9 pointsWeather was great and there was a good mix of tractors and engines including a few . This little Lawn Ranger was sold before they got it off the trailer. This C-81 had the hard to find Pizza warmer option! Love these barbed wire spark plug wires.

5 pointsAwesome thread and cool cars. We’re a Ford family and I’ve had the Torino’s for a couple decades. The cop car my son and I bought at auction to flip but I liked it so much I bought out my son and kept it for a few years. A few weeks ago I posted the Torino pic on one of my Torino forums and a guy asked if they were for sale. I told him no unless it was for crazy money. He asked for my crazy price so I came up with one and he said he would take them both so I kept my word and sold them to him. I sold the Vic about a week later and made my wife very happy with the thinning of the herd.

4 pointsWelcome to my second Wheel Horse Project, the GT-14. To date Ive now managed to get the tractor running sweetly, with everything else now working as it should. The cutting deck, however, is going to need some serious TLC. Here in the UK, its very difficult, if not near impossible to find parts, so any help would be appreciated. For the tractor, I'm currently looking for a steering wheel. For the cutting deck I need new bearings and blades, plastic rollers and one replacement shaft.

3 pointsAfter my last update I set too and completed the wiring which was pretty straight forward, basically LED work lights and a LED tail light (don’t want to get rear ended) Then the sound system got tackled, this involved removing the old exhaust nipple and fitting a new slightly longer one allowing a better fit for the silencer. A couple of days ago my decals arrived. Thank you very much Mark and Ewan (RESTORATION DECALS.CO.UK) you make excellent decals (trouble is they make my paint look like cr@p). So this evening after dinner I spent a very pleasant hour applying them and here’s a pic, more tomorrow. Curse you LED.

3 pointsNew seat for the old Wheel Horse, a great reproduction from Bob Ellison. Was looking to put a new seat on my 1054, have been sitting on an old kitchen chair cushion all these years due to a flat seat. It is great to keep it looking as close to original as possible. Thanks again Bob, great job!

3 pointsI have a 70 GTO that I need to finish putting back together. Nothing special but one I have owned since about 1977. My first hot rod was a 55 Pontiac Chieftan hardtop with a transplanted 389 with an Isky camshaft. Was a stick shift car, transmission changed to a Chevy box. Of course it had to have the Hurst shifter!

3 pointsThe oil level is over filled. Oil should not be reaching that high to the breather cap. The oil level is at the highest when all rams are retracted all the way, it will be at a lower level when they are all extended. The difference in the oil level is from the volume of space of the rods. They take up space when going inside of the cylinders, = higher reservoir level. And then allow that volume of space to be filled with oil when they are extended out of the cylinder = lower reservoir level.

Tubbed, custom suspension, fuel cell, auto tranny with overdrive, Great example of a Shark Nose Pickup and still has a hitch to pull his vintage car when he wants to...

3 pointsI've had heated floors in my bath since around 2002. Best investment ever made to improve our comfort year round. When we remodeled my daughter's bathroom we used the Schluter Ditra system. Great stuff and easy to install. Constant 83 degrees feels like walking on the beach. Now about that urinal...how did you ever convince the wife to let you put that in?

3 pointsNope, it's not on the parts list. I have the original owners manual as well the original parts manual for my 76. The cover on both show an ornament as well as a tilt back fender and neither show on the actual diagrams but Squonks has both. I'm thinking his is an early 76 that Wheel Horse did their common thing of using up inventory. from the previous year.

2 pointsCouple shots of what’s keeeping me from more horsin’ around... The window is being replaced by two daylight windows 50” x 12” on either side of the vanity. The vanity is a 1930’s dresser with copper vessel sinks and I’m building the shower myself. Tub is a 6’ soaker/jet tub. This bath is getting its own water heater and will be tied into the wood boiler for those winter months. Theres room in the corner for a urinal, but I haven’t figured if I’ll fab or buy one. We’ll have in floor heat too.

2 pointsMy first Malibu was a '79 Landau V-8 factory 4spd, then my ex wife thought it was too much car so I sold it and regretted it for several years searching for another till I bought this one, and that dark burgundy metallic 'Stang sure looks sweet sparkling in the sun, my current wife's father had dark blue '16 'Stang turbo 4cyl auto for till last fall.

2 pointsJeff, It was a tough day when the Torino’s left. Even my wife was a little bit emotional so I’m sure at some point I’m really going to regret letting them go. The upside is that my neighbor bought a new 2018 mustang GT last year with a six speed manual. His wife doesn’t get along with it so now he’s looking at upgrading to a 2019 with the 10 speed automatic. This guy is crazy about taking good care of his stuff so I may be able to work out a deal and have a place for that money I just made on the other three cars. 2 pointsMike, I can see your point about heat damage but doubt our engines will overheat a battery when cranking. I would think overcharging would be the more likely source of heat damage. I should probably adopt your battery replacement schedule. I always hang in there until at least the second time I have to resort to jumper cables and then the battery is NOT on sale!

2 pointsThat is from a "D" series, like a D-200 it helped cool the hydro lines/fluid and would have had a thermocoupled switch in series with the wiring These mount at the back above the transaxle.

2 pointsAs a general rule, The more cranking power the shorter the life. The case size is the same no matter what amp rating so they squeeze in more plates for more power. Heat is the battery's no. 1 enemy so a squeezed together battery has less room for cooling. Got this right from the DEKA rep when I was at Napa. Of course some batteries last 1 year some last 10. I get 230-340 Amp units and keep them on a tender. I change batteries out every 3 yrs. Never had one actually fail but when they go on sale I pick out the oldest and replace it.

2 pointsWe had a great time in spite of a couple of bursts of rain that lasted for around 15 minutes but it was mostly overcast which kept the nasty temps at bay until mid afternoon before the sun broke through. Richie—there were a whole bunch of the 1967-72 GM trucks there this year! It seems that that segment is growing more every year. Two wheel drive, four wheel drive, slammed to the ground, jacked to the sky, bone stock original, custom to the max, perfectly preserved patina, trailer Queen only paint, and the list could go on. I remember when a guy would only see a couple out of the thousands of vehicles there, yesterday we must’ve seen at least 50 of them! Mom came through by texting me some great pics which I’ll share here... I love this three generation pic of Dad, me, and Caleb! We are standing next to the actual car once owned by Reggie White and used in the film “Reggie’s Prayer”. Mom bought me an IH motor trucks hat and when we saw this one I had to get my pic taken by it wearing my new hat! Mom got an opportunity to meet a blast from her past—Eddie Munster! He was there by a clone of the Munstermobile signing autographs. Mom watched those shows as a kid! After one of the rain storms, we got out the shammies and were drying off the cars. I had forgotten how many little leak areas I have on the Goat diverting water into the trunk goes to show one of the reasons why I generally only drive it when the weather is good. Anyway, I was reflecting on how cool it was that dad, mom, Caleb, cousin paul and his friend Jolene could be there with cars to participate and not just spectate. The first 10 years that we went to the show only as spectators until 2001 when we showed my car and mom’s red and LeMans for the first time. I was talking with dad about it while we were working when I noticed this young lady had made several laps around my car. Then she stopped to ask me about it. That is when I noticed the cameraman. Turns out she works for a variety of muscle car rags and even internet and tv stuff and she is interested in doing a piece on the old Goat! I find that fascinating because the car is special to me and my family but isn’t that great compared to many cars there—condition wise, option wise, originality wise, etc. So, we exchanged contact info and we will see what comes of it. One of the highlights of the Day was to see the Fonz (Henry Winkler) in person! He was there signing autographs and hanging out with the folks— All in all a fun day and I feel honored and privileged to share it with my family and my RS wheel horse family too...

1 pointI got a few minutes last night due to some early rain to mess with my newly acquired D160. I changed the spark plugs, put on the cooling tins, fueled her up and gave it a go. Much to my surprise the ole Onan fired up and ran pretty good with a little tweaking. The trans is strong and all of the hydraulics work good. The float did hang on my maiden run, but I pulled the top off and freed it up and all was well again. I've heard lots of bad things about Onans, but this one starts pretty easily and seems to run pretty good. I'm very pleased with it. Thanks @stratostar250!

1 pointMy favorite car which I purchased my senior year in high school was a 1963 Chevy Impala SS 327 Cu in 4 speed. My Dad picked up for me and my younger brother said the old man shift out of second at 110 mph driving on a 2 lane road back to Richmond. White with a red interior.

1 pointGot frame strengthened and motor swapped out. Hood is banged up and a prior owner drilled a bunch of holes along the bottom edge for some reason. So I don’t feel too bad mounting the old school style throttle to the side. Won’t win a beauty pageant but the motor is fresh rebuilt and this thing should be a reliable grandchild magnet for at least a decade:-) My grandaughters helped me. Disappeared after we pulled the hubs. No worries. They have some sweat equity in it and have the wheel horse bug now:-) Alrhough they like the restores C160 better....Which means I’ll end up stripping down this round hood likely next summer and making it pretty.
