I was Inspired by this thread. Mom came down to visit and go to the boy's graduation Friday. So, I put mom on a horse and took her through the woods. She had probably not been in the part of the property since she and dad lived here in the 70s.

Put in fresh fuel and charged the battery on my new B80. Off she went! Runs great, expect her to be for sale in a few days. I also put a new fuel pump and charged the battery on my 312-8. Smoothest, best running tractor I've ever had. Gonna keep it and out it to work😁.

My question is if he is trying to sell it, why wouldn't he just drain the oil and refill it with the proper amount? If that's the reason it's smoking .

Yup you let the Genie out! At least this Genie can be replaced as opposed to the Genie in an electrical item. His name is Lucas. I burnt out that brg. a few yrs ago. No noise. Smelled like Barb B Q. I keep a spare bell around for such occasions. Replace the brg. when I have time. # 204RR6

I know this probably do not belong here in general Wheel Horse talk, but I posted it here anyways. Grownups may move it if deemed appropriate, but this is my reasoning. If I post this in the shipping/transport section only few will see it. Putting it here exposes it to many more, and that will perhaps spark an idea, or open a possibility that otherwise did not exist for some of our non US members. And perhaps also make some awareness among our US members of what this is all about I am, as I did last year, sending a container across the pond to EU land. I can therefor offer our forum members an easy and affordable solution to get things from the US to EU territory, without the hassle and headaches. I close the option to get large items like tractors, bikes, atv's, cars, boats, wifes etc. on July 1. Smaller items like implements and spare parts can be accommodated until app. September 1. Container will land in Denmark some time around Christmas, and further shipping from there can be arranged. If anyone wants to take advantage of this offer, please contact me via PM or here in this thread. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. Regards Thomas

Thanks to A&Z Tractor for having the correct steering wheel for my 73 16 Automatic. Installed it tonight after getting home from work. Went splendidly the one that was on the tractor came off without problem. And after a bit of cleaning everything went together easily. Even had the center cap and that was in great condition.

Haban model 420 sickle-bar mower, " 3 pt cat 0 This runs at 2000 rpm however, there is a hydraulic outlet needed for the bar lift cylinder. Can one be added to the 18 auto? Oldman

They made a blower that fit on the Ranger's which were only 6hp. I don't think that you will have any trouble running one with a 10hp. Unless you want an excuse to buy another tractor, then don't disclose the above info to your significant other.

My wife drove the 502 and was pulling something heavy in our washed out gravel drive at the old house, she was spinning tires so I hopped onto the hitch to give her some traction... and it reared right up in the air. I reacted by jumping back, pushing the tractor back down and all was well. She hasn't had any urge to drive my tractors since! I guess that's why she owns that AC WD45 now, and I still play [work] with the .

Just be aware that boring these axles out requires a lot of skill and practice if you're going to do this by hand - the best method is with a milling machine or a very heavy duty drill press. Some of the axles I've rebuilt have had a very large amount of wear - those must be corrected before the job is complete to keep the steering geometry correct. Otherwise, the wheels end up with some nasty camber and it will show - not to mention wear the tires quickly. Once you go with bronze or brass bushings it makes the axle rebuildable much easier and will prolong its lifespan - there is no reason to toss a worn axle since they can be repaired. Only so many parts left out there, we need to save all we can or eventually, the hobby will die off. Sarge

Bering overfilled with oil could be a condition or a symptom. If it was an error where too much oil was added then an oil change will rectify the situation. If the oil level is high because of a carburetor leak and the gas has diluted the oil then there could be all sort of damage done to the engine. If the oil has any gas smell at all then just walk away.

If you have play in the spindles, you really only have tree options. 1. live with it. 2. find a front axle with no slip. 3. ream out the axle and insert bushings, perhaps with new spindles as they also get worn when the axle starts to go.

In my child hood days we had a 604 that I mowed with. Drove it into the barn and wanted to turn it around and back in to it's stall. (It was an old horse carriage barn... how ironic) My sister's bike was right in front of me. 24" Hd WesternFlyer with the fenders ect. Weighed a ton. . It was leaning against an old horse corral.Thought I was in reverse but was in 3rd. Drove that tractor right up on that bike. Sister was screaming. I pushed the clutch in and rolled of. Shifted into reverse, or so I thought I did. Nope 3rd again and back up on the bike. More screaming! Did this like five times before I realized what was causing all of this. Didn't faze that bike at all! sister went to college and that bike was still there. My friends and I decided to have a bike demo derby 1 day. Guess who won! I rode that bike home with twisted fenders and bent wheels. The buzz bikes went home in pieces to questioning parents.

The last time my wife drove a I was gathering up rocks and stones from the yard and putting them in a dump cart. Wife asked what I was going to do with them and told her I would dump them at the edge of the small creek that runs through our property. She wanted to drive the 953 so I talked her through backing up the dump cart and pulling the handle. She did great, then she looked forward without shifting into a forward gear and let the clutch out for a second. The cart and rear tires were in the creek, she shut it off and climbed over the hood insinuating I had let her do that intentionally. I started it up and it drove right out, none the worse for the wear. Wish I had a camera with me!

A few of the views here... from my office window this week. Can you say, Trees? Or, the damage they sustained, has been the word of the week here, this week. So, for now, the crisis is over... the power grid has been restored... and, my happy little life can pick up where it left off.

Thanks for the replies... I think I'd be in over my head as far as perfectly fixing the spinal play... it isn't anything that worries me. Just noticed a tiny amount of play that apparently was designed that way. @daveoman1966, I have a small bit of play in the steering wheel. You actually showed me how to fix and I don't remember now... I have good tie rods spindles bearings ect. Thanks Cory Sorry, I have a medical condition called CRS. Lol

Well that's not too serious. Funny you couldn't hear or feel that one going out. Note the alternative part numbers in this thread. I would clean and regrease the needle bearing while I had it apart ... replace the seal as well. Seal is at NAPA also, have them cross a Victor 53104.

@RJC1965 Check out this site. It has a real good listing of most of the shows going on in WI. @WHX17 is right about Symco, it is an awesome grounds with entertainment going on till midnight or later. One show that is real close to you is Valmy, by Sturgeon Bay, I have not been to this show yet but would like to check it out one of these years. https://www.upsteamandgasengine.org/wisconsin-events/ I plan on attending Tri County in Plainfield, Garden Tractor Daze in Portage, Symco, Dodge County in Burnette, North Central in Edgar, Rock River in Edgerton, Possibly Baraboo or Chilton, Pickett, Either Calumetville or Shanty Town, & Berlin this year.

Hello Rod...too bad you can't make the one in Plainfield... is usually a nice one. Keep an eye on the community calendar as I have several posted there. Specifically one in Symco near Manawa which is near you and of course the one in Portage which is only GT's and one of @CasualObserver favorites. There is also one in Burnett, Dodge county and one in Berlin, Green Lake County. That one I personally will be bringing eight horses to plus @Achto will have four tractors there. Usually towards the end of the summer/fall for that one. Maybe Dan will chime in with others.

@WHX17, I'll have to measure it and let you know. I'm only about 1/2 way through the truck. I'll try to get back in there one day this weekend. I also got a counter top stand with manuals from the late 50's to the 70's - dealer item. I hope to be able to start posting for sale items in the Big Show thread sometime next week. I've got to sell some stuff to finance the purchase😉!

If your Honey ends up wanting one, make sure you let her pick the one that suits her. Kelli loves her Big D—actually cut lawn with it on Mother’s Day. I told her I would be happy to do it and she said she wanted to enjoy the fresh air. I had built her a tractor years ago with a hand hydro. She never felt comfortable on it and said that she wanted a foot control. Set her up with that and power steering and she actually will tell me periodically that she wants to cut the lawn! Great video—thanks for sharing!

A friend of mine asked me to come over and plow her rather large garden. I’m really busy right now, BUT not too busy for some seat time on GhostRider with a Brinly in tow! I gave a shout out to my local circle buddies and Dan @Achto decided to bring out his newly restored Raider. We had a great time turning earth! I had added the front wheel weights and decided to plow with the Punisher which may have been a little ambitious given the damp soil and plowing uphill one direction! However, GhostRider handled it fine. spun a little here and there but —MAN—did it feel good to be back in the saddle! So thankful to Dan for coming out and playing in the dirt with me, we finished just ahead of the rain. Can’t wait to do more plowing with all my plowing buddies. More story, pics and video in Dan’s resto thread for his Raider...

UncleJerm76 : Here are some photos of my 701 with Hein Werner pump and three race pulley. You should be able to set up your mower , pump and motor drive belt on the three race pulley and do what you want to do! The center raceway is empty on this pulley and would take the mower pto belt just fine. No clutch for mower on this one and not sure if this was on deck or could be placed on 3/4 rod. You need a three race pulley.

Well it seems to be fixed and it was not what i expected. The right floor plate had a 1/2" bolt missing near the brake pedal. I replaced that bolt with a substitute from an old Craftsman RAS stand (had an aged rusty patina) and the contact from the belt is gone. No more vibration. Can't beat that! Quick fix! gives me time to start my landscape brick work, they've sunk down too far. Using the 120 to pull the trailer of soil and sod spoils. Thank you gentlemen!

Here are a few shots of the things I had on the trailer. One thing I'm not sure about is the sweeper. I know it's incomplete, but the model says R32. Sounds like a wheel horse number, but it's not labeled wheel horse. Any ideas?

Got started on the wiring. Im not sure yet but I may have got the wrong ignition switch. Made a bracket to mount the start solenoid. Also put the fuses under the seat. Got to find some kind of clips to hold the wires in place and some harness tape. The middle terminal off the regulator I think went to the red light in dash. It wasnt working, but is it supposed to come on with key on then go out when charging? And The left terminal I think went to cig lighter. Is that hot all the time or only when running? When I first got this thing it had a battery cable run straight to the key switch right behind the fuel tank without any fuses anywhere so it should be a little safer now Also drilled the seized screws out of the drive pully and got some new ones.👍
