Thought i'd share these with you folks . Not something you see every day . The Canadian Flagged Manitoulin left one of Buffalo's grain elevators today . It's the same elevator our mill gets all their grain to make flour from . To put this in perspective : This ship visits 2 times a year . We have 3 grain men running 40 foot bottom-drop grain trailers 6 days a week . They dump 12 / 20 loads each ..PER DAY ! Das - a - lotta grain !

What a fine place to post this...had a great get together last night! Aunt from Oregon, Cousin and her family from California, and a second cousin who recently moved to Utah all came over for dinner and a splash in the pool. A storm cell came through, so we got out of the water and got the tractors out! Pictures can tell you the rest!

Can't help it... mind's always in the dirt I would go with a 160 and it's funny you should say there are none in your area, PA is usually crawling with them. Next choice would be a 3 or 400 in 10,12 or 14 HP. preferably 14, I would just want the extra ponies. All six speed manuals. I currently use a 1067 with no problem for the gardens but with our sandy loam soil here there isn't a great need for HP but more traction. @JAinVA What did we tell you about running around topless!?!?! I should add here in case you haven't figured it out we have a tendency to be horse power hogs. A short frame tractor in say 8hp might just fit the bill if properly set up Say an 857, 753 or the like tied to an eight incher. Especially if you have smaller garden(s) to tend. Easier to maneuver around in tight spaces.

@dells68 Suburbans are rebranded Ropers. No family connection to the brand for me but the guy truly made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. At that moment I understood how my wife feels at a two pairs for the price of one shoe sale!!!

Made a fuel tank for on of my D200, 1/8 in. plate. And no leaks. 3hours and some plate that was laying around. It hold about 8 gallons of fuel. It bolts to the sides of the fenders and don't sit on the bottom of the tank.

As some of you may know I quit my oilfield driving job a few months ago, money was great but the time away from home was not. Ended up taking a job at our local tire shop as a shop hand, as well as lead wrecker driver, which is great as towing has been my passion ever since I watched my dad's best friend turn over a rolled cattle truck 2 miles from our house when I was about 10. Anyway yesterday morning started like any other day, clock in, pour some coffee and sit down to do paperwork on the two Highway Patrol impounds from the night before, when the phone rings. Simple call, just a Hummer H3 with the transmission out about 20 miles away. So I fire up the old rollback and head out. Get there and start winching it on the truck when out of nowhere comes a state Dept dump truck. When I can feel the wind off a passing vehicle while standing at my controls, they're entirely too close and driving way too fast. I'm not sure what he was doing, but here in Oklahoma it's so flat you can see for miles so the excuse of not not being seen quick enough doesn't really work here. Guys what I'm trying to say is when you see any of my brothers and sisters in the towing industry recovering a vehicle on the side of the highway, please move over and slow down, not only is it the law, but it keeps us going home safely every night. We are out here to make our living and support our families while doing a job that we love, but our main goal is to get the job done safely and return home to our loved ones at night

If you are at the end of the trunion you need a new friction surface The belt will not solve that

A "moldboard" plow is used to "cut" new unbroken ground that hasn't been "tilled" before, after turning earth it's best to let it dry out a day or 2 then break up the bigger clods with a disc, then work it over the rototiller attachment, but I'm old school when it comes to gardening, I tried the tiller only once in new unbroken ground and IMHO wasn't worth the beating the tractor ,the tiller and myself took when it is easier on everything just to change out attachments, Jeff. Plus all the plow dogs on here like @PeacemakerJack, @Achto, @WHX20, really think it's awesome fun to turn earth.

There were two parking brakes systems on Sundstrands. Early ones (all hydro gear and early piston to piston) had internal parking pawls not really adjustable and probably not working anyway from prior abuse. Some later piston to piston units had a brake drum on the end of the hydro motor with a band brake set up very similar to the gear trannies. Which do we have here? Not sure either one would make the noise. More likely is a bad idler pulley....

The girls stayed with their cousins last night and their friend came over early today. How does a guy entertain a kid waiting on her friends to come home? Throw her on a tractor of course!

With regards to the RD deck, I attach a length of vinyl baseboard using the holes at the rear to create a longer discharge. It replaces the original metal one from the earlier decks. It helps to keep the clippings get past the rear axle and low.

The Cam and Eccentric are at the very top of the plate in the picture you can/should lube this (I prefer dry graphite powder) the friction washer is the center right of the plate with the 9/16" nut should be clean and free from any lube that attracts dirt/dust (again if you do use anything dry graphite powder) but it's there to keep the motion lever from drifting/creeping back to neutral, the center left is the shifter linkage attachment which should be lubed as well, hope this clears up some of the mud, and the one nearest the dipstick is floating mounting bolt, Jeff.

When people see those flashing lights...attracts 'em like a moth to a flame. Same thing happens when roading construction equipment to the next job site. The chit you see out on them highways, never ceases to amaze me. Quite the challenge...to not end up like this guy.

As if we don't live far enough out in the sticks already. We're going to go a few hours North and hang around rough camping with the moose for a few days. Can't even begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!!

I have always liked the looks of the Work Horse ( early 80s version) models with the 1800 / 1848 being my favorite because it has all the goodies,8 pinion diff,1 1/8th axles,Eaton 11 pump and hydro lift. This one has been sitting in a buddy's back 40 for a few years. I recently worked out a trade with him. It's pretty much back burnered for now but it's nice knowing that its here. Overall it seems to be in decent shape with good straight sheet metal. Of course the tag is completely faded away so I'm not sure what year it is. One thing it is missing is one of the correct wider rear wheels used on these and the 520s. I don't have a spare so I will need to chase one of those down.

If I mow damp grass I lower the tailgate on my truck, put the ramps on it and pull the front of the onto the ramps. I wash it down and use a brush to remove hard packed grass. Each winter the deck gets a good cleaning and a coating of Plasti-dip.

Started on the engine today. Checked compression before disassembly 130 PSI on both cylinders. Everything went well until one exhaust bolt broke off (Darn). Made up a steel plate and bolted it to the intake port and sat on my magnetic drill. Filed top of bolt flat and center punched as close as possible. Drilled and tapped hole. Fitted muffler temporarily (yay it fits). Pulled flywheel, cleaned and reinstalled. Pulled heads, not much carbon to speak of. Set valves.

No tow valves on Eatons.. But only go a short distance and very slowly...you may hear some clicking that is normal.

About 40 years ago my dad drove me up towards Moose Head lake in ME.He asked me to look out the window and see if anything was missing and I said mailboxes.Right! An hour later same question and the answer was power poles. He loved Maine and lived there for 25yrs but I could never get used to the sun light at that latitude.Beautiful country though.

Well every one, it lives again. I would like to thanks wheelhoresman. I bought the exact item you took your time to copy and paste for me and she lives again. I got the item yesterday i believe, took the generator of and took it apart cleaned it all up, put the new parts in and she started right off and mowed her 2 1/2 acres. 51 years and counted and thanks oldman for offering up one if i couldn't fix mine. I know i am not on here a lot because of my job, but all you guys are great every time i have a question you guys are here And it was the bearing close to the pully it gave out. seized to the shaft. I had to cut it of real careful like with the drimmel. a little emery cloth on the shaft and the new bearings went right on. Judging by the looks of it those were the factory parts.

Yyeeaahhh... Boy that thing is puurrttyy @953 nut Don't sweat over getting old. It happens to the best of us. Actually, it happens to the worst of us too. There once was a time when I was working on the auto parts counter and a beautiful young woman walked up to buy some stuff. We completed the transaction and she wrote out and handed me a check. She had just turned 18 and was excited to write out her checks on her own new account. She had the type of name that there could have been only one of her in the area. The address had changed but I asked her if she had been born in such and such a place because I remember her as a newborn. Of course she said yes and I felt about 752 years old at that moment. That was over 21 years ago!

Too many self absorbed people with all sorts of devices and other distractions in front of them. The more safety devices are incorporated into vehicles the less attentive drivers think the need to be.

Just my two cents That nest in the engine looks like a rodent job to me. There should be a pre-filter wrapper over the air filter element. The oil filter is the short one, the longer one is better. Be sure that you have the grommet around the oil filter, the long filter holds it much better. It appears oily under the rat nest, those mounts tend to weep oil and cause buildup of air blocking grime. Replace gasket if needed. You should pull the fuel tank, there might be much debris and rust in the seat mounts. OK, that was six cents

Nice 416H.I had one with a 2 stage snow blower and cab.Wish I still had it.It's really something the way lawn clippings accumulate on these tractors.Good part of routine maintenance to at least blow them off once in a while.Have fun wth your new toy.

I love having at least one non-red one in the group! Maybe it has #’s on the motor that could help with nailing down the year. This is mine, originally a GT-1600 8 speed.
