to make sure no abrasive is stuck in the plug (dental picks). Mostly I clean the plugs for my Military vehicle as they are several $$ each.... Question is this a real concern or is part of our throw away economy (pushed by Champion)

I love watching the Dino's repair show. Imagine if that was on cable TV.

Right Richard...there is no lip sticking out in the axle tube...that is why Dave put a carriage bolt under the bearing...so something would stick out to tap against. I used an air hammer with a bent bit. A few rat-a-tats and it popped right out. The best way is a bearing puller. Word is you can rent them at Auto Zone. I have an old bearing puller that works, but even that needs some shims to make it work.

I get it about the $$ of the front mounted blowers but rear mount ain't gonna cut it on the grades I have... been there done that on a old Massey. Guess I would have to find out about mid pto's and such. Cousin Tom has an older JD ...ahem... that he picks up and drops front end attachmen's fairly easy. Pretty sure his blower runs off pto under the frame... no mid. Customer of mine had a new JD where every thing on the front was quick attach HY but I would rather have a sister in a house of ill repute than JD.

Scottie had another rough night last night. He had a temperature again and the medical team is not quiet sure where this is coming from. It could be one of several things from deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the lower legs), infection in the bladder, issues with his kidney and liver, or a virus. He is experiencing night terrors while he is sleeping, he talks in his sleep, and he needs constant reassurance that mom and dad are here. The medical team has order blood draws, cultures, CT scans and X-rays but unfortunately with all of the trauma he has sustained all the testing can not pin point what’s going on. He is all bruised on the inside so there is no telling what’s going on. The medical teams biggest fear is he has a blood clot and it could move to his heart and cause major issues there. Lowell Scholljegerdes and I are taking this minute by minute and day by day. We know that whatever God has in store for us we will get through this together. I know with out the support of Lowell and our friends and family I couldn’t remain strong for Scottie

My prayers sent ... First time on internet in two weeks and checking in with my family to find this. I was saddened sickened and heartbroken as the my emotions took over looking at the pictures. Lowell and Joette I’m so glad to see Scottie is doing better and is a fighter. Never give up ! Guardian angels do exist
